Don't you think our phone has same problem
I'm using the 5v 2A adapter which I got from the box while charging it shows charging rapidly

Hi guys
Im having a weird problem with the battery. It seems battery doesnt charge when im using the phone although it says and shows it charging! It just stays at the same battery percentage it doesnt charge or drain! When i turn off the screen it charges the battery just fine. I called o2 UK where i bought the phone, the rep said when i use the phone it consumes more power than it gets. Can this be true?! Do you think its just a software bug or defective hardware or defective battery?

This is true if you're charging from the USB on your computer. USB ports only provide 500mA. The phone seems to use more than this if you are actively using it. I recommend using a wall plug that provides at last 1 Amp (1000ma) to effectively charge the phone.
How about car chargers? Same thing happens when its charging with the car charger..

If I'm not mistaken, any car charger, whether it's rated at .5A, 1A, or 2.1A is only going to provide .5A to your phone using a typical USB cable. The USB cable that came with your phone has +/- lines for power as well as 2 data lines. If you pickup a "charging only USB cable" it has the data lines shorted so that only the power lines are functional. This type of cable would allow you to take advantage of the higher current 1A and 2.1A chargers - I think anyway. I'm still new to Nexus so I haven't confirmed that, but that's the way it worked on my old phone. I did read somewhere that even with a charging only cable someone wasn't able to pull 1A from their car charger so I don't know if that was a unique issue or if the Nexus doesn't behave the same way. My understanding is the amount of current pulled from the charger is dependent on the charger AND the phone. Using a special charging cable tricks the phone into thinking it's on A/C I guess.
Hi all,
I'm running into a strange issue with my Z1 Compact. I've just bought an Anker 40w 5-port USB charger, and when I connect it to my Z1c with the magnetic cable, it charges fine and everything is OK. However, if I connect it using a standard micro USB cable, it discharges at a rate of around 800ma instead of charging.
It's not just the Anker charger - I had a similar issue with an Arctic 4-port charger I was using previously. When I connect to the stock charger with micro USB, everything is fine and the phone charges normally. I'm running the latest build of SlimKat (it was happening with previous versions as well as on CyanogenMod) with unlocked bootloader.
Is the stock Sony charger different to regular USB chargers in terms of internal connections? I can't figure out why else this would be happening.
Stock charger has 1,5A and when you charge phone and at the same time you use it wont discharge. But if you have charger with max 1A or even less your phone would discharge while havy using
That's the thing though - the Arctic charger is rated for up to 2A per port, whilst the Anker is rated up to 2.4A per port, so it shouldn't be that.
Also, if I'm just using the phone normally whilst not plugged in, I might get a current drain of around 450mA from the battery. But if I plug it into one of these chargers over micro USB, the drain will be around 800mA to 1100mA. So it's not that the phone is using more current than the charger can provide; the charger is apparently actively discharging the phone.
I'm using Battery Monitor Widget Pro to check on all this. When I connect to the 3rd party chargers the mV and mAh flicker and jump about, but are steady over the magnetic cable or over micro USB on the OEM charger. Not sure what this signifies, if anything...
Will it charge faster?
Does it do harm?
What do you mean by fast charger? also what tablet -
On my tab pro 8.4 when hooked to the stock 2A charger it will charge close to 2A (1870mA) , I haven't tried hooking it up to anything higher but I suspect its limited by the circuitry.
But generally charging at faster rates will shorten the life of the battery as it causes more heat and the battery can wear out faster, you should generally stick the the charging adapter provided with the device for best results.
I did it once. Is that bad?

Since the internal electricity limits the current, it doesn't do harm when the current exceeds the limit.

As long as the charger matches the tablet / phone voltage then it should be ok, so plugging in a 5V 3A charger won't hurt it in the short term.
Sometimes the cable matters too (depending on the charger), if the wall charger doesn't support fast charging natively (using internal shorted data pins), then the data pins in a usb cable might need to be shorted to tell the phone to charge using AC mode, this is known as a "charging cable" and will only work with that function (once modified you can't use it for data transfers), you can also purchase charging cables, Though nearly all modern wall chargers now short the pins for you so you don't need the special cable.
On Samsung devices you can see if its charging under AC or USB mode by going to Settings -> General -> Battery and see if it says Charging (AC) or Charging (USB).,
USB is limited to 500 mA , or perhaps 900 mA on usb 3.0 (might need kernel support, and usb 3.0), AC mode should draw as much power as the internal circuitry or the charger can allow .
Recently my s4 hasn't been charging correctly. It's been charging really slow and the phone heats up a lot on the top left area when charging. It used to not do this before. I downloaded Ampere to check the charging rate and it's 300mA. I've tried different USB cables, ac connectors, and outlets and they all give 1200mA. I've also tried different USB on the ac connector that came with my s4 and it gives 1200mA only when I try to use the S4 cable it shows 300mA. Is the cable the problem or is it the battery? Could someone please use Ampere and see the rate you get with the USB cable and ac connector that came with the S4?
Hey guys !
I just bought an Galaxy Tab S (8.4) from eBay but it came without any charger/cable.
As it is a Micro USB port, there's no real problem, I have literally tons of usb chargers available.
The problem is that most the chargers/cable I used only charged the battery at a 0.3A rate (measured with an USB voltmeter + battery app).
I know that the original charger was 5.3v 2A. I tried with some powerful 5.0v charger (3.0A/Quickcharger 3.0 compatible from Anker) but no luck so far...
Is there a specific charger/specs know to work well with this pad ?
I'm using this aukey 3.0 compatible wall charger and so far it's charging as expected
How fast does it charge ? I only get 0.3A with this charger, which charges really slow...
0.3A is 300ma i am surprised the battery charges at all at that low rate, My 10.5" draws 1700ma from my third-party chargers according to my usb monitor, I have managed to charge it as low as 1000ma from my notebooks usb port, but you need a charge only cable as a data cable will not charge at all.
