Phone not getting locked - OnePlus 5T Questions & Answers

My OnePlus 5T is running Oxygen OS 5.1.5 on Oreo 8.1. My phone sometimes doesn't get properly locked upon pressing the power button. Anyone can open it by just swiping up.
I have to tap on the lock button on the screen in order to properly lock it. What should I do to fix this issue? My phone doesn't have smart lock enabled at all, neither face unlock.

Fingerprint scanner can be used to unlock. I am still adjusting to using this phone which is new to me, but I am finding that I can shorten the amount of time till the screen is automatically locked, since it is so easy to unlock with a finger. Though I wish it had separate device lock and screen blank timers.
If you had a different launcher you might be able to take advantage of double tap to wake/sleep.

Fingerprint behaves strangely after 3.2.8 OOS Update

Hi,
I am experiencing issues with fingerprint unlock after update to OxygenOS 3.2.8 last week.
When I put finger on the middle button, usually it does unlock the phone... BUT - in about 1/4 of all tries, it just wakes up the (lock) screen and not actually unlock the phone. I figured that this happens when there are notifications on lock screen. It is really annoying, when this happens, even after turning screen off and then pressing the middle button only the lock screen appears and I have to put in PIN code manually to unlock the phone.
Does anyone faces similar issue?
For the record, I have rooted phone and stock ROM. Xposed installed.

help, locked out of oneplus 3

my oneplus 3 (rooted) is not accepting my swipe pattern and does not give me the option to enter a pin code after a forgotten swipe pattern. i called oneplus but the person i spoke to said the only option was to wipe the phone. she would not allow me to talk directly to anyone with any technical expertise.
when i power on the phone everything seems normal until i get to the swipe pattern screen. first ,the bootloader screen (i think, the screen where you either press the start button to start the phone, or use the volume buttons to select options like poweroff/restart/recovery etc) shows up and then the oneplus logo comes up with the 'powered by android' at the bottom. then it shows the two white dots orbiting the red circle and then the screen to enter the swipe pattern appears with 'to start android, draw your pattern' at the top. i have made a few failed attempts, but it is now counting down, saying you have 6 attempts before the phone is wiped.
about two weeks ago i began having an issue that occurred maybe 2 or 3 times since. i would pull my phone out of my pocket and it would be powered off. after i turned it on, the initial swipe pattern would not be accepted, but the second swipe was always accepted.
i have tried entering recovery mode (teamwin), but the swipe pattern fails here also.
is there any way to get the phone started without losing my data?

Don't think you can do anything. Haven't encountered this what did you do with your phone? Are you on the latest TWRP? Latest OOS?

i had not changed anything on the phone recently. the swipe pattern has been the same since i got the phone over 2 years ago. i believe i was on the latest twrp, and i had a notification for about a week or two that there was an update available, but did not get around to downloading and installing it yet.

Fingerprint button doesn't work (sometimes)

Recently or after latest update, the fingerprint button sometimes not working. Has anyone has the same problem?
Every 10 fingerprint checks, 2 not working...
In safe mode, still the same problem...
Any help, any advise? How to be sure it is hardware or software issue?
LG G7 UK (not branded)
Android 9
V20d-EUR-XX
mine too.
Maybe try re-setting up your fingerprints
Try going into safe mode and see if you experience the issue.
1. push/hold the power button, when the menu pops up, hold the power off icon on the screen until it asks you to reboot into safe mode.
2. reboot into safe mode.
3. test your fingerprint, if it works fine, you need to find the app that is causing it.
Continue uninstalling apps you do not need until your fingerprint scanner works.
The Xfinity streamming app caused my issues. I was experiencing finger print device dirty, or no responsiveness, etc.. after removing the app that caused it, it functions as new.
