How is the photo quality after flashing lineagos. Is it much worsened?
If you use the same camera apps on both roms it will be the dame, if you use ROMs with a kernel that allow the use of csm2api, your photos eill be ****
I would like to go stock lineageos without google - just f-droid.
Photo and video quality are the same.
I use HedgeCam 2 for taking my photos and it's got many more features than the stock camera app.

Hy everybody,
I can't bear Sense any longer (multitasking is crap, everything is full of scam etc...)
Tried out some AOSP rom's and you can't come back, even for the cam...
So here is my question, is there a camera app out there with the same features ? (taking pics during filming, rapid burst shots to select the best one)
Thank you very much

I don't really think there is a camera that has any of the advanced features of the Sense camera. The Sense camera was built for the camera in this phone, so it can utilize all the features. Camera Zoom FX has some effects, I hear people like lgcamera too.
I know what you mean though. I'd love a non-Sense ROM, but I don't want to give up the camera. The camera is a very important part of the phone to me.
There are ROMs that are mostly AOSP while retaining some parts of the Sense framework.
JDR0iD_eXoDiZeD is one example, and it has the Sense camera app.
The only problem with most of these camera apps is that they produce images with too much noise (at least on the HOX).
Camera ICS + is good for pics.
Nothing beats LGCamera as far as recording videos is concerned.

I have:
- ICS+ camera (for pictures and video)
- LG Camera (for pictures and very good for video)
- Camera FV-5 (for picture with advanced/professional settings)
- Shot Control (for picture with advanced/professional settings)
- Pro Capture (for picture with lot of settings and burst mode)
Hey guys!
I recently bought the Z1 Compact, mainly for the camera and the small size.
Now, I have been going through some content on the web and have come across people reporting against Sony's compression strategy which basically comes to play in the Superior Auto mode in its own camera app (which it does while upsampling or whevever).
Now, I also see some other camera apps on the market like Google's own camera app and Flickr's app and would like to know if there's any difference in image quality between them.
Also, what's the best 'strategy' to take pictures with this phone.. take 8 MP in Superior Auto mode or take full-resolution shots and then compress them via some software on the computer?? (and if yes, which software and how?).
Also, will I see any difference in the camera performance if I install Cyanogenmod on my device. If yes, what sort?
Waiting to hear back
Cheers!
Use hd camera pro an camera 360 ultimate

You will see a difference, as CM (and every other AOSP ROM) doesn't have the fine-tuned camera drivers Sony uses. So image quality will be lower.
I use Google Camera for the panorama/photosphere functionalities, and Sony's camera for everything else. On Xposed there is a mod that changes the Superior Auto resolution to the max resolution, you could try that.
Hi,
I am using a custom rom (a fairly recent CM 12.1 nightly) on my Z1C. As often mentioned, the default Camera App (as well as the Google Camera app) produce rather bad pictures, especially in the dark.
I am looking for some replacement app (free or not). There are plenty of them, and I am looking for some recommendations. I am especially interested in the following points:
- Noise reduction in the dark
- Possibility to save pictures to an external SD card
- Convenient panorama feature
- Manual settings
- ...
Thank you very much!
PS: I am aware of the possibility to port the Z4 Camera App, but I am looking for some more out-of-the-box solution...
Camera FV-5 and A better camera are your best options for any phone , just don't expect miracles on the Z1c. The lack of Camera api 2 support from Sony will make diferences marginal between any camera apps.
open Camera is an acceptable alternative, but I guess the main differences are firmware/Os related
If photos quality is a top priority for you, you are better off going back to srock and restoring camera features (and other drm stuff) on this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/cro...evices-drm-t2930672/post60772411#post60772411
Camera in cm is ****. The difference is as clear as day and night.
Ok, thanks everybody for your answers!
I'm totally happy with Camera MX 3.0 - can't beat the price!

Hi there.
Anyone know of a guide for the optimal configuration of SNAP camera for the LG G3?
Thx
I just use the default settings, sometimes i change the exposure or contrast but overall i enjoy the pictures taken with Snap camera. Although I do find the HDR a bit too slow and the Snap gallery is rather a feature I never use.
I've used Snap camera as my main camera app on various roms (AICP, cm, euphoria,...) and performance is equal on every rom. It's a decent replacement for the lg camera on aosp roms but the stock camera and image processing stays the best option for taking pictures on the G3

Cool. Thx for the info. I'm not a photography nut, but wanted to configure it as best possible. AOSP features mean more to me than photo quality. I'm happy with SNAPs quality overall. Just wanted to see if I had it correctly configured.
Does picture quality take a hit on custom ROMs such as Lineage, DU, AOKP, etc.? The reason I ask is it seems like I remember reading that some of the software tricks that google uses to improve pictures is proprietary to the Pixel phones software so it is not in AOSP builds? Is that accurate or bologna?
If you use the ROM's stock camera then yes, but you can always install camera apps based on the Google Camera apk such as Camera NX.
