Hi all,
I got my Nexus Prime today. I'm quite impressed, but it has a problem that's driving me mad.
When I first turned on my handset and entered my Google username it tried to download all the old apps from my previous Android handsets - I didn't ask it to nor did I want it to! Anyway, this failed part way through and none of the apps actually installed.
Since owning this device a few hours ago I cannot install anything through the Android market at all. I keep getting told that the download failed due to an error, but nothing further.
I've tried rebooting the handset but nothing appears to be able to be downloaded.
I can download from other sources, for example I downloaded the Swype installer and that installed fine, from the Swype website (Swype states it's not compatible with this handset!)
I'm not sure if this is a general bug or if there's something wrong with my individual handset but it would be interesting to see if anyone else has this problem?
Hi I had this problem too, unfortunately clearing cache and data from Market doesn't do anything (at least for me), I had to do a factory reset, worked for me and my friend who also had the same problem.
Damn, after an evening of customising my handset I was hoping not to have to do that.
So it appears we've discovered an issue with this handset.
Yep, that fixed it.
Annoying though..............

The way to avoid that is by skipping the initial guide and then att your account in settings instead. I agree that they should just ask you instead but the above way has worked ever since that feature was intruduced in 2.2.
Sorry for the bump but I'm having the exact same issue.
Just rooted the phone and after all apps were restored I tried downloading apps and keep getting that error.
I already did a factory reset several times and nothing. Just tried skipping the setup and adding my google accounts later but I'm still getting the same error :X
Anyone has any idea how to fix this problem? Do I have to return my phone?
It's been driving me crazy..

I seem to have managed to fix this now. I popped my sim into my old android phone, I noticed that the apn settings being used on old phone are different to those GN has setup by default for my network provider. I just copied those through to the new phone and market works again . Hope this helps someone.
Having the same issue also. I'm on Telus in Canada and the APN settings are the same on my old phone. I have done a factory reset and am still having this issue. Please help!
Are you guys rooted? If you are it could be the ROM your using?

Or just let it restore, and wait. It can take hours, let it do its thing. By tomorrow will be working again.

You are right. It's the weirdest problem I've seen but somehow it just fixed itself.. Apps install fine now (too bad I didn't know that before doing a million factory resets and deleting my settings)
Figured it out. I had to clear the proxy address in my apn settings
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
seems my Service Provider's settings where blocking downloads esp the Proxy... hmmmm
I've had this problem since yesterday, Market wont download over wifi or data network, messages 'Error while processing payment' or '... could not be downloaded due to error'
I'm running a stock GSM nexus and have tried clearing the market data and rebooting but no luck, I'd rather not have to do a factory reset if I can avoid it.
Any ideas anyone?
Anyone get this on their GT3 7.0 wifi edition. Mine started getting this yesterday it will do this sometimes just unlocking the screen. I have done a FDR twice and no luck.

excuse me for my English, I used google translator for that.
recently bought a galaxy tab 3, SM-T210 model, and since I had received costantes crashes on screen "kernel panic upload mode", already realized trading unit for the same model and still the error occurred in the new device and all this in less than a day of use.
I wonder about people who are having the same problem and if any have a solution for this since it does not find much about it on the internet.
edit.: my firmware is official Brazilian T210XXAMF5_T210ZTOAMF1_ZTO. if the official firmware from another country does not have problems please as this is also one solution.
ps.: I've done a "hard reset."

No one knows any solution yet as of now. i guess it's not on the firmware but it's on the kernel and no one wants to discuss it anymore. I don't know why,
I tried different firmwares and made so many hard reset but it is still happening to my tablet
Glad I was able to catch this before updating my software.
Will be postponing update now.
THanks

do you have antivirus and battery saving application installed? try uninstalling them. and see if there are any changes. btw.. Mine seems to work just fine now. haven't encounter the KPUM in 3 days straight. also fyi this KPUM happens all over the world.. yeah, heard that right. search "kernel panic upload mode" on twitter and see what Im talking about. (.. my tab firmware is xxamge.
I get the same message
I find that at least twice a week I switch off my Tab 3.0 7" and it will switch itself on and go into Kernal Panic Upload Mode. This will run the battery flat in 3 hours and the device gets very hot. I am mostly using Sygic and Samsung Music. I will have to ask for my money back if this keeps happening as my Tab 3 is useless with a flat battery. Very dissappointed.

Stock (AU) - not even 24 hours old
Bought mine yesterday, less than 24 hours old, have installed AVG antivirus, Glucose Buddy, NAB, Westpac & IMDB apps only. (Each of these is running on my S4 (and also on my old S2)), and got my first Kernel Panic Upload Mode a couple of minutes ago.
I did tether it to my S4 this morning, but it has been 'untethered' for the last 4 hrs prior to the panic mode thingie.
Completely stock standard - Android V 4.1.2, Kernel version 3.4.5-1256430, Build No JZ054K.T210XXAMG7
So this is a problem for all tab 3. Hope sam will fix these soon. Tab 2 is much stable
Hi, I'm new to the forum and hoping to get some help. I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 WI-Fi model, when ever I rotate the screen I get a message "Network Unavailable, please try again later" I have reset the device by doing a factory reset but it just keeps happening. Please help!
Someone else posted about this issue and is was related to an app.
They cleared the data for it or uninstalled it and that fixed it. Sorry not sure of the thread now but if I come across it again I'll come back.
If I remember correctly, (I've been lurking for awhile) the culprit was the Samsung WatchOn app and clearing the apps cache was the fix.
But I could be wrong.
Hi thanks for replying, I have tried clearing Samsung WatchOn app but every time I switch back on it happens again.

Why don't you try one of the rotation apps. Disable the stock rotation then I highly recommend the one below, choose 'Force auto turn' maybe that will solve your problem.

My Note 7 started shutting down on its own. Now whenever I boot the device, it tells me "To start up your device, enter your password."
Problem is, I don't know which password it's referring to.
I don't flash any ROMs or root. Just stock Samsung stuff.

All Samsung phones ask u for a password or pattern when you restart. It is referring to tge one you created at the time of setting up your finger print
Sent from my SM-N930F using Tapatalk
The thing is, I never created a password! I have always left it as swipe to unlock. I use the LED cover case, so it unlocks as soon as I open the case.

Oh great. After trying several passwords, it tells me to restart the device and now it goes into restarts over and over at the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 logo. I don't see the password screen anymore.

Thanks.
My device just went crazy. But it miraculously allowed me to get back into Android as usual. Needless to say, backed up everything. And now it's back to crazy.
Now to decide whether to bring it to Samsung now or wait for the Note 7 exchange.
This issue is somehow related to the boot loop issue that is being experienced by some. And me. One of my Note7 is showing this prompt once in a while when it gets into boot loop. Then when I key in the Android unlock PIN, it says its wrong. What I am doing now if I encounter this prompt is to hard reset (Power + Vol Down buttons) the unit.
i had this issue during set up.. i just swapped out my sim card with my old one and it worked lol. haven't had this happen after set up though. factory reset?
My unit is completely busted. Samsung actually suggested I bring it for the recall exchange instead of repairing it.
So currently, they've loaned me a Galaxy S6 to tide me over.
Now I wonder, even when I get my replacement Note 7, the phone is still susceptible to the boot loop issue, right? This don't seem to be related to the faulty battery at all.
I emergency reinstalled custom ROM through SMART SWITCH, and rooted my phone, added TWRP and installed SuperMan ROM, In the time I did this I never applied a single password/code/pin/fingerprint. Now when I turn on the phone, it comes up with "To start up your device, enter password", I still have gone through and tried every password I could think of and not a single one worked. Now I can't use my phone at all. please help.

This is a complete brick error. You cannot fix it not even a service centre can. I have spent serious hours trying since about 10 days ago it is not worth the hassle trust me. You'll just have to wait for your replacement
Try "default_password". I tried it on my S7 and it worked!

Go have it exchanged.
I asked Samsung and they said it's a "firmware issue".
Unbelievably, they couldn't recover my data inside. Luckily I made frequent backups in the cloud.
I love the Note 7, but I think this might very well be the last non-removable battery phone I'll ever get.

Hey Guys,
I'm having a really big problem. Last week I was in LA for Some Music Business and I ended up meeting a lot of people in the Industry and getting their contact, exchanging messages, etc.. My Note 7 never got the 'Brick' update as I used package disabler to disable incoming updates so I've been using this exact phone for all my mobile contact needs.
Just Yesterday I received my Galaxy S8+ and All morning I've been attempting to backup my Note 7 and restore them on my new Galaxy S8+ and nothing is working. I've Tried Smart Switch (Multiple, multiple times), Smart Switch software via Mac, Backing up through Samsung Cloud, Backing Up through 3rd party 'Switch' apps, switching through Wifi, and nothing works.
The issues I have:
- Samsung Smart Switch: On my S8+ it opens and works fine. My Note 7 opens smart switch for 3 seconds and closes.
- Samsung Smart Switch Via Mac OS: It Stays stuck at the backup phase.
- Samsung Cloud Backup: It literally does nothing (as if I didn't even tap the screen)
- 3rd Party Switch Apps: Works on S8+ but Stays Stuck on Note 7 before even beginning the switch process.
I sincerely ask for some help. I've been sitting here in my home for the past 2 1/2 hours getting a headache from this and I want to get out and enjoy the day ( I live in Minnesota and its 70 Degrees today)

I think it's a bad idea. Once you get rid of package disabler the OTA will push and brick it. I would say clear the cash for Switch app and try again.

I just followed every instruction except the uninstall Package Disabler. It definitely changed things up. I can now open Smart Switch on my Note 7 and have it stay open. The issue now is it stays stuck at transferring. The transfer says it shouldn't be more than 9 minutes but 15 mins in it still shows that its at 0%. Could It be that I have an older version of Smart Switch?
That is possible I would update it and also check if your encryption is disabled on the phone and SD card if there is one.

Thing is disabling apps on my Note 7 does not allow me to re-enable them. I've had it happen to Instagram and Facebook. I also have no idea. It for some odd reason is messing with me every way it can.
I been doing the Smart Switch via the USB, so should I try it over Wi-Fi? (I thought I wanted to have Wi-Fi disabled)

I actually think I realized what the issue is. When I blocked the OTA and UFW updates I also had Package Disabler Pro disable all Bloatware. I now see that it disabled some packages that are needed for the transfer (And it also resolves and gives me an answer to my Instagram, FaceBook issue). Thing is I've been trying for the past 20 minutes to enable them (It says they are enabled but when I check they still are disabled).
Is it safe for me to uninstall package disabler pro? Wouldn't it have Samsung Push me a force update right away?

I now see that it disabled some packages that are needed for the transfer (And it also resolves and gives me an answer to my Instagram, FaceBook issue). Thing is I've been trying for the past 20 minutes to enable them (It says they are enabled but when I check they still are disabled).
Is it safe for me to uninstall package disabler pro? Wouldn't it have Samsung Push me a force update right away?

The problem with any Package Disabler app out there Sumsung pulled licenses for N7 and for that reason they stoped working in full but they still block the packages. It will be safe to uninstall it unless you haven't have pending OTA update and your phone on WiFi or data.

Thank you very much for your time and help WaterPass!!! And to all the others that commented!
I was able to figure out that the issue was that there was necessary packages that were disabled upon having disabled auto updates. This is the fix, to everyone that is interested! I hope this saves you 6 Hours
