No Ringtone for incomming Call when in an App - Huawei Mate 20 Questions & Answers

Hi guys,
I cannot believe I am the only one with this issue, but my phone does not ring when an incomming call is received and you are in an app or game , it rings just fine when you aren't in a app. The phone puts a little call accept or reject icon on the screen when you get an incomming call, but there is no sound in the form of a ring tone when you are in an app. This is annoying as hell, as I have missed a fair few calls due to me not looking at my phone when a call is received and I have had an app running.
I have tried setting different permissions, mainly in the call management app, but nothing seems to fix the issue. Maybe I am doing something wrong and I am hoping you guys can steer me in the correct direction please.
Phone - Huawei Mate 20
Service Provider - iD (UK Service Provider over 3 Network I believe).
Many Thanks in anticipation of your help.
Gary.

As far as I know, while an app is opened from within the App Assistant folder, with Uninterrupted Gaming on, incoming calls won't ring or vibrate.

Found it now thanks for the help, I will try and fiddle with that setting and see if it makes any difference for my issue. Thanks again.

Yep that got it, thank you so much Tindersticks, you have far better knowledge of the Mate 20 than Huawei customer support who had me factory resetting my phone and other such wierd and wonderful suggestions.
Thanks so much, really appreciated!

[Q] Call muted when there's another incoming call

After 30 minutes of going through posts in this forum trying to look for a solution, and apparently I couldn't find what I was looking for, I've decided to create this post.
Something really weird started happening to my arc recently. Whenever there's an incoming call (call waiting) while I'm talking on the phone, everything gets muted immediately. I cannot hear the other party, and vice versa. Even though I answer the call waiting call, we couldn't hear each other at all. I had to reject the call waiting call in order to be "connected" with the current call again. At first I thought it was some carrier, reception issues, but it's not. The bars were full and I've tried restarting the phone, but it didn't help. I was wondering if anyone has the same issue after upgrading to 2.3.3 and how did you fix this? I didn't notice anything like this before I upgraded. Any help is appreciated!

Do you have the Viber app installed? I saw somewhere that some phones react like this because of Viber.
Sorry I don't seem to have noticed that either and I recieved a call waiting bleep while I was on a call just yesterday
I can confirm its the Viber app, I just uninstalled it and the problem is gone!

[Solved] Random Max In-Call Volume & Max In-Call Volume on each reboot

Whenever I make or receive a call, I see my in-call volume at maximum level! I don't understand why it keeps doing this? I noticed this problem on all 3 of note 2. I keep adjusting to low but randomly just gets reseted to max again. Anyone else having the same issue with T-Mobile Note 2?
Update: finally found the culprit of this problem. The app "Tango" video chat messes with the in-call volume. Once account & app was uninstalled even after the reboot in-call volume setting never changed. Everything stayed as I left it and no more random MAX in-call volume.
Video to show what Tango is doing to my in-call volume.
Nobody has this issue? how come all 3 of my Note 2 has this issue =/
Anyone?
Sorry, this doesn't help but I usually keep my in-call volume at max so I haven't noticed this.

Thanks for the reply. I don't know how you keep the volume at max.. maybe it's just my phones but it's too painfully loud for me.
Would you mind trying to lower the call volume to lowest setting and restart the phone? See if the call volume goes back to max, I would really appreciate that.
For whatever the reason, the volume setting is not getting saved. So annoying since everytime i answer a call, it's trying to blow my eardrums out!
I'm guessing nobody has this in-call volume issues on their T-mobile Note2? Should I be considering an exchange....??
Just FYI multiple post saying anyone? Anyone? Pple just find annoying. Not trying to be rude. But from what I noticed from posts from other forums. Is when pple do that. They will never receive help or a reply from someone. Especially when the OP keeps doing that all in the same day.
Sometimes if you want help. You need patience. Especially here on xda. Pple here don't live there lives to help you. Right when you make a new post. Sometimes it could take days or even a week or two. But I'm positive if you don't do multiple post like this. And wait or even search the web. Even user a different phone. You will find ur answer. Remember google is ur best friend.
Anyways I don't no if its because of my rom or not but mind keeps going to vibrate and I have to keep turning it back to sound + vibrate
Oh ya you also have to be detailed when asking questions. Are you rooted or not. Stock or flashed a rom. Which rom. ...you get the point. The more you tell use the more likely a chance someone will help you. If you choose not to look it up urself
My bad, wasn't trying to be annoying or anything. I searched around in many different forums but still no answers and didn't get any replies on this issue, even the t-mobile support didn't know what was causing this issue. I guess I was running thin on patience.
I'm running all on stock and all 3 devices does this. T-Mobile sales rep said maybe it's part of the feature.. But we all know that's b/s. Changing in-call volume randomly doesn't sound much like a great feature to me....

Ya unfortunately that sucks. If you were rooted I would say try to flash a different rom. But since ur not my best guess would be to search around for an app that has something to do with volume/ in call volume. There's an app for everything these days. Ur just gunna have to read all the details in every volume app you can find. I'm sure there's something. Good luck. If you happen to find something. Post it hear in case others run into the same problem as you in the future.
Am I the only one with this problem? I wish some of the same device/carrier users would give me some feedbacks so I can figure out what to do....
you talking about in call volume or ringer volume? if its in call volume im pretty sure that if i lower it during a phone call it stays that volume even on the next call
im not 100% sure though...and im not sure if it stands through a reboot but i am pretty sure...cause i dont leave my in call volume on max because it is quite loud and distorted...if it always went back up to max i probably wouldve noticed..again not 100% sure

It's the in-call volume. I have no idea what's causing this... When I lower the volume it will stay that way only for that call and next call or sometimes even during the call volume goes up to max randomly. It's driving me nuts cause it's so loud and I can't even answer the call without worrying its gonna blow my eardrums!
I tried restoring factory but that didn't help and all three of my Note 2 do this so I'm lost here. Not like I rooted and modified anything, all is in stock.
Would you mind trying to put in-call volume to lowest and rebooting the phone? See if it goes back to max by default. That's how mine is set to every reboot.

Try rebooting, see if that setting sticks.
It does this all randomly. Setting will stay that way for awhile and all of sudden max volume.

yeah..volume went back to max after reboot
try this
go to dialer -> call settings -> my call sound...there are 2 options that might help you...one for sound settings (maybe choosing one of them will help you) or personalize call sound..that one asks you to plug in ear phones..im not sure what happens after you run that test and if it only applies to earphones but you can try it

Why would it do that... It's not suppose to. I never had that issue with ATT Note, N7000 and i9300... I get the feeling many people just don't pay too much attention to it and when it does go up, people just lower the volume and forget about it.
Whatever the reason setting of the in-call volume isn't being saved. And something is making it to go back to default. Just don't know what though...
Keep your eye on that volume, and check if it goes up randomly.
P.S. I really appreciate the replies, been waiting for awhile.

Yeah, I really didn't want to annoy anyone but this little bug was driving me insane. Spending hours with T-Mobile tech supports weren't even helpful either. I hope it isn't a defective unit... Please let me know if you notice this issue! Thanks again =)
I think I found the culprit. Seems like "Jays headset control" app was causing this issue. It was never an issue on any other device but not sure why it's causing on note2. I uninstalled the app yesterday and so far problem hasn't come back yet. Time will tell but so far so good.
Thanks for looking and replying to my post. I can finally relax!
Update: wasn't jays app... Still having issue.

mic low input problem during call

hi to all,
i search everywhere and i flashed the phone around 15 times, just to see if its a rom problem.
i try all the cloudy'S stock rom but still the same.
so when i receive or i make a CALL i hear very well but the other person can't hear me,
to make it working i must activate the speaker option to communicate with the other person.
But as many people write here when we activate the speaker the second mic is activated but the lower mic is also in
good reception so maybe i must change something, somewhere???
please help me,thanks to all
Mine too... used to only be first call second would work... although now it is almost every call for me.
BTW, I have never had problems with bluetooth calls!
Although bluetooth works, it does not seem to be a hardware mic issue (like a dirty mic as some suggest), seems to be a codec bug. I'm pretty sure of it because I have call recording on my phone and my recorded voice (that no one can hear on my first call) is distorted like it is down converting my voice to only 4-12kbps.
I hope the ZVE update with HD voice will place a new codec in the phone dumping the buggy one.
Deciding to update to latest ZVE version to give it a try.... will try and let you know if it worked.
I've actually started having this problem as well, but I have never touched the software on the phone. Bone stock. I wonder if there is some systemic hardware issue with the mic.
Sent from my LG-LS980 using XDA Free mobile app
Fyi I factory reset my phone and it seems to have fixed the mic. Heavy price to pay for a non-rooted phone but at least my phone works as a phone again.

After a 1 week with Moto 360

I received my beautiful Moto360 a week ago,since then I loved it.
I'm less like to use my phone outside,of course I'll make calls from it I can read all of my mails, whatsapp messages, calendar events. It's very very usefull and fast. At the beginning, I don't think this watches can help me at my normal life, but it seems that it's helping a lot. I really don't have to use phone for small things, watch vibrates gently and you can read notifications anytime
Also I don't have any battery problems with it, my phone and watch ( always on mode off because it's useless) can survive a full day with 3g connection. That's enough for me, I don't have any screen problems, screen looks gorgeous. I dont notice any crack yet but I dont think there will be any watch seems ok and I just saw survey about cracks and it's low rate ( thankfully)
I'm open to any question about this awesome watch.
Hi, can you reply to notification from whatsapp message directly from the Moto 360 ?

You can reply with preload answers like "yes", "no", "I'm on the way". Or you can reply with your voice
With which phone you use it? Is it possible to use with every device(or at least every with 4.x + Android)?
Does it feel as good as it looks?^^

Just to add on, to reply with pre-loaded answers you'll need to swipe up from the voice screen. It took me a while to figure that out. Hope this helps.

incoming call issue

Good morning, i have got this problem from the first day that i bought the phone and online it seems that no one has got my same issue, so i write here for some help.
The problem is this: every time i'm on a phone call and i receive a message: SMS or whatsapp the phone puts the call in a waiting state(the other telephone on the call can hear only the beep of the telephone and i can't hear anything ) and i'm unable to continue the call,i first thought was a device problem so i switched the device and bought a new one but the problem still stays, so i suppose is a software/ configuration problem but i couldn't find the solution, the problem is "fixed" only if i answer with speakerphone active. I hope u can help me because i'm going crazy with this problem.
Thank you
Looks like my mom has similar issue
I don't think that it is related to sms or messages.
Each conversation, after a few minutes, I start hearing bips and then she can't hear me anymore.
Would really like to hear if you found a solution. Factory reset didn't help in my case.
