I recently acquired a Lumia 900 which has some very strange stuff installed on it, Initially I was going to update using NCS as it was running 8779 but there is no info in sim-tray so I couldn't find The correct Firmware, It updated in Zune to 8862 but couldn't find qualcomm drivers and is now stuck on 2175.2101.8779.12201 but running OS 7.8.
All working fine so not a major problem but just curious as to the devices origin?
Anyway the stuff, In diagnostics ##634# there are a few different options like detailed battery info and wireless lan,
In the main menu QC BSP Services which has a reg editor, Boot loader config, Services Manager and MM Test Apps,
Also in main menu zCompass, zDebugMenu, zSensorView and zStart KITL.
Had a quick look through some of the stuff but at a total loss as to most of it, Seems as though this was some kind of Dev device as its IMEI number is totally weird and is not recognised by Nokia, and in Settings/About/More information it is listed now as OS version: 8862.WM7 Main_Ship (mojobld).20130221-1538.
Can anyone shed any light please?
Thanks in advance
Can you show screensots of about phone menu?
Managed to sideload a couple of Homebrews using bazaar but device is only Dev unlocked so could not use root tools etc but screenshot app works fine
All working fine as it should do but I have tried to update Firmware and even after name changing a few files it could not change mode etc, No firmware exists on Navifirm.
Ok so I kind of got my answer now and am happy for Mod to lock Sent from my Lumia 900 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App

Hmm, old thread, but...
I don't know anything about these devices, but I do know that those are very rare and useful development/debug tools to have. Is this menu available on all L900's or just yours? If not, then you should definitely try to make a full image backup of your device so other developers could use these tools... What's under the MM Test App menu?
I ended up installing a full unlocked ROM (funky ROM v2) as the bootloader was unlocked and it worked out really well, Passed on the phone now

Emui 10beta in Germany
Got it OTA this week on my Canadian ELE-L04. I had to reboot afterward because gesture navigation was glitched, but it's been working fine since then.

Mine is the ELE-L09, no idea what these model numbers mean yet though, coming from Samsung I have no knowledge of Huawei phones yet
Don't even know how to flash new firmware yet, or where to find it, seems a lot more complicated than using Odin on Samsung

If it came as an OTA update, there should be an icon in the notification area allowing you to install it now. Otherwise, you can launch Software Update from the apps drawer.

Thanks yea I already got it, I am the OP of this thread
Was just saying with my S9 there was one tool to download the firmware and one tool to flash it, just had to put the phone in download mode, from what I've read so far it doesn't seem to be that simple with the P30
For example some regions for the S9 would receive the update before others, but they were compatible with each other, so we could download that region and flash it until our own arrived, then flash back, with the P30 I'm reading things about editing config files and changing DNS and all sorts of weird stuff to just get the firmware in the first place, and flashing wipes the phone clean, where the S9 you could flash and not lose anything
Lots of reading to do

very good thread for that here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/tools/general/huawei-firmware-finder-team-mt-t3469146
the 3 different ways i have done it were 1) temporarily updating dns temporarily in my router and installing the download from erecovery
2) downloading the update file and installing it from my sdcard
3) downloading a hacked hisuite, adding dns to the host file for on my laptop, and then installing it through the hacked hisuite. this method seemed to be the easiest and most reliable, instructions in this post:

Thanks I`ll have a read through those threads, appreciate it :good:
EDIT - Bit stuck on this part
4. Open FF (any, I like the smartphone to register - less action)
Looking for a permitted Android 9 for your device on the principle: device_model-LGRP2
Don't really understand what they mean by that, just search for a firmware version for my model device? But how to register?

are you using the android app or the windows app?
if you are using the windows version open it, click on the "common base"near the top right, then you need to type your model type in (which you can find in your phones settings) mine is ELE-L29, click the search icon and you will see the firmware upgrades available for your model.
then right click the firmware you want to test (you always want to chose the FullOTA-MF
firmware options) and click check firmware access. if you get the result firmware is approved, click ok and then right click again on the firmware you just tested and chose copy.
then click the icon above named DNS update (the name of the icons show up when you put your mouse over it)
in the popup right click in the editable field and it paste, then right below it click register, once this is done the Team MT server will have registered your IP address and will know to send it the firmware that you just registered.
after you have done this you will be able to use either option 1 or 3 that i posted above
it may actually be easier to register on the phone but i found step 3 the easiest which you will need your pc for anyway. i left my phone in the car and cant remember the steps exactly enuf to try to explain them for the phone app
it doesn't matter how you register the firmware, via phone app or pc app, except that on the phone you will need to be using wifi to register your ip address

You won't be able to get around the CTS false flag now without completely removing Magisk. The requirements have changed recently.

Use the uninstall feature in the Magisk manager app and reboot. If it still fails the safety net pass, I think you need to lock your bootloader which is dicey. Might want to wait for someone else to confirm the steps as it's unique to your ROM version and may cause a hard brick, but typically flashing an unmodified MiFlash tool ROM and then locking the bootloader after should do it.

You can get around it by using the "MagiskHide Props Config" module and using it to change your devices fingerprint. At least on Android 10(Pixel Experience, CFW, Used Pixel 4 XL fingerprint)

Same here, that's why I thought locking was the only way. There was a thread about this somewhere, didn't think magisk hide worked anymore.
I'll try what @Sapphiress mentioned, thanks!
Edit: no dice, didn't work with the GSI option for finger print. Any suggestions on which fingerprint to use for Android 10 GSI Quack?

My bootloader is unlocked and I read elsewhere that that can cause the CTS flag to fail. I tried simulating a K20 fingerprint and all it did was disable my sim, lol.

also my phone is rooted but my bootloader is locked atm
Must only work on CFW then.
My bootloader is also unlocked.
My exact load out is:
CFW Pixel experience
CFW TWRP
CFW Zentisu kernel
I used the emulate device option in the props script and set it to Pixel 4 XL.
I can confirm that Netflix and Google Play works. At least on global with My setup.

Yes, I have a Redmi Note 8 Pro(Global)
Android 10 CFW (Pixel Experience)
CTS Profile and basicSec are True, I've already stated that GooglePay and Netflix both work.
No, I haven't, as I don't see a reason too. If it's to hide it from other people then this can be accomplished with a 3rd party launcher, otherwise I don't see the point.
All of these questions have been answered in my previous posts aside from renaming magisk.
Everything you need to know about CFW and flashing custom ROMS is available in the Redmi Note 8 Pro megatread I advise reading it in its entirety and reading the entire comment chain(i know it's a lot buts it's important) before attempting anything, and everything else I'm using is in the Development ROMS, KERNELS, Etc. Section.
I can't really comment links right now as I'm in using the labs app.

Hi everyone.
I've just bought this LDU device to a guy, and it seems to be fully functional (excepting some minor things, I can make phone calls and use 4g/5g data connection, etc).
Anyway, I'm a little bit scared that something stops working suddenly, mainly because of the patches that have been applied to make it work, specially for the IMEI (these devices originally don't have one, so it's "patched").
Another thing is that it comes with Android 10, and I'm not sure if I can install another ROM with Android 11 without breaking the patching that makes it work so far.
Anyone with experience with LDU devices could please share some information about it?
Thanks in advance!
Edit1: After some days of testing, I've found the following issue:
-Cannot update via OTA, CSC is WWA which I haven't found anywhere.
-Samsung apps like Pass and Secure Folder don't work, probably due to Admin mode (despite no root app is installed), or it may be related to the CSC too.
The rest keeps working fine so far.
This sounds like a stolen phone i'm afraid. Patching an IMEI is considered illegal.
Any device that has a cellular modem in it (for calls and data), MUST have an IMEI.
If the seller said it didn't have an IMEI, he's lying and you are potentially dealing with a stolen phone.
Thanks for your reply. I thought it was a stolen one at first also (although he told me it was part of a payment from the phone store he works on), but then he had the white box of the LDU devices, so I don't think you can get one of those easily.
Anyway, this device obviously came with a cellular modem because it's working, but I guess the IMEI was patched somehow after reading it in some forums, but not sure. In fact, if you have a way to confirm it, I would be more than happy yo test it and publish the results.

Hi I'm using a Note 20 ultra that was previously an LDU. It came on android 10 like yours, I've currently upgraded it to android 12 via odin and everything still works fine. LDU are fully functional phones put in a demonstration mode and void of imeis, aside that nothing wrong with them. You might wanna install a new battery tho since they're batteries are quite overused because they were Live demo units....

Hello sir, please help me to flash IMEI on my S21 live demo. Where can i find a tutorial for that?
ok so, i was using my phone normally yesterday, but out of nowhere, my SIM card stopped working and i couldn't use mobile internet/calls anymore. So i checked my settings and i saw my IMEI was marked as unknown, the same with baseband.
The A32 version:
Samsung Galaxy A32 4G SM-A325M (4gb ram) Brazil ZVV/ZTO
What i tried:
- Flashed the right files in odin (CSC, magisk patched AP, BL and CP)
- Tried using 3 different IMEI editors (imei changer free, imei changer pro and device emulator)
- Tried to download a program called Samsung Tool Pro by z3x, but every download was without the crack and the only one that worked was an old 2019 version
- Factory reseted before flashing those files
My phone was rooted working normally for 2 months, cuz i rooted it when samsung introduced ram plus on the november update
I just installed that chinese app WeChat from the samsung galaxy store, just to check it out.... but i dont think hes the cause
thanks for any help , and dont tell me to pay for software, if you can just send me the crack lol (not in xda... atleast not here in this thread)
Network reset and clear sim toolkit.
Try resetting the sim card*.
Replace sim card if that doesn't work.
Handle the new sim card like stick of ram.
ESD sensitive. Any static discharge can damage it. Failure may be immediately or could take days, weeks even years to manifest itself.
*the no imei bothers me, maybe it's more than a sim card failure. If so... a rootkit is a possibility or a mobo failure.

If so... a rootkit is a possibility or a mobo failure.

well, i reseted network again because i hard resetted and reflashed the rom. There's no sim card toolkit here, before resetting, there was an icon but it wouldnt work. I'll try another sim card from a working cellphone to see if it works, but probably won't due to unknown imei....
well, i'm sending it to Samsung...

Yeah Samsung will do that. They don't like rooted phones. I run stock Samsung's as they can run very well as such once optimized. So I'm be no means an expert on troubleshooting a rooted phone...
If you're rooted (or even if not) you need to be very careful with what 3rd apps you load.
Keep WeChat, FB, Instagram, WhatsApp, etc off the phone. If you can't log into them via the browser, don't use them.
Zero trust level for China software.
You may have inadvertently clicked a download link, been tricked into downloading or otherwise brought in a trojan or rootkit.
I would consider the phone to be infected until proven clean. Scrutinize your saved data carefully for malicious files if infected. Isolate it.
Found this. I don't know if that applies to newer Androids. Do some Google searches.

FB, Instagram, Twitter, WhatsApp, Tic-tok etc are malware. A playground of predators, disinformation and censorship. If I can't log onto and use a forum through the browser, I avoid it.
Loading social media apps is a security risk. Zero reasons for them to be running as an app.
I've seen malware bypass the security settings on the Samsung browser and download unauthorized. A trojan preloader (how cute) but I found and deleted it before it could get it's payload. Not sure how it did that and it hasn't happened again but I'm more careful how I excite bad sites now too. The Brave browser hasn't ever been breached as best as I can tell.
In your case a rootkit be the prime suspect if it's not a hardware failure. Maybe just a random hardware failure... and have nothing to do with what you were doing.

Which Android version are you using?
applesucksLmao said:
ok so, i was using my phone normally yesterday, but out of nowhere, my SIM card stopped working and i couldn't use mobile internet/calls anymore.

Forgive me, but 'out of nowhere' just doesn't happen. No third party app or even first party one could change your IMEI. The only way to have access to all partitions is to unlock bootloader and use custom recovery. In most situations, unless your persist partition is corrupted, you can restore your phone.
You must recreate the steps you took, which caused this problem and depending on what you did, you might be able to restore your original IMEI, but if your persist partition is screwed and you don't have its backup, your only option is to pay Samsung to restore your phone. Even if your have a 'cracked' Samsung flasher, you won't be able to restore persist partition, you can't use persist from another Samsung either.
Next time, the first thing after unlocking bootloader, should be backing up your persist partition.

Is the persist partition part of the /boot partition?
I'm curious...

No. It's a separate partition.

So normally if you were to flash a stock rom the persist partition would/should not be touched?
Is there a comprehensive guide to this that lists all the partitions and their function?

Persist partitions don't get touched by any flashing. There is no guide, and even even if you can list all partitions, that won't help you with persist. So, use MSM flasher, if it exists for your phone. If that doesn't fix the problem, you need to pay Samsung.
