Does anyone have any ideas? Hangouts show notifications while driving. So did Android Messages app. But not the stock LG Messaging app.
Had repeated problems with Android Auto (TMO G7 Thinq on Ford Sync3 v2.3) not showing notifications or playing notification sound when receiving a text on any of several texting apps.
I tried everything I could think of: cleared data, cache, uninstalled, reinstalled from Play Store then direct from apk, I tried reverting to an older AA version, I tried different messaging apps, tried resetting app permissions, resetting notification settings, blah blah...
Finally, I gave in and decided to try a full phone factory reset, then a restore back to my oldest backup. This does seem to have worked. I'm using Textra Pro now and it's been fine for a couple of weeks, but I will edit if that changes
If you don't have any good backups, you may have to factory reset, but that's your call....and that still may not fix the AA notification thing for you. Wow, that's all I can think to try. Good luck!

Alright, I'm running Deck 1.2.1, no customer kernels. This was happening before I rooted as well though.
Google Voice will work on my phone for the first few texts of the day. I'll receive a few just fine, but then it stops. After it stops, it won't sync or refresh at all. The circle stays there, and when I send a text from the phone, it gets stuck in an infinite send loop.
I've uninstalled, turned off data, and such. I can use it through google.com/voice but not on the phone.
Any clever ideas?
I had the same issue on stock 2.2 unrooted. I uninstalled the app cleared the cache and reinstalled the voice app. note that once you re-install the app, the app changes your voice settings on the website and un-checks "Receive text messages on this phone". You will have to turn it back on. It worked fine for me after that. You may want to force stop PC Synchronize (A background service) and clear cache and data on that too. The only other solution I found if that didn't work was a complete wipe. Hope this helps!
Thanks a lot raremind. I uninstalled, wiped cache, and reinstalled. Like you said I checked the website and found the "Receive text messege on this phone." box was unchecked. Everythings working perfect now.
Appreciate it man.
I've been using Go SMS Pro for a while along with Tablet Talk. Recently, I've been having some Weird Stuff happening. Go SMS will often have a notification that "Sticks" even after I've read a message, making me have to hit clear. Message syncing has also been a bit quirky lately.
So I've uninstalled Go SMS Pro after backing up the settings to the internal memory/sdcard. But when I go into Messaging and re-enable notifications, it does not allow me to set the corresponding ringtone/vibrate settings anymore. I have tried clearing data on the messaging app with no success. I'm running the current stock T-Mobile ICS firmware with root.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
I'm having a problem restoring my push notifications on the Facebook app when I switch between ROMs on my GS3.
I have Paranoid Android installed now, and I previously had the latest AOKP build. I backed up the AOKP build via the recovery, then flashed PA, restored apps from Titanium, and here I am. But.. no Facebook notifications! I tried logging out and back into the FB app to "reregister" the device with the Google Cloud Messaging service or whatever, in order to hopefully restore the notifications, but no dice! I also disabled and re-enabled notifications within the FB app.
Strange thing is if I restore my AOKP backup, then I get flooded with all of the old notifications from FB!
Other apps seem to work fine for push notifications -- Gmail, WhatsApp, Google Voice, even Facebook Messenger. It's just the app itself doesn't seem to like to notify me unless I go back to AOKP.
Anybody experience anything like this?
It's happened to me before, did you dirty flash? I went from one rom to another without a factory reset by accident, usually do it. But most everything worked fine except for the facebook app messages so I ended up just uninstalling and reinstalling the facebook app and it worked! I eventually did factory reset my device though just incase there were other issues I hadn't yet come across.
Silly me... I just uninstalled and reinstalled the app, and that did the trick! I assumed logging out and back in was as good as uninstalling and reinstalling, but I guess not!
I did do a clean flash initially, with wiping everything.
Thanks for the idea!:good:
I have a Verizon LG G3 running stock/rooted 4.4.2.
Today, for the 2nd time, I started receiving the unfortunately, the android.process.acore has stopped error It pretty much just constantly pops up, non stop.
Last time a few months back, I fixed it with a factory reset (annoying).
Today, it started again. I tried clearing contacts and contacts storage and google service framework, but none of that helped.
Wound up doing another factory reset.
This time, it was working fine until I added an exchange account to sync calendar and email and then I started getting the error again. I don't think that was the trigger though because of what else I figured out.
It appears as if I uninstall facebook, the error goes away. I tried uninstalling facebook, clearing contacts and contacts storage and then reinstalling, but it starts again once it gets reinstalled.
I've done this back and forth enough times now that it's clearly being caused by the facebook install. It starts as soon as I log into facebook after I install it.
I guess at least it's nice to know I can uninstall facebook and I'm good, but I want to use the facebook app still.
So now what?
I have the same problem but it's with WeChat.
Here's something you can try.
I went into Phone --> Settings and select only to display contacts from Gmail. It stopped error.
I've had my factory unlocked Galaxy S20 on T-MoUS since launch day and RCS was working perfectly. The setup was automatic with zero issues. This week my phone suddenly was stuck on "Connecting" in settings. I tried clearing Messages cache, clearing data, installing Carrier Services, and nothing worked. Uninstalled Messages and reinstalled and now in settings it says "Chat features unavailable for this device."
Any futher tips on how to get RCS working again? I have no idea really what I might have installed/uninstalled that broke the feature originially.
Thanks
