Hi.
Updated my S9 from Oreo to official Pie. I THOUGHT til now, that it's "ok" fast and fluid.
Now recently had a MI Mix 2s here... which is SO much more fluid.. scrolling, loading apps... smooth and fast.
Any1 else experiencing something like this?
Tried official stock ROM and also Soldiers ROM...

Hello forum members,
I'm running into some serious problems with my Samsung Tab S 10.5 (T805Y)
It's really, really laggy. Sometimes getting to the point, where I go back to my 3 year old Ipad due to the slowness.
I'v tried every possible way, installing Nova Launcher, using a program to freeze all unneeded apps (forgot what it's actually called). Also "overclocking the CPU" so it runs at 100% speed all the time, but it's still never consistently fast.
I also can't install other ROMs as it's the T805Y variant. - And I really don't know when Samsung is going to release the Lollipop update to Australia, Andriod M is almost out and Australia still hasn't gotten the ROM.
Any help would be appreciated.
It's not known to be a problem or issue in this forum. Mine is speedy and buttery smooth. I would do a factory reset. I did that after the latest update to Lolipop 5.0.2 and it improved my benchmarks exponentially Good luck mate!

Same here. Right after the 5.02 update I was a bit disappointed with the performance, but after a factory reset it improved dramatically. The factory reset is my standard practice on all my devices any time there is a major version update.
My UK T800 is on still on 4.4.2 and it runs smooth not laggy or anything, makes me not want to upgrade to 5.0.2 when it is released in the UK, on top of the battery problems that have been reported as well.
John.

That is just completely not true, you will find allot of big threads focused on stuttering in this board.
Anyway, Lollipop really came true and fixed the stuttering for me.
Hello there!
I just bought the Mi Mix 2, because I wanted to get rid of my iPhone SE, the screen was just too small.
I had a Redmi 4 Prime one year ago, and I was happy with MIUI back then, but I dont like Google and want to keep the Play Services to a bare minimum (comparable to the OpenGapps Pico).
I only need the PlayStore and nothing else.
Several years ago I was a huge fan of Cyanogenmod and used it on every Phone I ever owned. Though Lineage is available for the Mix 2, I didnt like the stock Android versions which came after Kitkat. I never really got familiar with it, especially after the HoloBlue design was gone and Google tried to make the OS look more mainstream.
MIUI was very pleasant to use, but even with the xiaomi.eu ROM Google is still present with all of the services.
What ROM would you recommend for me? And which ROM are you using and why?
Sorry for my bad english!
Regards
Edit: One more question: The Redmi 4 Prime had a weird audio recording bug, where audio in videos or other recording was barely hearable and very noisy. After flashing the AICP ROM of the user unterwelt (amazing work, btw), the issue was completely gone. Back to the official MIUI ROM and it was there again. So I assume its a problem caused either by Xiaomi/MIUI or some Google services?
Anyway, is this an issue with the Mix 2? I read somewhere that it has very bad recording quality, which would be bad, because I use my phone as a recording device when Im at my way to work and so on (Im kind of a "part time" musician).

Any custom ROM is going to give u what u want, just try them. What's good for one person might not be good for u
Try MiuiPro...I flash it on several Xiaomi and everybody are happy about it
OmniRom with skizo Kernel, good battery life.
LOS and RR (based on LOS of course) have a very poor battery life atm

I'm running Lineage OS and my battery life is awesome.
8 hours screen time / 36 hours total runtime per charge.
What kind of battery life are you getting?

The official site is in Russia (the hacking, malware and ransomware capital of the world) and there is very little information about MIUIPro that I can find other than people saying its good. How is it good compared to stock or other ROMs?
I think I will give the .eu ROM a shot then, since I like MIUI. Is there any possibility to turn the Google services off? I only need the PlayStore.
Also, what about the recording sound?
Finally received my MIX 2. Looks and feels really nice!
Sadly, I have to wait for 72 hours to unlock the phone. I dont know why, because I registrated the device, but I guess its some problem with the unlock app.
Anyway, I am stuck with the global ROM for so long now. Is it worth it to "upgrade" to another rom? Because global seems to run well so far, and I guess MIUI10 is already around the corner.

That's just Xiaomi policy. Wait it out and then unlock your device.
I tried LOS and found it buggy and also significantly less smooth and responsive than MIUI 9--but for some people having stock Android is apparently worth the drop off in phone performance. There's not much risk in trying custom ROMs with this phone because it's very easy to go back to stock using the MI Flash tool.
So I don't know if I'm the only one experiencing this but why does PUBG Lag so much on the One Plus 3?
Even on the smooth settings with AA disabled, it still lags and the performance just isn't smooth.
I've tried playing the game on my mom's moto G6 and honestly I did not notice much of difference in performance. Is the game still not well optimized for SD 820?
I've tried it on OOS, Omni and right now I'm on LOS15.1
Also on LOS15.1 I'm experiencing this strange issues where the game will start up but will be unplayable and I heard a strange sound from the game. It requires a reboot to fix.
Any solutions?
Its the common issue with STOCK OREO ROMS and/or custom ROMS. I play PUBG mobile a lot on my 3t. after trying numerous kernels and profiles, I switched to NOUGAT OOS( last stable build is OOS 4.5.1) and after almost a week, I can say that PUBG does not drops frame that aggresively as it used to before and this is with stock kernel. I will switch to elemental X or Franco kernel this week?. phone throttles a bit less now. You wont be disappointed by downgrading, just make sure to NANDROID and copy it to OTG/PC
You can also try switching to sultan's LOS 14.1.
i never thought that one time i will downgrade my rom...
but i did because of pubg and i didn't regret
it is smoother than oreo ( still a small lag)
and you won't notice a big difference from oreo to nougat

So it's a problem with Oreo? That's weird.
Is the performance noticeably better on nougat rom than on oreo? What about overheating?
I really want PubG to run smoother but I find it hard to go back to nougat with Pie OOS just round the corner and 9.0 roms already showing up

YES, pubg runs smoother now.
You wont notice much difference in terms of UI in Nougat OOS. Phone don't overheat that bad still miles better than oreo??
I will upgrade when the official OOS PIE for 3t appears( without any OREO issues) next year.

I'm on OmniDragon Oreo and, PubG while not as smooth as I hoped from SD820, runs pretty well.
I have to use GFX tool but I get pretty good fps with minimal lag.
I'm using this PubG GFX Tool with settings as in the ss. You can give it a try.
Other things to note are:
1. Play on WiFi intead of mobile data.
2. Ping anything over 250 will produce lag.
3. Play FPP on Miramar. Erangel TPP is too laggy due to the excessive server load.
So I tried the game on my mom's Moto G6 again and guess what??
The game actually runs smoother on it. Minimal stutters , frame drops and no overheating. Found the performance to be more consistent than on my OP3.
How on earth can a phone with SD450 and 3 GB ram run it so well and OP3 with SD 820 and 6 GB ram cant??
Hello guys, I have recently fixed my zuk z2, and I am a little behind the new custom roms based on pie. Can anyone help me with some information about them and with a revomandation. I would prefer something stable and fluid.
I'd suggest Arrow pie and aosip pie. They both rock. However aosip has less customisation options available

Bootleggers is also excellent in battery life.. it also has lots of customisations. On the other hand Arrow OS and AEX is also very good... With Arrow OS getting faster updates (weekly)

If you want fluidity and smoothness without any animation shuttering then go with pixysos. Its buttery smooth like I'm using any pixel device. Battery is also decent. I'm in love with pisysos.

Pie rom with good battery life??
Also lineage 16 very good
AEX the best rom for our device no one can beat AEX.
MSM extended with lots of customisation that no one can beat
Try Aosip & Aex 6.x
I personally like Both ROMs are very stable giving great battery backup in compared to all other pie ROMs available right now both gives 5-6 hrs of SOT and They are quite good in pubg but they slightly lag sometimes (I have the stable wifi connection ) but the gaming was decent it gives 3-3.5 hrs of continues gaming ?? With nameless kernel

1. Syberia
2. Carbon Rom
No hassle of custom kernels. 3.5-4 hours SOT with heavy gaming. Inculing pubg and clash Royale.
Hello Im hasnt be here for last 4 months and Im dont know what is actualy best stable custom rom.....
Any advice?
Thanks for reply.
Bliss rom I'm using good
I'm using Pixel Experience - the official version. Gone are the RAM management problems and multitasking stutters. Battery life tho seems slightly worse than the stock ROM. Heard that it will be updated to Android 11, so I'm gonna stick around for awhile.
Thanks for answers
Thanks for the answers too.
I have been on stock since release, but now thinking of putting on a Rom... But am I right in thinking that if I do then 'banking apps' will no longer work ?

I tried a couple of custom ROM's (Pixel Experience, Pixel Experience plus, Havoc and crDROID) without rooting and in all cases my banking apps still worked.
However, Android Auto failed to connect properly to my car in all cases so I switched back to stock.
Of all flavours I tried, PE plus offered the most extras, FWIW.
Interesting, I thought you had to root to install a custom ROM... I will look into that, as I believe it is the root that creates issues for banking apps.
Yes, I have Pixel Experience on my Redmi Note 5 Pro, it is awesome really, would like it on my Mi A2 Lite, but need to be able to do my banking in it.
Thanks for the reply though, interesting.
