After updating to Pie, I found out that the fingerprint gestures are missing. Searched in settings and found the swipe fingerprint section but it seems to be empty. Any ideas?
Same problem here
Maybe fix in december security patch
I have the same problem. after the november security patch, i turned it on immediately. but when i updated to pie (via the vpn method), the option disappeared.
I think Google or Xiaomi will fix it in december security patch. be patient

Do you mean that all gestures are missing? The menu gesture is still there although not in the settings. Swipe left to right.

Dude mine still works but like it extremely buggy but the option is removed from the “gestures” area of the settings menu. What I mean about “extremely buggy” it doesn’t do it every time, so let’s say if I swipe down on the sensor it will pop up the notification drawler about 2 minutes later.
But there's something really weird, look. If you type in the search settings bar, the opting is there. But when pressed, it kinda disappears!
Same thing is happening with the battery percentage. If you type "percentage" the option seems to be there. But press it and it's not.
You can see the caps proof below.
The main question still remains. Do you think the ones who updated with the Indonesia VPN will ever get a fix via OTA for this mess?

I probably explained myself poorly. On Pie, swipe to the right on the fingerprint sensor (it used to be swipe down on the Oreo)) Onhe first swipe, you get high level notification overview with one line of quick settings, on the second swipe, you get the details. Swipe to the left and the notification bar rolls up. Not sure why not included in the gesture settings but the functionality is just there.
I am not getting this. How did you enable it?

I did not. It was just on by default. Doesnt the gesture work for you?

It used to in the Oreo version. After updating to Pie through VPN it stopped working.
Just to be clear. You are swiping sideways, right? Oreo had swipe down, Pie has swipe left/right.
fortunately my fingureprint gesture is working but its working from left to right

For those of you that would like the fingerprint sensor as home button + other options, you should try this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ztc1997.fingerprint2sleep For me, works good so far.
Ty this is awesome now. Single press brings me home. Double expands toggles and swipe open notification panel. No need to reach to the top of the screen anymore.
Awesome, this works perfectly. A tap brings me home then I press it again to turn off the screen.
Some times it just stops working and this is very annoying for me =Z

I'm sorry that some of you have problems with the app I recommended. For me works good, but I have only the option as home enabled. Maybe some of the other options are causing problems. Uninstall and maybe do a restart if not fixed.

I also only had the home option enabled. Uninstalling helped, restarting (several times) did not... I don't actually miss it though, maybe because my times with Samsung and a physical home button are so long gone that I am not so much tempted to use the scanner for that function anyway...
For the app to work, I have to have fingerprint security enabled? And that requires an unlock configuration (pin, pattern)?
Works so good for me, would be great if we have a form of hide the navbar and only use the sensor.

The new Moto G5 has the option to hide the nav bar and replaces it with gestures over the sensor. I think it's likely that with a future soft update, we will benefit from it also :good:

Can you post a screen shot of your app settings? Or explain your settings so I can replicate? I got the home function to work but to unlock the device it always asks for the pin unlock code after using the fingerprint scanner.

It works to an extent for being an unreleased app, scrolling is kind of jumpy not very smooth
Great start but I'd like an option to use the stock notification swipes (two down for quick settings, one up to close) as well.

Tried LMT Launcher and Gravity Box with expanded desktop on... I get pie but the navbar won't go away whatever I do. Do I need a custom rom?
I use LMT and Gravity Box. Have no problems at all. Had 4.7.4, 4.7.5 and now 4.7.6.
Turn on navbar settings and turn off navbar- these two steps on Gravity Box. And do not forget to turn off navi panel in phone setings after that.
I don't have gravity box installed. Any other way to solve the problem. Right now I have the navbar auto hide, but I want deactivate it. Any advice. Thanks
if you have root, just install joneplus tools from the playstore and use the new quicktile to toggle the navbar

I don't know what "navi panel" is or how to turn it off. If you mean Hide the navigation bar in Buttons, I've already tried that and the navbar doesn't actually go away.
HideNav
- adb shell settings put system buttons_show_on_screen_navkeys 0
only no root option I have found so far
Yeah I hid it through adb shell. If you can't find it, I can go look for the commands somewhere
JOnePlus Tools is a pretty cool app I didn't know about. So now I can turn off the navbar completely, but pie won't trigger from the bottom without it. I was reading the LMT thread and it turns out there's an issue with the latest OxygenOS... guess I'll wait for a fix.
I disabled Nav bar using jOneplustools app via new quick settings option and use this app instead. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.suphi.swipenavigation&hl=en_GB
called: Swipe Navigation
Makes phone work similar bottom gesture wise to iphone x.
That looks fine but I like Pie too much.

I'm curious, does swipe navigation works straight away right after a reboot? When I used it I had to wait several seconds to see the toast (swipe navigation roots rights granted or something like that) and it seemed there was a little latency for each move. Now I'm using Xposed edge (require Xposed obviously) and it is functional right away
I use JOnePlusTools to disable the navbar and Unique Controls (plus the companion app) and I will never go back to LMT or any other pie nav. I admit, it doesn't take a few seconds to kick in, but it is extremely accurate and customizable. You may even be able to stop the delay by adding it as a system app and bumping up its place in the boot order.

I can't speak for everyone but personally for me it works straight away without any delay. From the moment I do a swipe up gesture the result is instant without any lag or delay at all.
Why the jOnePlusTools app is not working on my 5T?
I like Transparent Navbar.
In Custom ROM, try transparent overlay in Navigate Substratum theme.

For Beta 2 you may use "Hide Navigation Bar" module for magisk. Because gravitybox still not available for Android 8.0
I use it, when I moved from 4.7.6 to Beta 2. LMT works fine (all screen sides).
I've been working with the new update the last few days, and noticed some odd changes made by Samsung.
Most annoying is this huge gap between my toggles and brightness slider/notifications. I have disabled the media controls and have no background apps running.
I think they attempted to make notifications easier to access for one hand operation, but we need a way to change this! Or give me the option to add all of my toggles into the gap!

I think it's the place for "Device and Media buttons". Try to activate in "Quick panel layout". There's "Show device and media buttons above notification" option. Maybe on then off.
I don´t have that gap in my Note 10+. Just below the 6 icons I have the brightness slider. Weird.
No gap here either.

That usually happen when no factory format is made between hard UI changes.
The objects and placeholders stay there even though they are empty. Have you tried a factory reset after UI3 update?
That also happened on KITKAT to Marshmellow and was a usual issue when the update wasn't factory reset afterwards.
The UI would update and new elements were put in place but the old ones would still be there and originated large gaps or invisible toggles.

I'm confused also. That just looks like the aod. What's the problem here?
You mean that you have AOD off, and when you touch the screen you want to go directly to homescreen instead of the AOD, right?
The behavior on mine is exactly this one, I would like to have the AOD instead...
That "quick pickup" BUG has been really annoying me. It started with the december update -- did not exist before then. Glad to see a solution for it.

the bug is from nov, or maybe from beginning.
Is this about the phone screen constantly waking up whenever you touch the phone, regardless of whether you have disabled things like Always On Display and all the gestures like "Lift to wake phone"? If so, there's a fix you can use through ADB. I found this solution on reddit, and it's worked perfectly for me. No downsides.
Code:
adb shell settings put secure doze_quick_pickup_gesture 0
Found the solution from this reddit thread:

Yes, thanks, I did this, and when lift to check is set OFF, I have the ambient display when I lift up the phone, and this is OK for me. But if I enable Tap to check, the phone goes to homescreen, if I disable it the screen remains dark.
