i have two g nex that i want to use to switch my service over to vz from sprint.....anyone have any screens they willing to sell?
please let me know
Nexus 4 not an option, so what do I do now?
Here's my question: Sprint Galaxy Nexus owners, do I buy it, or should I get something else.
I really want AOSP. I'm really tired of physical and capacitive buttons. I currently have the SGSII Epic 4G Touch. I want a Google phone.
So, has this phone lived up to your expectations? What do you hate about it? Is it just freaking awesome? Ready? GO!
I'm kind of in the same position as you, I cannot get the Nexus 4 on VZW. I'm really not upset about it, I'm very happy with the Gnex, especially on CM10. Can't speak for Sprint but as for the phone I'm still happy with it after 8 months, and plan to keep it for the foreseeable future.:good: Like you said, its hard to go wrong with AOSP.
How's your battery life? My E4GT has been nothing been a pain, battery-wise.
Battery life is not great. I'm using the OEM extended battery and I still have to have a charger at work.
Drop your sprint contract (is it close to expiring?) if you can. Sell your epic 4g touch and switch to straight talk and buy a nexus 4. I used to have an e4gt flashed on virgin mobile and the sprint service I got was horrible. My new set up is much better. Also your monthly bill savings will make up for the cost of the phone fast.

I've been considering that, but my savings would be negligible since we're on a family plan. Also, since I get to be selfish and take everyone's upgrades, I'll be able to hand-me-down the Galaxy Nexus when something cool comes out... I'm so lost! I really have been seriously considering just buying the damn Nexus 4 and shopping other plans off contract. Is it really that much better?
...and, Target has the GNex for $49.99 right now.
I just bought a Sprint Galaxy Nexus and have right now an Epic 4G Touch! I am sure it'll be worth it. I bought it for around 225 off contract and ill sell this for around 150$ so it's like I spent only 70 bucks. I wouldn't panic. If you wanted a new phone you can sell the Gnex since it'll still hold its value. Waiting has got me nowhere and I know the Nexus 4 isn't coming to Sprint any time soon. Good luck!

I got the GNex with sprint this August.. I love this phone. The curved screen, so much dev support, Google support. Well, kinda. I been rooted since day one so always been on custom ROMs and kernels. My battery last all day with 4 hr screen on time with the extended battery that Sprint gives you for free. I say if you have LTE in your city go with the GNex. We have LTE here in San Antonio and it just keeps getting better and better. I don't know why people keep on hating on sprint, I have awesome service here.

Ok sorry if I double post this. Tapatalk has horrible cache issues.
Anyways.. long story short.. everyone should buy a good case for their phone. Asurion has the optimus g on back order.
One of my customers comes in the other day after only owning the phone for 2 days with a busted screen. At this point its DBR (damaged beyond repair) and the only other choice he had was to file an asurion claim. He decides to call himself first and the ***** told him to accept the galaxy nexus instead of replacing the optimus g. He hung up furious. So I called back using my store ID and got a different lady. She told me the optimus g is on back order. She said they would replace his optimus g for the galaxy nexus but when the optimus g is available he will be unable to exchange for the optimus G. That pissed me off. They refused to place him on a waiting list and said the galaxy nexus was equivalent to the optimus G and was his only option.
Luckily my regional manager happened to be present and he was happy to exchange the device in store. We had to ship one from another location.
Point is. **** asurion. Buy a case. A good one.
The gnex, a equivalent device?!

What else do you expect them to do when the best phone is out of stock? The only option is to offer a downgrade if it's on back order.
I don't think so. There is another quad core phone at Sprint called the Note 2.

They tried to offer me an S3, i told them to shove it. If i wanted an s3 I'd have bought one to begin with

The Sprint store tried to offer me an s3 once too. They didn't have the OG. I said I would take the Note. They said no. I couldn't understand it. My phone broke. I had insurance. I can't see me taking a broke Taurus to a dealership and them offering me a Focus. The best thing is that this time last year the Galaxy Nexus was the pinnacle of phones. Now it isn't even in the running.

Agree with the "buy a case comment" 100%
This is one of the reasons that SquareTrade made me so happy with my wife's phone. Admittedly they tried to get me to take a phone that they had no business offering (An Epic Touch 4G??? Please). I told them to not be ridiculous, in those exact words as a matter of fact, so they sent a manager out and he purchased an OG same day from a local retailer. They shipped it to me overnight and waived my deductible because they didn't have the phone in stock.
That said, while SquareTrade did right by me, none of this would have happened if I had just bought my wife some indestructible case from the get go.
Yea we had a similar issue with squaretrade and the optimus g. The "equivalent" was a evo 4g lte or a galaxy S II. Though they ended up ordering a brand new one through amazon wireless.

One of the most disappointing things about this is alot of people don't really know what they are doing to themselves when they don't know the difference between an OG and a Gnex, so they trust Sprint or Asurion, and take the downgrade, and are thus stuck with an old phone for the contract length. I paid for this phone, and the I'm not taking anything less. And just because their definition of "equal" is idiotic, doesn't mean I should have to suffer so they can save a couple bucks.

Read an article elsewhere..a lady claimed in the comment section that a sprint rep told her that LG wasn't making the phone anymore..there were many comments to the contrary
Is it possible there doing away with the cdma/sprint version?

I would hope not. Its the highest selling phone at my store. They kept the viper for such a long time and still continue to carry it even though we've only sold maybe 10 the entire last year..

This is an interesting point. How does an insurance provider determine "equality" in a handset. Anybody with half a brain should be able to look at specs and see inequalities. Dual core is less than quad core. 1.2 ghz is less than 1.5 ghz. 1 GB RAM is less than 2 GB RAM. 1750 mAh battery is less than 2100 mAh.
I get that some specs are a little more difficult. AMOLED v LCD, dpi, CPU/GPU/Chipset specs etc... but sooner or later they are going to get themselves in trouble for even offering these phones because people are going to accept these less than stellar, older phones and be very disappointed in the lack of performance they are providing. Can anyone else see a legal scenario arising from this? It's bait and switch and that's a bad precedent to be setting.
I am so grateful that I handle this in my home because my wife would have taken that ET4G SquareTrade offered.

In my 4 years at Sprint, I have had my fair share with Asurion but let me say this isn't the first time they've done this.

I don't doubt that, but they really are setting themselves up for some type of class action lawsuit, in my opinion. One customer is going to get pissed and then hundreds of customers will get invited into the legal action. Its bad business.

heard that , I hate dealing with assurion with the customers in store because when assurion pisses the customer off, they have me to yell at face to face

I hardly will handle Asurion claims with customers anymore unless I know them. Because Asurion pisses them off everytime and they yell at me like it was my fault.
Just so everyone knows, I broke my screen, and asurion is STILL claiming the LGOG is on back order. To make matters worse they offered me the Note 2, i guess they thought I'd say I didnt want it cause when I accepted it they told me that too was on back order and offered me a gs3. They've got some pair of balls.... Ive contacted the BBB and I am doing research into getting a class action lawsuit against the company

Didn't hear it from me
Equivalent "level" devices (entry, mid, flagship) released around the same time as the device in question. (GS3, Galaxy Nexus and Evo LTE. iPhone doesn't count)
Same class of device as the device in question. LGOG is classed as "phone" where the Note 2 is in that weird phone/tablet area so not the same class.
Yea I had a similar experience with Square trade where their equivalent device was a Galaxy S II and I had none of that but at least they have the ability to order a new one off of Amazon where asurion basically tells you to screw yourself :/ That is one of the main reasons we stopped selling asurion for our carriers and got ST because we got tired of customers yelling at us for something we didn't do and something the carriers didn't pay us for anyways!

I've had the note 2 and 3, and sold my brother on the 4, but stuck with the nexus myself... It went down and I came up with a lg g4 through trade. I have a guy wanting to trade his note 4 in supposedly perfect condition for this lg g4.... Good or bad idea?
I'd keep the Lg G4, it's faster, smoother and rootable.
Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
I'd keep the G4 as well. Unless you need the spen, don't think it's worth it.
I held off. I only needed it for the day really. The LG is an AT&T phone and I am a Verizon customer. The reason I have it is because I traded my spare AT&T Nexus for this LG g4 thinking I could get more money out of it. I think I should just put it up on Swappa and wait the day or so for my replacement Nexus 6 to come. Thank you guys.
So now that numerous replacement Note 7's have also been reported to catch fire or 'blow' up, what is the best course of action for the consumer?
I got my replacement at a Verizon store on 23rd September, and so far haven't had any issues.
Please advise
I'm a vzw employee. I love this phone but unfortunately I think I'm going to return mine. Mainly because I usually sell a year afterwards and I don't think there will be a market for this phone a year from now. I don't know what I want, had a 6p before this. I might go with pixel xl unfortunately.

As a VZW employee, do you know when the LG V20 pre-orders are going to be up? I'm going to return my Note 7 but I want to put the money down on a pre-order for the LG V20.
I just talked to verizon chat to setup my return. No swap. No other device. Return. End of story. The next stop after that will be to return the samsung branded accessories to bestbuy.

I just went back to my HTC 10. Took the refund route rather than forced into a phone at full price I don't want.

My only backup phone at the moment is an HTC M8. I don't know how long I can last on that.
Mine is the N4. I will keep the N7 until they do another recall then turn it in. If they release the N7 again I will get it... sometimes **** happens but no other phone beats the N7....

Won't they just blacklist all the IMEIs on major carriers eventually? You cannot sell or buy Note 7s on Swappa now!
There's already a thread in news forum - http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-note-7/how-to/samsung-looking-recall-t3475723/page1 would be easier to just keep things together.
when is the V20 coming to verizon? I think many of us are looking at the Pixel or V20?

I'm on the same boat. I keep phones for a year and sale them after I purchase the new device. In this case I don't see myself being able to sale it, which makes hard for me to keep the phone despite of how much I want to keep it.
I will consider the Pixel XL... I just don't want to give up my Note 7. Phone is beautiful, Samsung Pay, water proof.... Just too good of a phone.
