Recovering Deleted Files Using PhotoRec? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S8+ Questions & Answers

Is it possible to recover deleted files on my s8+ by using photorec if I root my phone? If so, any suggestions on which root to use? If not, any other suggestions; nothing was backed up?
Thank you for your time and help.

How to add dropbear again on MoDaCo's?

Hi guys,
Can anyone explain or point me to a thread.
I was messing around the other day and removed dropbear from the modaco rom I'm running (for totally no reason I must say).
But now I'm a bit more experienced with ssh so I'd like to install it again.
I've been running this rom for quite a while now and I'm to lazy to flash and install all those apps again
I think it shouldn't be that hard to reinstall it somehow right?
Hope someone can help
Thanks
DaanJoraan
P.S. I have adb set up on my linux netbook
Anyone?
Maybe someone just has an .apk file for me?
thanks in advance
Just re-flash the same ROM update.zip once more. Your apps and stuff should all still be there. I recommend using Titanium backup once in a while to backup all your apps, then it's easy to restore all or single app in such events.

You could try doing a bit of research on what apps are best for recovering data, I know there are some decent apps out there that do a good job as long as u have written over those files .
If you have troubles finding one that works i might be able to do some research for you. But i would personally try youtube to find reviews on decent recovery apps. GOODLUCK
You could try this link , i havent tested the app myself but i think if you are chasing photos it might work http://hexamob.com/rooting.html

Did you have any luck in finding a program to restore your deleted files, I am in the same boat and need to recover some accidentally deleted files.

Try this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1994705
if you deleted them then recover them straight away then you'll 100% get them back, but if you've been using your phone alot and over writing those deleted files... then your chance of getting all of them back will be slimmer.
Try to recover your files, you'll need to be in debug mode then mount as USB, that you can recover them as external disk.
Why did you necrobump this thread??

You can recover deleted files from galaxy nexus with data recovery software, see this guide that helped me before: android phone data recovery
hope this helps.

No.
@crazyVato, sorry, i meant to expand on that answer but got distracted.
for what you want to do and actually save as a backup you need to be rooted WITH custom recovery.
So long as your system is intact you can repeat the process of customizing but what's
wiped is gone. =(

I have a lot of empathy for your situation. Not many things give you that sick feeling in the pit of your stomach, but this is definitely one of them.
I am no expert but everything that I know tells me that there is no way to restore your device back the way way you had it.
I'm not certain which files remain intact following a factory reset but some do remain. Is it possible that once you rooted you made a backup that you don't remember making? It wouldn't hurt to reroot and poke around for a clockwork folder. SD Maid will also help find big files, in case a backup was stored in mnt/shell.
Best of luck to you.

It says you're not rooted but can ES Exlplorer see a lever higher than sdcard?
