Is anyone aware of or experiencing any problems with the android market?
I'm using a Stock UK Orange ROM. 25mb free internal space. Using Android market I can go through all the motions and tap install I get the message saying my item will be downloaded. The "downloading" bar appears and is animated, This happened last night. This morning the item had downloaded.
I thought that was the end of it but as I write this I've been waiting an hour for a clock widget to download.
Have also tried via appbrain but experience the same problem.
I can watch youtube videos and browse so I am online. Is there a hidden setting I might have misconfigured? or anyone else experiencing the same thing?

Since you have 25MB free, that is peculiar. Typically downloads get stuck in queue when space is low -- in which case you are getting a notification in the Notification Bar that you are "Getting Low on Empty Storage Space". In those cases remedy of course is to uninstall a few apps you rarely use. After you do that, the "Low on Storage Space" icon will clear, and the instant that it does, all of the downloads you had started -- but were all stuck in queue -- will now proceed -- instantly.
But in your case i don't know. Are you for certain NOT getting that icon notification? (just checking that's all)... Then this probably won't solve your case at all. THIS POST: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7663366&postcount=17
No worries.
The only thing in my notification bar is the icon for advanced task killer, and 1 Gmail notification.
I've uninstalled a couple more apps but that still hasn't forced a download. This has only happened in the past couple of days and it crossed my mind that google might have been tinkering, but i've read nothing of the sort.
Just been to the shop and back and in those 5 mins Tajam (the clock widget from my OP) has downloaded... I've just added a pinball game, but it hasn't downloaded...
Is it at all possible that an application has reserved space? As in I might have 25mb free but some app has reserved some of the free space on my handset?
Nobody else had this issue then?
Any thoughts on a solution? would a hard reset solve this?
Try to:
- start your google-talk-app
- use the menu-button to open the menu and sign-out!
- restart the google-talk-app
- use the menu-button to open the menu and sign-out!
usually, after the 2nd or third time you do that, the download-process begins...
edit: you should notice that the log-in-process of the google-talk-app takes some time, seeing the spinning wheel-symbol on the top-right... just ignore it, start the app, wait 5 seconds and sign-out, repeat...
Thanks for the reply but I dont have google talk installed.
I'm thinking a hard reset might be my only option but it's a pain, and now difficult to download any backup software.
Found this thread http://www.google.tm/support/forum/p/Android+Market/thread?tid=57b5e3efa7477b50&hl=en
Started by a google employee, subsequently locked. Seems to be a recurring problem
I've the same issue, cancel/abort the download and start it again fixes the issue
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Hey,
I suffered from the same issue...
I literally tried every in the book but to no avail!
Eventually I had to add a file manager into a rom in order to manually download the apps from the internet and then install them onto my desire!
This is a repeat issue with the Android OS. It does go away after a while... Give it a day or two and it'll just literally stop with the issues.
Good luck friend
I had this issue last week and tried every trick I could to get things working again, even a hard/factory reset didn't work. From reviewing the thread you quoted from the Google support forums I got the impression that it was a Google account problem of some sort so before doing a second factory reset I changed from @googlemail to @gmail and for whatever reason after the hard reset this has done the trick.
Yes, I am having the same problem too and only started couple days ago... I can't download anything at the moment
Still no market downloads
After the froyo update for me, there's still no way
to update or download apps from the market.
I tried all the options now known:
Gtalk
Cache clearing
Factory reset
Etc.
What to do next???
I checked a few places and this seems to be a common problem. One thread on the market forums was started by a google employee, 400+ replies later the thread was marked as answered (which it clearly wasnt) Now the forums are becoming littered with posts on this same problem.
I've managed to sort it out. Settings>apps>market>clear cache>force close market>soft reset seemed to force any pending downloads.
But that wasnt really a solution, so had to export contacts to gmail. Change my googlemail account to a gmail account (as prompted when you login to Gmail in the UK.... then I had to perform a hard reset and make my Gmail account the primary google account on my handset.
Very annoying, and I'm in disbelief that google are SO aware of this and dont seem to be offering any help.
But for the time being it's working again. The suggestion on the market help forums is that the UK market is having problems with @googlemail accounts.
Well i never had the googlemail adress and i'm not from the UK, so there's more to
it then only that specific problem....
Pls advice....
None of the great developers here has an idea what's happening here or maybe a solution to this issue????
Pls help out guys?
Guys please advice, i'm just a bit desperate with this issue.
Nothing seems te help and google stays as silent that i lost faith they are going
to fix this....
Does this mean my DESIRE became useless??!??!?!
It's a bit temperamental to be honest, I left it at 'Starting Download' and sometimes it would start after a few hours and another time after about a day. Never used to be like this before. Google need to seriously take a look at this problem.
Sadly my downloads all just end in "failed" within 5 secs....
Had Problems downloading for a month
Hi All,
I have had this problem for about a month now. Never starts to download for me except if I do a factory reset then it downloads some apps between 3 and 22 apps before it hangs again. The phone is a Samsung Galaxy s I9000. Unlocked. I tried different SIM cards from different carriers and removing the SD memory. I can download from different places on the web like Samsung or one of the web sites that have the apps just not the market.
Has anyone else been having this problem for that long?
Regards

Same here. I usually leave the downloads "hanging" around. After 10 min. to a few hours, the downloads start.
Same with "Chrome to phone". Both apps use the GTalk service to send commands to the phone. Google broke something.
I recently restored, locked, and went completely stock again to test out a few things and I have realized that the device no longer automatically sends my apps to the phone as it previously did. Is there a setting in the account im missing or anything I can do? Its a pain to have to go download all of them one by one
Yeah, i have this problem aswell.. Anybody knows what's up?

Mine did the same thing, good thing I had a full backup on titanium backup to speed the process up a little bit. I was just going between ROMs though.

You have to have "back up my account with Google services" checked when first setting up the rom....

Dude.. ya think that most people don't know that?
I have the same problem. Did a clean wipe and fresh flash today, and suddenly Google Play is not syncing my apps anymore. Does fine with the contacts and everything, just not Google Play. Note: this is on a Galaxy S2, not a Nexus, but I figured it would be good to know for everyone that this does not appear to be a Nexus issue, but a Play issue.
I've noticed it depends on what Rom you use. When I was on the more stock roms it always did it but now that I'm running aokp it doesn't.

same issue had backup on stock, didn't restore to AOKP
Im having the same issue now too.
wont push from the web
playstore in the phone works
also, chrome to phone wont work. I think its related.
has anyone changed their android ID?

My C2P stopped working too. I switched to Chrome2Mobile (I think is what it's called) extention on my desktop, it works again and that ext lets me send links to my iPad too.
i only ever remember this working with gingerbread on my ns4g. from ics on, the restore feature has only been good for wallpaper and wifi passwords
I found a potential fix
I want to preface this by saying I wasn't having the same problem as you all are having when I log back into my google account after flashing my apps start downloading. My issue is that after it started I ended up in area without service(subway) and then half of my apps failed. I didn't feel like clicking each and re downloading them. The only thing I could think of was signing out of my google account which supposedly wipes your info and then signing back in to restart the sync and it worked for me so try it out and let me know if it works for you all. If it does please Thank this is only like my 2nd post here.

Thanks for the idea, seems like it had some potential.
I tried signing out of my google account, then signing back in... and it still didn't help get the auto restore going.
Any other ideas?

Hello everyone,
Since the beggining of this week, I'm experiencing a weird and suspicious event.
My wifi icon shows up like if I was downloading something 24/7 (please see the attached picture)
Seems like some app keeps using my wifi to send/receive data (could be a trojan ?).
I want to know your thoughts about this knowing that I rebooted both my phone and rooter several times already.
Thanks.
Hey dude,
That's normal. Most times bloatware is running as a back process on the phone. It also depends which apps you've got. Like news apps or if your Facebook or Twitter is active. Don't worry about it, I would say.

If you are worried about Trojans do a search on Play for one of the free security software. A good one will scan and show you suspicious apps you need to evaluate and possibly remove. Good luck
Best way to find out is root and use Android Firewall. It is free and useful. You can block and just check logs to see what is sending traffic.. and where.
Thanks for the answers guys
It does look like some heavy working app because It takes ages before a normal website loads.
@Beowulf_pt : that's exactly what I'm looking for, cheers !
You really need to look at what you have runing in the background and decide if you want all of it turned on. There is a lot of things that are on by default that you may not need like auto updates for apps. They will be checking to see if there is an update and use your bandwidth even if there is no update available.

It could be google instant upload / picasa (check your Google Account sync settings) or Dropbox Camera Upload (check dropbox app settings).if you have those enabled that could be the cause. I'd guess they're the most likely culprits in this case.
Hello guys,
I recently bought an LG G3 D855 32GB.
I have several problems with the facebook application.
When i try to check in to a place through the facebook application the app crashes and i think that the system framework restarts too.
Facebook opens up again and puts me to the home screen.I ve tried several facebook versions and it does the same with all of them.
Whats going on?Anyone has any idea?
Thanks in adv.

no i dont think its because of that.i see that the SUI restarts somehow. It might be because of the incompatibility of the facebook application to the screen resolution of the G3??i really dont have a clue about whats going on.ive read several posts about chromecast crashes on several forums.
Any ideas?
I have the same problem when in ART mode. Revert back to default mode fix the issue.

Took me 3 days.... But I'm ready to release a guide.
Overall 3 minute process just need to do everything properly
This is as title states.. to FORCE chat heads back onto your phone!
If your like me you must be dreading the new bubbles feature .. missing messages, not bubbling all the time, not closing when in the app... Just overall crap!
And they have blocked older apps from sending pictures.... but I've come up with a strange fix!!!
First and foremost, if you close the app or restart your phone you WILL have to repeat this process... Simply because messenger auto updates.... But I rarely restart my phone.. and it's worth having the working chat heads back!!!
To start: go into play store and unclick auto updates for messenger
Then delete it
Then go download the app called island, set it up and get it running
Go fine the messenger app from sep to Oct of 2019 Version 234.xxx or newer by a few releases.
Install this app onto your phone
Open app and verify CHAT HEADS is still in settings and NOT bubbles!!!
Go into Island!
Click MAINLAND and scroll down to messenger
Click messenger and on the bottom right click the 2 box's with a + on it
Now it's installed in your phone a second time under workprofile.
Go into app drawer and click the second play store(with the little icon on bottom right that's the app from the island app) search messenger and DISABLE AUTO UPDATES!!!!
(If it auto updates before you did this you will need to go into Island click island at the top beside mainland, and uninstall it, then recopy it over and reset it up.
Then
In your app drawer you will see a second messenger with a little icon on the bottom right, that's the new one, open and set it up.
Again VERIFY it has CHAT HEADS in settings, this time click it and go into the app settings with the first thing it highlights (system preferences or whatever the left option is that isn't under work)
Once it loads the Android settings to allow display over other apps click work at the top and scroll down to the messenger and allow
You now have working bubbles but can't send pics yet!
To fix that problem, update the messenger app from within the play store (WITHOUT THE BOTTOM RIGHT LITTLE ICON) it will update the app installed on your phone, it will **** your app installed in island down and do some weird semi update...
Then you open the island messenger app(with icon on bottom right) to verify it it still has chat heads I'm settings if it does you are good to send pictures now with working chat heads.(if it went to bubbles the initial restart uninstall messenger from island side inside the island app, then restart the process(happened to me a few times in my testing)
This is what I'm calling an ""in-between"" 2 restart app update. As the next shutdown you'll be dealing with bubbles ...
The few quirks:
cannot close messenger or restart phone or you will need to repeat(it's about 2 minutes flat after a restart to reset it up) (slight fix aside from never restarting to begin with is I locked the work messenger app in recents window and it doesn't close anymore!)
You can't read the mainland data(aka can't send screenshots in the app inside island that chat heads works because it can't read mainland data (but there's a way to set this up I believe in settings I just can't get adb to connect) so no pics or anything from mainland apps
(My get by for this above issue is to use the updated messenger on the mainland side to send anything pic/screenshot/video wise((or move camera apps and gallery over to island and have ability to see everything done with the island side of camera apps inside the chat heads messenger)))
There is I believe a few ways to allow them to read each other I just haven't fully sug into that yet
Video recording is for some reason cut to 15 seconds with the app in island for some reason after the force update.
Sorry for this being mad long but it's not that bad it works and really only takes 2 minutes, and if wanted I can make a 3 minute screen record of the whole process.... I just couldn't take the bubbles anymore
You can't restart your phone or close the app because after you updated the mainland app(phone side messenger app) it updated the app in island as well. That's why it closes on you when updating. You get one opening of the app """in-between""" the update being applied all the way. It sometimes sticks on the first restart but just restart the process!
This goes to show it's not a security issue, or a broken feature issue, this is Facebook doing what the want as always.
Day 2 no issues
Would like to point out it's random with the video recording, you might get 15 seconds you might get 20... Idk what's up with that but it works.
And it also gets rid of the stories bubble that was always to the far left( was always an annoyance for me )
Wanna throw an update up,
I clear my cache for all apps daily... But today she got pretty laggy so I just redid my process to get chat heads back.
All still well on this truck, but seems like the app might need a restart a week in I guess.
For me this is still worth dealing with bubbles but I wanted everyone to know what they walk into ✔
Next time it gets laggy il clear data see if that works without it fixing bubbles and repost maybe il get lucky and just a data clear will work
I hate bubbles... They are so broken
Last update.
All is well I do have to reinstall the app now and then due to it getting laggy(usually a few days in or whatever)
But otherwise has been much better to deal with then bubbles.
Clearing storage makes it update so that's a no go
So I basically reinstall it once a week or so and I'm set.
Phone's been good about staying on days at a time still solid 7 hours of screen on time with screen at Qhd 120hz 510 dpi wifi on 24/7 Bluetooth on 24/7 atnt connected and verizon connected. Streaming music and watching videos for 5 to 6 of the 7 hours alive. I'm a heavy heavy user and I'm happy finally

Me too man drives me ****ing nuts.
I do this process 2 to 3 times a week due to messenger auto updating in the background now but I'll never stop. Someone has to know how to crack this app and shut bubbles down.
They are forcing bubbles not Android. And I've had it with this crap
Last update tho, it seems to have started auto updating in the background which is okay because it's usually every few days keeps the app fresh and running smooth.
I do my process about 2 to 3 times a week but I will continue until someone figured out how to crack into this damn app and fix this for us
Someone's gotta be able to
Still going strong no issues
I have turned off bubbles in settings and it seems to stop the force updating.
Also now and then it seems to update all the way on the initial install of the main phone app I usually have the wife spam me until it's installed and that usually stoped the second app from fully updating
And last thing I use the main messenger app without chat heads to send screenshots only. With notifications off and batter optimization on.
All has been smooth and I plan to continue to do this
Bro i think i found a way .. 2 days now no bubbles
first uninstall Messenger and reboot phone
2nd. Install Messenger Build 240 .. and enable chat heads and stop auto update
3rd. Install Messenger Build 285.0.0.17.119 .. Done .. do not update it ..
now chat heads working + sending photos .. stable
EDIT :
it updated it self also :'( .. we need someone make a mod and modify APK

Use my method. I get a week without any issues I have to reinstall about once a week but I can feel with that over the trash bubbles.
If you guys want I can post a screen record of my process being done in about a minute flat. This seems to be the only way
Yes please record it

Sorry it took me so long to see your post brother but here it is if you follorlw the guide or this you will be fine.
The quality will get better when they finish processing it
I found out the hard way do not search a message with the chat heads messenger and then try to send them media. That does an instant update in the spot.
Like screenshots if your searching for a message (in the list of recent messages NOT within a single chat)
Make sure to use the second app for that
i found another way
i cloned Messenger v240 via LuckyPatcher to use it as Chat Heads
and installed Stock version via Playstore too for sending media via it
Coming back with an update and a perm fix.
This was not found by me so I can't take credit but I need to share the much more some way
New step by step guide:
Install messenger from play store
Go to appcloner.app and download the app cloner
After install open and click on messenger on the first screen then click dev options all the way down on the new screen, then go to Android version and type in 10
Confirm, let it clone and install and your set.
Delete play store copy and have fully functional chat heads on 11 no issues can restart phone and it's all working hope you all enjoy
I just couldn't deal with the bubbles

What worked for me with this issue was enabling skip native libraries in cloning options. Plus, I cleared all data of the play store messenger app before cloning. My cloned app didn't start before but with these changes it's working perfectly so far.
Has anyone tried this module?
