Hi, I just got an RMA device and realized that while I am charging (with original charger), after a few minutes or so my screen becomes laggy. Not unusable but just laggier than when it's not plugged in. It gets fixed for a few minutes by turning off my display and turning it back on, but then it comes back. Anyone else have this problem?

I would think if plugging in gets you lag it might possibly be from syncing Google Photos and updating apps. I use my phone while plugged in during my driving and Android Auto or playing YouTube and screen reaction feels fine.

i have noticed twice in the last week that when i take my phone off charge in the morning it has been dead... like it was never charging. is this a faulty device or is it common for everyone
doesn't sound right. check whats eating up the battery at night, might be a dodgy app but sounds like a dodgy battery
Sometimes if it's using a lot of power it will be drawing more than the charger gives and still use up the battery. Make sure there aren't any programs running or large amounts of data being transferred on data networks.
It's really bad to run the battery all the way down. If you can't figure out what it is, it may be worth sending it in for service/replacement.
That happens to me with bricked kernel, are u using it?

Id suspect faulty usb/ charger if they move ever so slightly on worn bad cords itl drop charge even tho it was chsrging when u set it down for the night
I know.i have about 5 extra chargers two of them do this everytime
Suspect a charger before u suspect a 600$ phone

okay, i have an update.. this is freaking weird. i have a video and picture of this for proof. the phone was sitting on my desk with the screen off unplugged from the charger.. and then the screen and charging light come on, followed by a beep, and sure enough the charging animation was there... but the phone wasnt plugged in.. i started playing with it and a message popped up saying the phone is using more power than the charger can discharge... 'BUT YOUR NOT PLUGGED IN' :S
i will take it back tomorrow and try for my 5th faultless phone :S sigh*
Has anyone else had an issue like the following
1. phone is off (0%)
2. Plugin charger
3. Red light activates (charging while off)
4. Random amount of time passes eg. 30 mins phone boots up by itself
???
Can anyone explain?
is the phone faulty or charger maybe the cause?

Your not really supposed to run the battery down to zero. It could be designed to boot automatically if the battery had been below a certain amount and it turned off due to that... Not that i have anything to back that theory up...

A Possible cause could be damaged usb port (charging port). Get it to service center.

i noticed that then my phone is on charge, the screen becomes really unresponsive, it take at least five times until i can unlock it, and as soon as i unlock it automatically phone app opens by it self. really annoying issue, i cant use my phone when it is being charged. it doesnt get too hot or anything, just the screen is very unresponsive.
anyone else have it?
Hi,
I have the G Pad GPE and was wondering if anyone else is having problems with the back of the unit getting very hot (especially the top) and laggy while playing games (Asphalt 8 in my case)? At times it also gets very hot while charging and when it does so it stops charging. I'd like to see if anyone else is having these issues before I contact Google for a replacement.
Thanks

If you charge it with the original charger, on stock rom, with the stock kern, and it "stops charging" you should just get it replaced, regardless of others having the same issue or not.

Thanks. In general it charges slowly which I see is pretty common. When it overheats (~40°C) during charging it basically stops or charges extremely slowly. It doesn't happen all the time though. When it doesn't overheat it charges ~25% per hour. Regardless of the overheating, is that charge speed normal using the stock charger and cable?
BTW I am stock everything right now. Waiting to mess around with it until I decide to replace it or not.
I have the same problem but myne is not GPE. It is very hot! and laggy i had replaced once but the new unit also has the issue. I dont know how to fix it.
My no longer lags any more apart from the occasional HIC up when watching long 1080p movies

Hey guys,
first of - sorry if this is oftopic.
I notice heavy charging issues on my g4 intl. The phone just won't charge probably.
I'm running on the latest cyanogenmod nightly, everything else works fine.
Cyanogen says "slow charging" even when I plug in the original cable, or a quick charge wallplug. With all micro USB cables everything is fine for a week or two, but after that everything repeats again.
It seems like the phone cuts down the input power to 300 milli amps or so, while "charging" the battery percentage is going down sometimes, too.
When the phone is off and plugged in, the charging is slow too.
But sometimes everything is fine for a charge or two.
Does anyone have the same issue or have a solution?
Greetings from germany
Okay I found some guys talking about this here, but is there any final solution for this?

It happens to me too, stock ROM, cm13, aosp, no difference.
I have tried changing USB cable (only cable) and device begin charging normally again.
I don't think it's something software related..
But if you have already tried with another charger and problem is still there..
I'm really frustrated. I don't know what is happening to my g4, since 2 month's I noticed heavy red screen ghosting, too. The phone was already repaired once from lg, there the problem was that it won't boot up anymore.. Next time I won't buy lg..

I got problems with display too..
Both lateral sides are brighter than the rest of the screen.
Especially with dark images it is absolutely horrible.
Will never ever buy LG anymore.
same problem here with the ghosting and the super slow charge some times battery goes down even while plugged to original charger, had a G2 before this, love the phone was almost flawless, this one I had it for almost a year now, piece of **** full of problems, now after the lates OTA the unlocking is retardedly slow, I double tap for unlocking the screen wakes up but dimmed and unresponsive and after a second it fully wakes up, I'm so frustrated with this piece of ****, the only good thing is the camera. Btw regarding the slow charging problem, I tried with different batteries and chargers and same results (I'm fully stock, no root no nothing)

Hello!,
My nexus 5x was working fine on 8.0
I had it in my pocket and the next time I take it out the screen was black and it is totally unresponsive.
What can I try to fix it?
Today it worked again, it had no charge but responded to the charger and boots up like normal.
It seems like it is slow with taking a rapid charge.
Should i do anything ?
I am facing an issue with my Pixel 2 XL recently. I am unable to power on my phone after leaving it off for some time. After I connect the phone to the charging cable, it takes a while for the battery charging symbol to appear. It is only then that I can turn on my phone.
Did anyone else encounter this problem?

What was the battery level at which it happened?
If full device battery died, it can only be turned on after battery symbol appear.
Sofar not encountered such thing

If can happened at any battery level. I need to connect the phone to the charging cable, wait for the charging icon to appear (which will take a short while), and then on the phone. The phone seems to lack the ability to be powered on after being in the "off" mode for a period of time. However, after turning it on, the battery still shows the charge level before the phone was turned off.
Really puzzled what is happening.
How long of a period of time? 1 hour? Overnight? And why is it off for so long anyway? I never let my phone die or have a reason to keep it off.

I would say just about 5 mins or slightly less. I was trying to recreate the problem a number of times.
Although I could leave the phone on all the time, but having this problem is still frustrating as one would expect a good working phone.
Interesting. That's not much time at all. I'll see if I can recreate it.

So I went to 10 minutes with the phone off and was able to turn it on fine without plugging it in. This was with 36% battery.

I agree a normal working phone shouldn't have this problem. As a workaround you may turn on airplane mode instead of turning the phone completely off. This is what I usually do when I don't expect to use the phone for a longer period of time, e.g. when I go swimming and the phone is left in a locker. I started doing so when I noticed that, while using the older Nexus phones a few years ago, the phone would get hot and had a serious battery drain, due to poor mobile signal inside a locker. I hated turning the phone off and on which took very long to boot up, in the Nexus era. Switching airplane mode on and off is instantaneous
When you say leaving it off, do you mean powered off or screen off?
Powered off.

Thanks, I will try this method again. It did not seem to work the other time I tried.
It is real frustrating to encounter this problem. And Google is making things difficult for me to replace this phone as I am not the original buyer and not in US. This is even I proposed to ship the phone back via international airmail.

Ouch...that is rough...
Try running it in "safe mode" for a couple of days and see if it still happens. If it doesn't happen while in safe mode, then it looks to be an app issue. Then, if it still continues even in safe mode, I suggest resetting the phone and running it "bare-bones" a few days. If it doesn't happen during this time, then it definitely is an app issue and/or an app-system conflict issue. Then the last resort you might have is flashing the Full Factory image and running it bare-bones a few days just in case it's a system bug/issue.
If it still happens during that time, and you are running bare-bones like that, then it must be hardware issue (which is what I'm guessing it is; a battery/interface issue). And if it's that, your only hope is Google or selling the thing. If you are willing and able, I would suggest you asking Google if you can have it worked over "out-of-warranty." It'll cost you, but the alternative is selling it and/or buying a whole 'nother new one...
Good luck to you...
