Hi everyone,
I am considering a purchase of the Nokia 6.1 from eGlobalCentral.eu in the link:
https://www.eglobalcentral.eu/nokia-6-2018-4gb-64gb-black.html
It is explicitly advertised as the model TA-1068, which should be the international version with 64gb of storage and 4gb of RAM and Android One which is a good deal considering the price. I am wondering if anyone here in the forums has purchased the phone from eGlobal and can confirm that he or she received a TA-1068 model since the site is based in China. Also if there were any problems during shipping, additional taxes upon receiving the package and so on?
I am asking because of their Product information policy which literally says that one cannot trust the description of the products at 100%
11. Product Information
11.1 While we attempt to ensure the product information shown on our website is accurate, we do not that guarantee product description or other content on our website is 100% accurate, current or error free.
11.2 There may be a small difference occur in the packaging or on the material in comparison to the website.
11.3 All information about the products on the website is provided for informational purpose only. We recommend you not to rely solely on the information displayed on our website
11.4 If you recieve a product from eGlobal Central and find it is not as described, your sole remedy is to return it an unused condition in accordance to our Cancellation and Return Policy.
All this makes me believe it is highly likely that one can receive the Chinese variant (TA-1054) since it also has 64gb/4gb storage....I know it should be possible to return the device if this happens but I would like to avoid all this if possible.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
May you all have a nice day!
I bought a Moto there a few weeks ago, the website said "all products send from England", which is not true - the parcel came from China (and wrong AC adapter). Moto works, but they lie about their origin and support is awful. I never will buy there again nor recommend them, but decide for yourself!
I bought my 6.1 from eGlobal having also bought my previous phone from them. Both phones arrived in about a week (I'm in Ireland) and I didn't have to pay any customs charges so no complaints. Really happy with the 6.1 and it was the best price I saw anywhere (though the following week they had the 6.1+ for nearly the same price).
Phone is indeed the 64/4 international version:

Bought the phone
Hi all,
I decided to buy the phone at the end. It is indeed the TA-1068 variant and it came to Denmark in exactly 8 days. No import fees of any sort, tracking was fine and the order was processed quickly. This is my first purchase from eGlobalCentral and I can say that I got pretty concerned after I placed the order because the site has quite a few negative reviews out there. Considering the price I think it's a deal breaker.

Hi,
I am currently travelling at Hongkong, here in Mongkok district of Hongkong, there are hundreds of shops selling mobile phones at 'quite cheap' prices.
I just bought a HTC desire, it was sealed with plastic, and the storekeeper said that it was a HTC desire with HK warranty. For HKD 4100.
I wanted to buy 2 units, one for my sister. But the store only has 1. So I went to a store next door, and the storekeeper said what I just bought must have been a 'refurbished' one. He said the normal price in HK should be around HKD4250 - HKD4300.
Question is, Are there really any method to check whether this new phone I just bought isn't a refurbished one? or a second hand sold as a new unit ? seeing me as a foreigner, they would think I am easier to trick.
Blackberry units, at least, has its own call/data meter, which is unresettable, so I could easily know whether the unit was new or not..
here is the photo of the phone in the store

if you take the back cover off there are two screws at the top right and bottom right that should have "Void" stickers on... not sure if there is anything else you can check, software is guarenteed to be reset, maybe check for signs of wear on the screws while your there..
from what I heard, the store would go as far as replacing a new outer case for it.
I didn't see any signs of wear on the screws though...
Are there really no method by software to know whether this phone has ever been used before (call/data) ?
if there is no way of telling, whats that point in finding out?

because there is no way of telling just by looking from the cases and screws, now I am asking whether there are methods to find out by software/system ? something like a call/data meter which is un-reset-able. are there any?
I have been in Hong Kong last week myself and bought my Desire there.
The best price that was offered to me was at Tsim Sha Tsui at a shop right opposite of the mosque in a corner store on Nathan street. They asked for 3500 HK$ and I could bargain them down to 3100. After I agreed they told me they would need to unlock the phone and I should not make any updates afterwards. I did not like that and got my money back right away. They explained to me that these cheap offers are imports from the US. They need to unlock them since they are branded, that is why they are that cheap.
For 4100 you should get a regular unbranded and unlocked phone.
If you're unsure, as was I, go to Fortress - they might be a bit more expensive (I paid 4450 HK$) but you get a proper guarantee plus an 8 GB memory card add-on and they put on a display protection right in the store. Not to forget the good feeling about having avoided to be fooled ... ;-)
One thing that just popped up in my mind:
Why don't you just call HTC support and ask them? I called them course I had some questions and they registered me as a customer. They would immediately be able to tell where the phone comes from and how old it is - or if the IMEI is a fake. You could even tell them a fa- ehm I mean they do not check if your name is really your name...
MS has just launched WP7 in Thailand with the HD7 and it has already sold out.

"Really!"
Depends if its sold out because of lack of stock, like what happened with the Euro launch. Not really worth mentioning unless the number of units sold is known.

actually it still shows demand is higher than expectation, regardless of the figures this is still a good sign. MS is putting in this much work on something they expected to have low initial sales shows they are looking at a longer picture. I still firmly believe that this first batch of devices is just a soft launch and we will soon see the real push once MS has patched the holes that are being used to attack them. I think MS are doing a great job with the software and if they can get the right push then the sales will show reward for there effort. I don't think it will be to long before we see stands in shopping centres demoing phones and pushing the brand but MS will want everything in place first.
I am one of Thai who rushed to buy HD7 on the first day it launched.
It seems like a good news that HD7 has been sold out. Anyway, what I know is that only 500 units are coming into Thailand, just to test the market.
Many people delay their decisions to buy WP7 as there is no Thai (also east Asian language) support. WP7 now cannot display Thai language. Thai can be typed via the third party application that allows posting only to SMS, e-mail, facebook status, and foursquare shout.
Also, we cannot buy any applications from marketplace as it has not yet supported Thailand.
It sounds strange why MS has chosen to launch its product in Thailand without Thai language support. I'm quite sure that East Asian language support is still not yet to come in this coming minor update in February.

Data showed that Honor 7X exceeded Xiaomi and One plus becoming Amazon’s best seller in India on Christmas day.

Seems Honor smartphone has become the favorite Christmas & New Year’s gift choice in India.
Is Honor really taking a leap in the smartphone performance? What do you guys think?
Because I’m planning to get a new Honor phone myself.
Its already ahead as you can see, people are just skeptical since there is no development and everybody is waiting for oreo.
apart from that the phone has got good potential and the quality is impeccable for that price point.

I can wholeheartedly recommend this device. I am not the kind who likes to spend a kidney on a new phone. $200 is right in the sweet spot for me. I have the Honor 7X (also in the US), you can ask me anything you wish about it. I bought straight from Honor because it was just a shy more than $200 with the Honor discount. Just wait though; I bet it will show up on Amazon.
hve tmobile, read my sim card will slide right in.

I agree that it's looking like Amazon will sell the 7x everywhere but the US. I'm wondering what promises Huawei made to AT&T to get it to carry the Mate 10 Pro. Unfortunately, I don't think carrier support will help Huawei enter the US market this late in the game. They lost their opportunity by dragging their feet; market penetration has slowed down sales. I'm not going to buy any brand of phone locked to a carrier. I'm a little leery of the battery life of the 7x as well as whether it really will get Oreo in the US; I will sit back and wait for some real life feedback from owners on performance and issues. I really think the Honor V10 looks better at half the price of the Huawei Mate 10, but I'm wondering if Huawei will only sell it in the US via AT&T.
Well, considering how well built this phone and its price, no wonder it's the best seller
Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Pitaka Aramid/Kevlar Thin & Minimal Case [Pre-Order Discount]
Probably the best case ever, for me i have to get it whenever i get any new devices, i got it for my pixel 2 xl, s8, s9+, Note 8, iPhone 7 plus, iPhone X & iPhone Xs Max.
and i have never change to any other brands. Right now it's a good time to get the case because of the pre-order discount as it's on the pricey side. Definitely must have for thin case lovers, one of the thinnest out there but build with quality.

I pre ordered mine while I was on the phone ordering my Note 10+.
I completely agree it's got to be the best thin fit case there is, even though it's a little pricey. It's not made for protection, but that's not what I'm looking for. I have one on my S10+ right now.
Nice great mind thinks alike
Good customer service. Messed up my order, they fixed and very friendly.
waiting for them to add more colors
Used your discount code and placed an order. Looks like shipping is a bit out though cause they said they will ship 15 days after the official delivery of the phone. Guess they are waiting to get to test the case on the real phones perhaps before they send them out to customers.
Yeah most likely that’s the case.
Previously that had alignment issues with the mic cut on during pixel 2 xl better slightly late than deliver early and dealing with returns cancelations
Still waiting for mine to arrive. I pre-ordered early August... Farking useless. I'll never buy from them again

It's worth the wait! Trust me, I've used their cases on all of my phones and it's well worth it.
I actually just got my shipping information today for delivery on Monday

Good for you. They were supposed to ship from their Australian warehouse, instead sent snail mail out of China
Useless company, terrible communication, poor customer service. Paypal dispute raised.

I have a genuine question (no, I'm not the amazon seller in camouflage ) about buying a HD1900 variant Oneplus 7T
FWI This is the Chinese version of the phone, probably sold/ sourced in HK and imported.
For me in the UK it's available at a stonking discount here
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Oneplus-Unlocked-Smartphone-HD1900-Inches/dp/B07ZKDPSVN/
400 GBP
My simple question is: Surely somebody else on the XDA has bought such a device? Can you report if there are any obvious problems or gotchas?
Things like:
- Which ROM is installed & is it a EURO one with the Google Play Store fully installed
- Both SIM card slots work on 4G UK networks
- It can be rooted and unlocked as normal
- I suppose mainly , once an International ROM is installed it is in every way the same as a regular European version phone (well except that the warranty would come only from the amazon seller, and means they have to stay in business!)
Anybody?
(NB: I saw the post on the person who bought a French version of this phone, but nothing for the UK variant?)
I have the Chinese HD1900 variant. It comes with Hydrogen OS but you can install Oxygen OS international very easily.
Supported 4G-LTE bands:
FDD-LTE:B1,2,3,4,5,7,8,12,13,17,18,19,20,26,28,29
TDD-LTE:B34,38,39,40,41
3G/2G:
TDSCDMA:B34,B39
UMTS(WCDMA):B1,2,4,5,8,9,19
CDMA:BC0,BC1
GSM:B2,3,5,8
^^Volte works?
VoLTE works fine on HD1900 here in the States.
It won't come with a UK 3 pin charger and I guess you won't be covered by any manufacturer warranty

It kinda sucks. Lags a bit. Cannot root. Compared to my ancient Oneplus One, the HD1900 is slightly better but not a huge improvement.

It's more between 5 and 6 weeks. 6 weeks for each of my 2 OnePlus 7T (Aliexpress and Gearbest).

??? This phone can be rooted and it works pretty well. Learn how to do it without TWRP it's not that difficult. I still have my Onplus One and comparison it is just a no brainer, don't say BS. Even this morning I took photos with both phones in same situation to compare, the OnePlus 7T is really better. I'm feeling I'm trying to answer to a troll here?!

You're probably right, I took the bait...
I ordered 2 of these (HD1900 256Gb model) from Ali Express when they had their sale on 11.11. I was lucky as despite the number they sold they shipped it within 8 days and 9 days later I received it in the UK (17 days from order, from China so not bad). Some recent orders have been taking longer I heard, so it's a bit of pot luck really.
The phones are great. The seller open the box and flash Oxygen OS (Global Version) on the phone prior to shipping it as it originally comes with Hydrogen OS being for the Chinese market. Comes with the chinese plug and a UK adapter, or other if different country. I did a factory reset before setting up the phone. If you want to convert it to EU, then just use Oxygen Updater from Play Store and flash the appropriate ROM. Very simple to do.
I'm guessing the one you are looking at on Amazon is not any different, but you'll at least get the Amazon cover if anything goes wrong. Warranty of course will be with China so forget about it. I have got phone insurance so I just rely on that.
Ordered my HD1900 256GB silver on eBay for £369 (with 5% eBay discount)
Took a while to come but I couldn't be any happier. I also had the 7t pro McLaren edition but I favoured this flat screen and sold the McLaren edition.
Love this phone its so sleek, fast, a good all round phone. Ive had no problems at all.
It came sealed with oxygen os installed already with an update out the box on mine so I was very surprised.
