Ok sorry if I double post this. Tapatalk has horrible cache issues.
Anyways.. long story short.. everyone should buy a good case for their phone. Asurion has the optimus g on back order.
One of my customers comes in the other day after only owning the phone for 2 days with a busted screen. At this point its DBR (damaged beyond repair) and the only other choice he had was to file an asurion claim. He decides to call himself first and the ***** told him to accept the galaxy nexus instead of replacing the optimus g. He hung up furious. So I called back using my store ID and got a different lady. She told me the optimus g is on back order. She said they would replace his optimus g for the galaxy nexus but when the optimus g is available he will be unable to exchange for the optimus G. That pissed me off. They refused to place him on a waiting list and said the galaxy nexus was equivalent to the optimus G and was his only option.
Luckily my regional manager happened to be present and he was happy to exchange the device in store. We had to ship one from another location.
Point is. **** asurion. Buy a case. A good one.
The gnex, a equivalent device?!

What else do you expect them to do when the best phone is out of stock? The only option is to offer a downgrade if it's on back order.
I don't think so. There is another quad core phone at Sprint called the Note 2.

They tried to offer me an S3, i told them to shove it. If i wanted an s3 I'd have bought one to begin with

The Sprint store tried to offer me an s3 once too. They didn't have the OG. I said I would take the Note. They said no. I couldn't understand it. My phone broke. I had insurance. I can't see me taking a broke Taurus to a dealership and them offering me a Focus. The best thing is that this time last year the Galaxy Nexus was the pinnacle of phones. Now it isn't even in the running.

Agree with the "buy a case comment" 100%
This is one of the reasons that SquareTrade made me so happy with my wife's phone. Admittedly they tried to get me to take a phone that they had no business offering (An Epic Touch 4G??? Please). I told them to not be ridiculous, in those exact words as a matter of fact, so they sent a manager out and he purchased an OG same day from a local retailer. They shipped it to me overnight and waived my deductible because they didn't have the phone in stock.
That said, while SquareTrade did right by me, none of this would have happened if I had just bought my wife some indestructible case from the get go.
Yea we had a similar issue with squaretrade and the optimus g. The "equivalent" was a evo 4g lte or a galaxy S II. Though they ended up ordering a brand new one through amazon wireless.

One of the most disappointing things about this is alot of people don't really know what they are doing to themselves when they don't know the difference between an OG and a Gnex, so they trust Sprint or Asurion, and take the downgrade, and are thus stuck with an old phone for the contract length. I paid for this phone, and the I'm not taking anything less. And just because their definition of "equal" is idiotic, doesn't mean I should have to suffer so they can save a couple bucks.

Is it possible there doing away with the cdma/sprint version?

This is an interesting point. How does an insurance provider determine "equality" in a handset. Anybody with half a brain should be able to look at specs and see inequalities. Dual core is less than quad core. 1.2 ghz is less than 1.5 ghz. 1 GB RAM is less than 2 GB RAM. 1750 mAh battery is less than 2100 mAh.
I get that some specs are a little more difficult. AMOLED v LCD, dpi, CPU/GPU/Chipset specs etc... but sooner or later they are going to get themselves in trouble for even offering these phones because people are going to accept these less than stellar, older phones and be very disappointed in the lack of performance they are providing. Can anyone else see a legal scenario arising from this? It's bait and switch and that's a bad precedent to be setting.
I am so grateful that I handle this in my home because my wife would have taken that ET4G SquareTrade offered.

I don't doubt that, but they really are setting themselves up for some type of class action lawsuit, in my opinion. One customer is going to get pissed and then hundreds of customers will get invited into the legal action. Its bad business.

I hardly will handle Asurion claims with customers anymore unless I know them. Because Asurion pisses them off everytime and they yell at me like it was my fault.
Just so everyone knows, I broke my screen, and asurion is STILL claiming the LGOG is on back order. To make matters worse they offered me the Note 2, i guess they thought I'd say I didnt want it cause when I accepted it they told me that too was on back order and offered me a gs3. They've got some pair of balls.... Ive contacted the BBB and I am doing research into getting a class action lawsuit against the company

Didn't hear it from me
Equivalent "level" devices (entry, mid, flagship) released around the same time as the device in question. (GS3, Galaxy Nexus and Evo LTE. iPhone doesn't count)
Same class of device as the device in question. LGOG is classed as "phone" where the Note 2 is in that weird phone/tablet area so not the same class.
Yea I had a similar experience with Square trade where their equivalent device was a Galaxy S II and I had none of that but at least they have the ability to order a new one off of Amazon where asurion basically tells you to screw yourself :/ That is one of the main reasons we stopped selling asurion for our carriers and got ST because we got tired of customers yelling at us for something we didn't do and something the carriers didn't pay us for anyways!

Well, I got my Galaxy Nexus on the 21st, was very excited to get it, but I ended up returning it yesterday because I didn't like it very much compared to my Epic Touch. I had used my brother's upgrade (he doesn't care much about phones.) so I could get the early upgrade pushed to my account (~$45 charge). Anyways, when I was returning it, my main reason for returning was battery with screen time was terrible! (2 hours maximum for me, even on lowest brightness) and speakers weren't loud at all. Otherwise, it was a really good phone.
Anyways, when I went in, I told him I wanted to exchange the phone. He continued to tell me that having two web browsers (stock and ICS+) was draining the battery, my 1 minute screen idle screen off time was too high and that I had NFC checked, which was draining battery the entire time...(even though my complaint was screen on, not standby). After making me feel like an idiot, he told me I should just put the phone on Craigslist to trade it out for the Epic Touch (lol?). After I confirmed I wanted an exchange, he told me I'll have to put the phone back on the upgraded line myself, so he sent me over to their phone with no number to call (had to look it up on the device I was returning. lol!) I asked if they could do it for me and said only customer service can do it for me...kind of seems strange a SPRINT store couldn't do it for me. So I took about 15 minutes getting on the phone with someone, an additional 15 minutes getting the phones swapped back, then finally I had someone helping me with the exchange. Sprint said my upgrade fee is irreversible, that it changed my contract and that I could only use it at Sprint to upgrade my device. They also said my restocking fee and activation fee wouldn't be waived. While they were processing the Galaxy Nexus return, I called BestBuy, told them of my situation and they told me to return the phone and come in (the Epic Touch is $149.99 at BB anyways), so I went back into the store and just told them to return the phone and I'll be on my way. Well, they took about an hour processing my return AFTER I came back in and once again they said I can only use my early upgrade at a Sprint store. After I left activating my old Epic (SPH-D700), I went straight to BestBuy, used my early upgrade there, and got out in 30 minutes. I'm just surprised with how badly Sprint treated their customers.
Anyone else get terrible experience like this at Sprint? My total visit was from 10:40 to 1:00 PM!
Just saying now...AVOID THIS STORE!
9810 Baymeadows Rd # 1 Jacksonville, FL 32256
(904) 565-4400
P.S. I gave a family member my old Epic Touch, which is why I couldn't just simply go back to it.
P.S.S. I am glad to be back!
EDIT: They waived my restocking fee, but activation fee still there. lol

Haha, I'm probably going to hold out for the SGSIII. This phone was definitely faster, too. Nothing but Exynos for me.
I must say that I had a similar problem when I returned in my Photon (within my 30 days) for the Epic Touch on launch day. I had already called cs beforehand to make sure that I wouldn't have any problems. The manager at the local store was a real ***** and insisted that I be charged a $30 restocking fee. She even made a second invoice for the return. I called cs back and they refunded $15 as they couldn't find the invoice in their system. How convenient. Needless to say, I will do my phone purchases at Best Buy from now on, as they never give me any hassles. The Sprint GS3 will be an S4 as the Verizon leaked one will...so Evo S4 vs GS3 S4. Or maybe the Note successor? I'm gonna pass on the new Photon...

Sorry to hear about your crappie experience at your Sprint store... I picked up a Galaxy Nexus a few days ago (5) at my local Sprint store and was not impressed with it at all. Battery life was horrible stock and not much better rooted and romed. Took it back this morning and didn't have one issue returning it. No restock fee or having to call anyone to do it. Just unrooted and reset it, put it back in its box and told the CS rep I didn't like it. They reactivated my EVO and made sure that my upgrade was still good.

The US version of the S3 isn't getting the Quadcore Samsung Exynos chip, it's not compatible with US LTE/4G. The US version is going to get the Dualcore Qualcom S4 chip.

I hate how sales reps always seem to take returns personally, especially when you didn't buy the phone from them in the first place so you aren't taking commission out of their pocket.
I always purchase my phones through Sprint's website unless someone local is offering a deal that can't be beat and if I need to return that phone I take it into the local corporate store as is allowed.

Thats why i buy from Sam's Club. they give you 30 day exchanges too even though sprint changed their policy, usually have the phone on release day with no lines, lower price (and save money on taxes too in CA bc how they ring it up), and while ur waiting on activation u head on down to the food section and grab urself a polish dog!

They seemed a lot more helpful when I went in to buy the phone (they even sold me it a day early). Sucks to see how much they change when you want to return something.
As for the s4, I am not going to believe it until Samsung announces it. This exact thing happened last year with this phone. Remember when everyone stated this phone was going to get the Tegra 2?

Absolutely the worst customer service of any provider out there. They don't give 2 ****s about their customers and that is very clear. Not only do they offer extremely poor customer service, but their rude on top of it. T-Mobile has excellent CS in comparison hands down...(and yes, once my contract expires I will never go back to sprint, I made a mistake and now I'm stuck in this pool of ****).
If you think their stores are bad, try calling them on the phone, there they REALLY don't give a ****....on the line with some fat ghetto chick that's filling her nails and can't speak proper Inglish, now that's a treat for ya! I recently had a 2 hour argument with them about no service at my house and at work (you know, the usual no text coming through at times, calls that never come through, and lets no speak about their 3g speeds...) . Nothing was done to help me, I even explained that I have a 3 year old at home with the wife and that it's vital that I don't miss calls in case of an emergency etc...but apparently my word doesn't jack since it shows that my area has coverage on their system. Their final response was: "Sir, that's what our 14 day return policy is for!" Bout lost it as you can imagine...!:banghead:
Sorry for the novel, saw the title and couldn't help it, but since that experience I have developed a deep hatred for sprint and their horrible CS. I ****ing hate them, but I'm stuck ATM...(and no I'm not spending 700$ to get out of it..).

Let it charge for a little while called CS from my old phone and let them know I was wanted to activate my new phone, and in less than 5 minutes I was up and running. I've sent other to Amazonwireless and none have been dissapointed. A co-worker save $100 on the lates Droid4 too.
Anyone ever have just... an Incredibly (no pun intended) bad time with hardware?
Here I am on my 4th device in 13 months.
It started when I allowed a best buy mobile rep talk me into the moto x2.
Phone #1 had a bum USB dock that wouldn't transfer data.
X2 numero dos had a proclivity to stutter all the time...root fixed that but then the headphone jack comes loose and all is broken.
X2 #3 same as #2 for headphone jack issues.
I fought long and hard and vzw offered me a slew of 4g devices which I chose a droid charge from.
But oops, cannot change a 3g device for a 4g device on warranty so now I get to choose from a myriad of garbage moto phones (wow a droid 3 or original x!) Or an incredible 2.
Now here I am with an incredible 2.
This came after I was offered and early upgrade over Christmas which I said no to, because I was five months invested in my current phone, why should I spend another $200 five months in??
Instead I called retentions and complained loudly and I got a pre owned incredible 2.
This phone has been an absolute dream. Even stock it is faster than than the x2s dual core CPU.
But getting this device in January I was warned that I am still in the moto x2 warranty period ending July 5th.
July 6th my phone started overheating and my screen will not light up with any images, just a dull black which I can still unlock answer etc.
Yeah. Freaking July 6th.
Now it happens just having it in my pocket.when it cools down all is good again...
As a last resort today being out of warranty anyhow I took the phone apart entirely, I took the motherboard assembly off and used compressed air to blow as much as I could behind the heat sync but this is just a broken phone I suppose because after reassembly it still isn't working.
So..long story longer, I went to a corporate store and they tell me I have two options, pay $500+ for a new device or get a second line and change to share everything for $50 more per month...
Or call 611.. which I do.
They tell me that I can pay $500+ or add a line (it'd be an extra $600/year I remind him) and he says sorry.
He can offer me an early upgrade that I'm asking for in March.
I said to him gee thanks, you are not really helping me, the website tells me exactly the same thing. Derrrrr. Dumb.
Basically, i was offered an early upgrade in December by a lackwitted tier 2 tech support agent and now because I didn't have $200 for a phone I knew would be severely updated I am being shaken down for a new handset.
I'm pretty upset to be honest, as I spend over $130/month with these guys and they just won't work with me.
So the conversation ends with me saying that since att has their own 4g where I live and that makes them an option for me, let's do math:
See, previously Verizon was the only service here that worked well. now I hear that att 4g covers here quite well...
$230 to cancel Verizon early
$200 for a brand new phone on att
------
$430
Vs the $569.00 for a galaxy nexus I wanted to get for $99 early upgrade.
Actually less after I get $50-$100 for spare parts on eBay for this incredible 2...
Assinine and no way to do business at all.

So I bought this on August 7th and have had no issues with it. I plan to use it until its dead (2 or 3 more years). I love my dinc 2.
I don't see a good reason to upgrade, even if I could. The newer phones are just faster, and have better displays, NTM the short battery life and that they break in 6 months.

$200 for a brand new phone on att
------
$430
Vs the $569.00 for a galaxy nexus I wanted to get for $99 early upgrade.
Actually less after I get $50-$100 for spare parts on eBay for this incredible 2...
Assinine and no way to do business at all.

Welcome to Verizon my friend, I had to literally swear at a Verizon rep to replace my 3rd Droid X2 with the Inc2 and this was after they said they didn't have any available and I called them out because they had started a promo on their website THAT SAME DAY for inc2's. I swear they train their employees to not help customers at all.
Thanks so much for the replies guys.
honestly I love the phone...I wanted a galaxy nexus, and am offering to start my co tract over again on their new terms where it isn't unlimited.
These people should be happy that they get me on another two years of my life and now get to charge me more money for service.
You all would love how I ended the call;
(After pointing out they encouraged me to cancel vs helping me)
" Well I honestly hope that for quality reasons this call was recorded and you made notes so tomorrow when I call back they can know exactly why I'm cancelling service. Thanks for having me be a part of Verizon wireless and have a great day!"

Was the X2 really that bad of a phone?
I had to choose from the dinc 2 or the X2. I made a great choice

i had an almost identical experience with a past phone. this is my last vzw phone. their network is ok, but i resent having to root my phone to get rid of their garbage apps, their prices are absurd, and their customer service is a nightmare. im switching to a gsm iphone and going prepaid.

The x2 had major memory management issues for all of the 2.2 releases. It would not stream music, or play any music for that matter without skips, crackles, hiccups and pops.
The tegra 2 had NOTHING to do with it, aside from some pretty looking games (that always get ported to other devices) it would not use the second core anyhow as android 2.2 and 2.3 as far as i know do not use multi core cpus efficiently.
the hardware issues killed me. The headphone jack coming unsoldered TWICE is a poor build quality.
I've no idea if Google intends to put their name on a product that Moto makes after purchasing the mobility department but they should think twice because the ONLY phone i have read good reviews on is the Aria HD and thats one phone out of what... four years worth of handsets?

My problem is that I live in a largely rural area, but a town of around 20,000 that is covered by whatever Reno has.
If reno NV has LTE, we have it. If they have 3g, we have it.
But in lake tahoe you cannot build a new cellular tower due to environmental concerns, therefore you work with what you have.
Verizon has a great deal with the casinos in the area and therefore has coverage EVERYWHERE.
Like i said, i was TOLD that att and their LTE is much better than their 3g was, but i know for a fact people around here on ATT hate it.
Tmobile is a joke and works only on main drags of streets, and sprint is about as bad as Tmobile.
So as all the new networks come online they cannot build new towers here, just work with what they got. The broader spectrum of LTE seems to help the signal for ATT, and the coverage VZW has due to being the first provider gives them the best network over all.
Sucks... but yea.
Had 4 Droid x2s before my incredible2. Music always popped and phone would reboot randomly all the time. So glad I pushed Verizon until they gave me this phone. The problems it has are very little when compared to x2.
Sent from my Incredible 2 using xda premium
Yea the X2 had amazing potential but in the end it failed, locked boot loader, couldn't play music for sh*t, the 2nd core wasn't utilized very well, low graphic memory, etc, etc
That sucks man. I would look more into ATT if I were you. If it seems like the people you know have just as bad of experiences with them then i would just keep calling VZW until they offer you something better. I usually use a line like "I've been dealing with this issue for x amount of time and nobody that I have spoken with has even acknowledged the problems that I have already gone through! What can you do to make me feel like I should stay with your company?" Don't waste your breath on the regular care reps, the can't do much for you. Talk to loyalty/retentions. That line got me $400 worth of free products and movie channels when dish network lost amc and has worked on many other occasions. Shift the focus to all of the problems you have had with your phones and the fact that you don't feel like a valued customer instead of focussing just on the phone you have now.
Best of luck man. I hope this helps!

I don't think you have bad luck...I have replaced quite a few devices myself and never abuse them.
I do buy the insurance though thru vzw because I live in Vegas. It gets hot here and puts stress on the phones. I also change my synthetic oil every 5k instead of 8k because of the weather.
The good news is that if you want to stay on vzw you can buy on Craigslist to save a bit of money. Eventually when I feel there is a more solid phone I will do this (the latest phone has never been important to me)
Verizon has been terrible as of late. Another one of my family lines also has insurance and I don't even want to begin with the last issue i had with that claim.
In Vegas we have shops that can actually fix phones for you...have you considered this route?

I've been pretty fortunate, going from a D1 (that is still working - gave it to a friend in need) to the Inc2, and (knock on wood) have had no issues.

Yes and no... I can't be without the handset and have no other phone.
I remember Vegas. Cellular depot on sahara was great for fixing phones.
Yeah, I'm in lake Tahoe now. There aren't any repair shops here so sending out is what happens.
If this was an att phone popping a sim out would be easy.
Perhaps a trip to reno would find me a repair person... in the past I'd spend hours with the company arguing my point. Now I don't have time between work and family.

if anyone is still looking
So here are the end results.
1. Verizon did offer me an early upgrade last november or december.
-- And now because they "lost too much money" they have decided to stop early upgrades for users. So basically I am screwed in this regard. I found it laughable and even told the rep how Verizon posted over a BILLION DOLLAR PROFIT recently, she seemed like she had no idea what that even meant.
2. Even retentions is not willing to work with me on this. The circumstances are not allowing for it, according to the rep I spoke to (pretty much his exact wording)
3. They are offering this:
OPTION #1 - Get a certified pre owned device for $329 (this would be a motorola razr or less money would give me a bunch of garbage options)
OPTION #2 - Add a line, and this will give me the ability to get a new phone as a new contract phone. But of course adds about $600/year to my contract
OPTION #3 - Buy a new device off the internet, beware of stolen phones, apparently verizon keeps a blacklist of stolen devices.
OPTION #4 - Spend the $500+ on a new device from VZW new retail in box.
I am so frustrated. Guess that i am screwed. They dont care.
id probably leave verizon in your situation. though, id leave anyway, so maybe that suggestion is a little bit slanted.
if you aren't going to leave, id try to find something on ebay.

Yeah anytime a phone is reported lost or stolen the esn is blacklisted. If you buy one local (like Craigslist) make the person meet you at a VZW store so you can have them check the esn before you pay for it. If you buy one online make sure the place you buy it from is reputable and has some buyer protection built in.

I've been with T-Mobile insurance, Asurion since the G1. I'm planning on getting the Nexus 4 (THIS IS NOT A NEXUS 4 THREAD DO NOT TURN IT INTO ONE!!!!) should I drop the T-Mobile insurance and go with a different company... Options I have looked up are SquareTrade & Ensquared. If you know of another company I'm all ears. Thanks.
Ive heard that you can even insure it through some companies like state farm or whatever. Dont quote me on it, someone told me that a while back but I never looked into it. If they do id imagine its an addon type thing....

Dont rely only on me, but I am pretty sure they will, so long as you are on a monthly plan, not prepaid. Verify that though!
I have heard a few times that using Asurion is a bit more expensive than other options, just fyi. It is convenient though.
Ya I'm going to ask a dude I know that works for them tomorrow. It is cheaper with the other companies with a cheaper deductible it seems, well I'll see what he says and go from there.

I use "I take extreme care for my devices and know how to fix them should something happen to them insurance" for all insurance companies rip you off. I'll tell you my story with my HTC touch pro 2 that I had gotten replaced via insurance.....
(Short version)
Phone flew down steps landed on concrete floor. Turned into confetti.
Called asurion. 100 bucks for deductible. After paying over 200 in monthly bills.(could have bought a brand new one from eBay for 150 at the time, didn't realize this till after I replaced it)
Got replacement, didn't work. Got second replacement. Still didn't work. Got third replacement(was extremely pissed by now) and ripped apart both 2nd replacement and 3rd and combined all the good parts to make a good phone.
And ever since then, I will never waste my money on insurance for my phone. It's nothing but a waste of money.

Ya I understand all that lol. But I go out and camp, fish, go boating, drink, and house parties and what not (immature 23 year old) so I've used my insurance a few times; once with my G1 (stolen) twice with my MyTouch 3G (stolen, and then dropped which caused a weird ear piece sound while on call). So I like insurance and haven't been screwed over. Never had any issues with my G2X or the S3 so I've grown up a little and love my phones more now, haha.
I was going to ask the same thing but given that you asked it already, I'd like to see other responses. So far I've only had SquareTrade Warranty on multiple devices. I still haven't had to file a claim but the thing that I like is if I sell one of my devices, I can cancel my plan and get a prorated refund. I'm not sure if other companies do that.
I recently got my Samsung Galaxy S3 and haven't made a decision on what company to choose. Ensquared is cheaper and they claim to cover theft and accidental, all for $59 for 1 year. If anybody has dealt with them, can you please give us some insight?
I just went to T-Mobile's trade in program to see what I would get for my GS3. The T999 fetches a pretty penny - 225 bucks. On top of that, the "new" T999L only gets 190 and the Galaxy Note 2 gets 265. A 64GB iPhone 5 is 269.99 for comparison.
Looks like T-Mobile wants to buy back as many T999s as possible, probably anticipating an uptick in exchanges on the heels of the LTE model launching.
Interestingly enough, this is much better than their father's day trade-in deal for the iPhone since it applies to any phone. Something I'm thinking about but I don't have the cash to pay the down payment up front and I'm pretty sure you still have to pay up front if you go to the store as well (although I'm not sure, I haven't called).
Just thought I would post this since this is even more than what HTC was offering on their competitor trade-up offer!

You have to have the down payment as the trade in credit can take weeks to be processed. I was offered 225 as well. But I ended up selling mine while it was still hot for enough to out down for a note 2 for the wife and n4 for me. Got tired of the Samsung game.

Yeah that was my idea too. Seems kind of silly they can't just do a quick in-store inspection and give you your credit. All they have to do is power it up, make sure its not rooted, plug it into a USB charger, and check for damage. Wouldn't take more than 5 minutes total and would dramatically increase sales for T-Mobile if everyone knew they could trade in their phone - T-Mobile still makes a profit, gets new customers and upgrades old ones, and the best part is that it moves them closer to having everyone on LTE so HSPA can be phased out sooner or left for customers that don't care about their network speed.

That's all I saw of your post.
Just looked on eBay at recently sold phones... Average seems to be around 250 but mine is in MINT condition - hell one with a cracked screen sold for 250... The Titanium Grey is selling higher than the others (probably because its the rarest filtering by listing) which is what I happen to have. Prices are all over the place on Craigslist.
I've had eBay for years but never sold anything on there. Too bad my PayPal account got frozen or I'd consider it.
Still wish T-Mobile would just inspect it in the store though, much less of a hassle. lol. I suppose I can call them and see if they can just bill the phone to the account - we've had them for forever.

If I had a regular SIM card I would just use my Samsung Captivate for a little bit while I sold my SGS3 (its really not a bad phone, hell LiquidSmooth 2.6 is even out for that old thing and I'm in a refarmed market to boot so I wouldn't lose 3G) but I don't so yeah.
It doesn't surprise me that people aren't biting on Craigslist. Although here in Denver that's how most people buy and sell things online, hardly anyone I know uses eBay for anything other than super rare stuff so who knows.
I think I'll have to talk to my roommate about billing it to the account if T-Mobile will let us... I don't know though, my S3 still does everything I need it to and I don't have any real issues with it, I just want something new. LMAO.

People on extremely fixed incomes can't afford 99 dollars. I'm fighting disability right now so I get 175 a month from the state of Colorado while I go through the long process with Social Security.
Oh and I fixed my PayPal account... I can't believe all I had to do was call and verify some information with them. If I had known that I would have done that back in October! So now I might just sell my GS3 and get an S4 or One. Torn between the two - don't like non-expandable storage but the One being able to run any ROM from at&t, T-Mo OR International is a HUGE plus to me.

Okay well you just made my decision a ton easier, especially if the 99 down price point is T-Mobile's now standard pricing for the S4. I couldn't really see any other reason to get the One (I really like having an SD card and "Boom Sound" is nice but I found myself covering up the speakers anyway holding the phone in landscape) and with the 7500mAh Zero Lemon battery out for the S4, its kind of a no-brainer especially since it fixes the design flaw with the speaker on the S4 and shoots the sound out the sides.
I wasn't aware that you could flash any carrier ROM to the S4. Apparently that was just in the beginning of the launch then? Sweet!

I played with one today and I really liked it.. I think I may get it and not wait for the note 3.. Really I like the note 2 and that 5'5 screen is big enough.. I Kinda think about it if i want a note 2 but rumors says the that note 3 will be 6'' screen.. I really dont think I will like it that much..
As we on the S3 we can port any carrier rom to ours but not international.. And look how long they been having 4.2.x roms. and we dont have a leak yet.. Flashing roms from international like on the s4 is priceless lol.. I really dont know why XDA had to split these forums.. And not make one. Like on the HTC Sensation.. It was one forum for all Sensations worldwide.
Not to mention that Samsung is MUCH more dev friendly than HTC. Since the One series it just seemed to me that HTC was trying to become too much like the icrap. Plus No expandable storage, no removable battery, locked bootloaders, etc.... any one of these is a deal killer in my book.

Long time Samsung Infuse 4G owner going to the Optimus G Pro. Talked to AT&T but the want $99 to upgrade. Amazon and Walmart only $59. AT&T won't price match so I need to use one of the others. Anyone ever deal with either?
Looking forward to be part of the community but it might be a few more days until I can enjoy the phone.

I took my Infuse in to AT&T store and they gave me$ 100. I got the LG Optimus G Pro for $8.

Unfortunately, they said that ended 7/25. I think I can get more for it on swappa.com.

I would recommend checking out Best Buy and see if they will price match. I've bought my last two phones there (lgog and now the g pro) and they matched the price both times. I think their official policy doesn't include cellphones, so you may want to talk to someone in person. Of course, your experience may vary.
I don't have any experience with the other ones, so I can't give you advice there.

C&P from BB site...one price match per identical item, per guest and does not apply to: Contract mobile phone devices and plans.
I really like the looks of this phone and it seems to have a really positive review from most. I would hate to wait too much longer...

Yeah, I know that's the official policy, but the employees have the power to match the price. It all depends on how nice they are (the guys in the store in Winston Salem are cool). There is no harm in asking, but it's probably best to do so in store or at least call the local store directly. Otherwise, you would probably get rejected by calling in to the main customer service number.

Thanks, I will check this out on Friday.
No harm with going to your local Walmart and getting the phone there, if Best Buy turns you down. If they don't have it, Amazon isn't a bad place to get it from either. Regardless of where you get it, its a great phone, and LG/AT&T would be the one taking care of any issues that come up under coverage from the manufacturer's warranty.
I found the info on the cross eligibility on ATT website. Shouldn't be that bad. I am using my wife's eligibility this time. Probably going to order it today, none of the stores have it locally. So it will be a few days before I can use it. That will give me time to order a case.
Edit: Called around and no one had it in stock. Ended up just ordering it on Amazon (should get it Monday 8/5). At that time, I call ATT and do the cross eligibility thing. Next steps, get battery charged, get the update, then root.

Kind of bummed. I really wanted to use this over the weekend. My fault for ordering so late in the week.
Amazon is 3 miles from my house. UPS is 3 miles from my work and I still can't get the phone until Monday. Oh well...
I really think you better wait 1 month for next LG. Not because G Pro is bad or old, but because G2 will surely be better. G2.LGMobile.com
Thanks for the heads up but it already shipped. No big deal, G2 sounds like it is going against S4 (at least in size). I really like Samsung but just wanted a change. I liked the Note 2 but the money wasn't there and the OGP fit my needs and was price right.

Quick Question:
When you trade in an Infuse for the OGP at AT&T, does the Infuse have to be Stock and unrooted? Do they accept rooted Infuses with custom ROMs for trading? Thanks!

There's a good likelihood they won't even check if it turns on.
Awesome. Thanks for the info.
Got my phone today. So far so good. Already rooted but not ready to do much more until I read a lot and then reread it. Coming from the Samsung Infuse 4G XDA forum and their great support, I hope that this community is comparable. Looking forward to participating when I can.
