My Mi Max 3 does not have Camera2API enabled, so I can't capture RAW pictures with the camera. How can I fix this? I tried Magisk but it broke the WiFi for some reason (WiFi could not be turned on at all). Is there any other way to enable Camera2API? I'm running MIUI 9.6.11.0 Stable (China ROM)
It's really stupid that Xiaomi doesn't let us capture RAW images with the default camera app of Mi Max 3. Good camera sensor totally wasted.
Was just hunting around for how to do this, is editing the build.prop file the only way I wonder? Couldn't find anything in the Magisk development and modification machine downloads section.
Look at this :
magisk-camera2-api-enabler
worked for me, i am now a happy Gcam user....
I ended up flashing a rom with it enabled.
Yeah I ended up doing the same, too as I wasn't aware of the module. I'll give it a go when MIUI 11 global finally surfaces!
1) Unlock your bootloader (Approx. wait for 1 week)
2) When it is ready, download "XiaoMiTool V2"
3) Unlock your phone.
4) Install TWRP
5) Install Magisk.
I got RN5 (global) which has Android 8.1.0.OPM1.171019.011 / MIUI 9.6.4.0
I would like to install google camera to have nice photo quality like pixel.
Came across this article which says we can do it without need to root.

Wondering if anyone has done these steps or any similar steps for ref?

Any help here please?

Yes, you can get Gcam to work on your device by using these steps, If you don't wanna root your device.
Though rooting your device will make the process 5x easier, it's up to you. ?
Let me know if there's anything else I can help you with.
Have a nice day
You have to unlock BL to do:
- Install twrp recovery
- Flash CameraAPI2 enabler zip file
- Install GCam
But if not root, you can't take front HDR+ Enhanced and Portrait.
If you root you can solve front cam problem.
I don't know why you don't want root. If something relate to finance apps, magisk hide will pass easily!

Do you have working hdr enhanced in every light conditions? Camera is working for me only in daylight scenes. Rear works but front doesn't.

Yes you can, take a look here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-5-pro/themes/gcam-root-flashing-twrp-t3813230
Yeah you can do it but you need to unlock your bootloader at least if not root ...if you unlock your bootloader then you can temporarily boot twrp and by using you can enable camera 2 api and thus, install gcam
You can use ADB on MIUI to enable Camera2 API, which works without root.
i have a problem.
my touch screen is working perfectly but, sometimes didn't response from thw top of screen " status bar "
and to fix it, i have to lock the phone and unlock it again to work normally.
it's happening everyday three times at least and it's very innoying.

I'm sure that's not a hardware problem, I'm already checked my device in a repair service center and there is no problem.
It's definitely a hardware issue, at least for me... Sort of.
I had multiple ghost touches, specially when the batt level is below 40% and phone is in horizontal position.
But after installing a Xiaomi.EU ROM the frequency of touch issues reduced a lot.
Sadly I don't have an active warranty.
My screen is a Schenchao one, just in case.
I have the exact same problem. I will try to disable all modules in Magisk but first I need to see how to reproduce the error.
Same here, it drives me crazy when I want to play some games or typing on any keyboard.
Can you please list here what Magisk Modules you have? Just to merge them from more users to point out the faulty module. Modules on my phone:
-ARCore/Playground Patcher
-EAS compatible PerfBoost FW config for SDM660 <-- (KangarooX kernel requires it)
-MIUI camera v2 MODs for whyred (Redmi Note 5 / pro) MIUI
-Magiskd Helper
-Systemless Hosts
-Youtube Vanced black themed - Magisk repo

I only have installed SDM660 AIO Camera Patch in 9.10.17 EU Miui 11 with Magisk 19.4. I have to try to uninstall Magsik at all to see if it solves.
I have a quick question. As of the moment, the AOD stays for 10 second period on V12.5.5.0.RKOTWXM. There is no way to extend ot schedule it.
Is it the same on V13.0.1.0.SKOTWXM or it has been fixed?
I know that turning off the MIUI optimisation will make it permanent, but I can't attach files to gmail, viber ot whatsapp if the optimisation is off.
Thanks.

You can't in miui 13. But if you want to leave the AOD always on you can flash xiaomi.eu on it.
Here's a screenshot that i took myself.

I have RKOEUXM 12.5.8 and it's the same.
AFAIK, Xiaomi shorthned AOD for all (many?) phones to save battery, it's not specific to 11Lite 5G NE neither to MIUI 12.5 or MIUI 13
I use Magisk module, and it works with MIUI 12.5 but don't know if the module supports MIUI 13:
[MOD][Magisk][MIUI][v1.1]ALWAYS on display for Mi 10 Lite (monet)
Hi there! I made this Magisk module to enable more options to choose with the Always on display on monet and not only the annoying option of "10 seconds after tapping". Did it modifying the "AODSettings.smali" file inside an old AOD apk, where...
forum.xda-developers.com
With the module I have AOD set to be active 7AM - 24PM (screenshots attached)
Otherwise, see for Xiaomi.eu (MIUI 13) in the post above, but it is actually custom ROM (debloated CN), hence it also requires the unlocked Bootloader (like Magisk/root)
As of the moment I am with V12.5.5.0.RKOTWXM and will try with the Magisk module. I have it rooted.
Many thanks for the help. Cheers.

I confirm the v.1.1 of the Magisk module works perfectly with V12.5.5.0.RKOTWXM. The AOD could be always on, off or scheduled. Even the double tap to wake or turn off screen works. Many thanks for the help.
So, what is your solution to this useless 10s on display?
I tried a couple of 3rd party notification Apps but don't like them and there's security concerns.
I think neither 10s nor always is ideal. Notifications should be blinking for a certain period which can be set by user.
Any ideas other than rooting the phone?
For any rom, turning off miui optimization works for AOD to persist but consumes way more battery.
MIUI 13 turns that off. Nowhere to turn off MIUI optimization now.
Hi guys. I post my problem here, if someone could advise me for any solution.
I am using LineageOS 18.1 and i thought to try this module for AOD. Unfortunately, I had bootloops after that. I could pass MI Logo, but after loading the rom it reboots or loading forever.
I tried to delete the magisk modules, restore the original boot image, the saved magisk boot image that I had made, without luck. Moreover, I tried to dirty flash the rom, but it gets stuck on 47% and fail.
Also tried to pull files using adb, but it shows that the sdcard is empty. I believe that it happens due to encryption.
As I said, any advice would be welcome. The only thing that I need is to backup a few important files for me and then format everything.
Thank you.

have you been able t fix it?
Hello, guys! I have a question for you; I hope you could help me out with this, I've been looking over the web and couldn't find anything.
First some background.
Right after I bought my POCO F3, I unlocked the bootloader and flashed the xiaomi.eu rom, I stayed there for months, but then I wanted to try some AOSP ROMs, so I flashed crDroid, it wasn't what I was looking for, so I switched to Pixel Experience, I was pretty happy with it but some banking apps didn't work even with Magisk and zygisk and all that stuff, so I tried to flash Pixel OS but their recovery didn't work for me, my last shot was Lineage OS, but it was similar to crDroid, long story short, I decided to go back to MIUI global.
I used the official MiFlash tool and flashed the latest release of MIUI global stable through fastboot.
My concern is the following, after flashing the original rom through fastboot with the option "clean_all" is the phone stays the same as before flashing all that stuff? If not, what should I do?
Somehow I feel like there is a huge mess in the internal memory and I just want to make sure that everything is formatted, cleaned and original, like it never had any custom rom installed before.
If you chose clean all it will be like Brandon new, take note if you leave the bootloader un locked it will not pass google play store of certification, how lame right ,they want you to lock the bootloader, that's why I chose Arrow

I didn't now that, I just installed safetynet test and it fails the CTS profile match
Can I just lock the bootloader again to go back to normal? I don't plan to keep messing around with custom roms again

Thanks bro, I'll do that
You don't need to lock the BL.
Get Magisk, enable Zygisk, and use the Magisk Module "SafetyNet Fix" from GitHub. The Module did the job for me.
Might also work on Pixel Experience. ^^
I'm currently just using Stock MIUI 13.

I already did that in pixel experience, but there was just one banking app that didn't want to work no matter what I try. I really wanted to stay in pixel experience but now that I'm back in MIUI 13 with poco launcher 4 it's not that bad either, at least I have Dolby Atmos, HDR and all that stuff.

Yeah because of Dolby Atmos and MIUI Camera I'm also staying on MIUI. ^^
BTW, just to really make sure, you used Magisk Module "SafetyNet Fix" on Pixel Experience, yes?
You can try deleting the folder "TWRP" if existent (some apps check for that folder, e.g. Mario Kart). You can also try hiding Magisk App (apps also check for that app).

if you want the goodies of MIUI but also to pass safetynet without issues i suggest you to try "xiaomi eu"
they are based on the chinese rom which is ahead in terms of features and bugfixes (specially the beta) and have some optimizations to make the experience better

Tried it.. it's oky... I like Google System Apps more. Call Recording Feature was nice. :v
But unfortunately, GSI's didn't work/boot with Xiaomi.eu (Generic System Images). I like to be able to use GSI's, to try out other new OSes from time to time, Dual Boot sorta. ^^
