[RECOVERY][UNOFFICIAL] TWRP for Galaxy S10+ Magisk Prepatched - Samsung Galaxy S10+ ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & O

So since someone thinked to take my tree and submit it for get official mantainer as first i will delete everything from my git and as second i will now say what i will no more release because of that guy!!
Since that guy thinked to submit my device tree and get official mantainer of twrp he can now archive byself encryption, ota support etc that i have done since 2 days. Because of his move i will now delete that unreleased tree and the most important thing i will not release the enginering bootloaders that allows to root the s10 s10+ and s10e like all other phones without boot from recovery partition. Who that guy is look on twrp site and you see that. And for all other that waits for the script for boot directly rooted i will not release it too. After that say thx to that guy for stop the only thing that was here for use the s10 rooted normaly.
Now a moderator can close the thread

in download mode you see the long press vol up option for unlock bl
unlock the bootloader (that will wipe your device so be sure you made a backup of your data)
after bootloader unlock boot up the phone and make sure it is connected to the internet orhe triggers rmm prenormal
setup the phone without google account etc
reboot the phone in recovery mode and do a factory reset
reboot in download mode and flash the tar with prepatched magisk
hold vol up+ bixby+power until you are twrp. (on a50 only vol up+power)

NOTE: for boot then all other times rooted press vol up+bixby+power button (on a50 only vol up+power) until you see s10/a50 logo and release it. soon i will release a script that let the phone boot byself in recovery mode so the button combination is not needed

No need to get crappy my friend. Just asking a question. Maybe it should get added to the op in BOLD letters.

this may sound like a dumb question, but the instructions say to turn on OEM, turn off phone and then boot into download mode. Does this actually mean to boot into stock recovery? If not, how do you boot into download mode when the phone is turned off?

Ok, so I followed instructions to a T - flashed the modified Twrp (I had turned off auto reboot) so after it had flashed, per instructions, I held Bixby, Power and Volume up for over 20 seconds and nothing happened.
On previous phones, I always had to hold vol down, bixby power and when the screen went black switch to vol up - but when I attempted this - phone booted to bootloader warner and then just continued to boot loop.
Do I need to start over by flashing stock or can I return to download mode and attempt to boot into recovery again?

The magisk bootloooop work it not download mode is cant hhow

For the life of me, I cannot boot into recovery mode after flashing the Twrp File. I flashed stock and then redid all of the steps, but after flashing the modified Twrp, three finger boot (Vol Up, Power, Bixby) ) do not go to recovery. Nothing happens at all. I pressed all three at the same time - held for over 60 seconds and nothing happens.
So, how am I supposed to get into recovery after flashing TWRP?

did you try this combo?

Unless I am blind, I can't see a description in the message you posted. It does not give the combo which Is why I asked you ? Also - how do you turn off the device in Download Mode? I have tried several different ways and none worked. I held power for 20 seconds and it would not turn off while I was in download mode.... Do you know another way ?

Power off your device and then vol up bixby and power key combination. I hope this helps..

I am sure I sound like a noob - but I honestly am not able to turn off phone when it is download mode.
How do you power off the device when it is download mode? Have you tried doing that? I have - and It won't turn off - at least I can't seem to figure out how to do it? If you have done it, tell me how you did it please....
has anyone been able to flash twrp and go thru all of the steps? I must be doing something wrong if others are able to do it and I feel really stupid - but for some reason, I just can't get into recovery from Download Mode. (can't turn off phone from Download mode) any suggestions are appreciated.

my S10+ got bootloop and won't boot twrp even though a factory reset is done before flash, btw my S10+ is G975F

I tried doing it all again but it then it went through a boot loop were it just kept rebooting and now it just has a blank screen. I am new to this but I made sure that all the things that I was using were for my device. I'm just stuck on what to do now to get it back. Enter download mode (hold [VOLUME-DOWN][HOME][POWER] until buzz, then release [POWER]). At the first download mode screen where it says you can press volume-down to boot normally, press volume-down to boot normally.

If the advice above didn´t work (nothing happened when pressing the usual VOL down - home - power etc), this is how I managed:
I tried booting around 25 times with the power button released at different times. Did not work.
Tried to insert battery when pressing the 3 buttons. Did not work.
I let the battery run completely empty. Started charging the phone and pressing the 3 buttons. Did not work.
I charged the phone full (with booting the whole time....needed to put it somewhere quiet). After estimating it was full, I pulled out the battery, preparing to send it to mobiletechvideos.com (they saved me before). After a few hours I wanted to see the error message so I could write them. When I inserted the battery, I got the regular download mode! Nowthen, would I dare to boot it since I am not really sure what to flash to my phone?
I rebooted, and now the phone is back to normal. OTOH, I will not try to flash CWM/TWRP again, so goodbye custom roms (Omega )
you are a life saver!

This happens...
This happens to almost everyone at some point of time. There is no need to worry as you just need to flash recovery like TWRP or CWM. To shed some light on this issue... boot loops mainly happen when you uses the incorrect version of software with your ROM or stock firmware. By using youtube you can look at the videos of your phone model and find the recovery version number needed.
For anyone who has a Note 3 T-Mobile phone who is still stuck! I am willing to make a video to show how to fix this and provide all the firmware/version numbers + links in one bundled location to make it easier.
ALL PHONES ARE VERY specific... ONLY USE THE CORRECT FIRMWARE FOR YOUR MODEL PHONE
Again, if you have a Samsung Note 3 T-Mobile, model number SM-N900T and are still lost. Let me know so I can shot a video and bundle files needed.

Don't be scared by this... just choose the correct versions before blindly trying to install a ROM. Also, only use links from main sources if you dont fell like auditing the code!
Hi guys, sorry for might be late about helping you now years later... But recently I've found something interesting about fixing this issue.
*****
Fix: (100% working in Galaxy Grand Prime SM-G530H)
UPDATED: More detailed info!
# Before flashed Recovery or Root:
1. Root device using Odin or any other rooting known workaround.
2. Backup Recovery (optional), and Kernel using Rashr (available on PlayStore).
3. Flash Custom Recovery (TWRP), using Odin PC software or TWRP android app.
4. Flash backed-up Kernel.img file to Boot partition using TWRP install section.
5. Reboot system (It may take a few time to boot)
# After flashed Recovery or Root: (accidentally or without knowing)
1. Search online and download your exact Phone Stock Kernel.
2. Follow *before flashed* above ↑ from 3rd.
Bonus info:
Even after flashing TWRP, you might be able to Boot device yet, by going to TWRP → Advanced → Reboot system. (It bypass bootlooping to Recovery, while: “Set Warranty Bit : Recovery”).
That's all! Try at your own, then share it!

[Q] Need Help - SM T705 stuck on start up screen.

Greetings XDA Developers,
Newbie here. I own a Samsung Galaxy Tab S (SM T705). I was able to root it a few weeks ago and I decided to install a custom recovery (TWRP) using an app from the Playstore named "TWRP Manager". I didn't hesitate to do so using this method because I was able to install TWRP on my GT I9300 successfully from the past using this app. However, after being prompted by the app that the recovery was successfully installed and needs to reboot the device, my tab was stuck on start up screen ( See attached photo ). I tried long pressing the power button but nothing happened. I waited until the device ran out of battery and when it did, I plugged in the charger and I'm back at the same screen. After google-ing some possible solutions, I tried to boot it into recovery but was unsuccessful, however, I was able to boot into download mode.
I'd like to ask for the help of some "experienced" users in this forum on how to solve this problem. And if possible, I'm hoping that flashing a stock recovery using Odin wouldn't be my last resort.
Thank you in advance.

Your going to need some fast hands for this one! I've ran into this lots of times when testing kernels and such. Any force reboot by holding Power Button+ Home Button + BOTH Volume buttons all at the same time. Press and hold that combo until the screen goes black. Then once the screen goes black quickly press and hold Power Button+ Home Button + Volume down buttons all at the same time. You should no enter into download mode. You said that you drained the battery so I would suggest charging it in download mode for 30 minutes or so then flash TWRP with Odin.
Your going to need to flash stock recovery or TWRP with Odin to override the boot and get it working
The TWRP app doesn't always work in which is why I use Odin.

As a side note for future reference, hard reset is simply hold POWER + VOL DOWN.
As said all you need do is boot to download mode and flash recovery.
If you're on lollipop you may need to immediately boot into recovery after flashing to make it stick.

Hey, thanks for the heads up. But how exactly do I "immediately boot into recovery after flashing to make it stick." Since after I flash recovery via odin, it would obviously automatically reboot my device? sorry for the dumb question.

You either be quick and hold POWER + HOME + VOL UP as soon as it reboots or you uncheck auto reboot in Odin then restart manually.

So did the solution work? I am looking at a SM-T705 on ebay being sold for parts with similar symptoms. hoping I can fix it for a great bargain.

Flawless s10+ magisk root and twrp recovery

1 make sure bootloader is unlocked if not go to settings, about phone, tap build 5 times, go back to main settings page, go to developer settings and enable USB debugging and OEM/bootloader unlocking turn off phone and Hold vol down and bixby and plug in phone to computer to put it in download mode follow what it says to go to unlock boot loader, then unlock it and reboot then check if unlocked by going to settings, developer, and see if the OEM lock is greyed out or still checked if so your good.
2 if it's unlocked do a factory reset
3 Set up phone and skip everything
4 Turn developer mode on and enable USB debugging
5 make sure you have latest firmware so you can extract that AP file
6 Install magisk manager if you dont have it
7 Use magisk to patch AP file by hitting install as if you were going to install it then got to patch file and select AP file and it will start patching and create an file in your download folder
8 Take the new file and copy it to your computer
9 Install odin if you haven't
10 Put the new file in the AP slot in odin and uncheck auto reboot and everything else
11 Turn off phone
12 Hold vol down and bixby and plug in phone to computer to put it in download mode
13 Flash the AP file with odin
14 Once done flashing hold power and vol down till it turns off then quickly hold vol up with power and Bixby to boot to recovery
15 Wipe data and factory reset
16 Then select power off
17 Then like you were going to boot into recovery hold vol up with Bixby and power but once you see the 1st warning screen come back let the buttons go
18 It should boot up you phone like normal but now you have root
19 Now download the TWRP app, find your phone model and download the img file but don't flash it yet
20 Now open magisk and patch the file you just downloaded
21 Now you can flash the file that was just created with the TWRP app
22 You should have TWRP recovery now but to check turn off the phone and boot to recovery with the Bixby, vol up and power buttons then once you are done confirming go to reboot and select power off then boot the phone by holding the buttons like you would to get to recovery but only till the first warning screen comes back then let them go and it should boot back rooted like before
23 If you have any problems try to reboot as I just explained again and if that still doesn't work the device may have encrypted it self so you will have to boot back to recovery and select wipe, format data, type in yes and confirm then go back to wipe option and select factory reset then go to reboot, power off, and hold buttons like booting to recovery then let go when the first warning screen comes back
24 You will need to setup you device again but its unencrypted now...enjoy!!!
Just remember to boot your phone with vol up, Bixby, and power till the first warning screen comes back EVERYTIME!!! If you are in recovery power off then then hold the buttons. If you just power on by holding power you might lose root.
Also if you think that You Bricked your device Because something just seems totally wrong Hold down the Bixby button and volume down plugin cable to you computer and other end into your phone and it should go into download mode then you can re Flash the stock firmware using odin and if you like to redo all these steps all over again but make sure you don't Miss a step and do it verbatim

Also if you think that You Bricked your device Because something just seems totally wrong Hold down the Bixby button and volume down plugin cable to you computer and other end into your phone and it should go into download mode then you can re Flash the stock firmware using odin and if you like to redo all these steps all over again but make sure you don't Miss a step and do it verbatim.

Just remember to boot your phone with vol up, Bixby, and power till the first warning screen comes back EVERYTIME!!! If you are in recovery power off then then hold the buttons. If you just power on by holding power you might lose root.

Hi... just ask..
if i power on by holding power then i lose root, in that condition then i have to reflash all over again?
and in topjohnwu instruction here https://topjohnwu.github.io/Magisk/install.html#samsung-system-as-root
he said that i have to flash not only magisk patched.
tar, but also with BL, CP and Csc too...
did you only flash AP only?
thank you...

Re
No you would just have to do a factory reset and you can do that right on your phone if you go to recovery
But
But yes is far as flashing I did a full factory Flash with all the files but then I did a second Flash with the patched magisk file I just flashed in the AP slot Then I set up the phone but skipping everything not putting any information in it and then shut off the phone booted it to recovery and did a factory reset But of course that in the rest of it is all in My instructions

Look all you really have to do is hold down the volume up Bixby and power at the same time until the 1st warning screen comes back on then let it go if you power it up like this every single time you will still have root if you try to power it would just the power button you're going to lose root and then you have to do a factory reset but if you want to go against what I say and just hold the power button-down and lose root then that's up to you if you wanna be doing a factory reset every time

Just remember to patch the twrp file with magisk
Then you can flash the file it creates in downloads with the twrp app

Can I use this method with snapdragon S10 with unlocked bootloader ?

Yes but you have to use a different magisk version for the snapdragon models that have an unlocked bootloader, and in order to flash TWRP, you must install firmware from the Chinese S10 (I'm assuming that you have the Hong Kong S10)
Sent from my Galaxy S10 using XDA Labs
Like I said you can try...

The twrp is so far only for exynos
But it might work for snapdragon
But I have no Idea
I don't know anyone who has tried it yet
Maybe Google if someone else has
