touchwiz 4 for SGS +

Does anybody has already ported touchwiz 4 to sgs+?

TW4 download
Download and Install TW4 Manager.apk (View attachment 734634 )
Then open it, go to "check for updates", then select " Latest stable version". It will download it from the internet, so do it over WiFi, if you don't have a data plan....and install it.
That's it. Easy as it could be....
Don't forget to hit the "thanks" button..

Thank you. Works well. The only thing I had to install Busybox and restart the phone.

somehow i cant download the latest stable version
i always get the error: "Error while fetching informations."

doesn't work for me... i updated to the last version but when i tried to install the apk it said: ''application not installed'' (dutch: applicatie niet geinstalleerd) am i doing something wrong?
it's working now i unrooted the device and forgot to root it again....

Root with BusyBox needed

just had my phone rooted last week.. will try this this week

Hi! This launcher replaces the original one, and is also named the same, so you can not restore it to previous version.But maybe you could just replace it with an old version from somewhere?
This is because it is also an original Samsung launcher....that's why it is good to have another launcher installed (like adw launcher)in case that something went wrong, you can still operate with your phone and correct the instalation.

Hi ,Guys.U must install "BusyBox.apk"

well that did not fix my problem
my cause for my problem was that i didnt let the tw4 manager access to the internet
so he couldnt download anything

I cant seem to install it.. downloaded the lastest stable version and when I install it shows the application installing bar then "application not install". help please?

How come it doesn't work anymore? I re-flashed my firmware and followed the instructions here.. but what happened was the TW launcher was uninstalled

Can someone post or teach how to restore the original i9001 twlauncher? Cause i failed to use the new launcher and the old one is deleted. Please, please, please teach me how to restore back.thanks

maybe u can restore the old launcher by copying the tw3 lauchner into system\app\

before running updates on tw4 launchr it was there but after running it got deleted.. anyhow, what I did is just restore the backup that i had in titanium. Had it restored but it doesn't solve my question

How install TW4 it doesn't work. I don't know what is busybox too...

Odex system files.

Trying to push system odex files, from a different ROM to my current. I've fixed permissions, etc. I can't get it to install. Btw, its the sense clock widget. No matter what I do, I can't find it in the widget list. Even after a reboot. What am i missing? The ROMs are compatible, same Sense version. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

So you are trying to push the HtcClockWidget.apk from your pc to your phone? Have you tried using a file manager to move the file to the app folder?

Actually just using file manager. Didn't figure a push from PC would be any different.
EDIT: Just pushed from pc , till no go.

Have you set group and owner to root? Actually pushing from a pc should give it the correct owner and group, using a file explorer wont. Other than that im not sure why it wont show up.

Both are root and perms are 644. This is frustrating because I can't even get the stock clock back now.

Try flashing this thru recovery after wiping dalvik-cache and the cache partition. (http://dinc.does-it.net/Htc_Clock_Widget.zip)

Try downloading the file above again and flashing it. I have made a couple additions to it that may be needed for the widget to work.

Thank you, but I just restored a nandroid. I was trying to get the EVO classic minimal flip clock on my current hybrid. I'm gonna look at the EVO mikg hybrid. It got a theme with the same clock.
Edit: Just did it the hard way. I just replaced all the .png files and pushed.

[Solved]Can't Update OTA : Help needed

Hi All,
I'm on 1.25.720.1 Indian Version, unrooted & stock recovery from here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=5178
When I try to update OTA, stock recovery is giving error(image attached)
I have tried almost everything. But no solution. Same error is showing every time.
Please help.

It was the stock recovery from king doing the problem.
I found the stock Indian recovery from the OTA .zip itself.
It was with me & I was searching for the solution.

Even after having flashd the recovery from the OTA update zip, I face an error - "unexpected content in build.prop"
Any ideas how to go about it???

Have you edited that??
Try to get build.prop from my backup...
(backup your current rom>flash my backup>copy build.prop > reflash your backup >replace the build.prop with the copied one) . I'm on 1.58, that's why I'm not giving mine.

I havent modified a single line in build.prop file, and I already am using your 1.50 ROM backup from your thread, so I guess I will skip the 1.58 update and wait for the next update in your thread
The D816 keeps throwing newer problems time and again....anyways thanks for maintaining that thread!

Yeah bro.... Now its having a lagging problem in 1.58.....I'm not experiencing it...but whoever flashed my latest backup is reporting lag.
Me too waiting for the next update.

hey there, I copied and pasted to my system/app file and changed permissions to r--r--rw as you said, or in my case, as my phone shows it, rw--r--r, but I still did not get the same result as what your pic showed. Is there something I did wrong here?

just install like normal apk. worked for me on my 910t.

if you are on the most recent version of the app, it may not install over it, i would either uninstall it or if you are not rooted try to find a lower version and install over that. kind of like a downgrade. it works for me but the playstore wants to update it. just dont let it

After much messing around with my phone, I finally decided to go into system/app and delete the original vvm file, and then go into app manager and turn it off, and uninstall it. I then copied this file over to my sd card, pushed it to sys/app and then rewrote the permissions, rebooted, and FINALLY HAVE THE DARK THEMED VVM!!! Now, whether it stays like that or not, that is to be determined!! But thanks for all the help guys!!:victory:

I bought my Zenfone2 2gb version yesterday and immediately problems. When I launch WA message pops up about WhatsApp tries to read Contacts. Does anyone have a fix for that. Its really annoying.

just select "Do not show next time" and allow it...You won't be bothered anymore...Although i am not sure why is the app asking for permission...Have u denied any permission to the app or sumthin coz it should not ask u to grant permission for this...

I tried all the combinations and nothing changed. Still popping up. Same happens when Im taking picture with Facebook messenger, every time asks me if it can use the camera.

That's weird, I've never seen that before on my phone. Is that a built in Android thing or is it one of the Asus bloatware apps?

Mee too... I dont think it is either of them... There is no such kinda bloatware in Asus and it cant be built-in android thing as we are not getting this prompts...Maybe he has installed some kinda app which notifies about permissions

Perhaps its that antivirus that Asus included. I uninstalled that right away, as it let me do so.

What antivirus?! I didnt install any of that crap. I found that this happens on zenfone 5 and there is a fix for that.
EDIT. What is the latest firmware? System update tells me is the latest version installed but I thing it isnt.
EDIT 2. Yep there is a newer version available. Ill try to install it and see if its happening again

It was some DrVirus or something like that. I don't remember exactly because I uninstalled it before it had a chance to run.

So it wasn't dr virus or watever that was Was updating easy for u i mean u deleted the system app...Many people had problems updating after deleting some bloatware....
