I will answer any question you need. let me know.
my Cell signal is messed up. I have bootloader unlocked phone that is US998. I installed the US99820e_02_0910.kdz from ChazzMatt and then in TWRP Aroma installered the BoomBox V30 from Whiskeyomega. do you know how to reinstall the modem/cellular parts only?
EDIT: I changed back to the KDZ rom/version instead of BoomBox. I guess the question still stands. How do we reinstall only the cell part of the US998 rom into the BoomBox rom?

Does it say no service or does it show signal but no LTE?

You don't say what provider you are with. But whatever it is, on 20E you are fine? It's only when you install Boombox that you can't get a signal?
On most ROMs, you do not need to re-flash modem. But still many developers provide TWRP flashable versions of newer modems so you can update when those are released. I am not aware of any TWRP flashable modems for the V30 yet.

Yeah, I'm confused about that as well. If his phone is working fine on US998 20E, then why is it not on stock-based Boombox ROM?
Dam xda login deleted my whole message and sent me to the front page. Mean. I won't rewrite it but here are the highlights.
TMobile. It's been a week straight of reflashing. I think it's a level 8 error but I don't know what I would mess up on these simple instructions. The messaging apps and phone app crashes. after putting in the apn settings, I got data but very poor. I've recreated some of the main features like dual speaker and sound mixer from whiskyomega and set the dpi to 560 and uninstalled many system apps through titanium backup on this US998 ROM. I'm exhausted on going through LGs tutorial stuff over and over again. Yeah i know what my buttons do, NAVI ya pest. I would definitely love to just flash boombox ROM instead of going through the hassle of this. However right now I'm tired of trying. I'll just wait for stable pie ROMs to come out.
Thank you for reading my long winded story.
Thanks for this thread. I don't need to make new threads for questions now.
Question:
I'm quite jnterested in flashing this kernel
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v30/development/kernel-lunar-kernels-lg-v30-t3804267
for stock ROM (h930). Unfortunately, I've been reading the thread (I think I'm just missibg a few pages in the middle), but there are some things I couldn't find.
1. What are the bugs for stable? In the OP of the threat, the bugs are marked "outdated" so I'm not sure if the issues still persist.
2. Treblelized? I keep seeing this but I don't know if this is necessary. I haven't repartitioned, and I was wondering if i will have to moving forward (for flashing ROMs, kernels, etc). I can't recall seeing this on the bootloader unlock thread so I never got around to doing it (based on experience, repartitioning is dangerous - one mistake and you run the risk of hard brick - so I might skip this if I don't need it).
Again, thank yiu for the thread and for the amswers! Apologies if the questions are noobish. My last phone was a G5 that can't be rooted so I am far from up-to-date on flashing and modding (never had to do that on my g3 and g4 lol). And i didn't want to ask general questions on dev threads...
is there a solution to fix Hardrick lg v30 (msm8998) qdloader 9008. please

Custom kernel questions should be asked in the kernel thread. You can ask here, but the best people to answer - - including the dev - - are there.
No, you don't need "Treble" or to vendor partition your drive. If that's something you want to tinker with later, feel free. We don't have official Treble support anyways. The Treble stuff is project @SGCMarkus is doing to replicate Treble in our phone. But all ROMs without Treble in the title do not need vendor partition ("Treble") to install. You just need TWRP.

I see. My apologies. I'm not used to asking on dev threads as it was frowned upon on past device subforums (unless you have a log for your issue, questions are for the Q&A threads - I really don't want to bother the devs with a lot of questions unless i can provide logs to help them out). I guess it's qyite different here (still in awe of how helpful everyone's been).
I'll finish readibg the whole thread and ask there if I still have questions. Again, thank you. And i apologize for having a lot of questions.
Edit;
I'll probably leave treble alone for now. I've had bad experiences with repartitioning (hard brick) since one wrong move and there's no going back. Lol.

First of all sorry for posting thread here in dev sector, but here audience is bigger.
I want to ask devs. Why do you make model-specific mods? Eg AndroidNow supports only D855 and the CM vs LiquidSmooth too.. And many other roms....
What about "korean" series F400SKL or others? It is possible to make multi-variants via AROMA as it did Cloudy.
So answer to me - Is it so hard for developers to bring their ROMS for more people?
P.S. As i know, the difference in models is only in kernel and modem, so why not?
I think once the bump tool is released today, this won't be a big problem.
Because people cant follow simple instructions!

I read the post and don't understand this completely. Does it say that you can use every LG G3 rom on every G3 model?
I believe as long as the kernel matches your device, you should be fine. You might run into problems flashing a Verizon ROM on an AT&T phone though with service and stuff though.
Okay despite you saying that you know that this post was not supposed to be in here doesn't excuse it from being in this sub-forum. Q&A would've been much better since you're asking a question and believe me when the amount of audience in here is just as same in there.

Ok, lets take G3 Android Development section.
S3V3N is a developer of AndroidNow. This ROM is stock-based, and it has awesome features, but the only model it support is D855, so it can't be installed on F400SKL or other model with different kernels and basebands. My question is - Why it support only one model? Why cant developer add AROMA and push there more kernels for more variants of G3 as it did Cloudyfa in his CloudyG3?
And there more ROMS with support of only D855 (which is G3 modification for Europe) For Example CM and LiquidSmooth
As for me, i have bought G3 when in day it was released, and that model is F400S. I think there many people who like custom ROMs but the are not able to try CM on our device because of no support

I think its because pepole without a contract are most likely to buy the D855 variant...
you cant expect a developer to maintain a rom for every variant out there, you can however learn and explore how to get it working for your variant and build it from source.

What contract are you talking about? I bought F400S in Russian LG official retailer. It was unlocked from factory. The box was sealed.
Yeap i can learn how, but i wont to become dev again, and most of people with G3 dont want to develop roms, they want to use CM or others..
I have no idea how @Cloudyfa did his patch to make his ROM work for all variants. He also helped the MIUI dev get that working on all the variants as well. Also this Bump thing is all new to me too. I'm not sure how it all works.
I have the D850 and I flashed AndroidNow when it first came out. It worked fine on my device minus a problem with in-call audio which was not a kernel problem. I believe it was a RIL problem, but whatever the problem was, Cloudyfa made that patch in his ROM to work on all variants.
I'm no dev but I've been around and maybe someday would like to get into ROM developing. I had fun theming the Galaxy SIII back in the day.

It is not a patch. He made AROMA zip with switchable models. choosing a model will install specify kernel, modify build.prop and add some files into /lib /etc (they configure gps region, bluetooth country settings, lte gsm and wcdma bands)

I didnt say you got it under contract, I meant that the most common variant is D855 and that's why chances are that if you're a Dev you got that variant(unless you're from the US and got it under contract from one of the carriers) ... Plus, you say most people don't want to develop for the G3 but you expect development to pick up for all variants, if you gonna demand something to fit your needs you better be ready to assist.
Sent from my caseless LG G3, because I believe in myself
It's simple. You usually develop ROMs for the device that you have. Easier to debug issues for a device that you have rather than ask someone else to do so.
If you're frustrated by the lack of development for your device, PM a dev that develops ROMs for D855, ask him politely if it's possible for him to do so for your variant, and offer to maintain & debug the issues with your device. Sorry to say this but the way you're asking here in this thread comes across as rude and demanding.

F400 is the first variant of G3. It was released 2 months earlier than D855.( or mb 1 month idk) so why European version received CM and other thing earlier? I cant imagine that there are no devs who bought G3 at start, i mean F400

Just search in CM AndroidNow and other for hotword "F400" and u will see that users asked for it long time ago
Asking for it does not entitle you to get it. That is not how XDA works. The devs do what they do for free, for the community, in their free time or as a hobby. It should not turn into something that they *have* to do or be difficult to maintain.
Like I said, PM a dev asking for pointers on how to port stuff for your variant or ask them if they can do so, offer help. Don't post a thread demanding & questioning them.

Stock kernels do not need bump, cloudy uses stock kernels.
If anything the devs do enough by just making the ROM
It'd be cool for someone to make a porting guide. Or even better a stock installer script or an aroma installer that automatically detects the model and flashes the appropriate kernel etc. I'd take on the challenge but I'm not too confident in my skills on this stuff. First step would be diff the stock roms and compare the changes

Okay so if I may ask you. I have a Tmo G3 which is unlocked. I'm running Cloudyfa rom. I have at&t service. In his aroma installer there's an option for both at&t and Tmo. I chose Tmo and can't seem to get the LTE icons to show. Would I be able to flash the at&t option instead in order to get the LTE icon and not damage the phone? Sorry for the long drawn out question.
Thanks for you help.

I checked several of the threads in the various subforums but since I am currently really busy (have the phone for 3 weeks and I am not using it cause had no time to check XDA ) if you are kind enough I have some questions that spending more time in the threads would probably answer themselves but alas...
A: If I root the G3 can I bring it back to stock without any indication it got rooted (I heard some phones have special logs that show if a phone has been rooted that survive the various flashes), in case I need to send it for service?
B: Should I go with the root method shown on XDA TV (which doesn't show how to install a custom recovery) or one of the one click auto batch scripts?
C: I think generally this question is not allowed cause it can lead to flame but which ROM would you recommend I try first? I need just a clean, smooth running ROM. Disclaimer: Avoid arguing with other users if you disagree with something they said, just state the ROM and if you want your reason for picking it and I will scroll through them and decide.
Much obliged if you care to answer them and apologies to mods if this breaks any rules.

A: You can always go back to stock using LG flash tool with no evidence of rooting nor like samsung's knox
B: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3072767
C: I personally use resurrection remix rom based on CM12 due to performance but if you want fully working G3 with no bugs at all I recommend my favorite rom CupaChups 4.2. Super fast stock base rom with some extra features.
P.S. I recommend you to instal Kernel Adiutor from the play store after you root your G3 and change the governor from default Interactive to Conservative. Cos from some unknown reasons the Interactive governor is bugged on all G3 and changing that will highly increase your performance speed and feel. This works with base and aosp roms also.
Hope this helps

Thank you, is there a problem if the phone is already on stock 5.0? Can I still root it with the same methods or must I restore it to 4.4.x? (A simple restore to factory blabla does it?)

If you have a look around there's a one click method that works for all G3 variants regardless of software version that is here on the forums. You can use that, download the zip for your desired custom rom, install a custom recovery and then flash the ROM and you should be good to go. There's plenty of guides for you to use, and each custom rom thread should have it's own installation guide

Q&A for [ROM] UltraPOP [ZVG] [05-07-2015] [Ver 1.0]
Some developers prefer that questions remain separate from their main development thread to help keep things organized. Placing your question within this thread will increase its chances of being answered by a member of the community or by the developer.
Before posting, please use the forum search and read through the discussion thread for [ROM] UltraPOP [ZVG] [05-07-2015] [Ver 1.0]. If you can't find an answer, post it here, being sure to give as much information as possible (firmware version, steps to reproduce, logcat if available) so that you can get help.
Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!

So, first I'll quickly detail how I upgraded. Coming from Blisspop, I ran Autorec for Lollipop (linked in OP), rebooted to recovery, wiped flashed the ZVG radios (linked in OP), flashed the rom, and it was good to go. No tot back to stock required for me (YMMV).

I did the exact same thing to my ls980 coming from Blisspop 2.3 and it just looped at the LG boot logo. Then I flashed the kernel to see if that would work and now I can't even get the lg flash tool to see my phone in download mode! I can't even flash back to stock! Before that I tried to restore my my twrp backups but none of them are working now. Kinda pissed, not blaming anybody. I just wish sometimes things weren't explained in such a bleak manner. The more specifications the better. In other words, depending on which version of Blisspop and what phone model you're using....this might now work for everybody.

It's all good on my end. For some reason the laptop that I only use for flashing my phone to stock was set to the wrong com port. I flashed to stock, upgraded to ZVG, rooted, used AutoRec Lollipop, wiped everything except internal memory, flashed the rom, waited a little bit for the LG logo to disappear and everything has been smooth ever since. It's a nice, minimalistic, clean rom. Indeed worth the trouble, good work. One question? How can I get a menu button in the navigation bar in this rom? Is it there and I just can't find it?

First question, did you put the phone to cloudy 3g 2.1? It did you buy it that way?
Which service provider or carrier are you on? Sprint or someone else?
These are important as stock will only allow sprint to work.

Will we have The Dorimanx kernel soon?
I've seen he wants to add it but hasn't yet. The Lollipop Dorimanx is out, but no new version with it. Will we see it anytime soon?

Also, can you bring back the original task manager into the ROM? I miss having the app built in. And I'm having problems with video playback when I record something.
Need to rollback, or be advised of any custom ROMS that work..
Try Elite ROM from ROM section. it should work fine.
I personally would not recommend installing Elite ROM as it is more hassle than it is worth when you try to switch ROMs. It re/debrands your device and even after restoring a nandroid your audio will not work nor will your camera function properly. What files have bad keys? I put a lot of those up and the keys should work fine....
@shashank1320 check the links in the BLN-L24 section....something got messed up when you copied my links as mine work.
@ghostair is your device bricked? IMO none of the ROMs for this phone are worth installing on a main phone because there is too much functionality lost, no disrespect to the devs. Elite ROM does have the least amount of bugs but it is a hassle as I mentioned earlier. My main gripe about it is when installing and uninstalling apps you must restart the device in order for the apps to be added or removed from the app drawer....its a major annoyance.

Let me check mate. Thanks for pointing that out.
No it's not bricked, actually I am on TWRP 3.1.1-0, it was only EliteROM's version that didn't work. I haven't even been able to use the phone at all, for a week, and am currently on LineageOS 13 as it was only release that works for my model it seems.

Im confused....your original post says you need to rollback but you say you are currently on LOS 13?? Rolling back refers to downgrading from Android 7.0 (Nougat) to 6.0.1 (MM) but you are already on MM if you are running LOS 13. You also say your device is not bricked but then in the next sentence say you havent been able to use it at all for a week.....and lastly you say LOS 13 was the only release to work for your model yet every single ROM in the development forum can be flashed to the BLN-L24, I know because I have done it.
What exactly are you trying to accomplish here? Your posts are contradictory and make no sense. Id be glad to help but you gotta give me something to work with here.
Im assuming you did not make a full backup in TWRP before flashing any ROMs, in which case you have learned a valuable lesson....always have a backup. But since you dont we will get you back to EMUI which I assume is what you mean when you say roll back.

I understand, I probably should have just used, "go back," to EMUI. Since LOS 13 isn't usable in the least, as I can't make calls, and it drops LTE.
If they work then how? I followed everything, flashing vendor.img with fastboot, then flashing the respective zip?
I'd rather not go back to EMUI, it's why I haven't been able to actually "use it as a phone," since purchase.
Why would you not want to go back to EMUI? Its smooth and everything works. EMUI is the reason you havent been able to use it as a phone?? There is not one single ROM for this device that works entirely and has full functionality. You're always going to be missing something whether its the camera, LTE, calls, etc.
You're going to have to go back to EMUI so you can update to Anrdoid 7.0 (be sure to make a full backup) and then flash away all the ROMS you like and you will see they are all broken in some way. This is most definitely not the phone to use if you are looking for polished ROMs.
My last tip before departing......download the flashable vendor zip if you still want to mess around with the ROMs, it makes life much easier. Its in one of the threads in that forum I think AOKP
On request, to easier find this, im creating this thread
For all the H932 users out there, who also want to use ROMs that dont provide support for it, but only for the H930, heres a little zip for you, which will allow you to fully use H930 ROMs on your H932.
What this zip does:
Replaces the necessary firmware files (list here (H930 tree, because the H932s list is somehow empty... gotta fix that later)) which are the only (important) difference.
This wont change the device fingerprint from H930 to H932 (maybe in a later version, who knows)
This is also ONLY intented for AOSP ROMs (LOS, RR, whatever else we have), do NOT use this on Stock based ROMs
How to use it:
1) Flash H930 ROM on your H932
2) Flash this zip
3) boot the system
This is NOT for H930/US998/and so on users!

Thanks! Just added to the Root Sticky post.
Suggestion: all the ROM devs should add prominent link to this thread to their OP (post #1) of their ROM threads. It would only increase their ROM usage, as T-mobile H932 users think they don't have many choices!

This is ONLY for AOSP/Lineage custom ROMs, so T-Mobile H932 can boot them. Is the op not clear?
Post #2 screenshot is pretty clear.
Thanks for yours hard work. Have more choices to choose now..,?
Has anyone used on LiquidRemix rom for H930 and installed the rom on Tmo H932? Thanks.
thank you for thread (and link to thread) as it clears alot of confusion.
im still weary of using ROMs that werent "built" with h932 foundation for a number of reasons, but may give a few of the AOSP ROMs a shot if i cant find a decent debloated stock.

Tried it. And a bunch of pie based AOSP ROMs on rooted h932. They all boot fine but the modem bootstack doesn't match up. You won't get Wi-Fi on any pie ROM with h932 at the moment
I Tried to Update But Cant Possible.
Any One How to update LG V30 AS998?

Well, you need to ask in relevant threads. Or start a new thread in the Questions section. I see you finally posted in Frankenstein, which is helpful for what you need. I answered your question there.
In forums like this, people don't want irrelevant questions clogging their threads. This is a thread for T-Mobile H932 only and they couldn't care less about AS998.

Can you clarify what you mean with this? I used RR and this converter and wifi worked fine. Similarly I've used for a long time the Lineage specific H932 build and I also get wifi. However in my region (Norway) I get an "x" on the LTE, HSPDA, 3G (any bands really) signal bars that comes and goes. Sometimes data works - especially when connected to a VPN, but I've had no issue in any other country, just this one and I wonder if the 2 are related. Or am I clutching at straws? I had to give up on my H932 and go back to my old iphone (bluurgh) because I don't know what the issue is and I can't be working with unreliable data.

This literally does the same (relevant) changes to the ROM as when you would build H932 ROMs (the only difference are the few firmware files and the device fingerprint (unimportant))... so whatever issue you have, its not related to this

I honestly couldnt explain it any further than what I did
HOWEVER.
I decided to flash the LP ROM again, then the H930 to H932 converter, flash Magisk, and THEN the 20s Modem from a another topic and all my WiFi issues were cleared up.
so yes, in my particular case, I had to flash the ROM, and then the Modem in order to get Wi-Fi to work
Updated with the pie blobs from H932 30d. Zip is attached in the OP.
Does the same as for oreo, just with pie blobs and their location, so you shouldnt have any issues.
