thanks
Just install it from Huawei App Store
Played arround 30 min and no problems here on Global model EVR-L29.

Fails for me as well China version. No error message and it doesn't actually crash which means it's coded to do it.
I've been trying to wrestle with this problem exclusively for the last couple of days.
I think our common experience is we all can get past the loading screen. The progress bar does not fill at all, and the app crashes immediately.
By default, the Huawei App Gallery's location is set to China. When I decided, finally, to log in my device the location switched to my country (Philippines). I decided to give ML another go and for the first time, the progress bar filled to about 75% before crashing again. Progress?
Meanwhile, I've been bombarding the support team via e-mail and FB with feedback from this experience.
The struggle continues... Hoping for a solution soon.

Why should it show up in play store? Maybe the screen dpi or something needs to get updates in the app to show up. If you installed it from the source I send, you should be able to use it. No need to update

I can't be bothered to keep manually checking if a new version comes out etc so was hoping perhaps installing apk would force it to show in the play store. Plus I still can't get rid of the HTC people app.
DPI seemed fine to me so not sure why it's not there.

I'm right there with you. I'm currently on Android O Beta 2 of the Pixel. When I was on Beta 1 I couldn't update my Google App so I rolled back to Android 7.1.2 and updated everything then proceeded to rejoin the beta. I've even done a factory reset while using O and still no keyboard option. If you ask the Assistant "can I just type" she even replies saying to just press the keyboard icon. I've submitted feedback to Google but I probably won't hear anything back. Today I decided to try again after installing the new beta. I uninstalled all updates and cleared cache. Still nothing.
So much for the conversational Google Assistant..
I'm in exactly the same boat. My wife and I both have a Pixel with Google App & Gboard up to date (mine was beta) with the phone's language set to English US and the keyboard the same.
She has the keyboard option, I do not
I've been on the chat with Google Support a number of times, but still no help. I did have the keyboard for a few days when I made another of my account as primary, but it then disappeared randomly overnight.
It's very frustrating as I would use it a lot more especially when the kids are asleep.

I now heard that it is a server side phased roll out with Gmail id as a criteria(not device dependent). When I relate this with your notes, I feel it is correct. The only option is to wait it out.
I think that's the case, however Google support isn't much help on the issue.
Did you end up getting the keyboard? If so, what did you have to do?

I have Google app, Play Services and Gboard all on beta versions, I have Nougat, I have all of the other features, but the keyboard (which is what I wanted the most) He says if I leave beta and try his app, it might work, but I tried and nothing happened, and I don't want to leave beta.
I tried beta and I'm not off all betas to see if it makes a difference, nothing on my side...
Hello, y'all, I have just now received the Keyboard option along with history. It's been like 7h I got it and it wasn't here when I woke up, it's 20h20 where I am.

I'm pretty sure it is because you are located in Russia. I'm surprised GA works at all. You may try resetting app defaults (settings>>apps¬ifications>>all apps>>3dot menu>>reset app preferences), checking your version number against the latest version. Mine is v7.17.28.21.

I'll try resetting but I had it on my previous phones Nexus 6 and note 5. All my phones were from US but I always needed to set up my phone on VPN to activate Google now because it always said that GN isn't available in my country. Now the message is different. It points on my account.
I have Google home and reminders work there perfectly.

One other question regarding the chinese version. I guess the one I bought off aliexpress has already been set up for play store but it looks like there are a lot of features missing. Like when I'm setting up the phone there isn't an option to restore most things like apps and other stuff from my old android (Samsung S6). Looks like only my contacts were restored. So I guess my question is, is there something I'm missing or is this only since this is the chinese version? If the latter is true, can I change the firmware and everything will be alright? I've read somewhere that you can change the firmware by paying a third party (not sure how much or if it even worth it).

Chinese or global version.
I just got my V20 two days ago and so far I am pleasently surprised. However I ordered the chinese version since it was much cheaper for me. Apart from a minor issue copying everything of my previous phone most things are working as they should. There are a few programs like "find my phone" that apparently don't work in my region(Europe). So here is my question, does anyone know if I'm missing out a lot of options/capabilities? I'm just wondering if it would be worth it to rebrand the phone to the global version. Also can someone that has the global version check if the Icelandic language is an option as the system language on the phone? It's not on the chinese one.
Thanks

Except Google services most of the major features are same on both variants.
If you want to rebrand I suggest you to wait for few days as some one will find a free method instead of paying methods.

For some reason the clone option wasn't available but after I found the original app from Huawei and after install it is now showing as an option as well under settings/system. Everything is working now thanks :good:
Anyone know what the random text around my lock screen clock is? Just got the V20 yesterday, and their official support forums in English are dead
There also seem to be far less options available in the phone settings than there should be (I'm not using simple mode) anyone know how to restore all the settings, or am I just being a tit?
I purchased the Huawei Mate XS back in August 2020 thinking it would be easy to install GAPPS but after trying for so long back then I gave up until giving it another go last week and I can now say this is the best phone I've owned so far!
Thanks to bender_007 for making Googlefier! This app will literally install the GAPPS for you as long as you follow the prompts and instructions within the Googlefier app.
My phone came with EMUI 10.0.1.151 but after trying so many solutions, it always ended up being unsuccessful. I downgraded the software down to 10.0.1.138 using hisuite and from there had all my google stuff working within 10 minutes. Only downside I have is google pay is not working unfortunately but it's better than no google apps at all.

Thanks for the video. I just have a couple of questions which I was hoping you could answer.
1. How is the battery life after installing Google Services? I read that it drains the battery quite a bit and Huawei's Battery Optimizer shows an alert that Google services is draining the battery.
2. Are you able to upgrade to EMUI 11 after installing Google services?
3. Does Chromecast work reliably after installing Google services?

Hi guys, I've been really considering purchasing this phone, It's an absolute masterpiece. Although the fact that it doesn't support Google Services is a bummer. I am a Google user all the way from Gmail, GDrive, GHome, and AndroidTV at home to where I usually cast my screen and/or photos and other content.
Does Casting through Google Photos work with this workaround you've found?
