from past couple of days i am having a weird issue, i have changed 3 smartphones in last few days naming Honor 8, Redmi note 5 pro, Oppo F7 and now currently having mi a2. The issue i am facing is common among all phones, i see LCD uneven backlight or sometimes yellowish tint only at bottom , i never experience this issue before but its like when u see it u cant unsee. Now on Mi A2 if i look at top corners i see the right corner more darker than the left its very very little to notice but same goes for it if u see u cant unsee it, its been only 15 days since i am using this phone but due to that problem i am going to sale it ,Obviously i am not in loss because phone is new and a person is willing to buy it at same price, but the thing bothers me is that its happening to me on other sets, please care to explain how to resolve this issue may be to move on AMOLED or what but trust me this half different shade thing on LCD really really bothers me because i have a reading habit so white backgrounds are enemy . any suggestion or explanation would be welcome

I just got my GN2 today and I noticed pretty fast that there's a constant faint black line that runs across the width of the screen and has one dead pixel on it.
I know I probably cannot fix this without sending the phone away to get repaid. I emailed in to get this seen to. But has anyone had this problem before, and possibly found a solution/cause for it? This is quite annoying, considering it's such an expensive phone.
I don't have any dead pixels and my screen is excelent, but I have this exact same issue that I had with the Note 1. While I'm on my bed about to sleep (what I mean is.. you can only see this when on a dark room, almost pitch black) and I have a grey background I can see black lines on the screen, on my Note 1 they looked like stains, like little drops and on my Note 2 they are lines , 2 on the left corners (bottom and top). They never bottered me because you can't see them under normal use and they don't even seem to affect the screen in any way, but when I found my Note 2 had it too, I don't know, felt a bit dissapointed since it is such a great -and expensive- piece of work. I don't care about it but I though I was the only one. Clearly I'm not. But like I said it doesn't affect my screen in any possible way and you can't see it 99& of the time so I don't care =)

Yeah I seen a lot of people complaining about that on the original Note. The line doesn't cause any screen issues, it just really irritates me because now that I've seen it, I can't unsee it. That, and a dead pixel is just poor show! Once I return this I'm going to buy the UK LTE version, if possible. The UK LTE situation is terrible right now, though.
I finally replaced my screen, but after two weeks the screen some kind of "glare" round the edges of it, I always loved dark themes, this is very noticeable, it happened in my past redmi 3 a day out of the box, so I definitely think is a Xiaomi issue, I'll post pictures of what I'm talking about

Hi! This is kind of light leak (or something like that)
Have you ever contacted who changed your screen?
Maybe with another screen you can solve the issue.
What is your screen vendor? "tianma" or "shenchao"? (check it out dialing *#*#6484#*#* in software version, tp version)
Well, last time I checked it was tianma (with MIUI and stock panel) the dealer told me that the screen was original part. But I think I will not complain, I noticed yesterday that if I use the screen for a long time, it goes slowly disappearing until screen looks perfectly fine, pretty weird tho
Mine is the same too , tianma panel . So dissapointed with xiaomi build quality
I think first thing to do after getting RN5 is to switch colour temperature to cold in setting and use it like that for as long as possible. I did that for first few weeks then switched back to standard mode and so far no ghosting or image retention problem (I'm using my whyred since 18th of May). Tianma panel as well
Sent from my whyred using XDA Labs
I am planing to buy the mate 20, the regular one, and was wondering if it has any issues like the pro version. I read that it doesnt have the green hue around the screen, but it does have some white bleed (usually at the bottom of the screen). If you own one please report if you have or dont have any screen issues. Thanks.
well it has the lower edge bleeding symptom but it is very mild and not noticeable like pocophone .. i remind you this is normal with ips panels .. it needs a pixel peeping eye to notice the bleeding
anything else you want to ask about ?!
Mine has light breed at the bottom, left, and, right (more at the bottom). I can see it quite obviously when on grey/ brown backgound but it doesnt bother me much.

My mate 20 bottom have yellowish. Means its normal? It can be clearly seen when using white background and 100% brightness. If auto mode, sometimes can see the difference ???

i noticed that too but it is not noticable at all and considered a very minor issue that do not require you sending the phone back
ppl must appreciate something here quality control is becoming not acceptable those days when it comes to display screens .. all amoled screens exhibit an obvious color tint when looking at the phone or just angling it .. so think before you send it back .. you might get a worse phone .. you might not find another phone model with a better screen
i noticed the bleeding lower edge but it is better than most phones .. i noticed the all over yellowish tint of screen when colors set to normal but when i changed it to vivid cool whites are good and acceptable .. the lower yellowish tint is there also but it is minimal and considered a normal variance when dealing with screens .. the screen has a tendency to oversaturate red color and when you put phone into landscape videos contrast and colors increased abnormally but there may be a software fix for that soon
so you must know what are you dealing with and what to expect
also the mobile overheats when playing pubg on max for more than 15 minutes but i think thats quite normal when you pack the strongest processer and battery of that size in one phone
Thank God I don't have it.
The phone otherwise has a wonderful battery, easily last 7 hours sot during 19 to 24 hours charging cycle, very fast and stable l, camera is really good buttttt.... Emui is still crippled and stupid !!! For example comparing it to one UI beta I have on my note 9, HUGE DIFFERENCE in user experience animation and usefull features
I have a Mate 20 since one month and no problem with the mobile, the screen or anything else.
Actually it's normal for all IPS Panels and believe me you'll never notice anything not unless you will look for it. It's visible only in certain angles.
No problems here, anything good
I received my replacement device today only to boot it up and find what looks like dead pixels around the selfie camera. Take a look and let me know what you think. The saga of the oneplus 8 pro and crap displays continues....
That most certainly looks like dead pixels to me. I've seen a couple other people with the same issue around the selfie camera and one who had a black rectangle on the bottom right of the display. Turning on DC dimming fixed the black rectangle issue but ultimately it looks faulty and will have to go back a second time
I've been lucky to get one with a decent display but my camera suffers crippling lens flaring if there's a light source to the side of the phone. I think these phones were rushed out the door a tad too quick!
I agree seems like quality control in their manufacturing process is seriously lacking. It's so disappointing because the 7 pro was such a great device. 3 strikes and your out for me so I hope they get it right the 3rd time

Middle looks like a pixel stuck on one color and the cutout is something I’ve seen happen before like a group of damaged pixels around the hole.
Same Issue With My Friend Phone
He just recently bought a brand new 8 and received the same exact issue in the phone hope he gets the replacement asap
Btw did u get the new replacement without any issue?
I had to replace my OnePlus 8 through Assurant and got a device exactly like that, just told them I received a broken unit and they sent me a good one after I sent them the one with dead pixels back.
Luckily I don't have dead pixels on my device, it's about 4 months old now, but I do have some rather over the top wierdness with image retention. like, on this site in dark mode with the grey background I can usually see some wierd yellowish lines in the middle of the screen and whe i've been using for example TWRP for a while for some backup stuff or whatever and reboot on a white background I can see the TWRP text faintly.
It does go away over time but it's very wierd and I'm afraid I'm going to get really bad burn in or permanent image retention over time.
My old note 9 with amoled never had this issue at all. Not even once in 2 years...
I have now had my phone for a little less than 3 days, and I've been happy with the speed it' blazingly much faster than my OnePlus 7T pro. It seems that I forgot my most important task when I buy a new phone: Test the screen quality on grey backgrounds.
One the 2nd day I noticed a faint white bar going through the middle of the screen while using spotify, so this morning I tested my trusty grey backgrounds, and one of them in particular had a nice/shocking result. One the left we see my OP7T with perfect color rendition, on the right the S20 FE that shows a brownish mess with lines going all over the place. I'm sorry for the bad quality cause this was taken on an aging Nokia 7 Plus and I couldn't make the picture sharp no matter what, but it gets the point across.
I did my research. I watched all tech youtubers of note reviews/comment on this phone and I thought since this phone is largely based off of the Galaxy A51 I thought they had the production figured out. But nope.
3 years ago this wouldn't have been as much of a problem, but since I use dark mode all over the place now, I just see these lines all the time, and once you see, you cannot unsee.
Multitouch issue. I have tested another one but same problem. Finally flagship with Snapdragon for EU. But sorry the phone is not complete.
omg it's not a problem you can disenable that line .
I use dark mode and low brightness settings indoors, I've not encountered this banding. I know that if you video the screen on low brightness you can see the screen pulsing but that's not a use case I'm going to deal with.
