Wassup All,
This thread is dedicated to problem resolution. So if you have a prob let us know. And for those who know how to fix the problem post your solution here and let everyone be happy!
BTW, here is a set of solutions for:
1) those whose WM5 lockups during the night (haven't had this for a week or so after applying the following):
a. Make sure your Today Items are compatible with WM5 (disable suspicious items by unchecking Settings->Today->Item name box);
b. Disable HKCU\Control Panel\Phone\Sleep by putting 0 value;
2) those whose GPRS connection drops when putting/receiving a call:
a. Make sure your HKLM\ConnMgr\Planner\Settings\SuspendResume contain ~GPRS! value
b. Power off your device after 5sec of GPRS connection establishment
c. Try to place/recv a call
3) those whose Bluetooth over ActiveSync have stopped working unexpectedly:
a. Make sure your desktop PC have at least one network adapter enabled (if you have no adapters you may install MS Loopback software adapter from network adapters section of hardware installation wizard)
b. On your PPC, check ActiveSync->Connections->Syncrhonize all PCs using this connection box
4) those who have dual sim card and changing of cards using flight mode off/on takes so much time:
a. Whenever you need to change sim card start Wireless Modem application, choose Irda from the drop list and tap Start. Then tap Stop and close Wireless Modem. Now you can turn off flight mode in much faster way.
5) Caller ID filter to be used during the night or busy sessions:
a. Assign a ringtone to VIP contact using Contacts->Ringtone
b. Find any silent wave/wma/mp3 file and place it to \windows or \windows\rings folder
c. When you need to receive only VIP calls choose this silent audio file from your Phone->Options->Ringtone drop list
6) To disable automatic repeat of reminder:
Set "0" to HKCU\ControlPanel\Notifications\Reminders\AutoSnooze\AutoSnoozeMins value
7) To enable MMS reception:
Try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?p=142617
Re: WM5: Problem Resolution Center
Is there anybody who progressed with ArcSoft MMS/Inbox integration?
This thread is an excellent idea. Here are a few questions/issues I am facing with WM5.
- The Alram Bug is back My alarms don't ring. Sometimes they ring once and instead of repeating, like they are supposed to, they just go back to sleep. They will only continue when i turn on the phone (whever that may be).
- ActiveSync is always running on the PPC. If I kill it manually, it comes back after a while.
- Can I hide the BT icon in the system try? Can I control the display (hide/unhide) the system tray?
- Can i customize the soft buttons (Phone, Contacts) at the bottom? i.e. assign other programs to those buttons and change the label?
- Camera and record hardware buttons do't work. This has been widely reported and I believe its under investigation.

In your particular case let's try the following: while your system is powered (power off value does not turn off your device) a set of automatic snoozes will be performed and each snooze will prolong time of power-off.
So, change HKCU\ControlPanel\Notifications\Reminders\AutoSnooze\AutoSnoozeMins to a value less than the value of system Power Off.
Example of alarm that repeats every 2 mins on a system that suppose to power-off after 3 mins of idleness:
a. Set up value of Power off (Settings->System->Power->Advanced->Turn off device if not used for) to 3 mins
b. Set the registry value to 2 mins
- Can I hide the BT icon in the system try? Can I control the display (hide/unhide) the system tray?

You can control appearance of the icon by moving \Windows\Startup\BTIcon.lnk file to and from \Windows\Startup\ folder. Example, I want tray icon so I leave the file in \Windows\Startup\ folder. Now I don't want tray icon so I move \Windows\Startup\BTIcon.lnk file to a different place and soft-reset my device to get the changes take effect. Moving operations can be performed using Windows Explorer (Cut function)
- Can i customize the soft buttons (Phone, Contacts) at the bottom? i.e. assign other programs to those buttons and change the label?

Place path and name for your applications at the value 1 of HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\:MSCProg and HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\:MSContacts registry branches.
Here is an example of starting calculator when pressing Contacts button:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\:MSContacts\1 = calc.exe OR \windows\calc.exe
WARNING! Changing of CProg branch will lead to remap of your Green Phone Button too.
ActiveSync is always running on the PPC. If I kill it manually, it comes back after a while.

I also noticed that and changed many reg values so don't remembler what helped. First try to uncheck this checkbox "ActiveSync->Connections->Syncrhonize all PCs using this connection" when not using activesync and soft-reset your device to see if it helps. Let me know on your progress pls.

Starting PocketIE with a blank page is a bit faster than loading a default page with graphics.
1) Navigate your PocketIE to "about:blank" (type and open in the address bar)
2) Open Tools->Options and set current page as your home page
Now, each time you start your PocketIE a blank page will be fastly loaded

TomTom51/WM2005/BlueTooth problems
Can someone help me?
About every minute TTN5.1 is loosing the Bluetooth GPS
(EMTAC Crux II/BTGPS) but soon after finds it again.
I'm using de TomTom5patch but can not use com5.
Also installed Bluetoothtools, using com4 for the BTGPS.
Com 5 is in use according to Bluetoothtools
(http://www.bluetooth.jazztel.es/).
Within TTN5.1 i can select the BTGPS correctly on com4.
It identifies itself as the BTGPS.
I'm not using "New Outgoing Port" or "New Incomming Port"
because i'm not sure if this is necessary.
If it's necessary, what port must I use?
Can the settings done by the TomTom5patch be reversed and how?
Which settings are affected by this patch?
How do i disable Infrared on the Himalaya?
How do i disable BT within TomTom?
My main issues seem to be
MMS- Cant get to work at all
GPRS- Cant get internet over GPRS
Camera and Notes button- Can live without these
i have the same problem with tomtom my bluetooth keeps droping out.
i'm using tomtom5.0 and the tomtom com5 patch

Automatic disconnect is known feature of Pocket Bluetooth Tools it automatically disconnects after 1 minute of BT inactivity. As I remember you can stop this feature by taping on clock icon at your today so your clock icon should not have white color but should be grey. Warning! Sorry don't have TT & BT GPS. Haven't you tried Settings->GPS Wizard for setting up your GPS?
0) Pair your GPS using serial profile
1) Set COM9 to Settings->GPS->Programs tab->"GPS program port:"
2) Set COM0, if not using ActiveSync over BT, or COM1, if using AS over BT, to Settings->GPS->Hardware tab->"GPS hardware port:"
3) Make sure your Settings->GPS->Access tab->"Manage GPS automatically" is checked
4) Open your TT and select COM9 in your device configuration window
OR
0) Pair your GPS using serial profile
1) Select your device through Settings->Connection->Bluetooth->Com Ports->New Outgoing Port->Your GPS Device
2) Tap Next
3) Select any port under "Port:", e.g. COM8
4) Open your TT->GPS Device Configuration->Select Com8
Try to check if your GPS works... if not, continue with the following:
4.1) Open Settings->GPS Wizard, Assign hardware com port to COM8 (Hardware tab) and Assign program com port to COM9 (Programs tab), check the "Manage GPS automatically" in Access tab
4.2) Select COM9 in your TT.
Good Luck! ;-)

Registry Settings -> Software Settings
Dear All,
Please pay attention that after making changes, installing new software or doing your usual software settings it is advisable to power off your device before soft-resetting.
Example, I recently setup my Inbox mail accounts and soft resetted my device in a usual way. After a soft reset I found out that none of my accounts was actually kept. So, I did setup again, powered off my device and soft-resetted it. After soft-reset all mail accounts were saved and were workable
Solution for TomTom51/WM2005/BlueTooth problems
Hi all,
I think I've found a solution.
TTN5 works for me perfect now, but when I activate the
compass so it will display itself on the navigation screen,
then the GPS is lost (and found again) about every minute.
When I deactivate the compass, there is no problem at all!
So, try this and let me know if this solves your problem.

Managed to twist around the PDA without problem but tried to install a GPS navigation system on it and got stuck in no where.
Got Tomtom 6 installed and running but i failed to connect the GPS receiver between my PDA and the device. My GPS receiver is a Cellink Bluetooth Global Positioning System which i did managed to connect it to my PDA but not recognised with the sign "?" next to the name of the device in bluetooth options and says that i need to install GPS in my PDA -_-"
Can anyone enlighten me as i'm really in need to use the navigation system and provide me "step by step" on how to install it.Thanks in advance

Resolving configuration issues with Bluetooth GPS devices & TomTom
Resolving configuration issues with Bluetooth GPS devices & TomTom
** You need to understand registry manipulation before attempting this. - So backing up your device is a mandatory exercise beforehand! **
• Step 1 – Assumes that you have TomTom already installed & working.
• Step 2 – Activate The GPS Control Panel
- If the GPS Control Panel icon IS present in the PDA “Connection Settings”, go to Step 5
- Obtain any registry editor eg. PHM is free and works well - Download and install the ARM CAB file to suit your device - (http://www.phm.lu/Products/PocketPC/RegEdit/) The Win Mobile 2003 edition CAB worked fine with Win Mobile 5 on my iMate JasJar
• Step 3 – Back up the Registry
- Using the registry editor, back up the entire device registry to a storage card
• Step 4 – Edit the Registry
- Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MASCHINE\ControlPanel\GPS Settings - Delete the DWORD marked "hide" - Add a new DWORD called "Group" and give it the value of "2" (dec) - Exit PHM by selecting Tools -> Exit - Soft reset the device & the GPS panel will now show up in your connection settings. ***Important Note!!! *** --> make sure you exit the registry editor properly by Tools -> Exit, this saves the setting.
• Step 5 – Setup the GPS
- Establish a bond (pair) with your GPS and select the checkbox for serial access.
- In the BT Manager, create a new OUTGOING port – COM8
- Go to the GPS control panel, set the GPS program port to COM0 and make sure that the hardware one, is set to None. (Select (tick) Manage GPS Automatically)
- Start TomTom, and follow the configuration wizard, select a Bluetooth GPS, and you will be presented a selection of COM ports to use: Select COM0 (Should be 1st on the list) and close TomTom
- Return to the GPS Control Panel again, now set GPS Program Port to COM8 (This is the same port that we previously set to COM0). This will free up the COM port for use by TomTom
- In BT Manager create a new OUTGOING COM port as COM0
- Back again to GPS control panel and select NONE for both hardware and program ports. (This prevents the GPS middleware application from interfering with TomTom)
- Finally, run TomTom and it should connect automatically. You may be prompted for a passkey, please check your GPS Bluetooth Device User Guide to find the default key. Wait for a couple of seconds and check the GPS settings and you should see it has connected. Don't change the GPS settings page!
I was able to set up my JasJar running Windows Mobile 5 to connect to an iPAQ BT-308 Bluetooth GPS (AKA GlobalSat BT-308) using this procedure and it worked well.
Note that this guide was modified from a guide created for Destinator PN by “Andy007” at: http://www.mtekk.com.au/Forums/tabid/56/forumid/29/postid/43361/view/topic/Default.aspx
& I have simply adapted it to use with my Universal. Kudos to Andy007.
Cheers.
To the OP: Try steps 5 onwards if the first part is daunting, if not you might need to enlist the help of someone with some registry manipulation skills.

Hi,
I have a TT GPS module and have just installed a ROM to give me 3.5.
I did have the GPS working with GPSDash, but had to hard reboot and can not.
I have tried different com ports for both the GPS and the new MS GPS mananger thing, but GPSDash cannt find it.
Anyone else running this new ROM able to help please?
Thanks,

Hi there
try the following
hope this help
Installing TomTom Navigator 5.1
15. Using File Explorer, navigate to the .CAB file you copied to your SD card and install R-Edit
on your Pocket PC. R-Edit can be acquired from http://www.pocketfleet.homeunix.com/REGEDIT.htm
but you can also Google for any other Windows Mobile 5 Registry Editor.
16. Run R-Edit from the Programs Menu.
17. Within R-Edit, navigate to the registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\GPS Settings"
18. Within the registry key, delete the DWORD entry marked "Hide"
19. Add a DWORD entry called "Group" and give it a Value of "2"
20. Soft reset your Pocket PC.
21. On your Pocket PC, go to Settings > Connections to ensure that the GPS icon is there.
If it is not then I can only apologise but it may not be possible to get TomTom working with
your GPS device. It is necessary for TomTom to see a specific GPS serial port that can
(as far as I can tell) only be set by this GPS connection program. After you have paired
with your Bluetooth GPS device you could try setting an Outgoing port to COM7: as that is
a default COM port that TomTom Navigator can connect to. Do step 22 then skip to step 26.
22. Turn on your Bluetooth GPS and stick it in a location that it's likely to get a signal.
On your Pocket PC, enable Bluetooth and search for new devices. Establish a bond (pair) with
your GPS device and ensure you check the "Serial Port" option.
23. Go to Settings > Connections > Bluetooth. Create a new Incoming COM Port. I chose COM8 for this.
24. Other guides on the Internet tell you to also create an Outgoing port and setting it
as COM7 but doing this would not work on the PPC that I was using so I had to create the
Outgoing COM port on COM0. Either way you need an Outgoing COM port to be set.
If you can set it as COM7: then you should do so, if not, use COM0:
25. Go to Settings > Connections > GPS. Set the GPS communication port to the same
Outgoing COM port that you set above. For the PPC I was using,
I had to set it as COM0: above so will set it here as COM0: also.
The "Manage GPS Automatically" checkbox should already be checked but if it isn't, check it and OK out.
26. Start up TomTom Navigator using the Programs menu and run through the setup procedure as
normal but select "Other Bluetooth GPS" when asked to select a GPS device.
27. TomTom will ask you to now pair your GPS device with your Pocket PC.
We've already done that so click Continue.
28. You will be given a list of ports that your GPS device is likely to be on.
Remember that this is the Outgoing port that we created earlier in steps 24 and 25.
Basically the COM port you set here must be the same as the one you set in step 24 and 25.
29. Select the relevant COM port and then click Next. You will likely be taken straight
in to the map view and with any luck your Pocket PC and GPS device will start communicating and your Pocket PC will show your position on the map.
30. If you made a mistake in setting the COM port that your GPS device lives on,
simply tap anywhere on the screen. Tap Preferences, tap Next three times until you
see an icon that looks like a satellite labelled GPS status. Tap that icon and then tap configure to change the COM port.
regards
My friend and I both have Excaliburs from T-Mobile and have both upgraded to 6.1 Kavanna/Ricky v24. We are unable to link the phones together for the purpose of beaming files. When either of us attempts to add the other phone as a bluetooth device it works fine up through the entering of the passkey. But then it lists no bluetooth services as available on either phone. Also, when trying to beam a file, it searches for other bluetooth devices. When either phone finds the other S620 and we attempt to beam the file, it fails. I know bluetooth works at least on my phone, because I regularly use a Motorola H800 bluetooth headset. Only the pairing with another WM6.1 Dash seems to fail with no services available. Also this may or may not be related, but when I go into bluetooth settings on either phone and enter the COM Ports menu, the screen says "To add a COM port, select from one of the options under Menu." Except all options under menu are greyed out and unavailable, including "Add new outgoing port".
You've probably done that but just in case.....did you check the box in:
settings -> connections -> beam -> 'receive all incoming beams' ??

I have the same problem after updating to lollipop. With kitkat I had never an issue. Have been searching for solutions during last couple of months. We only can wait until the next update I think. Or revert back to Kitkat. You should make your car audio as trusted bluetooth device. But that didn t help for me either, still had the same connection issues.
Before the update to Lollipop my device connected to my vehicle using Bluetooth (music, hand free calling/reads messages etc). And now after the update it STILL works the same.
Same here!
I have a Parrot MKi9100 and Note 4. Prior to the update it worked perfect, routing all audio from my phone through my truck. I updated to lollipop and only the calls would route (after clicking between speaker and bluetooth a few times). So then I updated the MKi to the latest version and now when it connects it thinks audio is constantly routing when nothing is! I had to delete the pairing so I can use my radio!
I sent a request to Parrot, but thought this would be an even better arena to escalate issues!
If you have power saving enabled. Switch it off and see if that helps. Just an idea.

I'm going to try this tomorrow.
I listen to music via bluetooth in both my truck and through my headphones.
On Kitkat, everything worked perfectly, but on Lollipop, the music "pops" or "skips" every so often. Completely random, but 3-6 times per song. It's really annoying.
Fix what resolved the issue for me (ATT Note 4 Lollipop)
1. Unpair both devices (remove the car from the phone; vice versa)
2. Make sure you turned off your bluetooth
3. Go to: Settings -> Applications -> Application Manager -> All
4. Clear Cache first then Clear Data: "Bluetooth", "Bluetooth Test"
5. Enable bluetooth & pair again with your car
6. IMMEDIATELY disconnect (you can do it from either way; car or bluetooth).. but keep the bluetooth turned ON
7. Download latest "Bluetooth File Transfer" application from Google Play
8. Open it and switch to the second tab ("bluetooth icon")
9. Select your car and do the following three things one by one (until they complete!!!): File Transfer Profile (FTP), Object Push Profile (OPP), Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP)
PLEASE NOTE: each of these steps may take 5-10 minutes and will FAIL for sure (a "STOP" sign will pop up in the application after it completed the action partially. Be patience and wait until that. If you did all three steps you can close the "Bluetooth File Transfer" app and move on Step 10.)
10. Go to Settings -> Security -> Trust agents -> Smart Lock (Google): ON
11. (you may need to leave and re-enter to Settings to see it) Smart Lock -> Trusted devices -> Bluetooth -> your car
Your phone should work again fine w/ the car. I've tried with my AT&T Note 4 after having the same issues.. 2 days perfect (even after few restarts). Also my friend followed these step on Verizon Note 4, also resolved the problem.

I couldn't connect it with any device with lolipop system.
So it's a lolipop bug...
I tried this on my Samsung Note 4 and it appears I now have working Bluetooth Stack with my Lexus hands free. IMO when one deletes a Bluetooth profile any remnants in the Profile should be deleted. It seems silly one needs to go through these steps to repair the profile's Bluetooth stack. Hopefully Marshmellow will fix what is critically lacking in Lollipop.
Great post! Thanks for sharing this!
This issue with the BluetoothPbapService has been driving me nuts for the past months. An initial solution for me to force stop the BluetoothPbapService in the Bluetooth Share process under Settings -> Apps -> Running, but the service gets restarted each time you click on the Bluetooth option.
@jake_net's suggestion has inspired a workaround fix for me.
If you have a rooted Android, download this app from WangQi called Disable Service (from the PlayStore). Click on the System tab, select Bluetooth Share. Uncheck the BluetoothPbapService.
My Bluetooth connection with my car's handsfree has been flawless ever since.

I take it that you aren't from this forum, because we can't root our phones on Lollipop... and some of us are a little sore about it.

Sadly even after the 5.1.1 updated I'm still experiencing bluetooth issue's when my screen is off. When my screen is off, I experience skipping quite often, yet with my screen on bluetooth works fine.
I believe I've exhausted all means of troubleshooting this =/

I have left Nokia for similar reasons and got myself Samsung, now it is the time to leave Samsung behind and go for IPhone S6, my patience have ended.
Bluetooth Connection Dropping in Galaxy Note 4
I have the same problem after automatic updating my Note 4 from the original Android 5.0.2 to Android 5.1.1. This problem happens to my Headphone Sony MDR-10RBT that was working properly before, now after 1 to 3 minutes of playing music the BT connection just drops. My Bluetooth is working properly with the BT Keyboard with my car system BT for calls and audio, transfer files over BT, so the problem is selective......that is to say a huge BUG in the software. This Headphone is still working fine with my other Galaxy S5 with Android 5.0.1. I have tried every thing possible.... Soft Reset, Hard Reset, Cleaning Cache Partition, cleaning cache e data do BT app e BT test app.......... nothing solve the problem with the Sony Headphone. I have contacted Samsung and they told me to take my phone for the technical assistance?????? What for?! BT is functional. HUGE........ HUGE BUG. One other thing that stopped working in my Note 4 is the NFC???????? Shame on Samsung.... For me that is the end of it no more Samsung I have left Nokia for similar reasons, now head on to IPhone...

I dont know what to do when I get to the "Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP)" step. Can someone help?
When I select FTP or OPP, there is a distinct progress bar that tries to send data and fails.
When I select PBAP, I am presented with a bunch of files and folder but no option to transfer. I can long-press any file but really no way to upload them.
So what should I be doing here?
Thanks in advance.
