I edited the OP and added MST (magnetic secure transmission) to allow us to pay at credit card terminals that don't have NFC
I love this phone, it is as perfect for me as the Nexus 6 was at that time. That said, I would be happy to have the following:
- Regular SD, not nano
- Better waterproofing (just in case)
- Wireless charging

AGREE 110% with all the above and adding my 2 cents:
- Replaceable battery (NOT sealed in) and a battery life span of at least 5 years.
- After 5 years when a new battery is needed....make sure the PART is available. Not having a replacement battery is useless.
- Battery that lasts 20+ hours of straight usage (Yes, it can be done with current tech)
- just a reminder to keep the headphone jack
- QHD screen / 120 Hz or greater refresh rate
- Cost under USD $800
- All the cool colors that we in the US can't get but that you offer abroad: Twilight, Lilac Silver, Emerald Green, etc.
- Option to UNINSTALL any program we choose, including the Google programs that we don't use and are taking up space.
- OTA updates that are VERY current, not just current in PRC.
- A brightness / nits level for the screen that is breath taking in it ability to read in BRIGHT sunlight.
- A phone that has no increase in running temperature even under heavy use.
- Dual SIM where the 2nd SIM slot is NOT shared with expandable memory, but rather a separate expanded memory slot... JUST like the 2016 Samsung A9 Pro.
- Even louder and clearer audio / speakerphone (I drive a noisy car...can't hear GPS directions)
- Voice and speakerphone clarity that is SO CLEAR, so far beyond the competitors that it becomes the topic of every forum.
- Ditto for its tremendous ability to receive a voice or data signal from a far away cell tower.
- WiFi calling that connects 100% no matter the country nor the carrier (assuming it is available)
- Let user have the ability to switch 5G on....or off to save power.
- Keep polishing dual frequency GPS so we have true 30 cm discrimination on our location.
- Ability to run 2 or MORE instances of ANY subscription program (Whatsapp, Facebook, Viber, LINE, Skype, etc)
- To spell out the LTE bands in case Huawei might be listening....these are the needed LTE bands JUST like what Apple offers:

Excellent! But you forgot foldable screen to make 11" screen, detachable drone unit and cappuccino maker.
The current Mate 20 X model already has a built-in cappuccino maker. You just have to know the secret code to enable it. And no… I’m not gonna tell you the secret code!
I do have a 8/256 gb version .. Why you wish to have this in the future if is already available?
I would say
Camera shutton button like on Honor note 10
IP68
QuadHD screen
gamer design like on Asus ROG
Wireless charging with 30w
(Feedback for Huawei) (Rant)
I switched back to the 3 key navigation, because the gestures are crap. Sometimes I have to swipe 10 times before it registers as back button. Super frustrating and time consuming. I need my phone to be more responsive. Please make the back button more responsive in future updates or releases. I really like the gestures, otherwise.

Using a case with a raised lip that protects the screen? This could be hindering you. Love the gestures
Additional features:
- Fast Boot up and shut down times (e.g. 3 seconds for either)
- Ability to 'stop charging' the battery at user select-able levels. For example, stop charging at 50%, or 80% in case you want to extend battery lifespan OR leave the unit plugged into a charger (but not charging unless level hits 50% or lower) during long GPS use trips without toasting the battery..

Hi there
Firstly.. No, this is not a typical noobie thread asking for the best custom ROM out there, as I know it's related to personal preference. My problem is that I have a download limit, so I can not test out every ROM I'd like to.
A solution to this problem would be if you guys could recommend a few of the fastest ROMs for me, in your experiences (I'm not so interested in eye candy, more usability.. and most importantly I want it AS SMOOOOOTH AS POSSIBLE, I love smoooothness ) After a few ROMs are recommended I'll have a better picture of what to check out and what to download and I won't be wasting toomuch of my download limit.
Thanks in advance
Why do you have a download limit? What is your limit?
I live in South Africa where not everyone has unlimited internet.. My download limit is 5gb a month (but thats for my whole family...) , but I'm pretty close to blowing it :-/

I think you should start a new thread (search first) entitled "Fastest Custom ROM?" That will get a discussion started, and people who are interested in the subject will see the title and post their opinions.
I'll try that.. I wanted to avoid that though, 'cause I didn't want this to be those typical "What is the best custom ROM?" threads, and recieve the typical reply of "There is no best custom ROM"

Just sort the forum by the ROM w/ the most posts or views. If you go with those they will most likely be the most tested, have more user support/solution, and they have gone through a couple different versions.

Yes, but the specific question is which is the FASTEST ROM.
I tried a couple roms and decided I hated 6.5, so I cannot say for sure...but I can point you in a direction to check threads...
Energy, Cell, Josh, and DeepShining have all had very positive responses, and speed is something commonly mentioned among the pluses.
I hope this helps. Perhaps reading those particular threads can help you decide before wasting bandwidth.

In other words it is literally impossible to tell. The fastest ROM will be a today screen or titanium with no mods, it really boils down to what you want your phone to do though. I personally like eye candy and stability, you can see what I've chosen below for those. Don't get me wrong, it is still pretty fast, just not as fast as a bone stock ROM would be. I'd be willing to download, burn, and send a DVD full of ROMs, let me know.

Sorry for taking so long to reply, I've reached my download limit lol.. I'm posting this from my phone's internet.
WOW! That DVD would be TRULY awesome, and I'd REALLY REALLY appreciate it. How can we go about doing this kind sir?
I have tested out LOADS of ROMs.
But I always go back to one in particular,
Touch X "SENSE 2.0B X-TREME"
Now unfortunately this ROM has been dis-continued.
But 2.0 is still available for download:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=575747
For speed its great. If I have no today plugin running when i soft reset, there's only 36% memory usage.
Manilla reaps the memory a bit, having around 50% memory usage after soft reset.
Which is why I use other today plugins like 'iphone today' and 'throttlelauncher'
Over all its the the best (in my personal opinion mind)
And its not littered with unnecessary apps

Hi all,
Had to pick up a Desire eye without having done much research (my Sony Z3 died while travelling).
My Desire eye was bought from Taipei airport, and is marked as a M910x. It lists the lte bands supported as 700, 900 and 1800.
Based on GSMarena and other sources, it seems to suggest more support than what the box does.
So does anyone know with certainty whether:
1. My specific phone only has those 3 bands (strange)
2. Region specific branding, but has more bands.

For what its worth, over the weekend I was in Manila, Philippines, and connected to Smart LTE, which, based on my previous experience, should mainly be 2100mhz LTE, and my phone appeared to connect just fine. So it appears it may have more band support than the box suggests.
For anyone who may be following this thread, the Taiwanese page for the HTC desire eye reports the same bands as GSMarena:
4G LTE:
FDD - band 1( 2100MHz) , band 3 (1800MHz) , band 7 (2600 MHz), band 8 (900MHz), band 28 (700MHz)頻段
TDD - band 38 (2600 MHz),band 39(1900MHz), band 40 (2300 MHz),band 41(2600MHz) 頻段
Not sure why its listed differently on the box.
I decided to call HTC's Taiwanese customer service hotline this afternoon.
It took the girl a few minutes to get the details, but her official response is that the bands listed on their official website is correct, and that the box is only stating the LTE bands that the Taiwanese networks will be launching shortly. i.e. domestic market labelling

But as you all know electronics is sometimes about being lucky or not ., so i will see that in the enar future and let you know .

So am I screwed because the HTC One M9 Developer edition does not support bands 0 and 1 that Verizon uses?

The Developer Edition is a GSM / AT&T / T-mobile / International device
Verizon is a CDMA carrier / Same as Sprint. If you did get the DE to work on a CDMA carrier it would be very limited in it's abilities.
Right. I was confused because I tried to do due diligence before I ordered and was told by HTC that it would work on Verizon. But after further research, obviously not. Bummer
Well if I get the Verizon version I'll have locked bootloader. Will the M8 developer edition work on CDMA?

Yup, I had HTC tell me me the same thing about it working on Sprint. They don't have any clue what they are talking about. You need the Verizon one.
i wonder if the UK version has full att lte support since the usa preorder didnt have gold and i hated having a silver back with black front. what were they thinking? the taiwan version gold has only 4g according to ebay.
Yes, want the gold/white face as well. My A9 is that color scheme, really like it. No longer like that black face on a phone...guess I've become a partial iPhone fanboi..haha
Anyway, the chipset should be the same. Once you S-Off the phone/unlock the bootloader, might work just fine, even out of the box. But once the ROMs/Development start coming, surely all versions/universal will be supported.
I'm just not familiar enough with the UK phone version compared to the US...is it unlocked like the US version?
If so, should work.
HTC still hasn't replied to my email about when/if we will get a Gold/White option to buy????

Also, should note that I got a response from HTC finally regarding different colors:
Thanks for getting in touch with the HTC Online Store Support Team.
I am glad to know about expectations with our product, that actually is awesome, but unfortunately we are not able to confirm if on US we will have that specifications on the HTC ONE 10 , we will need to wait that the phone becomes available to order , then we will have the official models, and you will be able to confirm if that model becomes available also on US .
Blah blah...
Bothersome to me that they have 4 different models in the UK, Topaz/White, Silver/White and the other two in the US carbon/silver/black.
And that is there reply?
Hope they make the topaz/silver with white.
I have ordered my HTC10 in gold. Have my M7 for 3 years now. Time for a change.
I want to buy one of these Note 5 models but their naming system is confusing: does anybody knows which one of those 3 (three) Mi Note 5 is the one with the specs bellow. The seller told me that this is Note 5 but considering the CPU this phone is Redmi Note 5 PRO for India. And here's a comparison which, one more, confuses me.
Thanks!

It is called Redmi Note 5 Pro in India only.
In China it was launched as Redmi Note 5 AI or Redmi Note 5 China.
Globally it is called Redmi Note 5 and is same as the one launched in China.
The only difference between indian and chinese variant is the camera.
