Does anyone know where to download a locking app like this?

Hi guys,
whilst browsing youtube, i found this cool unlock app:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=InCdRJwZDyg&feature=related
its made by some TAT mobile UI people and looks really cool, like most of the other things they have made.
is there any way to download this or is there a similar app already available? Is there a way to download any of these apps shown? because they all look pretty sick
thanks
well according to their blog site these are all concept prototypes.nothing has ever been released from them.cant find anything else about all their apps on youtube

Thats what i read, but seeing as they appeared to have a fully working version of it, why did they not choose to release it? i know i'd pay...
so there's no chance of getting any of this stuff then?
IT'S FAKE!!! prerecorded videos.
look here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_T8xGp6xLsY&feature=related
on screen battery is full and on the phone it's not
but it's a good idea to make traffic to their website
wow nice things!!prototype ok bud possible in the future???
do you have seen de 3D Eyetracking UI???just amazing if it was possible
LOOK @ THIS:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7SImOIMcMlk
about the 3d eye tracking stuff, surely it simply takes a 3d interface which uses any feedback from the gsensor to rotate the view, much like the diamond hologram app.
im not so sure its a fake though. the way the camera blows out when it switches on seems pretty realistic to me and then again, these are only prototypes/concepts. Perhaps they decided to film the videos actually running on phones to stop people thinking that. if you look at an older video by them, you can see its being run on an emulator which could be more easily faked.
Some of the lock apps look fairly genuine, just iphone like apps. The others perhaps not.
The Astonishing Tribe (TAT) is a Swedish company founded in February 2002 by Mikael Persson (now Tellhed), Ludvig Linge, Paul Blomdahl, Karl-Anders Johansson, Per Gustafsson, and Hampus Jakobsson. TAT started out as a hobby project and for the first year the company worked with TV commercials, post production for film (eg. Mannen som Log), animation (eg. Swedish National Program Värsta Språket), consultancy services within image compression for embedded systems, and interactive art.
During the second year the founders started to employ people and focused the company on mobile user interfaces, especially licensing technology for rendering and structuring of the user interface. As of August 2008 over 160 employees work for TAT at the offices in Sweden, South Korea and the United States. TAT works with some of the biggest mobile brands (Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Orange, Motorola being some of the more known official customers).
Some of the founding members have a history from the demo group Yodel. This group made a contribution to The Party 1996 called The Astonishing Tribe.

It seems plausible at first glance.

Does the diamond have multi touch? last time i checked it didnt!
^ doesnt even look like his thumb touches the screen to me. the gesture could just for effect.
Wthe companies apparent background in animation and interactive art it's possible they are just videos. However there can't be much money in purely producing concept videos, the company surely must have more substance. The lock apps seem possible at least.
i suppose if the touch hd detects the centre point as the cursor when doing multi touch, it could be possiblew but how would it know which way it was rotating??

[REQ] New AOSP or HTC style camera app

Hello xda,
I've condensed this thread down a bit...
Point being despite HTC's minor improvements in the camera app since it's release, many Evo owners on here including myself find that the stock camera quality leaves much to be desired.
Some small steps have been made on the dev side of things to improve audio etc, but there is bad compression, bad stabilization, bad audio quality when recording loud environments, and horrible quality in low light.
Im not getting on a soap box, the Evo simply doesn't compete with it's droid brethren for the most part.
Depending on what is involved, I started this thread seeking either a new app built from the ground up, or some serious software improvements made to the Sense cam.
I'm sure there are many technical problems to overcome to make this a reality, but hopefully with the talent that is xda, the Evo can one day take decent pictures without needing perfect light, and 10 minutes to focus the thing.
Here are some ideas towards improvement:
1) First and foremost, a clean UI, being on an Evo, HTC style would be nice with the charcoal black, and reflections, but then Transparent/translucent would be even nicer. I don't want an iClone, but their UI is simple and easy to use, and IMO aesthetically pleasing, CM6 on the other hand looks outdated as does HTC's silly menu access, and zoom bar.
2) Good Codecs... I'm sure things get tricky here. Do we have to use open source codecs, and drivers? Are there limitations here that laypersons like myself don't understand? Are there royalties involved, and why did HTC/Android use the codecs that we currently use... The audio codec used now is from NES era, and bumping up the khz just may not be enough. CM team is already proving there are workarounds for this.
3) I hate Qik, and I hate Fring. Each app contains good things that the other doesn't, and I don't want to compromise. Neither should you. There should be a better app, and that app should be integrated into the Camera app. If I'm taking a video of something, or if I decide I want to video chat with someone while my Camera app is open, it would be nice to make one click on the camera UI, and have it bring up a call function. Full screen image, with thumbnail for front camera, NO walkie talkie button to talk. Again, think clean and simple.
4) Swipe to zoom, and Touch to Focus (TTF). This should be the standard, for both video and camera. And while I'm using the video recorder, I'd like to be able to do both if possible. Not have to zoom, then hit record. That's crazy.
5) Some kind of image stabilization. Whether I'm taking videos or pictures, it looks like a crackhead with Parkinsons shot it. I do suffer from the shakes a little but for c'mon, I've seen better image stabilization on Walmart cameras.
6)Integrate a more user friendly Gallery, like 3d gallery.
The gallery from HTC looks like it was ported from my other failure of a phone, the Instinct. If the developer is savvy, they could sell some kind of photoshop, or video edit add-on to give us creative control, and focus the main app on usability and quality. Save the editing stuff for later.
7)Add volume button control to take pics/vids. Having physical control on such a large phone is definitely handy. No pun intended.
8)Ability to shoot raw, (or close to uncompressed) pics in addition to better compression as a whole. The sensor supports raw, and people would love to have this.
9)While I haven't used it personally, a lot of people seem to want panoramic ability, and seem to love it.
10)HDR capability
11)Control over the flash intensity. A major problem is that the flash is super bright during dark shots... This usually results in washed out useless pics unless taken at distance. We know we can control the flash steps using the flashlight, so a way to step it down is needed.
This is the idea list.
It seems people will pay between $10-$20 for a good functioning camera app, that we don't have to install a different rom to utilize. I don't expect perfection, the phone's only been out a few months, and Android a few years, but come on, the source code has been available for a couple months now.
We have the hardware to do this, and camera apps like Vignette, Camera 360, and others are just simple overlays with edit functions, not true dedicated hardcoding, that alters the way the computer perceives the color and light entering the aperture.
Thanks everyone for entertaining my rant. Let the bumps begin!
I would gladly pay $4.99 (In Rubles) for a good functioning camera app

That's like $.17
Well, I'm definitely glad somebody else has finally brought this topic back to light; as far as I know there have been "some" gains but not as much as it could be. I recommend starting a bounty to show devs we're serious about getting this out off the ground.

Summary: My phone isn't a Canon 7D with video conferencing like in the show 24 or a gallery app like Microsoft Surface. Fix it and I'll pay seventeen cents...EVERYONE JOIN ME.
*sigh*
PS: You could always take up programming and do this yourself, you know.
Cyanogen said on twitter recently he its working on the camera ui a bit. He knows the menu system is a mess.
Fixing the ui graphically (theme) would be easy, doesn't require much serious programing chops.

You know, it isn't all that silly to compare the iphone 4 to the evo's camera. Hardware wise there both from the same company. And if model numbers mean anything, shouldn't the Evos CMOS sensor suggest its better?
iPhone 4: Omnivision OV5650 1.75u BSI 5MP, RAW sensor.
HTV Evo: Omnivision OV8812 1.4u BSI 8MP, RAW Sensor.
So yea looking at there specs, i think were getting a crimpled camera experience. HTC just doesn't know anything about cameras, and/or GPU's . judging from there lack of GPU acceleration woes with winmo lol.
Edit: Who would like to take RAW HDR photos on there evo? xD, if the iPhone 4 can do it, so can we. Just gotta wait for some community development to kick up.
Wow, okay I see this subject is delicate so I'll try not to be my usual sarcastic self so much when posting.... Minus the trying not to be sarcastic.
Lighten up guys. I was joking about the rubles, and serious about the idea.
Edtate has the right attitude, and has been actively involved in this discussion for months now. Optimism and creative spirit are what's needed here, then we hand that off to the guys with the ingenuity. See how that works?
The whole reason I started this thread is because ideas become convoluted, and die out without an end goal and creativity driving them.
I don't want to start a bounty in open source community, there has been much of that lately, and it seems to result in much conflict. It also defeats the purpose of open source development. Like I said tho, I would pay about $5 for something that meets (most of) my requests, as would others.
And no, I don't want a Cannon dslr, just want my phone to perform on par for it's specs, and advertisments, let alone its competition. The point is in the details which I pointed out in the OP.
Finally, I just want to say that naysayers always nay, that's their duty. The rest of the world says "let's do this". I'm not a programmer, and don't really think Id learn quicker than someone who already can, which I why I started this. Those who wish to help, feel free to get in on this.
I have good management and organizational skills, as do many others here, that alone tells me its too early to give up on this idea.
By the way if money is your incentive, build this app. People WILL buy it.
And, as I said previously its only silly to compare the iPhone outside of the camera HW.
Other than this, I believe our hardware is more than capable of giving the same experience as the iPhone or other modern phones. After all this is supposed to be the Evo 4g, the phone with superpowers!

They use different hardware outside of the camera realm, and surely differences in the codecs also.

but at any rate. This is reassuring, if all of the differences on camera quality is being dictated solely by software, then surly we can do something about our camera woes.
P.S- Compared photos taken with my Evo pitted against my friends HTC HD2, i got so embarrassed. something from a winmo phone was doing a gazillion times better than my evo could. No grain, better flash, amazing color depth (even in low light conditions), no yellowish tint, just pure natural color. What was HTC doing when they RUSHED the Evo out the door?
I would definitely help with UI if thus had some lead.

Wow, maybe I should have paid the 99 for an HD2 after all. One of the main reasons I got this damn phone was for the stupid 8 mp camera.

U can always sell ur evo for 99 dollars and go get u that hd2 see how windows 6.5.treats u let me know ill buy it for 99 dollars if that's what u want this thread is for good ideas or someone willing to help not nagging he made it clear what the camera issues were cheers
Ok I'd like to help with this. I suck ass in java (only did it like 7 years ago for high school) but I've been studying it again for android. I've only made one app, it's unreleased and unfinished but hey it's something... I can work on the basic gui though. just draw up something on a paper and post it on the thread or email it to me. ( pirokosan at gmail dot com ) I want to get this started... Tired of the stock camera and I hate sense.
yes i hope the devs will see this
Camera's fine toy with the settings
from the fade
I support this idea, I used to take amazing pictures with my Blackberry Bold...
I would surely pay $10 or more if this app went on sale.
I'm a flickr addict. This phone is 8mp. I'm sure it won't compare to my 450D but I bet it can damn well come close to making my point and shoot pointless.
I'd gladly switch to aosp if this app becomes a reality.

This excites me that somebody is trying too get the ball rolling with this! If I knew anything about these other than flashing ROM's, I'd be all over helping get this developed. For now, I will just stand on the side cheerleading (and bumping thread).

lmao @ comparing HD2 to the EVO....
Maybe you could part this in the Incredible forums too? Hell give me a better camera and I'll pay $10
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Well, the main reason I support this is because with a custom camera app for the evo will more than likely mean a custom camcorder app; to which we've been trying to unlock its full potential for a looooong time.
@op-I understand how you feel about bounty threads, but guess what, they work. This is a tangible feat, its not like we're reverse engineering proprietary software lol. All we need is a kick in the right direction, to which I'm willing to start of nothing comes out of this thread.

Developer needed to take screenshots for TELUS instructional video

Hi all,
my name is Jordan and I work in the post production department at a video production company in Vancouver called Blink. You can find out more about us here:
http://www.blinkmediaworks.com/
We produce a lot of instructional videos for TELUS, including how-to videos for their phones. To do this we need screenshots from the devices, which in the past with other phones has not been a problem. With the Nokia Lumia 800 we just received from them, however, we have not been able to grab the stills we need because this isn't easily done with the Windows Phone 7 OS. We've tried unlocking the phone with ChevronWP7 (now "sold out") and through AppHub (which will not accept our credit card payment for some reason) in order to side load a screen capture app, but with no success so far.
So we've now decided to reach out to the developer community here to see if anyone would be interested in doing some freelance work for us by obtaining the needed screen shots. If you are interested in this job please send me an e-mail at [email protected] with a rough quote/rate for your time on this project. Check out the videos in the below link to see the videos we did for a previous phone:
http://www.telusmobility.com/en/BC/HTC-Amaze/how-to.shtml
Thanks,
Jordan
Hi. Are you sure you need developers to take a screenshots?? Hmm, perhaps we have a different understanding of the word "developer"
I guessing, any student with dev. unlocked phone and free time can do it for extra cash.
Yes that's true! Sorry, just wasn't sure what wording to use there.

Samsung Galaxy Beam - the projector phone

I can't find a thread for Samsung Galaxy Beam so I will put this information here...
I made a demo filmed at MWC2012 - Barcelona.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cB3cFLvn9uQ
You can see the main functions and the projector. The video is in romanian but I am here for any questions.
Two Questions...
1)
Will this actually be released or is it just a "proof of concept" device?
2)
Will/does it have a AMOLED display or just an LCD?

Amazing phone .cool features ...
Very good concept for a phone
The phone has been released in the beginning of July. Is it so unpopular it doesn't get a special subforum?
What are you going to do with a projector in your smartphone ? In my mind, useless feature.
@ hypfo: You would use one if your job involves a lot of presentations or trainings where the content is the key aspect, not the quality of the image (not high profile executive meetings, but team briefings or trainings). It's also a nice feature for young people who could pull it out at parties to show videos and pictures to a broader audience. The price is a bit steep (same as a Galaxy S II in Romania), but the hardware differences are not huge and you get a projector in exchange.
I have used the phone for a week now and it's absolutely amazing! Here's a video review I made. I apologize for the bad quality in the dark shots, but my cameras are too average to handle it. I can assure you the image is crisp clear in complete dark rooms, but in even the slightest light you loose details and sharpness, and as you can see in my video, in the evening (it was 7 pm), you can't see a thing.

Feel free to ask questions!

Motion Photo

The G7 has the ability to take a "motion photo" with each picture, similar to the Galaxy S7, S8, and S9. How in the world do we share it as a gif? And why do manufacturers keep giving us the ability to create things like this, but not sure them? It's maddening.
