Hi all,
I live in EU, so we can use data in EU countries for normal prices. Last summer when i was abroad international roaming worked just fine on stock rom, 7.1. But since then I did not wait for the official update, unlocked bootloader and tried some custom ROMs including Viper 7.1 and the last one was lineage 15.1. And when i was in Austria last weekend, phone was in roaming mode, but i got no data. Mobile data was on, data on roaming was on as well. I double checked, restarted phone and contacted my carrier to make sure I have roaming enabled. I even tried flashing viper 7.1, but with no luck with data.
Sadly I am back home with working domestic data and I cannot test it.. What do you thin would be the best process to make sure to have working data next time I will be abroad? Flashing stock 7.1, then stock 8 and then custom 8 or 9?
Thanks for suggestions

All,
I have an M9 unlocked edition and after the upgrade to marshmallow my international data roaming with Tmobile quite working. I still get all other roaming benefits from Tmobile, but the data just says disconnected.
Everything was working well before the upgrade and it is unclear if there is a new setting I am missing or if this release is incompatible with Tmobiles data roaming.
I have the APNs set as they were before the upgrade, and mobile roaming is checked. Does anyone know what I would try next?
Thanks Fred
Are you full stock, or did you unlock, S-Off, flash a custom ROM? Those are important informations to track down your problem.

It is fully stock and was upgraded from KK to Marshmallow while via an over the air update while my friend was working overseas.
So more information, and I am not out of the country right now, but with roaming selected the mobile data submenu shows that everything is connected an fine, but the setting menu for mobile data says "disconnected". When a SIM is not in the phone the message is "disconnected because services is unavailable"
Trying more things before trying to reflash the software.
Thanks for anyhelp.
All FYI we remedied this situation by using the older tmobile apn settings but it was only necessary for some phones not the newer htc.
Sent from my Nexus 6P using XDA-Developers mobile app
So no more issues??
I have a Verizon HTC One M8 which must work on an international GSM/LTE network.
I bought it on ebay and it was working before I tampered with it. It was giving notifications about non-Verizon sim, so I tried to fix that by flashing a custom ROM.
However, now there is no signal at all)).
Please give me a hint or a piece of lazy advice.
Settings > Mobile data > Preferred Network
If what above is said ,does not work,(you select gsm network and it revert back to CDMA immediately then it maybe a firmware/ROM problem, that sometimes happens with me,try flashing lollipop firmware again, and a lollipop/mm ROM that never failed you in the past.in my case vanir aosp often give me those problems, flashing turbo ROM solves it.)
Agree with the above that no signal after flashing a ROM on the Verizon version, is often due to outdated firmware.
Also, make sure the ROM supports the Verizon version, as many don't (and can also cause issues).
The Verizon version is SIM-unlocked from the factory, so I would think the notifications of the non_VZN SIM could just be dismissed? Or did they actually prevent the function of the phone (with the non_VZN SIM)?
Nah ,I think he meant everything was working before he tempered with it,so you were right,he could have dismissed it.but curiosity can be trouble maker and solver both.hehe
Good morning, I am running the latest Lineage 14.1 rom (14.1-20171204-Nightly-d2att) on the Samsung Galaxy S3 (SGH-I747) phone, this phone is rooted, running the latest TWRP (3.2.1.0) and the I747UCUFNJ2 baseband on this device, this device is fully rooted, and is SIM unlocked for use with any carrier, my carrier is T-Mobile.
Ever since installing this rom, and any roms higher than android 6.0 (I've ran CM 12, CM 12.1, CM 13, SlimKat, and AOSP roms), everything works perfectly except for my cellular data will not go higher than Edge (2G) and my complete cell connection will randomly disconnect for a few seconds then reconnect itself.
I've tried everything from changing the APN settings specified by T-Mobile for LTE connectivity, I've gotten a replacement SIM from T-Mobile, I'm lost at this point as to what the issue could be. According to T-Mobile I do have the BYOD option so unlike some carriers, the SIM is not supposed to be locked to a specific IMEI.
Does anyone have any idea what could be the issue and/or a solution to this? Is there a higher baseband that needs to be loaded to fix this that I'm not aware of?
Thanks for your help everyone.
The phone is also running the latest bootloader?
Yes it is.
I assume the cellular data works properly with a stock ROM.
Does the cellular data work with the sim in another phone? Cellular data works with another sim card in the s3?

connection problem or invalid MMI code
edit:nvm i got it working with *#*#4636#*#*, what can i don this menu to get lte running
Ok, for the past for few days I'm having problems upgrading to an Oreo rom.
I have the xt1675 UK based cedric, running Nougat stock. I am actually now in the Netherlands on a Dutch provider and the phone works fine.
However as soon as I flash an Oreo based rom in TWRP, the phone cannot find my network provider anymore and forces me to roam with another provider in the area.
Now here's something weirder. I lost my IEMI when I downgraded my phone to return to stock, however doing the Pixel experience trick restored my IEMI and now I have 3g and an IEMI again.
Now, that's fine I can live with that. So I decided to flash xposed so I can have a little customisation on Pixel experience, but weirdly I lose my network provider again and I am forced to roam again.
Now, I do have a back of the EFS which was 4g ready, but if I flash this it forces me to roam however I have 4g but only in roaming. My network provider is not there is the provider listing.
I am sorry if this post is confusing, it's all confusing for me. It seems I cannnot have an Oreo rom with 4g, as it forces me to roam. However if I go with Nougat, then everything works as it should.
Anyone have any idea what this is all about
Ht c 10
Sprint
Unlocked
S-On
When i purchased this phone it was running Viper nougat rom with functional LTE
I updated to oreo firmware and lte gone. It would only show 3g where as i am in full lte coverage zone
I flashed different oreo and pie roms but fruitless
I tried to fix by erasing modemst1 and 2 but it always give error of 35 partition
Today i downgraded to Nougat and erase persist but it is still same
i can only get 3g no 4g or lte
I tried network reset by ##72786# but it eventually sim locked my phone and i had to unlock it manually
Any suggestion or possible fix
Thanks in advance
did you find the answer?
I have also lost connection. Except mine is both 3G and 4G. Oddly I can still call, text, use wifi and putting the sim in my other phone works just fine. I have no clue what's wrong. I've tried everything at this point.
Here's a link to my thread if you wish to follow any solutions provided if someone comments.

It had same situation but eventually I solved it. Now LTE is working. First of all, need to be S-OFF and then after unlocking SIM, you can install any firmware with any ROM that supports the encryption...Either US unlocked or UK International Roms will fix the LTE issue. One thing to notice: you must keep the data partition unformatted for keeping the SIM lock status and need to use SPRINT or VERIZON radio. I am using stock Oreo from with Verizon radio + Magisk.
In addition, I unlocked LTE bands as well with DFS Qualcomm tool
