Windows makes a connection sound but nothing pops up in "this pc" or device manager. Device manager refreshes but nothing related to Pixel 3xl. Only thing in device manager is 3 logitech devices under other devices. Very strange indeed

Try a different USB cable and port. C to c cables have issues if you're using one of them.

Laptop won't detect phone, tried different PCs, different USB cables, and even got the USB port changed but still no luck. When I connect it to my LED TV, the phone says it is connected in USB mode and disk drive option works. However, when connected to laptop, it goes only into charging mode. Downloaded the HTC Sync Manager too but still no detection of the phone whatsoever. Help, pls?

I tried on Windows XP, Windows 7, and Windows 8. The hardware manager says NOTHING, there is no notification when the phone is connected. Although today I tried it on Windows 8.1 pro, and it worked for like a minute. All options worked fine, the disk drive, USB Tethering etc but then it stopped working again.

I bought it off the internet a month back. The guy I got it from said he never rooted it. So, no custom rom or any modding done yet. I'm currently using Ubuntu, this too doesnt detect my phone. And I tried again on my LED TV but the USB Connection was established in like 2 seconds so there's no problem with the port or the cable. What drivers do you use? My phone doesnt even get detected by the HTC Sync.
Someone with more knowledge please help me.
I can not, for the life of me, get my computer to recognize my watch.
I've tried everything, I've tried installing the driver package another user posted.
I've enable usb debugging in dev settings.
I have adb working correctly but when I type adb devices it's blank.
The only glimmer of hope is I successfully connected my watch via bluetooth debugging and got a debugging dialog on my watch.
I've tried on two computers as well
I really need a detailed guide on how to get my computer to recognize this damn thing
Thanks - A very frustrated novice

Just managed to get my watch into fastboot mode but I still can't connect or recognize device in adb
Are you trying to connect while the watch is unlocked (screen on, not in ambient mode or off)?

Does your PC react at all when you plug in the USB cable? (Sorry if this is too basic.) Just wondering if its a bad charging cable.

Yes, my pc makes a noise and in my device manager the watch is identified as a Marshall London device. I think that's due to one of the many drivers I attempted to install. Thanks for your help by the way

I have some problem how to solve??Any one have solve?
Thx
I've posted this many times in the various Huawei forums and it has worked for everyone so far.
First, remove all other drivers using USBDeview.
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/usb_devices_view.html
Then use this tutorial to manually install the Google USB driver.
http://visualgdb.com/KB/usbdebug-manual/
Good luck!
edit - here is a fool proof method.

I know it's been a long time but were you able to find a solution ? I'm having the exact same problem.
Hi all,
I can't get my 5X to be detected on any PC I connect it to. I've tried on two computers, both with Google drivers installed and with different cables and it doesn't show up in device manager or ADB. I'm running out of ideas and any help is appreciated.
Thanks

is there any device with a question- or exclamation mark in the device manager? when connected, is your device shown as "ADB generic" or similar in device manager?
in both scenarios you'd have to install another driver.
Hi.
Had a similar issue. I just uninstalled the driver in device manager and it got recognized.
Think it was som sort of Kedacom driver.
Thanks

I tried that earlier with no luck.
I was able to borrow a friend's known working Nexus 5X and plugged it into my PC and it was detected just fine. Swapped my 5X in using the same cable and USB port and nothing. I'm beginning to suspect a hardware issue.
Just picked up the Pixel XL from verizon, not sure if the problem is with my computer or the phone. I go to click USB Transfer and nothing happens on my computer, I have drivers installed but nothing happens. I just moved from the asus zenfone 2 and thought I deleted all the drivers from that, I really didn't think those drivers would have a problem though.

Nah, they shouldnt. Can you post a screen shot of you Windows Device Manager? And tell what ver of Windows you are on please?
Also, did you go back to phone, pull the dropdown and select file transfer?
Yup, I've selected all of them only thing device manager is showing is the adb drivers. Im running Windows 10 insider preview.
Uninstall the adb drivers, and then plug the phone in. This worked for me.

Hello,
big problem here.
My 5X just stopped showing up on my PC. It used to work fine before, but then stopped a few days ago.
I thought it might be related to the Encryption, so I just wiped everything (internal storage). But still the same problem and now I dont even have an OS installed. It's not even recognized in fastboot mode.
I ordered an USB OTG Adapter now. Hopefully I can push files with an USB stick to the phone then.
Any suggestions how I can make my Windows 10 recognizing the phone again? I also tried different Windows 10 PCs. Its not even showing up in device manager, no sound at all when I plug it in, its just charging...
