https://www.xda-developers.com/huawei-p30-update-night-mode-front-camera/

im in the USA, i needed to get it via firmware finder, im guessing we would have been one of the last regions to get the update

Emui 10 beta
Emui 10beta in Germany

Got it OTA this week on my Canadian ELE-L04. I had to reboot afterward because gesture navigation was glitched, but it's been working fine since then.

Mine is the ELE-L09, no idea what these model numbers mean yet though, coming from Samsung I have no knowledge of Huawei phones yet
Don't even know how to flash new firmware yet, or where to find it, seems a lot more complicated than using Odin on Samsung

If it came as an OTA update, there should be an icon in the notification area allowing you to install it now. Otherwise, you can launch Software Update from the apps drawer.

Thanks yea I already got it, I am the OP of this thread
Was just saying with my S9 there was one tool to download the firmware and one tool to flash it, just had to put the phone in download mode, from what I've read so far it doesn't seem to be that simple with the P30
For example some regions for the S9 would receive the update before others, but they were compatible with each other, so we could download that region and flash it until our own arrived, then flash back, with the P30 I'm reading things about editing config files and changing DNS and all sorts of weird stuff to just get the firmware in the first place, and flashing wipes the phone clean, where the S9 you could flash and not lose anything
Lots of reading to do

very good thread for that here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/tools/general/huawei-firmware-finder-team-mt-t3469146
the 3 different ways i have done it were 1) temporarily updating dns temporarily in my router and installing the download from erecovery
2) downloading the update file and installing it from my sdcard
3) downloading a hacked hisuite, adding dns to the host file for on my laptop, and then installing it through the hacked hisuite. this method seemed to be the easiest and most reliable, instructions in this post:

Thanks I`ll have a read through those threads, appreciate it :good:
EDIT - Bit stuck on this part
4. Open FF (any, I like the smartphone to register - less action)
Looking for a permitted Android 9 for your device on the principle: device_model-LGRP2
Don't really understand what they mean by that, just search for a firmware version for my model device? But how to register?

are you using the android app or the windows app?
if you are using the windows version open it, click on the "common base"near the top right, then you need to type your model type in (which you can find in your phones settings) mine is ELE-L29, click the search icon and you will see the firmware upgrades available for your model.
then right click the firmware you want to test (you always want to chose the FullOTA-MF
firmware options) and click check firmware access. if you get the result firmware is approved, click ok and then right click again on the firmware you just tested and chose copy.
then click the icon above named DNS update (the name of the icons show up when you put your mouse over it)
in the popup right click in the editable field and it paste, then right below it click register, once this is done the Team MT server will have registered your IP address and will know to send it the firmware that you just registered.
after you have done this you will be able to use either option 1 or 3 that i posted above
it may actually be easier to register on the phone but i found step 3 the easiest which you will need your pc for anyway. i left my phone in the car and cant remember the steps exactly enuf to try to explain them for the phone app
it doesn't matter how you register the firmware, via phone app or pc app, except that on the phone you will need to be using wifi to register your ip address

Hello!. I have a P30 from Claro operator (I'm from Colombia) and I would like to know if you can flash to a global firmware without having to unlock the bootloader. The operator firmware bothers me a lot because it doesn't update often.

There is a roll-back ROM on firmware finder. As long as it shows your IMEI as approoved, it should install.
That's the nice clean way.
There is a dirty ( possibly dangerous way ) by using the nougat service ROM. That ROM is for bnd-L21, so not sure how an unlocked bootloader will handle it. It has worked on unlocked before.

You are not on 8.1, the app can work.
But I was only referencing the app for the guides linked inside.
You should be able to use it to flash b330. Which should work in DC

My bad I am on 8.0 to be specific bnd-l34 8.0.0.341(c567) and as much as I've tried I can not get it to work on the phone following along on the videos. They are using the app on emui 5.0 not 8.0. It doesn't work anymore on 8.0
All there videos revolve around emui 5.0 or lower. It stopped working with 8.0

Because the locked bootloader, you can only use the firmwares that are approoved.
Chances are , the only one that's approoved is the b330
And if not , then only option is the service-rom. Followed by dc-unlock, then the hwota and correct ROM
It has been done.
There should be confirmation back in the mate thread somewhere.

This post you made here sounds doable.
This service rom so far has been only thing we found that will load with three button method (dload)
But it is not a full rom to keep on device. It needs you to follow up with flashing fullOTA of your correct version after.
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid...83647474828964
1. Unzip download
2. copy the dload folder to root of sdcard
3. power on phone holding all three buttons
4. After phone finishes and reboots, unlock frp and bootloader, if needed
5. Use Huru or HWOTA to flash correct firmware for your model/ region.
Enlighten me what is huru or hwota? If I were to flash this does it boot up into android or is it non functional?

Yes, this should leave you able to boot. And with build level that should allow DC unlocked to give you the code.
Remember like I said before this is kind of a dirty way around and 'could' have issues unknown. Like what if DC does not give you a code, you would then be stuck . (Though you are stuck now)
Huru and hwota are very similar. They both use TWRP to give custom flashing control.
Hwota uses modified stock recovery to flash full ota files.
Huru repacks full ota files so that TWRP can flash them.
Since doth start with TWRP , bootloader unlock is needed.

Just spent most of the morning going back and forth with someone else with mate see, and they just did restored his device with the service ROM.
I do not now what he was restoring from, but he ended up with "unknown model" and default build number of 8.0.0.46
This is because of (probably) some data corrupt issue making the flash go bad. But he was able to run the ROM and unlock boooader.
Difference is he already had his unlock code.

Have you seen this guide?
It is for "official" hisuite roll-back
I have not rolled back so do not know it it works though.(I checked with my device, it shows no downgrade available)
I know the roll-back firmwarm listed on firmware finder was listed as "bond" and not "bnd". So this means not available "officially"

Linux on dex

Hi everyone, I've just downloaded linux on dex and it seems to work fine but does anyone know how to shut it down? Thanks!
Really? It doesn't launch at all for me. Says I need to update, and then shuts down.
Works kinda well for me. I can't type the "@" and can't shut down but everything else seems pretty decent. You need to update what? Maybe try redownloading and unzipping again. I've had problems unzipping with myfiles so I've used another app for that. It could be the unzipped file is corrupted?

What is weird is that our T-Mobile S4's have ARJ3 which is the latest available update on Sammobile for any Tab S4. But our firmware version has a U1 in it for the bootloader and the bootloader in ARJ3 for the rest of the Tab S4's is U2.
BTW I think the latest Verizon Firmware is ARI4 which would be a month before ARJ3.

Tab S4 Verzion Linux On Dex Issue
I am having the same issue with a tab s4 on verizon network. Linux On Dex complains about needing a software update, I sent an email to the email on file with the google play listing for this issue and will see if they reply.
IMO: It's kind of misleading for Samsung to say this works on a Tab S4 when clearly it does not work on all models. Seems people with carrier versions are getting the shaft.
May i ask what app you used to unzip? I am having the same problem with my files.
I've used es file explorer.... Then once unzipped I moved the folder into the proper location. Es file explorer would appear to be able to unzip it with no problem
Hello,
Folks who were able to get Linux on Dex to work, does it work on Tablet mode as well or do you need to attach the external keyboard? I am thinking about buying the Tab S4 if I can run Linux without the external monitor setup (with a bluetooth keyboard). Thanks for your help!
You just need dex, which you can enable even without a keyboard but if you wanna use Linux then yeah you need an external keyboard of some sort

I don't know, I kind of blame the carriers for this one. T-Mobiles handed off the relevant bits so the torch has been passed.

This will work in Dex Mode on the tablet itself. You do not need any accessories although a mouse and keyboard are recommended as it is a desktop OS. You can use the on screen keyboard and touch in DeX mode with Linux.
In Tablet mode only you can get to a command prompt. But be aware that that the command prompt will not allow sudo. I was hoping to do an update and could not from the tablet mode command prompt.
For those with Carrier versions (i.e. Verizon, T-Mobile):
I had to be on the October Security Patch and firmware version U2ARJ3 as the last 6 characters. Note the U2 for the bootloader version. T-Mobile's Tablet ships with U1ARJ3 and would not work. You will need to wait for the carrier to do the updates.
Hope this helps!
Same "update required" problem here, but my tablet is a WiFi version, not attached to a carrier. So I guess is more related on how awful the rollup of the updates is managed in general by Samsung, based on region specific requirements.

Why not update it yourself? You won't damage the phone or change your warranty status.
Download Newflasher and put it in the same folder as the firmware you download from Xperiafirm
Delete Userdataxxx.sin and files ending in .ta . This will ensure that you don't lose any personal data.
Then start newflasher.exe and follow instrctions.
You might need the Sony ADB drivers installed if you haven't used it before
Hm, I never did it like this - as such I am kind of afraid to do something manualy...
But how could this disapear? Wehre would I have to search? In the "Whats New" App it says "no update available"...

Only about half the countries have a Pie firmware released. Some have carrier branding and others are "custom". I'm not sure of other differences but yes, US lacks fingerprint, and I think you can download the correct network settings from any ROM.
I'm dealing with some problem after flashing Pie (apps and video pause randomly) that may or may not be ROM related... Still troubleshooting.

So if I was to use Xperifirm to download firmware which would be the best country to download from if I was in say, for instance, Canada. I'm assuming I wouldn't want US firmware because no fingerprint scanner?

I think you answered you own question. Any version other than US. Customised means exactly the oposite, they aren't branded and have no provider bloatware. If you don't mind a little bloat, or you know how remove it, UK builds like O2 are good and have VoLTE and Wificalling enabled, plus fingerprint unlock obviously

N975F Early Access Combination (Factory) and Retail Firmware Link

- The one labeled Factory is the Combination file; the other one is consumer/retail firmware
- As with other current devices, I'm assuming that "Odin 3.13 3b patched" will be needed in order to flash the stock firmware, and that the Combination file will fail to flash, until a method is found
- Once the device is released, retail firmware will be available via SamFirm and other sources, so I'm really only providing this now as early access, for anyone that wants to dig in and play around and see what they can find, etc
- I compress extra small for space and bandwidth savings. The default Windows extractor can't handle it, so you'll need a 3rd party tool like 7zip, WinRAR, etc
Happy flashing!

There's a working firmware released already.
Thanks for the Combination ROM.
Cheers.

Hi,
No, I tried a lot to install it but since Samsung S10 and above Samsung made a special security things to stop us installing the Combination ROM, I used all available methods like TWRP but the ROM never boot, but you can see my fix here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...nt/fixed-repair-imei-fix-deleted-efs-t4011433

[Fixed] Repair IMEI and fix deleted EFS folder for Note10+ N975F

Hi bros
First of all I am not a developer, the EFS folder of my Note10+ was deleted by mistake and I lost my IMEI numbers, after a lot of concern, researches and tests I fixed my Note10+ and I want to share my very hard and bad experience maybe someone will need it, so I will not be able to assist you or answer any technical questions and I am not responsible if your device is damaged, If my article violates the forum's terms and conditions, please admins accept my apologies, I want only to help people.
This guide ONLY to repair the ORIGINAL Samsung Note10+ N975F using the ORIGINAL IMEI NUMBERS, the tool not support changing the IMEI.
Your Note10+ must/will be rooted and you will lose your warranty and some Samsung services.
This is how I fixed my Note10+:
1- I found a repair tool which support N975F and will not need a box, the tool called ChimeraTool.
2- Bootloader must be unlocked which in my case was already because I lost the EFS folder while rooting the device.
3- Enable USB debugging from the developers options, from your PC open ChimeraTool and connect your Note10+.
4- Repair your IMEI from ChimeraTool ----> Repair -----> Repair and type your IMEI numbers. (here you will see your IMEI numbers in "About Phone" but you can't make calls, you need to install some certificates)
5- Root your Note10+ using this guide by @dr.ketan https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-10+/how-to/guide-how-to-root-note-10-t3960031
6- Go back to ChimeraTool ----> Repair -----> Patch certificates.
Enjoy
Please Note:
1- Read the root guide carefully, specially:
(Powering up normally) → (System with NO Magisk)
(OEM Recovery Key Combo) → (Splash screen) → (Release all buttons) → (System with Magisk)
(OEM Recovery Key Combo) → (Splash screen) → (Keep pressing volume up) → (Actual recovery)
2- The fix take from me 2 tries, first try and after I finished fixing the problem and started to install my apps to start using my Note10+, I restart the phone but it could't boot the system, but the second try, now I used the phone for 3 days and everything gos smooth like any normal Note10+
3- If you do a hard reset or install a new firmware using Odin you will lose the IMEI again lose the certificates so you will not able to make calls, but you will able to see IMEI numbers in the "About Phone"
3- You can do a factory reset without losing the IMEI or certificates but If you do a factory reset from settings, you must click volume up + power buttons as soon as the phone restarted to finish the factory reset. (it looks like the system can't enter the recovery automatically because of the root).
4- If you flash a rom using Odin you will lose the certificates and you will not able to make calls but you will able to see the IMEI numbers in "About Phone", you will need to repatch certificates using ChimeraTool.
Best Regards
Update 30.11.2019:
The phone still working perfectly, I unrooted my Note10+ by uninstalled Magisk from Magisk manager, Norton antivirus telling me No risks found in my system, the phone is not rooted and no untrusted certificates ...etc, in Software update the phone telling me I have the latest version (In similar case the Note 9 was telling me my phone has a custom ROM and can't get updates) so I hope I will get official update in the future for my Note 10+.

I could't understand you 100%, for me the fix cost me only 11.90€ (the 3 days start license), I never needed any other purchasing, I used Odin to flash the ROM and Magisk-Patch.tar, not need any other tools or purchasing.

Hi, I managed to resolve by flashing the latest firmware version downloaded from SAMMOBILE. From what I understand the problem is if you install a newer bootloader and then when I was inserting a custom ROM I did a downgrade. which caused the loss of my IMEI and the baseband version. I hope to be helpful. Greetings. I was about to pay Chimera Tool
I'm having trouble with writing my IMEI into a g970F .. Chimera goes to rewrite procedure gets to the current IMEI number write then get "repair IMEI failed" anyone else having similar issues .I'm new to Chimera and I'm sure it's something easy n obvious I'm missing ... Cheers all n stay safe
Is Chimera starter license 12€ still. Cannot find thaf option on chimera’s website. Can anyone please help ?
This Page have been helpful. Thanks to all people. One question i have is if you want to update firmware later once new version comes out, we can use magisk to patch the new firmware AP file and flash it via odin. Do we need to patch certificate again ?
