[Q] How to unbrick without hboot and recovery? - HTC Butterfly 3

My device is HTV31, it was bricked and cannot enter the download mode and recovery mode.
The RUU method is not working and I tried fastboot flash (e.g. recovery) but after flashing it cannot enter recovery mode.
In cmd I cannot see or change the cid and mid.
Just want to unbrick and reflash to stock.:crying::crying:

Unbelievable Result Fastboot Getvar

My HTC One M9 was ATT. The phone is bootloader unlocked and S-OFF. It has been flashed to International version, M9_3.35.401.12 with Full Wipe ZIP. Viper rom. No problems. I was thinking of looking at Nougat and I understand the the CID and MID have to be the AT&T version and not the 11111111 that I have. It's not hard to change. BUT, when I ran:
D:\ADBdrivers>fastboot getvar all
(bootloader) version:0.5
(bootloader) variant:MTP eMMC
(bootloader) secure:yes
(bootloader) version-baseband:
(bootloader) version-bootloader:
(bootloader) max-download-size: 0x20000000
(bootloader) partition-type:cache:ext4
(bootloader) partition-size:cache: 0x14000000
(bootloader) partition-type:userdata:ext4
(bootloader) partition-size:userdata: 0x5e0000000
(bootloader) partition-type:system:ext4
(bootloader) partition-size:system: 0x118000000
(bootloader) serialno:HT53MYXXXX
What is all that about? The phone was serviced by HTC and the motherboard was replaced. What do I have here? Can I flash anything or everything?
The M9 (and every newer HTC phone) is(/are) a bit different than previous HTC models. You need to boot it to download mode and not to the bootloader if you want to get a fastboot getvar output.

any help please
Please read the ReadMe thread. You'll find out that error 90 is completely normal if you use HTC_fastboot and that the SuperCID is everything else than recommended on this phone.
I personally prefer the SD card method for flashing RUUs. Even if the phone tries to boot the system you can still manually boot to download mode and it will continue flashing the RUU.

Hi,
Have you tried factory resetting the phone and then try for download or recovery mode?

HTC m9 problems

Hi!
I have some problems with my HTC M9.
When i switch it on its in a bootloop. I can get into bootloader where it says that its "Official" "Unlocked" and "S-off".
When i try to go into recovery or download mode a "failed to boot to download mode/recovery" appears.
So is there a way to fix this via bootloader/fastboot since i can't get into DM or recovery?
Thank you!
Edit:
Minimal ADB and Fastboot>fastboot getvar all
(bootloader) version:0.5
(bootloader) variant:MTP eMMC
(bootloader) secure:yes
(bootloader) version-baseband:
(bootloader) version-bootloader:
(bootloader) max-download-size: 0x20000000
(bootloader) partition-type:cache:ext4
(bootloader) partition-size:cache: 0x14000000
(bootloader) partition-type:userdata:ext4
(bootloader) partition-size:userdata: 0x5e0000000
(bootloader) partition-type:system:ext4
(bootloader) partition-size:system: 0x118000000
(bootloader) serialno:xxxxx
So via fastboot boot i was able to boot into recovery/download mode

Phone will only boot to bootloader menu

Last year, I used the useful instructions on this site to successfully upgrade my HTC One M9 from 2.10.206.180 android v5
to
3.35.206.13 ( 0PJAIMG_HIMA_UHL_M60_SENSE70_MR_O2_UK_3.35.206.13_Radio_01.01_U11440792_93.00.51117G_F_release_464855_signed)
and it has worked very well since.
Yesterday, the phone failed and I can only boot as far as the bootloader menu.
I can't go to download mode, or to recovery mode or boot the OS - the phone continuously loops around the HTC logo.
I can't see the phone via ADB from my laptop.
I can see the phone via Fastboot.
Is there anything I can do to? Any way to reset the phone, even to factory default?
Phone is unlocked, but S-ON (so I can't flash)
Output from Fastboot is:
$ sudo fastboot devices
FA54HYJ03775 fastboot
$ sudo fastboot getvar all
(bootloader) version:0.5
(bootloader) ramdump-mode:false
(bootloader) variant:MTP eMMC
(bootloader) secure:yes
(bootloader) version-baseband:
(bootloader) version-bootloader:
(bootloader) max-download-size: 0x20000000
(bootloader) partition-type:cache:ext4
(bootloader) partition-size:cache: 0x14000000
(bootloader) partition-type:userdata:ext4
(bootloader) partition-size:userdata: 0x5e0000000

I have a smartphone with htc m9, s-off and unlocked, it reboots cyclically and red text comes out, adb sees but does not enter recovery, download mode and reboots again what to do?
