Anyone have some experience with some nice tgsp or skins for the mate20?
I ordered some stuff, but it's not in yet..
lemme start this topic off..
Guys dont buy the 4D TGSP from DrPhone it's a rip off!!
The picture happened after I tried to align the TGSP to the upper right corner. Also look at the teardrop is also not aligned correctly
Also the lower part of the screen was covered, but that isn't clear because it's all black.
I got some more tgsp coming in..
1. Doesnt cover whole front panel
2. Covers bits of all 4 sides of the screen when placed in the middle
3. No curved edges
total rip off!!!

Thanks for the warning. You did not like the standard pre-installed factory screen protector?
I have removed the screen protector because it is much more smoother to use and the pre-installed screen protector was a fingerprint magnet.
I bought a slim cover case with auto wake and sleep when opening and closing. It protects the phone more than enough.
I do like the pre-installed one, but it's a fingerprint and dust magnet?
So yeah I wanna go TGSP, camera lens protector and back skin.
I ordered 2 dbrand skins and just a regular transparent kevlar (print) skin.
But soo many tgsp sellers are just cheating people with their bs =/
and yeah i've also noticed the phone is soo much smoother when no protector applied! but I hope glass will improve the touch than plastic =)
I ordered this :

Look nice, I think. It is a Dbrand clone.

You can't go wrong for €1,52
yet another tgsp from drphone.. bad quality..
funny how they say its made this way so you can use a case...
You cover the screen so ppl can use a case? ****!!! are they blind or do they think we're stupid? =/
damn scamming sellers everywhere
Anyway.. next week I have the tgsp from eiger, nilkin, icall and just in case coming in.
I will test them and post the results here.
If the fit isn't right I won't stick it on my phone so I can return it and get a refund.
I'll rank them from "best" to worst, but I'm very disappointed with the results:
1. Nilkin: Barely cover the whole screen. So it looks very ugly and small. And the glass will " cut" you. No 2.5/3D glass.
(All the 3 others were just terrible:
iCall: covers 2mm of left and right side of screen
Eiger: Doesn't cover left and right side of the screen for about 2/3 mm. wtfff
JustInCase: covers 2mm of left and right side of screen
I'm sending all these crap products back ! These were priced from 10 to 17 euros EACH!
Only positive side from today is my dbrand skin it looks so fine that wood skin!
After many many tries with those overpriced TGSP I got a good hit with 2 cheap tgsp.
My personal favorite is the first one from aliexpress.
So smooth and bright and you almost forget you have a tgsp on it.
https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/ZNP-...235.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.17e14c4dCKzfrt
Pros:
1. Thin (feels almost as thin as the factory pre installed one, perhaps because of the right size?)
2. Cheap
3. Covers more than only the screen (but not the entire front panel)
4. Case friendly (for those who use it with a case)
5. Quality feels like premium
Cons:
1. Long shipment
2. May experience white line problems ( I have just a small sign of white lines, but only noticable when you are looking closing for them)
Also a decent buy:
https://www.ebay.nl/itm/Huawei-Mate...var=651362647729&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
1. Covers whole screen (leaves nothing uncovered except for the camera area)
2. Cheap
3. Quality seems decent
Cons:
1. Uses tape (so there could be some dust sticking on the sides, haven't tried it on for long time because the one from aliexpress arrived 2 days later)
2. Long shipment
Related
Today i received the case and again i want so share some thoughts about it.
(let me say it right here: this is the best case ive seen so far and i can recommend it to everyone that is searching for a very slim case with considerable protection)
ORDER
i ordered the case from Obostore. it took 7 days for shipping...quite good for free international shipping. they also give discount if you order several pieces.
MATERIAL
i expected some regular plastic case but actually it is something i would describe as rubberized plastic.
makes the phone definitively way less slippery.
as far as i can tell it doesn't attract dust.
FIT
it fits perfectly and the cutouts on the side are made well. the phone fits very tight and doesn't move in the case (like in the zenus skin air jacket i reviewed some pages ago)
PROTECTION
if you are searching for an everyday-protection against scratches and some little drops this case should be your choice.
as you can see on the pictures the top and bottom of the phone are not covered by the plastic.
but that doesn't bother me because (unlike the samsung mesh-case) it fully covers the corners of the phone.
so if it drops on flat ground it will be fully protected. (not from great hight of course)
quite hard to explain but i tried to show it to you in the pictures below.
i tilted the phone to 45° and then take a shot that is showing that there is still some space between phone and surface (light coming through).
the camera is also covered very good so no scratches should get on it.
SCREEN PROTECTOR
the case came with a free screen protector from nillkin. i don't have any reference but i think its pretty good.
(although i messed it up by having a little airbubble in the down right corner. my fault.... )
CONCLUSION
this is by far the best case i have seen or used so far.
sure there are some cases with better protection but in my opinion they often add too much bulk and mess with the great look an slimness of the phone.
so i can fully recommend this case to you!
(if you liked this review please show by hitting the thanks-button)
(and sorry again for the bad picture-quality )

I also have one, and am very happy with it, but they seem to have a minor design flaw.
Doesn't really affect the usability of the case, hell, I didn't even notice it until someone on another forum pointed it out, and I doubt I ever would have if they hadn't.
what flaw are you talking about?
(although it may be better if you never tell me )
1 of the sides did not flush well with the phone when facing up.
Looks like the cutting is slightly off will gradual abscess from top going to the bottom.
Its pretty obvious if u see it at an angle.
Only seems to be an issue with the black case
The white one I got seems to fit fine
Sorry, photos aren't very clear

I also have the one in OP but chose red instead of black. I have to say it's pretty awesome. The color looks classy and the case fits just fine.
I like the rubberized texture. Without it, I always felt like the phone was going to slip right off my hand. Now not so much. Plus it almost doesn't add any thickness (I'd say around 1.5 mm at most).
Very happy.
Be careful with unprotective cases, barely there cases and only rear protecting cases

Here it is the white one, after few weeks of usage.
h t t p://imgur.com/a/LnGKp - sorry i can't post links yet (new user)
I have the phone for 2 montsh now, but i have 2 other type of case and using a different one all the time. The first 2 week was fine, no coloration at all, but at the 3rd week the brown coloration happened, which was my pocket. And the funny part is, i am carrying it in my pocket for 40min each (work)day.
The way i imagine this case:
- hard plastic
- soft touch overlay
- some thin protecting layer
No coloration in the first few weeks, but after the ""protecting layer"" wear down, the case started picking up everything. I tried to clean it, no luck.
Lastly, i really don't know what are those pink spots, or where do they came from. (It's not the camera )
I've one of these cases too.
The first thing I did was to use my fingernail to scratch away the NILLKIN words. Took me just 2 min, and I had a perfectly blank back for the case.
How good it fits to the phone? Does this case scratch the phone?
Thanks!
Hello,
I have placed order for the Basalguardz Ultra-Clear Anti-Fingerprint screen protectors. What attracted me the most is the very low price
compared to all screen protectors in the market, while still shipping with 3 films and all necessary tools to install on your phone.
Here is the unboxing:

}
Here is the protector on the phone:
Now, let me jump into the good stuff and bad stuff about this protector:
Pro's
1- Extremely cheap compared to any protector in the market, considering the fact that you get 3 films in one pack for the price of 2 films
by other providers.
2- Brilliant customer services, I only had to contact their head office in US and they set me up with a direct shipping off Hong Kong (As
as living in Middle East and it's way cheaper and faster to ship via HK mail).
3- Above average packaging with proper instructions on the pack and a packing slip for extra assurance that you get the right protector
before opening the pack.
4- Goes all the way to the edges, which is good in the sense that you got your screen fully protected.
Con's
1- The way the screen protector is installed is very weird: Normally other competitors will place "Remove to install" striker on the top on
the screen to allow for a better alignment above the earpiece and front facing camera. However, BasalGuardz decided to place that at the
bottom! Not sure why would that be considered a good idea! I had to remove the protector couple of times in order to properly
align in and end result, alot of dust got in between and my end install isn't the cleanest.
Here is a picture to explain:
2- Goes all the way to the edges, which is bad in the sense that you might have dust on the edges (especially at the bottom) since the
screen is curved and that could cause dust to slip in and screw things up for you!
3- The texture on the screen is very clear yet it feels very sticky and it doesn't necessary keeps the fingerprints off the actual surface,
still catch some oil and fingerprints (not very visible but still not as marketed).
Overall rating: 3.5/5
Would I recommand this? to be hoenst, I don't think so! beacuse it's very hard to align the protector with the peel happeing from the
bottom unless you are really a professional, not to mention that it's very easy to have fingerprints all over it so techinically speaking
they are selling you a product that doesn't do what it's suppose to do!
Let me know what do you guys think. Anyone else used it, shout out your short review!
Regards,,,
Thanks for the review. I would love a fingerproof protector but hate the blurry matte ones. Don't want to waste a bunch of money finding a good one.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Go get the SGP Oleophobic .. brilliant stuff ( still doesn't cover the majority of the screen which may look dodgy sometimes )
I emailed BasalGuardz with my review and this is this their reply:
Thank you.
That placing the tabs at the top was something that we probably need to be doing. It does indeed make it easier with this phone.
As far as the anti-fingerprint. It will certainly greatly reduce the fingerprints without the need for a matte surface, which some people do not like. Personally, I love the matte protectors. Others want more clarity. I just do not like the "sticky" feel of clear protectors.
It will not, however, keep every fingerprint off. It your hands are incredibly sweaty or dirty, then it would certainly not help in that case.
Thank you,

Yeah Trident did the same thing w/ their screen protectors putting the tab on the bottom.. stupidest thing I've ever seen.
You are complaining that they put the tabs on the bottom, really? Just stick a piece of tape on the top and start from there. Tape is a necessity when installing cling protectors like these anyways.
Preface; I have bought screen protector from them before or or more and I liked them. So, that is why i bought more of there products. These were a hopefully mistakes.

Here is one pic that shows it well.
Now for the screen protector. I am not sure if they are made to not cover the whole screen from side to side, but I would have thought so. These screen protectors are pretty think to not have it go from side to side because I think you would run into touch sensitivity problems right at the edge of the screen.
Here it is actually against the edge of the glass on one side of the phone.
Here is an album of few more pictures of the case and screen protectors.
Like I said though, I would have really loved this case if it fit right. It is really thin and doesn't really change much about the phones area.

Do they all not go to the edges? That seems very odd to me and would make it to easy to peel up I would think with how think this is. Not to mention you need to touch where that is. Especially with the Browser lab side touch thing.

The screen of the HOX curves on the edges so screen protectors would bubble up if they were edge to edge.

if u want it to go all the way, try the skinomi wet application ones. they go all the way

My SGP Air case fits fine. Maybe you got a fake one? There should be a serial number inside the case, you can go here to authenticated.
The screen protector problem is well known and widely covered by the screenprotectors thread. Research helps an insane lot sometimes...
As said before, the best available screenprotector that covers the whole screen is the wet application Skinomi (techskin). Most dry application ones don't cover the screen because they don't like the curved edges of the screen, they're too stiff and don't have enough adhesive power to stay on properly.

Is yours the international version or USA and canada version? Some cases are made to fit the international and to fit the USA.
Found this on amazon and thought it looked good. Reviews were ok, but I hadnt seen anyone mention it on here for the SGS3.
Price Paid: $11.99 plus shipping. $17.09 Total
Purchased From: Amazon.com
Specs:
Clear Optic Polyester
Thickness 0.15mm
Oleophobic coating to reduce fingerprints
3H~4H Surface Solidity
Pros:
-Very nice packaging. Very clear and concise instructions.
-Came with screen cleaning cloth and plastic squeegee.
-Comes in a two pack, I installed both on 2 different phones.
-Hard to notice it when installed.
-Initially felt a little tacky, but after a day now, screen feels almost like glass.
-No issues so far
Cons:
-Doesnt come all the way to the edge of the screen, this can be considered good/bad. Due to phone design, these types of protectors have to be cut smaller to not lift off. But I notice the protector is the exact width of the display screen, almost barely "too skinny" (pics should show what I mean)
Overall, Im very happy with it. It fits PERFECTLY with a Casemate Tough. The protector comes right to the edge of the case. So my phone is almost completely covered. There should be no issues at all with the phone case lifting the protector, as they arent touching anywhere.
I did mess up a little on the application on one of the phones, so its not perfectly squared up on the phone, but Im worried I will wreck it if I try to remove it and re-position it.

The Rearth website is very nice and they have tons of info about their products, down to materials used and how they make their screen protectors. Pleasantly surprised by that.

I used this on my S3 before I got my defender case and went back to Best Skin Ever. This is the best dry protector I've used thus far. I love the fact that it comes with 2 also. I have one more left, some day I may go back to it.
I agree though...this protector is awesome and very clear and I'm not even a fan of dry applications! :good:
I have the same protector on my s3..fit and feel are great, but mine already has micro scratches in certain "high traffic" areas...

At least theyre on the screen protector and not on the screen itself. Also it's only visible under direct sunlight and you have to be really looking for them.
Thanks for the detailed review and pics! Just put in an order for a pack :]
I had this brand screen protector in my HTC Thunderbolt for more then 8 months without a problem, its in my Amazon wish list already. So far the screen protector i bought at a VZW store is holding on very good for $14
After lots of hype and anticipation the Dome Glass finally went up for preorder on Amazon today (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078JR1HTN/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I1TW2EEPYOB6KA&colid=348Y83I4OO9QD&psc=0). They've sent me a review unit, which just arrived on my doorstep. I have to admit I'm a bit nervous as I've never done an install like this before. I'm also a bit curious since the glass itself appears to be flat. Here are a few pics of the package contents and protector, I'll get it installed shortly and post more.

not going to lie, installation wasnt the smoothest thing in the world but its on. it did take two tries, though that is partially my fault. in the installation video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMr68wi0Rw0) at 1:30 when they pull the pin to drop the protector on the bubble nicely hits the glass and starts to spread right before they pull it. it was not quite as nice of a spread my first try, and i waited until the adhesive had gotten a bit too far down which caused some bubbles. thankfully they provide good cleaning instructions and a second bottle of adhesive. their video is way better than i could have done, but two differences are that you need to place stickers over the speaker grills and pads on the sides. the pads are really tight on the left side with the buttons, so its best to put the pad in place before the phone goes in the tray.
as for the protector itself, i think it is the best we have available for sure. it is full adhesive, and the feel is fantastic, like using the phone naked. at least initially the oleophobic coating is great and fingerprints are non-existent. of course, well have to see how that holds up over time. i dont have any touch sensitivity issues like i experienced with the various dot matrix protectors. despite being flat it does cover the entire view able display, albeit just barely. i was a bit surprised/disappointed to find that the edges werent curved and if i try i can notice the edge of the protector when swiping from the sides. that said, it doesnt effect performance at all and it probably helps the protector be more case friendly than it would be otherwise. as you can see from the pictures there are no issues with my ghostek cloak, and i think case compatibility is an issue with the gs8. i think there is the faintest hint of halo though, so time will tell if that is an issue or my eyes just looking for something wrong. there is some adhesive residue along the edges that you can see in the pictures. i cleaned it up a bit and have no worries that it will come off over time. it also looks worse in the pictures than it is in reality.
all that said, at least right now this is the best option out there. it may not be the unicorn perfect protector, but i think it checks off all the appropriate boxes and is in a completely different class than anything else on the market.
I don't understand how the glass could be flat. The protector either doesn't cover the screen or has "liftings" on the borders.
glass is flat, this is suspect...
easy enough to figure out, simply lay the protector on the screen to see how it fits prior to actually installing it.
so does 2.5d mean not full screen coverage

I wish they still made phones with flat screens like the classic Nexus 6p why do they have to do the slightly curved edges?
shows "Full coverage" with rounded coverage... yet is flat. And theyre asking for 50 for this? I'll stick with my wet apply that has actual full coverage and unlimited free replacements.
the curved edges are cool for scrolling up and down. avoids selecting the wrong things but perhaps companies want to increase the probability of screen repairs or replacements
For 50 bucks and flat glass ill buy 16 spartan glass. Its almost identical.

IQshield or Skinomi
They probably have it reduced due to the issue with the s8 and note 8 not being case friendly enough.

write a 3* review on amazon.
hmmmm are there any other 'flat' options out there thats not $50?
I swear i had similar style flat protectors for my iphone 6 back in the day that just covered the flat part of the screen, that wasn't weird dot matrix stuff.
I have a flat one similar to the Whitestone that I might just get 2500tp Loca and apply it

Ugh....the wait continues. For 50 bucks I expect the thing to curve perfectly over the edges with full adhesive. Not be a flat protector that really doesn't need the added headache at installation and cost. Hard pass.
