In my old LG G5 I was able to automatically switch my wi-fi when I am at home, and it then switched it ff when I am outside. This is location settings. Is there a similar way to achieve that in Mate 20?

Love the new GN. Got a question: is there an easy, non-intrusive way to auto-toggle Wifi? I'm imagining something that will turn on/off the wifi every 10 mins. If it finds a network that it knows, it'll connect to it and keep the wifi on; if not, it'll turn it back off. On the other hand, if I'm connected to Wifi and I leave the AP radius for more than a minute or two, it'll turn off Wifi and switch to 4g.
Seems like something that should be baked into Android. Am I missing something?
I don't have the perfect answer to your question, but I want to do something similar. I'm going to purchase the Locale app from 244 software to see if that works. I don't think they have a free or trial version, so I'm making a $3.99 gamble. The app description says it can do things like enable or disable wi-fi based upon your location, such as home or the office. I assume if you're home or at the office and have used those wi-fi networks before, your device would automatically connect, if the wi-fi were enabled.
Juice Defender has this feature. I use the paid version, and you can set it to manage your wi-fi connection. There's also a free version but I'm not quite sure if it has this feature.
You could use Tasker to do it too.
Hi, my device doesnt have the option to switch between 3g and edge in the cellular settings. Does anybody know why and what can I do to get them like in other wp8 devices? I had the same problem for 30 minutes on my 820, but the cellular got updated from the marketplace. Not this time, unfortunately.

I'm trying to get smart network to intelligently manage my WIFI and data networks. Data works fine, but I'm having trouble getting wifi toggle to work. The device won't see any wifi networks after wifi has toggled off. I have to manually toggle wifi to get it to connect again.
Does anyone have a alternative app solution for my purposes?
Currently I've got working with Smart Network:
Turn off data on wifi connection or screen off.
Activation timer of 20 minutes (2 minute duration) for data connection.
I would like to add:
Turn off wifi x minutes after screen off.
Activation timer (periodically connect wifi network).
keep wifi connection on selected networks (wifi whitelist).
Current setup:
Nexus 5X on 6.0.1. stock ROM.
System root 2.5.2.
Latest Xposed framework and lastest version of Smart Network and Gravity Box for MM.
ElementalX kernel 1.0.4. (stock kernel didn't work either)
I've got little hope for Smart Network app being updated (i've already posted in the appropriate thread) so i'm interested in knowing if anyone else has a similar setup.
Any suggestions?
for people who have issues (high latency/ random disconnects) in 5ghz WLAN
I think I have temporary solution :
- I use custom ROMs those have the "WIFI REGION CHANGE" settings, can be accessed from settings> WI-FI> advanced
- choose from any country, the default is blank.
- then turn off WLAN, and turn it on again, connect to your 5ghz router, now should be stable/ normal.
- to verify stability, try pinging your router while using your hand to cover upper right corner of the device.
only downside is every time we reboot the device, the setting goes back to default blank.
question: anyone have app or ROM tinkering experience, so we can install or add this menu back to any ROMs ?

Am I missing something or this basic feature that is around for years and been on every phone I had for past X years is not on Vivo X80 Pro? Phone is stuck on weak wifi, not switching to data nor other known wifi networks around. I have to manually disable wifi to force it to reconnect to stronger AP or data network. Its really annoying :-/

There is nothing like that on my X80 Pro (Snapdragon version), not in WiFi section, tried even searching for Network Assistant in setting, no results. Could you post screenshot? Got FW 12.0.12.7

this missing feature is highly underestimated
