Under display and gestures option I have sleep set at never turn off and Stay Awake is checked also , under developer options I have stay awake checked. Under wifi I have high performance mode and keep Wifi on during sleep chosen. And still this POS keeps going to sleep. Does anybody have a solution for this ? thanks
Why would anyone want the phone to stay awake and drain the battery?
Stay awake is only for when charging. If you have the display Timeout set to never and it is still turning off you have problems.

There's an app by runks on the play store called stay awake. It'll do what you ask.
I leave my display on with a recipe up so I don't have to keep unlocking it with floury hands

What do you care why they want to do this? If you don't have helpful information don't post! Geeesh, I'm sick of wasting my time reading these types of posts on forums, it just makes finding answers difficult and time consuming.
Hey all,
Not sure if im the only one who has this but..
When ever i enable the setting Stay Awake (screen will never sleep while charging), it will do so, but later on i notice it doesn't do it anymore.
Then i check the setting and i notice the setting is disabled.
Then i enable it again, and later on its disabled again by itself.
I had this with the stock rom, wanam rom, and now also with the omega rom.
Whats the deal with that?

My EVO 4G had a no-timeout setting and I loved it because the screen would stay on whether it was charging or not. I went looking for an app that might do that and found this for you:

I have the exact same problem from time to time, and im running usa at&t stock. The only thing I can think is maybe I accidentally hit power saver at some point and it clears the stay awake.

My stay awake option always turns off after a reboot, and my power saving option is off. Haven't figured it out yet.

There is. But connection to a charger is required. Try NoMoarPowah! app. You can set a custom time to boot your phone. Like 5 mins before your alarm starts.
Just charge your phone before sleep , and after it got 80-100% remove the charger , put your phone next to you , airplane mode on , the battery will last longer and the alarm will ring , and the battery is safe , you can try kilavuzcu method too if you want

Thank for your answer, but still it need a charger to do that. But i want it to work like the old phone alarm. Maybe i can wait for the developer to make it happen.

I don't think there will ever be a solution which doesn't need charger. When an android phone is off, it's really off. You can't run any software if device is completely off.
But why you want to turn your phone off? You can still use an app like "Deep Sleep Battery Saver". When screen off, it turn off wifi, mobile network, other apps etc and you don't need to turn off your phone, your alarm is going to work fine and when you wake up your battery will stay at %98-96.

hi kilavuzcu, i'll try that. thanks
My wife has a ATT M8 s-off and converted to developer edition. I upgraded it to Marshmallow a month ago. Since the upgrade the battery drains for some reason. even in airplane mode over night.
How do I debug this? any way without ROOT? The device is running mobileiron for corporate email and I prefer not to ROOT it.
Thanks!
This morning I looked at the battery stats after a night in airplane mode. the device didnt go to sleep at all when the screen was off. How do I try to debug whats going on? Should I just RUU back to 5.0?

Yeah, that is a lot; especially if that is in airplane mode.
Good place to start would probably be to figure out what app is holding a wakelock. There are apps that can determine that, including Watchdog Task Manager.
Some updates:
1. Watchdog didnt show any suspicious apps, maybe because there's no root?
2. I removed the account from mobileiron and uninstalled facebook. The device started sleeping again for several days.
3. With mobileiron still deactivated, facebook was installed again and device was still sleeping. facebook messenger was installed again and not sure if related yesterday night the device didnt go to sleep at all even on airplane mode.
4 What can be wrong? Should I try to RUU again?
Thanks

Have you debloated your phone? When I first bought the phone, it drained about 20% to 30% per night but after debloat, the phone does about 10% per night.
