Hello everyone,
I got the following problem:
When I tap on a text box, it opens my keyboard.
But the first letter is only in a few apps an uppercase (e.g. Whatsapp or SMS), altough I checked "Capitalize first letter" in the keyboard settings.
In the most other apps (e.g. Google seach, Youtube, calendar, eMail) the keyboard opens with lowercase letters.
I got the problem with different smartphones (Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung Galaxy S5, Samsung Galaxy A5).
I got the Problem with different keyboard Apps (AOSP Android-Tastatur, SwiftKey, Gboard).
On every smartphone is the custom ROM Lineage OS 14.1 installed.
With the stock ROM I haven't got this problem.
I hope you guys can help me with that.
Kind regards
Is there any workaround for my problem?

I have a Galaxy nexus 4.2 LTE I have flashed the font packs, used apps, and even downloaded the addon dictionary. For some reason barley any emojis work on my phone. My phone will show random symbols for some and nothing for most. For example i made my instagram bio all random emojis a few months ago. When i look at it i see this (check attachment). What can i do to see emoji's systemwide?
BUMP!
Hey guys! I have a question about the LG keyboard. It only remembers and suggests words for certain apps or webpages.
Is there any way i can get it to remember text from all apps and web content.
As i previously had a note 3 and that remembered and suggested text from any app or website.
Or is there a way to port the samsung keyboard on LG G3?
Thanks
Anyone got the Stock Lollipop dialer and contacts working with the 551 that come with Nexus devices or CM?
I have ripped GoodleDialler and GoogleContacts apk from my old Galaxy S4 Google edition rom and made a flashable zip.
Flashed it in recovery and than froze default Asus Dialler.
Seems to be working, but its bit weird.
When you open dialler it's minimized (you can see strange recent calls log screen). At the bottom there are minimised Speed Dial , Recent and Contact Tabs. I need to swipe up to see them
Also when searching contacts the Google id search thingy is not working (like you type pizza and it should find closes pizzas places based on your location...)
And contacts photos are not right - first 30% of photo is ok than its distorted.
I have received and made phone calls fine.
I am having this odd and annoying issue where Google Keyboard on my vs985 (LGG3) running cm13 does NOT display the new Unicode emoji, but the aosp keyboard on cm13 DOES display them.
Google Keyboard on my nexus 7 and my friends nexus 6 both have all the new Unicode 8 emoji.
Does anybody else have this issue?
Any help or ideas would be appreciated!

I have the same issue on my Galaxy S4 running CM13 with Google Keyboard, I haven't tried the AOSP Keyboard yet, but i think the new emojis would be there. However, i can see the emojis from Unicode 8 in apps like instagram. I think Google has to deliver an update for its Keyboard app to unlock the emojis.

Got the Update over the Play Store with the new emojis!
Hi all,
New to the forum, so be gentle!
I just unpacked and configured my new S9+. One issue is that the Icon Frames-Icons only option only works with particular apps (this was not an issue with the S8). Specifically, I notice that certain apps (Google Voice, Google Calendar, Gmail) all have that ugly white border around them. I scoured the internet and couldn't find a fix. Does anyone have guidance on how to remove these borders? Thanks in advance!
Coming from the S7, I noticed the same issue: some icons are displayed as the setting imply, others are not. I didn't have this problem on my S7: all icons were borderless. I tried turning the setting on/off, restarting the phone with no success. It must be the themes app.
It is not the themes app and restarting the phone won't work.
This is a feature of Oreo. Most icons now follow certain design guides for symmetry including all google apps.
It might be so, but not all Google apps follow this new "feature" of Oreo. For example: Maps, Docs, Slides, Hangouts, Translate don't have the border.
Thanks, all. Is the only way to adjust the appearance to use something like Nova Launcher?
I'm seeing the same issue coming from a S7, doesn't look like my wife's S8 has the problem either.
I noticed this too, how can I restore the default icons, I was messing with the themes and lost them?
