Hi all,
I can't get my 5X to be detected on any PC I connect it to. I've tried on two computers, both with Google drivers installed and with different cables and it doesn't show up in device manager or ADB. I'm running out of ideas and any help is appreciated.
Thanks

is there any device with a question- or exclamation mark in the device manager? when connected, is your device shown as "ADB generic" or similar in device manager?
in both scenarios you'd have to install another driver.
Hi.
Had a similar issue. I just uninstalled the driver in device manager and it got recognized.
Think it was som sort of Kedacom driver.
Thanks

No unfortunately it's not even seen as an unrecognized device.

I tried that earlier with no luck.
I was able to borrow a friend's known working Nexus 5X and plugged it into my PC and it was detected just fine. Swapped my 5X in using the same cable and USB port and nothing. I'm beginning to suspect a hardware issue.

Hi all,
I just bought a Galaxy Nexus and I'm having problems with the ADB port: my Lenovo w520 laptop running win7x64 simply does not detect the ADB device in device manager. I tried connecting the phone to my wife's laptop (HP running win7x64) and the ADB device is detected so it is not a problem of the phone or the cable. On my pc I only get the Galaxy Nexus MTP device and that is all.
It is not a matter of driver, there is simply no device detected hence it is not possible to send ADB command.
I do not know if it is related, but samsung USB mobile driver fails during installation without giving a valid reason.
anyone having similar problem ?
thanks
cheerts
So... how do you know its not a driver issue? Sounds like one to me. Have you tried manually installing other drivers?
Well, what is actually strange is that:
1) if I connect the phone to my wife laptop with USB debugging ON and no driver installed (it's HER pc, I cannot install my stuff), a composite device with two devices (MTP and ADB) is detected.
2) in fastboot mode, my laptop detects the ADB port and install proper drivers; using Galaxy Nexus toolkit, I can successfully list my device.
When the phone is fully booted, my laptop simply see only the MTP device. If it were just a matter of driver i would simply get an Unknown device in win7 device manager...
thanks
cheers

Eh. Fastboot is all you need.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
After several attempts (including installing win7 x64 in a virtual machine ...) I finally solved my problem: it was indeed a driver issue, my win7 did not automatically searched for proper driver (and the Samsung driver is available on-line in windows update). I forced a driver update for the MTP device so that windows downloaded Samsung driver and now both the phone and ADB port are detected and working. It is still a mystery why the driver provided by various tool-kit failed to install, but nonetheless the GNex is now fully set-up.
Actually the solution is so dumb that I feel a bit ashamed of myself...
thank
bye
After going through a replacement process (twice) after cracking the screen on my first device, I was relieved to find that the replacement I got sent wasn't updated to un-moddable status. However, after using rumrunner to s-off, flashing cwm 6.0.4.8 recovery, and using that to install cm11 m6 snapshot, I was disappointed to find that my phone will not connect to Windows in a manner where I can access USB storage. Enabling debugging in dev options does initiate the "device plugin sound" from Windows, but after looking in device manager, all that shows up there is "Android ADB Interface". When debugging is disabled, Windows makes no sounds, and there is nothing in the device manager. The only response i'm receiving is that the charge light on the device comes on. I would try to install drivers, but seeing as the computer doesn't even recognize that a device is plugged in, i'm pretty much halted on that front. Any comments or solutions would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers!

Unfortunately, as the computer doesn't even react at all when I plug in the device, I can't manipulate drivers at all. That means no uninstalling or installing :/

which windows are you on?
also HTC driver was an EXE file so you should be able to find in the uninstall program portion of windows.

ah okay, install sync manager:
http://www.htc.com/us/software/htc-sync-manager/
once the windows sees the phone. feel free to remove the sync portion of the install and keep the driver installer on the pc.
this should fix it and wont mess with ADB or fastboot.
Hehe, thanks. I guess I'm just a little paranoid about having junky, manufacturer specific software on my pc. Will see if this works.

me too. :/ but i found that this was the less headache way for me. sync and drivers will show up as 2 different installers. i deleted sync and kept the drivers. im sure one can uninstall the driver installer part of htc software and windows will keep the ini file intact but i never tried this.

Someone with more knowledge please help me.
I can not, for the life of me, get my computer to recognize my watch.
I've tried everything, I've tried installing the driver package another user posted.
I've enable usb debugging in dev settings.
I have adb working correctly but when I type adb devices it's blank.
The only glimmer of hope is I successfully connected my watch via bluetooth debugging and got a debugging dialog on my watch.
I've tried on two computers as well
I really need a detailed guide on how to get my computer to recognize this damn thing
Thanks - A very frustrated novice

Just managed to get my watch into fastboot mode but I still can't connect or recognize device in adb
Are you trying to connect while the watch is unlocked (screen on, not in ambient mode or off)?

Does your PC react at all when you plug in the USB cable? (Sorry if this is too basic.) Just wondering if its a bad charging cable.

Yes, my pc makes a noise and in my device manager the watch is identified as a Marshall London device. I think that's due to one of the many drivers I attempted to install. Thanks for your help by the way

Any ideas?
I have some problem how to solve??Any one have solve?
Thx
I've posted this many times in the various Huawei forums and it has worked for everyone so far.
First, remove all other drivers using USBDeview.
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/usb_devices_view.html
Then use this tutorial to manually install the Google USB driver.
http://visualgdb.com/KB/usbdebug-manual/
Good luck!
edit - here is a fool proof method.

I know it's been a long time but were you able to find a solution ? I'm having the exact same problem.
For some reason whenever I try to root my new OnePlus 3 it fails.
The ADB command prompt recognizes my phone, all the way up to the "fastboot oem unlock" command. Once that happens it only says "waiting for device" and nothing more.
I havent been able to really find anything concrete about how to fix this, you guys got any other ideas?
Thanks
Have you installed the Google USB drivers? Are you using a good quality usb lead or some generic crap? Does "fastboot devices" list your device? Can you see your device in the Windows device manager? Does it show any errors in device manager?
Or to get to the point - it's either a driver issue or a cable/usb port fault.

Windows makes a connection sound but nothing pops up in "this pc" or device manager. Device manager refreshes but nothing related to Pixel 3xl. Only thing in device manager is 3 logitech devices under other devices. Very strange indeed

Try a different USB cable and port. C to c cables have issues if you're using one of them.
