We all know that our beloved realme 2 pro has a 16 mp rear shooter. However i have tested with multiple other camera apps and found that it is actually 20.1 mp omg. Developers should have a look at it. Its very strange that realme chose not to set 20.1 mp as the default resolution when it has such a good camera.

Don't rely on these type of apps. What resolution does-its the printable size in simple words, doesn't affect in picture quality. Its totally software level issue. You can build an app that can even produce a 64mp image in your 8/16mp cameraphone. See the product specification of Sony IMX398 sensor in their official page or wiki. Its capable to capture only 16.1 mp. So, don't trust any 3rd party app. Maybe there are some kind of bugs for which its creating this type of confusion.
Same case with CPU Identifier Pro
Haha apparently you're believing in the wrong app dude.
CPU-Z says that Realme 2 Pro has SD 636. Will you believe it? LUL ofc not(who knows? maybe an overclocked 636? )

Oh they've updated it? Good
Megapixels dont fuc**** matter. A 12 mp with proper soft optimization can do much better than a 48 mp camera
Need a night scape mode on realme 2 pro as soon as possible without unlocking bootloader

Yesterday I installed Google Camera app to my Moto G and It is working perfectly. What i like most is that it can simulate depth-of-field blur (i.e. bokeh).

Oppo Find 7
Is anyone able to port oppo find 7's camera APP to moto g? Would be really awesome if wie could take higher MP pictures (in theory) like the oppo find 7 does take 50 MP pictures with a 13 MP camera by taking 10 pictures, picking the 4 best of those and creating a higher MP picture of those.. This takes some time but would still be great if wie could take like 20 MP pictures with moto g.. Maybe someone could open a thread about this.. I could also do this but im new to xda and dont even know in which section it belongs.. Thanks in advance.

really interesting idea. maybe there will be a mod or a camera app that has this feature to make higher resolution photos by taking a few pictures and render them together.
I have decided to research the net a little about the M9 camera since I am fairly.. disappointed by the sensor. It was actually easier to find information on this than Sony's IMX240 and Samsungs ISOCELL so I couldn't do a good comparison with datasheets. One thing I did find, the Toshiba does this funky thing where it takes photos with interlaced exposures to maximize dynamic range. This in turn makes the photos look like an interlaced "video" in dark areas which are very gruesome. I tried editing a RAW photo in a dark setting and no matter what I did, it was horrible. But daylight photos are amazing! So that's a huge plus.
Sensor Name: Toshiba T4KA7
Anounced:August 27, 2014
Resolution: 5384(H)×3752(V)
BSI/FSI: BSI
Optical Size: 1/2.4 Inch
Pixel Size: 1.12 um
Data Formats: RAW(8 bit), RAW(10 bit), RAW(12 bit)
Frame Rate: 20MP (22 fps), 16MP (28 fps), 1080p (90 fps), 720p (150 fps), VGA 640x320 (240 fps)

So the darks will always be like that no matter the software ? I'm assuming since the interlacing happens at the hardware level?
Thats the way it looks like since all the information I found I was searching for the T4KA7. But it might be possible to program the register settings of the T4KA7 which might be able to turn off the interlaced option if Toshiba provides that option. But the downside of turning this off is, your dynamic range will fall (maybe up to a whole stop).

I had heard early on there were two sensors that have been used. Did you happen to come across that info too?

Two different sensors for the M9? That I did not see while searching. The only other references I found was that the T4kA7 was replacing the T4k46 which is also a 20MP sensor but with slightly larger pixels at 1.2um each vs 1.12um on the M9.
Can anyone confirm camera on M9 is 20mp or 20.7mp

Late reply but nonetheless: T4KA7 is 20.7 MP and T4K46 is 20.00 MP. Source
Interesting bit in that article: if shipments of T4KA7 started only on that day, March 5th 2015, that was incredibly close to release date of the M9. Super tight schedule. It would have me impressed about manufacturing logistics. Really.
Doogee has leaked the news about the other mid range smartphone, Doogee Y300 which is powered by Android 6.0 OS. It is powered by MTK6735 Quad core 64bit processor. It has 5inch in-cell screen , 2.5d back and front glass. As for the storage it has RAM 2GB ROM 32GB internal storage. Most importantly, it will be sold at $129.99, which is cheaper than other smartphones with this kind of performance. And as for dual camera, Doogee have also opted for an 8 mega-pixel Sony IMX219 rear camera and 5 mega-pixel OV front camera.
The phone can also accept micro SD cards, dual SIMs and is compatible with FDD LTE bands 800/1800/2100/2600.
Therefore, what will you like most about this Doogee Y300? Will you have a try?

So I just ordered it. Maybe I'll have it the end of next week. It's just a stop-gap till I get a different phone.
I'm curious about custom ROMs. The phone is so new, support looks thin now. I'd love to try MIUI or Cyanogenmod or something on it.
i've had mine for a week or so now. i really like it. it's beautiful, it feels great in my hands and it runs really nicely. i have not found a way to root it yet, though. i suspect it's just a matter of time.
For rooting, my TWRP is ready :

Here is the doogee y300 rom released officially. hope it will be helpful.
I've been searching everywhere, and still didn't find a site, that would tell me how to root it
Anyone tryied a working gcam port for A32 4G. Ultracam doesn´t work.
Don't search anymore: our phone will not support it until rooted. Camera2api is disabled.
Samsung, You are the worst.
Waiting for ROM.

It's true... disappointing that Samsung has decided to block that option... sad.
Regular GCam doesn't work, but GCam Go should work.
Some links from the A22 thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/a22-gcam.4342111/post-86114193
Sadly Camera Go's quality isn't as good as regular GCam, but might be better than Samsung's camera.
Test and leave feedback to help other users.
the GCam that worked for me is PenguinGCam v7.0-hotfix1
Does anyone knows if there is any app with a comparable "Night Sight"?
GCam Go is ok (much better than stock camera night mode), but the original GCam is definitely even better. I wonder if there is any other app with similar results for low light pictures.

Isn't Samsung fault actually (I don't know what to tell about if was their choice choose MTK SoC in first place), since A32 4G has a Mediatek SoC, you can't enable Camera2API in Mediatek processors and Gcam doesn't support Mediatek processors, mostly Snapdragon processors are the most compatible with Camera2Api and Gcam, even there are some methods for make it work but not all are functional. We talked the same for those we have A22 4G.

Just read above
I am looking for an all-rounder phone. But poco f3 camera isn't good enough. So i was thinking about buying mi 10 since it's price came down. Mi 10 has much better camera and i guess all the other aspects are comparable ( i don't care about wireless charging). I want to use my phone for at least 3 years. For this i need proper custom rom and gcam support. What do you guys think? Which phone should I go for?
poco f3 256 vs mi 10 pro 256
hi all I'm going mad about to chose between this 2 phones plz help me witch one is the best for me i need camera for video not pictures i need good gaming best touch respawns time i need custom roms to push it to limits witch one is the best for...
forum.xda-developers.com
For Custom ROMs and GCam, just look around in the XDA forum for the specific phones.
I think you already made your decision by "poco f3 camera isn't good enough".
For me it is still good enough, especially the macro gave me some really new aspects... Hey, it is a Smartphone, not Profi-DSLR.

But since I will install custom rom on mi 10, and stock camera app not available on custom roms, will there be a good gcam app for 108 mp camera? I have heard that in case of mi 10 stock camera works better than gcam. That's why i wanted to be sure about the compatibility of gcam with 108mp camera.

Better photo is subjective.
The camera module is objective.
If photo is that important to you, choose the phone with best camera.
GCam and MIUI camera are both software. Software can be adjusted and updated.
If GCam can use all the camera of the phone, it's compatible.
Better photo is subjective. Different opinions from person to person.
