[Q] Dev unlocked 900? mojobld - Nokia Lumia 900

I recently acquired a Lumia 900 which has some very strange stuff installed on it, Initially I was going to update using NCS as it was running 8779 but there is no info in sim-tray so I couldn't find The correct Firmware, It updated in Zune to 8862 but couldn't find qualcomm drivers and is now stuck on 2175.2101.8779.12201 but running OS 7.8.
All working fine so not a major problem but just curious as to the devices origin?
Anyway the stuff, In diagnostics ##634# there are a few different options like detailed battery info and wireless lan,
In the main menu QC BSP Services which has a reg editor, Boot loader config, Services Manager and MM Test Apps,
Also in main menu zCompass, zDebugMenu, zSensorView and zStart KITL.
Had a quick look through some of the stuff but at a total loss as to most of it, Seems as though this was some kind of Dev device as its IMEI number is totally weird and is not recognised by Nokia, and in Settings/About/More information it is listed now as OS version: 8862.WM7 Main_Ship (mojobld).20130221-1538.
Can anyone shed any light please?
Thanks in advance

Can you show screensots of about phone menu?

Managed to sideload a couple of Homebrews using bazaar but device is only Dev unlocked so could not use root tools etc but screenshot app works fine
All working fine as it should do but I have tried to update Firmware and even after name changing a few files it could not change mode etc, No firmware exists on Navifirm.

Ok so I kind of got my answer now and am happy for Mod to lock Sent from my Lumia 900 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App

Hmm, old thread, but...
I don't know anything about these devices, but I do know that those are very rare and useful development/debug tools to have. Is this menu available on all L900's or just yours? If not, then you should definitely try to make a full image backup of your device so other developers could use these tools... What's under the MM Test App menu?

I ended up installing a full unlocked ROM (funky ROM v2) as the bootloader was unlocked and it worked out really well, Passed on the phone now

Beta Update for LG GW910 (Panther)?

Hello! I've read that LG Panther have an update which supports copy/paste, but zune writes me that my phone is up to date (my current build is 7003). I've tried to change a region and tried to sign in using different accounts, but that was hopeless... Any opinion?

I've heard the same thing, and as far as I know, it's not going out via Zune (I've not got it, or seen it on either a Taylor or a Panther). I think we'll just have to wait...
Same here. My zune and phone both don't detect updates.

The update isn't there yet, but I suspect it'll go there before anywhere else.
i've searched in google about this and understood that zune must flash this update, but it haven't caused. I think a special version of zune exists (not 4.7).

I very much doubt you'll find an update, and I'm even more sceptical that it'll be on Zune. 4.7 is the latest version I know of, there might be some linking to Live IDs, or maybe only some devices/LiveIDs get the update.
Hello All,
I just wanted to chime in and say that I also have a GW910 and it also claims to be 100% up-to-date on version 7.0.7003.0
I just wondered if you lot all think that we will even get the update in 2011 at all.
Also... do any of you know what will happen regarding firmware updates (radio etc)?
I ask because I have a problem here in Luxembourg where my phone loses connection to HTTPS sites after a while. It can still connect to the internet but to anything related to HTTPS (SSL etc).
I know that it isn't a fault with the phone itself (Hardware) because it only happens when I am travelling around and my phone has to change between 3G and Edge quite often. It I stay at home, there is no problem at all.
Comments anyone??

I think we probably will get an update, there's not much point having developer hardware if we're developing on software that's out of date.
Radio updates etc I'm less sure about, my Taylor says the radio is from August, though the OS is much more recent.
That sounds like an issue with the general OS, and it may be being patched anyway, I'd see if you can submit that as a bug (via Connect) or via the on device feedback mechanism (can't remember how to access it, but I remember it being there).
According to this thread http://forums.create.msdn.com/forums/t/77100.aspx, no dev phones will be updated.

You need NoDo in order to get Mango, so no. I still have my Panther, I'm just waiting on the next batch of hardware this fall so I can change over.
I found a copy of the ChevronWP7.Updater and was able to update my pre-release LG GW910 build 7004 to NoDo. After I did that I was able to install Mango beta 2.

Here is how I was able to get Mango installed on my pre-release developer phone (LG GW910).
NOTE: These directions are slightly modified to work as if you were starting from build 7004 (maybe 7003). After I the Chevron update I to install Mango beta 2 but received a 80180048 error. I used the backup that was created to get it back to the state just prior to the Mango update process.
The steps I took starting out with build 7004.
Run the ChevronWP7.Update twice to bring the phone up to build 7390 (NoDo)
Use the "Walshed" Phone support tool to put the device in a state where it can receive official updates - http://blog.walshie.me/walshed-phone-support-tool-official-fix-to-get-you-back-on-track
Be sure to follow the instructions and select ALL of the languages the keyboard supports.
Then following the Mango beta 2 installation instructions.
Mango beta 2 should install without any issues.
IMPORTANT: Uninstalling the Zune software will DELETE your backup. I created a RAR archive of the backup but kept it in the same folder and everything was wiped out.

Hello,
I have tried what you say, but sadly the ChevronWP7.unlocker doesn't seem to work.
I get the Black screen where is asks what language, and whatever I select the screen simply closes.
What OS did you use? Was it a 64bit OS or 32bit OS?
I want to try it again, but at the moment I am stuck.
Thanks
nebc100
P.S. would you be willing to send me a copy of the ChevronWP7.unlocker that you used?
If so PM me, and I will send you my e-mail address.

If you have tried it, disconnect your phone, reboot it, then connect it and wait for Windows to tell you the device has been correctly installed (if that hasn't happened yet). Then try ChevronWP7.Update again.
I used the 64-bit version. I'll find and post the link I used to download the app.

There seems to be a misunderstanding in your communication. It seems as if you had a Panther that already HAD 7004 loaded on to it, which allowed you to updated all the way to post-Nodo.
There is currently no way possible for the Chevron Updater to bring a 7003 Panther up to 7004. Useless Guy even opened up the source code and tried to force the program into update his device and it did not work.

Device still unlocked after NoDo Update

Hello everyone!
I thought I would stop by and say that I was able to keep my phone unlocked after the NoDo update.
All I did was to prevent the device from re-locking as seen here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10605588&postcount=1
Then I followed the simple steps here to update to NoDo: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12522565&postcount=1
And viola! You now have NoDo with the ability to side-load apps.
NOTE: This method only works for HTC Devices. Theoretically it should work for other devices as well if you are able to prevent them from re-locking as well.
Update: LG devices work as well. You just need to edit the registry.
It works on LG too. You only have to edit the registry before or after the update. MFG is not affected by NoDo, so you can unlock mamually at every time.
Just turn on Airplane Mode before updating and everything should be ok...
I pushes NoDo using the newest trick where cell data is off the whole time and my phone was still unlocked/debranded after the update finished.
Sent from my LG-C900 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
Still Unlocked this end on NoDo, All i did was the same, Enable blocking from Samsung tools XAP before updating. Can still deploy XAP's and run homebrew. Not tried REG editing yet.
Same, focus stayed unlocked

how do you sideload apps? All XAP deployers are not working

I updated my HTC HD7 T-Mobile using the newest trick and it still unlocked
is there a way to reverse the process?
hey,
I have an HD7 device and I've updated it to (nodo version) after it got relocked..
and now i can't unlock it .. so my question here is:
is there any way to reverse the update process ??
like flashing 7008 again to unlock it or something similar???
Yes there is, do a search in the HD7 forums quite a few posts there relating to this and they work.
another problem
OK.. IT'S DONE
now mine is 7008.
but i still have this problem
(sorry, i'm having trouble communicating with the phone
- please make sure it's connected using USB
- please start the zune application)
it appears before chevron opens and sometimes after it opens the main window (the window with the two check boxes)
-zune is on
-firewall authority is ok
-no https processes
- running chevron as admin
- developer tools, registry file and certificate are all installed
...
is it the time to give up?
Make sure Skype isn't running, or any other programs that use your ports.
Sent from my HTC Surround using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
thanx guys for the help..
unlocked it, prevented from locking again and updated it to 3790!!

Diagnostics tool for Xiaomi phones?

Hello.
Is there any official Xiaomi diagnostics tool for their phones, or any tools that I could use in android or via USB? I know about the one hidden in their settings but its not really impressive, just asks you if everything is okay. I would need a tool that could test the RAM and storage specifically, as I suspect the problems it has have to do with these two.
Thanks

Test Device with unlocked bootloader - now what?

Hi guys
I do have an unusual situation here. Got a Honor View 20 Test device (or presample) directly from a Honor guy. I'm really happy about it as the bootloader is already unlocked. Okay, I honestly don't know what's the plus about it as I can't find a TWRP for this one.
Anyway, my main issue is the installed test ROM:
It shows:
Model: VNA-L29
EMUI Version 8.1
Android Version 8.0
Internal Memory 32GB
RAM 4GB
Using DevCheck System Info App it shows the truth:
Android Version 9.0
Internal Memory 128GB
RAM 6GB
There are some testing apps on it which I can't uninstall. One of them locks the phone after some days if I'm logging in. I have to do a hard reset to make it work again.
Updating the ROM in Recovery doesn't work. Uninstalling the app doesn't work. I'm thinking about trying to update to an official ROM thru DLOAD or HiSuite but this would lock the bootloader I guess - if it's even possible. So if I would be able to install TWRP and an official ROM to use with TWRP I should be able to update it.
Any idea? Every help is appreciated! Thank you!
---------------------
Update: I took the risk and just flashed the actual ROM 238 from androidhost.ru thru DLOAD. Phone works like charm and device still has an unlocked bootloader.
Thanks!

Huawei/Honor devices cannot be unlocked. So there is no active community with CFW developements so there is no point whatsoever of going in to shady sites and trying to 'unlock' your device bootloader.
You can try to update with download method(as it is the only way) If you brick the phone just recycle it and be done with it. There is not many options.

Thanks for your feedback. As I wrote at the end of my first post I updated with the regular firmware. Everything works smooth and the bootloader is still unlocked.
I'll try this at the weekend with the manual I found on XDA. There are CFW for a lot of Honor and Huawei devices but the firmware is quite old so I'll not even try .

Maybe it's just fake

Why would you say that when it is clearly possible? My Honor View 20 is unlocked and has Magisk running on it. There are other people with an unlocked bootloader, just look at the "Root Guide" Thread.
The problem is getting the unlock code. As far as i know there are no trustworthy providers at the moment so please be carfeful!

Because there is no official way to unlock phones bootloader(you cannot get unlock code, at least officially) If you are willing to give your personal info in shady sites, that is your own risk and fault if your IMEI get's in to wrong hands....
So basicly im guessing there is 90% locked vs 10% unlocked Huawei/Honor phones in the world. :good: Congrats if you are 'geek' enough and went true the shady process to get in those 10%. BUT there is no active developements of CFW. Yes there is some but they are unstable...
Oh yeah and official security apps(like banking, to pay with nfc) for security reasons check phones bootloader and if it is rooted/unlocked then you cannot start them. I dont know if it is worth the trouble anymore to bang on your chest and root your android just because of ''freedom''....
Again, it IS possible, thats what i'm saying. Nothing more, nothing less. So if you say 'its is not possible to unlock bootloader' then thats just plain wrong. Everyone should be able to make an informed decision for themselves, we're not children anymore. I definitely agree that you shouldn't give your data to some shady site.
In addition, i'm not sure what unlocking and rooting yout phone has to do with 'banging on your chest'.
Although the advantages may be minor nowadays, they are still there. The banking apps (i'm using) work just fine. If you are used to rooting your phone then its hard to accept all the restrictions
Regards
Previously ive rooted all my androids aswell. But ive stopped on my last main device(4years ago) because when you have full official support, whats the point? The hustle of manually flashing weekly because of updates and bug fixes... Meehh. Its not 2010 anymore when it was 'cool' to have a rooted phone(thats why the chest expression. )
If the device is like 3years old and dosent have update support anymore from the manufacturer
then it is a different story. Then you can flash newer custom android version and play with the device more to extend phone pocket life.
Ehmm i guess it is in country's security law or something. Because here where i live none of the banking apps work if you have rooted phone, when you open it just sayes that security check failed and error code(that you have a rooted phone)
neither lot of cupon apps where there is your sensitive info. ???Even mcdonalds app dosent let to use cupons on my rooted phone.
I have older rooted android to play on in my spare time. ?
Think we're on the same page anyway, right?
Guess i am lucky that i have rooted phone with apps and updates working. Though, i have to mention this again, i'm not sure what that has to do with being cool. Ppl are not bragging about it (at least no one i know ever has), its just that i like to have as many customization options as possible. Coming from a Xiaomi device i felt pretty restricted at the beginning
Doesn't matter, have a nice day!

Question Reinstalling from "https://pixelrepair.withgoogle.com/"

Hi all. I would like to reinstall the firmware on my P6Pro, and though it's a UK unlocked, unbranded Vodafone model can I reinstall it with the EE firmware as it's the SIM I've used from day one?
My phone firmware is :
SQ1D. 220105.007
As far as I know, SQ1D.220105.007 is the only latest (January) firmware available for the Pixel 6 Pro. Correct me if I'm wrong, though. It's the only one listed at that official Google Pixel firmware webpage.
The above is correct, as is often the case they have consolidated all of it into one image in January.
Thanks people.
I have the Jan update.
Do you know why they even list selecting a carrier first?

Probably just a generic prompt for those devices or months that there are separate firmwares for different carriers.
Can't seem to get this feature to work.
When I go to "rescue" mode and connect phone, the repair doesn't seem to connect to phone and remains on loader page with phone showing "No Command"with the android bot on his back with a triangle above his open chest.
Retried it with different UK carriers and unlocked carrier.
Any thoughts?

You could try Official Google Android Flash Tool instead and see if that helps any better. I know Official Google Pixel Update and Software Repair is official, too - I'm not even clear on when the repair site will help that the flash site won't, since I've never used either. Lots of folks on here have used Official Google Android Flash Tool with great success, though. Let us know what happens.
Pixel repair tool hasn't been updated to support the 6/Pro yet - the only part of that website that works for either phone is the Fingerprint Calibration tool.
As above, install Google adb/fastboot drivers & then try to use the Android Flash Tool, that should work for you

this is the right answer. Also, for every other Pixel that supports this Pixel Repair website (Pixel 3+), it's actually really hit or miss if the phone ever gets recognized at all.
Considering how amazing the Android Flash Tool works - unfortunately it looks like pixelrepair isn't getting the attention it deserves - probably for reasons that we aren't aware of - but development time is probably one of them.
Hi guys, just to let you know, eventually managed to do a flash with the 'Flash.andriod.com' tool. 5 mins and all easily done.
Thanks for all the help though.
