Well its nearly a week with the phone, and after I took my amoled accustomed eyes down a few notches I'm really happy with it, the battery standby longevity is up there with the iPad - amazeballs, but of a drainer when in actual use.. but all this week I've not yet managed to get the battery less than 50% after typical use at the end of each day.
However - I really wish LG would produce a better camera app. The functionality is decent, but it's missing some stuff that I'd only just started using and taking for granted on the Samsung S4.
..better yet, hopefully someone can port the S4/S5/note3 app
Yeah well they just basically made it a point and shoot camera. Not complaining though. Who knows they might update it in the near future.
Being a photographer I'm disappointed by the lack of iso adjustment and even ev options these two options would be very welcome like the galaxy line phones, even the metering isn't adjustable from whole scene to spot. If these were added along with a macro mode it would be unbeatable

Simple answer for that is change to a non standard camera app.
I was skeptical LG had opened up the manual settings for other camera apps but I can happily say, yes you have full access to all manual controls.
My favourite which controls many aspects of photography is 'A Better Camera', which has an absolute ton of settings available.
Not only does it have access to your issues but most other dedicated DSLR settings including AE Lock & WB directly on screen.
I am surprised you don't have this app installed given you report to being a photographer?

When you do it is well worth to pay and unlock all the features, you will not regret it.
Next up go into settings and then look into each section where you will notice tons of options available, especially the section 'shooting modes settings'.

I was disappointed that they had removed most of the options of the LG G2 camera, was looking forward to messing about with it, but alas no, all gone (still an amazing phone though)

Just do as I mention above ~ install 'A Better Camera'.
I know full well I'm going to have a look after posting this, but does it "A better camera" have gif/animated function? Guessing not, since it sounds too fancy, lol. Cinemagram app has the kind of feature I'm after but its not entirely at ease with the G3, and downgrades image quality to horrendous low-res.

Simple answer No.....
A Better Camera is for taking photos, nothing more, no videos gifs or other gimmicks.
It's a photographers camera app written by a photographer.
When in the recent apps window view all of the text on my open apps looks pixilated, the text was less "jagged?" on my xperia Z2, so this must be LG using low res to help with speed?
Does anyone else find this?
Thanks

If they wanna fix it they can since they added it. Its not a hardware thing as far as I know. And yeah the battery could be better as well but I live with that. The sharpening just drives me mad.

My colors are completely oversaturated. The Orange in google play looks neon and almost reddish. Whites are very blue. Probably going to replace it. My wife also got a Pixel and the colors on her device look fine.

sorry, just a little friday night humor..
my screen looks really nice, even better than my Nexus 6
obviously, there are always some phones out of the millions of screens made that might have weird looks to them. I guess thats why there is always at least 14 days to retu rn/exchange them..

If the saturation bothers you go into developer options and enable "SRGB Color".
Obviously if it is different from another Pixel that is a different story, though.

Yeah, her screen and mine look completely different. Also I have a lot of speaker popping and stuff so I'll probably just return it.
My screen has issues as well. Bottom half looks pink on white screen and top half looks white. It's not horrible but just enough to make me mad. Paying so much for a phone out right. I want a perfect one. Considering doing a replacement but worried about how long I'll have to wait for a new one.
May have to pull the S7 edge back out for a while longer.

You had to do the usual and put a hold on your card for a replacement right? I have a pink hue on the top half on my screen. I'm seriously thinking of exchanging it.
of course if you think your screen is bad, you should definitely exchange it for a different one
I guess I have been lucky, because after buying dozens of phones in my life, I never had a bad "new" one...

I chatted in to get mine exchanged, They made me send in a picture and said I'd be hearing back in 24 hours which is BS. Whenever I've had a problem with a device they have always issued a replacement order pretty much no questions asked except for the standard stuff. I don't know why this time I have to wait 24 hours.

They issued me an RMA immediately without question (for a different issue than this one though). I'm rather surprised they're asking for photo proof from you.
Erica actually mentioned it in her unboxing. Mine is fine but there is something to this.
Deviled options>simulate color space > change the option to anyone of them then go back and disable. Worked for me
Usually, I don't really like topics like this.... But now I need your opinions, guys!
Accidentally smashed my op3 and now I need a new toy.
Already watched a massive amount of videos on YouTube about the razer phone. Love the style, the shape.
However, I'm still can't decide.
Razer or OP5T?
I'm waiting for your thoughts, opinions, etc.
Thanks in advance.
i had the razer phone i sent it back less than a week, dont get me wrong love the retro metallic build and speakers. but the software seems unfinished and non optimised. the screen as fluid as it is @ 120hz just cannot compare to the OP5T in vibrancy and the screen on the RP is just shockingly too dim (even the Nokia phones have brighter LCD Screens). the op5t just feels more polished and its software more snappy. I really REALLY REALLYYYYYYY wanted to like the Razer Phone, but OP5T just seems to me a much better overall package having used both. This is totes subjective of course ...
Gave away my s8 plus and got the Razer. Love it exept for the camera. Se what they will to when oreo hits. But If I where you i would go with 5T.

Yepp and still isn't any good in my opinion, sadly.
I've got both infront of me currently, struggling to decide.
Unfortunately the 5T is giving me a bit of trouble recently.
The others are right, the RP screen is absolutely darker than others, roughly 60% of the 5T brightness and colours can seem a little washed out due to AMOLED vs LCD.
Battery life isn't anything to shout about either really and don't get me started on the camera! jeez.
Lastly, and this might come as a shock, the 5T puts out more decibels than the razer phone, the last update really undermined the volume and now my 5T has about 15% more volume, not clearer of course, but yeh.
All that being said, the Razer phone is built well, and the 120hz screen is nice! I'm trying to justify the brightness by the fact that Razer are wanting to reduce burn in and prolong the life expectancy of the phone, I guess it's not too bad really.
I'm gonna keep using the razer and sell the one I like the least after a week. Don't get me started on the camera or should I say "potato".
The one thing I don't like about the display is that it is "sunken". Nowadays most displays the glass and the picture are together, like you're literally touching the pictures. But on the Razer, you can tell that the picture is below the glass, which is weird as I haven't seen that in phones in the past 3 to 4 years at least. Not sure if I explained that correctly, but that's a con to me. I think mkhbd mentioned this in the preview video
I'm thinking about buy the phone to replace my LG V10 battery life pretty much bad on it and LG pressing trying me to buy a battery for it but they not selling it them from the website

LCD screens don't burn in. That's pretty much an AMOLED trait. The low brightness is a consequence of the 120hz technology.
after all the issues i've had with the Razer from the moment it went live to buy and now loosing a SE for a standard edition (currently using a wileyfox while the RMA process is happening) I considering selling mine on to get a different phone too.
The OP5T was on my radar as a replacement but if i'm honest I don't trust the company anymore, after the OP5 (which I had before the Razer) and it's hardware issues and OP halting the manufacturing of it so quickly so no one could buy anymore screamed of a new one with the hardware issues fixed and on top of that then there's the personal info they were taking it was the final straw and I sold the OP, of course I cuold have flashed a custom ROM onto it but i'm kinda done with that whole thing these days myself.
if you're set on the two devices it's a hard call. if you don't mind the OP personal info thing and never got burnt from them before (grant that little bit there is completely personal to me) then go for the OP5T, it'll have fantastic custom ROM support too if that's something you want.
my personal other option was the Essential Phone which tbh I think i'll get instead.

You're right the development portion of the device is lacking on here but the company do bi weekly ask me anything on the subreddit so they're very vocal. If I'm honest the lack of support imo is because of the A/B partition (something the razer has) and the lack of sales due to it costing so much on release. Now it's went down and essential are implementing project treble it might get better via custom ROMs
But again that's not very important to me anymore.

I couldn't agree more. Yet every time I go into a store and play with one of the new iPads, I nearly pull the trigger for that 120hz display. I think if it was at least brighter, there would be no hesitation.
No way I can view 400 nits outside in a Texas summer, though.

No, I'm liking everything so far. Except, no bootloader unlock or root yet.
Only real complaint I have is that I feel my previous phones camera was probably a bit better (Note 9) Surprisingly the notch didn't bother me that much and the screen is really nice. I kind of like that its more compact than my note 9.
Zero sign of image burn/retention
No issues here too, definite step up from the OnePlus 6T
