Yesterday I installed Google Camera app to my Moto G and It is working perfectly. What i like most is that it can simulate depth-of-field blur (i.e. bokeh).
If you have installed it, please share your experience.

Oppo Find 7
Is anyone able to port oppo find 7's camera APP to moto g? Would be really awesome if wie could take higher MP pictures (in theory) like the oppo find 7 does take 50 MP pictures with a 13 MP camera by taking 10 pictures, picking the 4 best of those and creating a higher MP picture of those.. This takes some time but would still be great if wie could take like 20 MP pictures with moto g.. Maybe someone could open a thread about this.. I could also do this but im new to xda and dont even know in which section it belongs.. Thanks in advance.

really interesting idea. maybe there will be a mod or a camera app that has this feature to make higher resolution photos by taking a few pictures and render them together.

As I'm about to order it, I wonder if SO has it, or have used it, because I have some questions about the quality - is it blurred or blackened around the corners of the pictures, is the zoom adjustable, or 10x fixed. If anyone has sample photos I'll be thankful - with and without.
I don't know if it's OK to post the link to the shop, so just pictures. You know it anyway...

I think this is a stupid accesory. Better to spend the money in a camera..........
Yeah. I can buy a phone for 20$, a laptop, dslr, video camera and a watch. Why do i need a smartphone with a stupid accessory, as i can have a trailer loaded with things tbat do almost the same...

I've bought one, I'll post some photos during the week =)
i bought one for my X1 a couple of years ago... it was garbage from day one. very impractical. the lens wiggled on the plastic phone case and so the build quality is just what you expect.
your $20 is better spent on a real point-&-shoot camera if you want the zoom capability.
any progress here? Just curious

DealExtreme usually get their hands on new products first. So if no one has bought it from DX, no one else have it.
here are pics using the lens [=
i got it after waiting 7 weeks for it to arrive from DX to usa.
its very nice probably more for outdoors which i havent tried yet but here are pictures with and without so you can see how it zooms in at 10x. the only downside is that you cant control the zoom its 10x fixed.
i zoomed in on the picture with the mushroom [=
Not sure if this has been posted, but our Galaxy Nexus sits on the same pantheon as the acclaimed Leica M9, Canon 1dx, 5d3 and Nikon d800 cameras.

Strange since everyone complains about the camera.
I don't complain about the camera, bests my old Thunderbolt's 8MP shooter.

not me, im constantly trying to show people that its an awesome camera. people just dont know how to use it. they expect the camera to do all the work for them, but it only does what you tell it to do. plus its really important to keep that back lens cover smudge free.

As per the above poster, I also love the GNex camera. It takes some getting used to but it takes better pictures than pretty much any other camera on a phone I have ever seen.

Very nice pics. I personally don't have an opinion, my eyes are not the best, and I've never had a good eye for capturing photography myself. I just use the camera casually and it works fine for me. What I meant was the general consensus on the camera is that it is poor, that is what the websites and reviews and even users all complain about. It may just be a common misconception, but it's widely the accepted view, accurate or not.
Not better than my SGN. I am still pleased i didnt go for gnex and opted a note last year.

TIPA didn't evaluate image quality only, but the whole pack of good screen, zero-lag shutter, 1080p recording and some other goodies.
TIPA meeting was on 24th March 2012, so it's understandable why they choose Galaxy Nexus.
All I can say about the camera is, its the only camera that can take colour accurate images of my coral reef aquarium. I've tried several cameras and other phones and its way off. Mind you I've learned the best settings for that application is simply changing it to cloudy.

Hi guys,
Quick question about taking photos with the G3. I can't get an OK (let alone nice) photo of a concert with it. The performer always is overexposed, and I didn't find a way around it. At first I thought that it was just the best a small phone camera could do in these conditions (even a good one) but then my friend just beside me took the same picture just after me with an iphone 4S and the pic was better. You could actually see the performer's face and some other details on him, not just a white overexposed silhouette. Am I missing something here ?
Here's an example of a pic I took last night :

Try xcam

As most of the photo seems to be a black area, it tries bring out stuff from there, that is why it "overexposes" the image. Did you try HDR mode?
XCam is good camera app, which allows you control the ISO values, and those may help you in situations like this.
Yes I tried HDR mode, and the result was the same. I was surprised that the stock app didn't offer more options to deal with this type of photo setting. I will try X Cam, thanks for the suggestion. Does it take advantage of the IR autofocus ?

Yes, it does.
I've tried on various occasions to take some landscape panoramic photos and they always end up dipping in the middle. I know from the thread for photos by Pixel it can do very level panoramics but I can never get it to work. I line the dots up and stand still rotating my body to get the shots.
Is there a technique or am I missing something in the camera app I should set? Would appreciate any feedback that helps me improve the photos I take.

Care to share an example? Are you following the recommended way to take it by rotating your phone on the same axis and not your body? It's a little awkward but you can get some great results.

use a tri-pod. very rarely will they come out great when doing it by hand.
No tripod and came out fine. With practice and good technique it can happen more often than not.

I cannot upload a photo, keep getting a 500 error. Image the horizon as a line goes ------___------.
I do rotate my body, but from posts it looks like that may be the issue. Rotate the phone seems the advice. I'll have a go this weekend and see how it goes.
Thanks for the feedback people.
Working here, definitely rotate on phone axis, rotating around my body also causes imperfections

Thanks for the feedback, doing it properly (move hand, not body) has improved my panoramics and I'm getting consistently level horizons.
Next time I should read the "Tips" when displayed
We all know that our beloved realme 2 pro has a 16 mp rear shooter. However i have tested with multiple other camera apps and found that it is actually 20.1 mp omg. Developers should have a look at it. Its very strange that realme chose not to set 20.1 mp as the default resolution when it has such a good camera.

Don't rely on these type of apps. What resolution does-its the printable size in simple words, doesn't affect in picture quality. Its totally software level issue. You can build an app that can even produce a 64mp image in your 8/16mp cameraphone. See the product specification of Sony IMX398 sensor in their official page or wiki. Its capable to capture only 16.1 mp. So, don't trust any 3rd party app. Maybe there are some kind of bugs for which its creating this type of confusion.
Same case with CPU Identifier Pro
Haha apparently you're believing in the wrong app dude.
CPU-Z says that Realme 2 Pro has SD 636. Will you believe it? LUL ofc not(who knows? maybe an overclocked 636? )

Oh they've updated it? Good
Megapixels dont fuc**** matter. A 12 mp with proper soft optimization can do much better than a 48 mp camera
Need a night scape mode on realme 2 pro as soon as possible without unlocking bootloader
