Hey guys, many of you will know that most games you play lack in FPS, most commonly in NFS most wanted or real racing 3, heck ive even see people say Temple run lags.
Some people say, Developers need to make the games work with the 16 core GPU as its not that common.
I looked it up, and it turns out that even though its a 16 core GPU it isnt even nearly as good as the Adreno 320 found in the nexus 4, Xperia Z etc and that the CPU Isnt as good as last years processors ( SD S4 Pro, Nvidia Quad core Tegra 3 )
to be fair I already knew that the Processor wasnt that good, but for anyone who says that their games arent running well its because of that.
I have to give a hand to Huawei though, in there recent firmware updates the benchmark scores have been getting higher, which is great meaning the processor, RAM and GPU are all working a little bit better then they were before.
Im just curious as to how long they can keep updating it to be better, it wont take long until mainstream games require a minimum of the equivalent of the Adreno 330.
Ive also read that the Huawei Ascend P6 + is it? The phablet version will have a better processor clocked at 1.6ghz and maybe a better GPU?
Anyone got any more info? or do games run well enough for you not to care?
Let me know

The gaming performance is mixed. See this video: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=HH8LskTQQWA
As you can see, some high graphics demanding games work well while others not. I don't game on mobile so didn't try any gaming except two days ago with Shadowgun: deadzone. I use B118. While on the video above, it only complains about glitches on panning, but for me oddly the whole graphics was corrupted and unplayable. Maybe someone with B117 or B116 Roms could check if shadowgun works better.
But I still doubt its a problem with the processor. Because the benchmarks are close to the Nexus 4 and S3. I doubt also there are any games made that would not be compatible with those devices and hence if it can work on that, it should work on the P6. It would take another year atleast before game developers plan to ignore Nexus 4 and Samsung S3.** Hence problem seems to come down to optimization.* (Also, with the shadowgun updating itself a week ago, they have officially said that the new update has problem with all Samsungs devices cause of its GPU and they would come with a fix. This could be the same issue with P6 that these games haven't been made to optimize for Vivante GC 4000.)
Furthermore, I also think that the unique abilities of the Huawei like the 64bit memory etc are not being taken advantage off because of other processors lacking it.
As for news on K3V3 and K3V2 Pro processor and the new P6S, see:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2487791
It's not a good gpu, never has been, it is not optimized for almost anything, because there are only 2 phones that use this gpu. The cpu isnt that fast either. A Nexus 4 (Which costs as much as P6) is way better in performance, support, user customisations, stock rom etc.

The nexus 4 is almost half the price at £159 for the 8gb and the huawei ascend P6 retails at £329 ( although its gone down from £329 too £309 to £279 )
The nexus 4 seems like the better option, ive had one, they're quick, good looking but the battery sucks and so does the camera.
Honestly, the only reason i want a P6 is the amazing build, i want a metal phone so badly ! and apparently the camera isnt half bad
Optimization seems to be the problem. Agreed. But can it be solved by firmware updates ? Or is it totally dependent on game developers ? Android 4.4 brings better optimizations including for games supposedly. So that would be one option im looking forward too. So if android is better optimized maybe soon the super power processors would get tough to differentiate on usage performance and would become less important.
If the GPU is inherently bad, then how can the likes of real racing 3, asphalt 8, modern warfare 4 work perfectly fine on it ?

I just played Asphalt 7 on the P6...lagging in menu's and in gameplay...
Engineers at HUAWEI screwed up a bit when chosing the GPU for otherwise pretty nice chip. While the GPU has an ok performance, since its olny present on very few devices, devs aren't showing much love. This is understandable, because I can see why devs wouldn't want to spend resources on optimizing their app for a GPU noone really has.
Since I don't use my device for gaming, I'm quite satisfied with my purchase.

Shadowgun: Deadzone works like this on my B118.
Any idea why the green man walking in screen happens ? I get in black too. And odd part is that i have seen users getting this problem when they play temple run even though there are other users including online reviews that find temple run working very smooth and fluid.

i have the solution delete cache of the game this is because the game try to save textures in sd card or something like that
Hi, lags in games are because Huawei runs a QEMU'd "Android Emulator" called Goldfish. Its same emulator as used by Android SDK on our computers
They also patched the Kernel for avoid flickering. Witch is needed if using real GPU in Goldfish.
Both in that mix are Horrorful for whole system Performance.
U can see this really bad on Benchmarks and heavy 3D Games.
GPU is faster as Tegra 3 (May about 30%) belive it or not

Yea must say im disappointed with GPU power on my P6 :/. My old SII is better in games :/
Is it really? I have no problem with graphics on it. If I want to play a game I generally use my PC. The P6 plays the little games perfectly.
Even Qualcomms new mid range 1.4ghz quad core processor is getting better antutu scores
http://androidcommunity.com/qualcom...rocessor-aimed-at-mid-range-devices-20131101/
I hope trace is right in that the kernal and so on are messed up by Huawei and hence the Huawei processors underperforming than what it really can. But more than games im actually looking out for the processor doing something special using up its unique capabilities like 64bit memory, more cores, and so on. Thereby allowing features like touchless control and advanced programming capabilities, better user interface performance and better battery management. Phones like Moto x and iPhones seem to perform much advanced even though they don't carry the highest end specs. And I would like such smart performance.

Nice.
P6 has 64bit Memory Hardware, but its scaled down to 32bits while processing cause Java cant use
Phone Hardware is a beast even if GPU based on Adreno200. This is 16Core, orginal Adreno200 is 1-2Core.
Dual sim version
Is huawei ascend P6 dual sim version released???
This GPU is really good in physics, better then my wifes optimus g with adreno 320. And if u run YouiLabs Shader Test, adreno wont even start the BALL test. Looks like adreno cant handle it. So this gpu seems be great in shaders and physics.
Hey everyone I'm a newbie in chinese smartphones cuz I haven't use one before , I'm actually on LG G4 and I want to switch to another smartphone !!
My Budget is 400$ Maximum !!
after many searches I've found 4 devices in that price range ,what I really want of my next future smartphone ,is to be an upgrade over My lg G4 camera and more performance.
My priorities are , Performance and longevity !! , good Camera , Solid build (Durability) , and Battery.
But I also want a good and Sharp display, good loudspeakers !!For Multimedia
I know that this is a lot to expect from a 400$ smartphone but I just want the best bang for bucks not that Perfect as flagships!!
I've found myself stuck with Oneplus 3 , Xiaomi Mi 5s, Honor 8 , Axon 7 and Zenfone 3 !!
it's very difficult for me to choose please help me , if there is another smartphone that you consider better please tell me !!
Best Regards,
Youssef
I can simply say that the Oneplus 3 is the fastest phone in multi-tasking in this row. I'm not sure but I do recommend you writing down what's important and watch alot of YouTube videos about all of the phones, overall in performance the Honor 8 with EMUI is the worst.

Thanks man for your answer , I appreciate , But I've seen in some reviews that the Honor 8 performs well than the other smartphone I listed before ,especially in oppening apps and multitasking, But I haven't seen any gaming reviews of this smartphone compared to others but I guess that it might get some stutter , lags or some fps drops because of the low antutu and 3dMark benchmarks .
So what's important for me , is smoothness in day to day tasks , like browsing , social media(facebook,twitter,snapchat...) ,watching videos in youtube , listening to music via both headphones and loudspeakers, and playing some games in time to time( I'm not a heavy gamer). But I would expect also getting a good battery at least one whole day (4.5 hours or more SOT) .
But i would consider Also a good camera , I don't care about low light photos or video recording all I want is best daylight stills for social media sharing.
I know this is so difficult , becuz every smartphone excels in something .
PS:I fortgot to mention a good build(solid) not fragile, and a good display.

You won't have a problem with multitasking on this phone, 6GB of ram and a bloody fast soc. Main reason I think that the Honor 8 peforms bad is because of the heavy UI it has. I have friends with Huawei p9s that starts lagging over time as cache piles up. If multitasking is the main priority the onepkus will score the bestm

OP3 is clear winner. Most important thing - software is where it shines. Also, hardware and build quality is premium.
I have lg g5 and im very satisfied with it!Especially with nougat this thing flies.how is oneplus 3 camera compared to g5's(video-photos)?
Do you recommend me op3 over g5?thank you!
I'll go for axon 7 if you can get pass the horrible lockscreen or maybe there already is a way to bypass it.
Performance-You really can't tell the 6 and 4gb ram apart unless you run like 12 apps at the same time, both will perform the same on gaming use, unless you want more bragging rights like most of the community here. or import the china 6gb ver if you can get it.
Longevity- op3 wins on software as even no official updates, xda will continue on. Hardware wise, ditto I only has mine for 5 months. BUT zte promises a far better warranty deal, especially how renown op is with customer service.
Multimedia-The axon screen is really better to me, no colour shift when watching the screen sideways and if you game and concentrate hard, you'll see the 2k vs 1080 difference. But it's not really a dramatic difference.
Sound-Whatever super dac on the axon will NOT blow your mind. I can't say for all but it's not the same feeling like changing a 10 to 100bucks headphone to me. You can't tell the difference unless you a audiophile. HOWEVER, the stereo does. no more hand cover up, immersive gaming, no more turning up the vol just to hear what the character says, etc.
Do note I'm comparing axon and op3 only as I only has these. The camera, battery etc depends on your usage.
I think you should add more factors for consideration, link unlocking bootloader/root/rescue, choices of custom roms, active of community, etc...
So i have been using my ROGPHONE 2 (12/512) for almost 1 month now. Getting ready for Diablo Immortal to launch(been 2 years and still not launched) Played CODM, Ragnarok M, Temple Run 2, PVZ 2, NFS, Asphalt, Jurassic World and the list goes on.
And recently i bought a $200 Nintendo Switch Lite for the sake of Diablo 3 Eternal Collection and for the sake its only $200.Im a huge Diablo fanboy. And turns out "Console" is still better than "Smartphones".
My point is whats with this Gaming Phone Hype? Best benchmark bla bla bla. My ROGPHONE 2 at times stutter while playing games. Whereas my Switch Lite dont.
Yes i know its better to have 1 device which can do all rather than have multiple devices. But the differences is outrageous. How can a $200 Console do better than a $900 "Gaming" Smartphone?
*im not mentioning the games available for console vs mobile*
Dedicated gaming consoles with built in fan are very different from mobile phones with gaming features. The first one usually does better at gaming. It is supposed to. It is the only thing that it is made for with all devs focusing on just one hardware. On mobile phones however, you have hundreds of different hardwares with limited thermal envelope. I'd be very interested to see a gaming video comparison between your note 10+, rog 2 and P30 pro..

Between those 3. And lets say CODM. The best is ROGPHONE 2. Why? Because no notch. Yes i can hide the notch but the area near the notch is very unresponsive. I have made many threads about this in AC forums.
But the ROGPHONE 2 section there is dead. That's why im here xD
yes i agree with you. i dont know whats this hype is all about. my main reason why i bought this phone is the battery. and i already knew that mobile gaming sucks. all high end phone sucks at certain point when you play at high settings and its better to buy gaming PC or consoles if you are really on gaming.

Thank you for not bashing me. I mean even with 1 game installed. It still wouldnt do as good as consoles. People be boasting stuff like BEST GAMING PHONE and so on but its not even gaming... I know i can buy those add ons to have buttons but its gonna cost even way more.
And i know its a smartphone. Supposed to make multiple devices become 1. But i personally have a device for every need. Like an A&K for music, PS4 for games,Mirrorless Camera for photos, Laptop for work and so on.
And not to mention the amount of cash needed to be powerful in mobile games. Pro Non Casher will always lose to Noob Casher. But on consoles its different.
And yes this phone has crazy battery life. Haha. With no games installed I could easily get 2 days of normal usage.

Hi guys, I can relate to everything you said and was also thinking about the switch. But as I bought this phone for 500$ it was a no brainier.
The sad state of gaming in Android is not a hardware issue but bad Android OS api implementation. This is supposedly handled in new vulkan api. But the worst problem is the crap state of content, with virtually all games adopting freemium models which kill all games. For some reason people expect to get things for free on mobile and don't want to pay for good games so companies delivered free crap which makes you pay to play. 5,6 years ago there were plenty of good premium games, now they are rare. I'm actually now checking game streaming services.

It's all semantics.
Let's grade all the available gaming phones. Is ROG 2 the best among them? If yes then it's obviously the best gaming phone!
Now back to your comparison of gaming phones against dedicated gaming devices and consoles.
That's an unfair and improper way of comparing them. Cos one set of devices is specialised in executing only a single task (playing games) while the other set countless tasks (calls, sms, email, photography, multimedia, data storage, web activity, gaming, navigation, health,l and a ton of other things ranging from controlling your smart home & CCTVs to being used for penetration testing etc).
Maybe that's one of the key factors ??*

The games being laggy is the issue of Android itself and not ASUS. ASUS has literally delivered the best gaming "phone" till date. No other "phone" beats it in gaming.

Why are we even comparing a mobile device vs a dedicated gaming console in the 1st place ? ?

Maybe the issue is with that game bro, not the phone. Are you using the cooler? If the phone gets too hot then it will throttle both CPU and GPU then gaming performance will decrease for sure, there's no way around that. That's how devices with passive cooling work. But if the phone remains cool then there's no reason for the game to stutter as SD855+ is powerful enough to run any game in the playstore. Unless the game itself is poorly optimized, which is not a sign of a quality triple A game, as it should run fine on much weaker hardware..

Games on iOS are usually better optimized. Game devs just spend more effort on iOS games because they get more profit from iOS than from Android.
I have a pro max and a rog 2. The pro max will only run heavy games for like 20mins then it will get hot and brightness will go down to 50% or less. That is not a pleasant experience if you're a serious gamer. The iPhone can only hit peak performance for a short time because it is a passively cooled device, despite the powerful hardware.
In short, just use the switch or xbox or Playstation for serious gaming, games are much much more optimized for the hardware there and they are all actively cooled dedicated gaming consoles..

CODM stutters on iOS too - especially with a crappy internet connection. I play CODM on the ROG2, connected to a 5G router and no issues, but when connected to 100mbit HFC broadband connection i get the odd stutter. CODM is smooth 99% of the time for me, so its something beyond the phone thats your issue..
Maybe you should stick to the Nintendo... Sounds like its the only solution for someone like yourself. :good:
Anyone having issues with lag or stutter in game is misidentifying the issue causing the stutter or lag. Or you just can't figure out XMode. This phone is a beast. Thermal throttling isn't an issue. If you're trying to compare a gaming console of any level to a smartphone you probably like to compare apples to oranges too. Why not add gaming PCs to the mix? Understanding the difference in platforms would be a good place to learn why this phone is so amazing, and is cheap for the amount of tech in it, especially when you consider how well it runs heavy games. I can play Classic Matches in PUBG for hours on end and even charge without ever dropping a frame. Show me any other phone in the world besides other 2nd Gen Gaming Phones that can do that.....go ahead, I'll wait..........
Pro Tips: Don't Buy this phone for using as a phone you carry and use as a phone.
Know XMode and set it up for every game.
Use the fan for heavy games, always! (my fan never leaves the phone except for cleaning)
Use the fastest data connection you can for gaming. Lag comes from servers, not this phone. Mobile Data almost always has higher ping than wifi.
If you aren't hyped about this phone you're probably not in to mobile gaming, so why do you even have this phone? Much better phones out there to be just phones. This phone is for playing mobile games.
For reference I played on a Note 9 and an iPhone XS Max before getting this ROG. To say this phone has allowed me to win battles I would have lost on my other phones, would be understating it. This phone is a God at gaming. Can't wait for the ROG 3.

The state of mobile gaming is getting better all the time. Everyone keeps talking about how terrible it is. Yeah so terrible the two biggest games in the history of the world are both mobile games. You can combine all the rest of the gaming platforms and still not get close to the active daily player base of mobile and it's most popular games. So keep being snooty about gaming superiority, and I'll keep laughing all the way to the bank. Mobile is the future of all tech. If you can't, won't, or don't see that then all I can say is have fun stuck in the past. Not everyone can afford computers and consoles and cameras and TVs. But you can get all that in one device that also makes phone calls and most people can afford one, so do the math, it's pretty simple. Player base numbers alone make mobile the superior platform. Those numbers already working to continue to take out PC and Console hardware gaps and limitations. Pushing phones to be capable of more and more. Will phones ever be as capable as something with a large die cast for processors? No. More room is always better. But the gap will be so small some day soon you'll have one game released for all platforms. Wait, that already happened like two years ago. Only a matter of time before they all do.
I sold my XBox One X to convert to mobile gaming all the time. Because I see the future of gaming and mobile tech all colliding and the lines between platforms being blurred in to non existence(Stadia). We've already seen mobile players beat out console and PC players in Fortnite. How bad is mobile gaming really? I think I've read some of the most biased and uneducated opinions here. Which is sad, this is XDA.

To be honest, I couldn't find a worthy contender to get as a daily driver for the last 2 years. I don't really do gaming on it apart from occasional pubg game, or some emulation. BUT the sheer firepower this phone holds bought me, especially screen+battery+3.5mm jack+front stereo speakers. And I know this phone will easily last me another 3-4years of usage (with occasional battery exchange of course). I considered note10+, but lack of 3.5mm jack and no stereo speakers killed it for me (former nexus6 owner). So You can't tell people not to buy this phone as a daily driver, maaaybe if someone works with a lot of dust this phone might not be the best idea, but there is a fix to that too (basically wrap it around -screen with stretch foil for daily usage - no need to make holes for ports, except if you use the 3.5mm jack)
Hey guys , I have a Galaxy S20+ exynos variant ,
And I noticed with using fps counter that all of the games are capped at 60 fps . I precise that those games support 120 Hz and work with other devices in 120 fps like the OP8 pro even in 84 fps in my old Mi 9 with an overclocked screen . I only managed to get subway surfers to work in 120 fps . Are you guys having the same issue or it's just me .
More info :
Screen resolution : FHD+
Screen refresh rate : 120 Hz
Battery setrings : max performance
Currently I as know there are very few games that support 120fps. And even if a game supports that, it is almost impossible for Exynos chip to reach that 120fps, unless it is a very lightweight game like Subway Surfers.

Bro , there are many games supporting 120 fps .
I'm just talking about lightweight games like Alto .
With Mi 9 , I can play 84 fps at any games , even PUBG . Exynos 990 should be more powerful than SD 855

no Exynos 990 is not more powerful when it comes to the GPU.
@Simo4567
try this.
My S20 Ultra exynos variant has been tamed, tweaked and abused, I'm now only 12k points behind the Snapdragon variant on the antutu benchmark, check the top 3, that's my device 3rd down
Thee exynos can and does perform just as well as the Snapdragon, it just needs a bit of fiddling with if you have root, in my eyes it was more fun applying tweaks and getting the device to run the way it does now
So in answer to your question, yes it is possible to obtain 120hz/120fps in all games and apps, root needed though, my FPS doesn't drop at all in heavy games and I also alleviated the overheating without losing the performance, in fact it runs faster than stock and still no overheat
It's taken weeks of testing and trying different things but I made it
Get your phone rooted and we can discuss some more mate, happy to give my understanding of this phone to anyone, might be easier in discord or telegram, give me a shout
Sort of off topic, but is there a good app to tell you the fps your games are running at? Just curious what I'm able to achieve.

samsung does have an fps counter included , just enable GPUwatch in developer options .
Alternatively , you can install perf z and games plugin from galaxy store

Everytime I enable gpuwatch the developer options menu crashes. I can't get back in until I restart the phone and when I try to enable it again, the same thing happens. Not sure why, but figure maybe a third party option wouldn't give me the same hassle.

This is just stupid, I have been running a 7 pro for 4 years, it has been, hands down, one of the best smartphones I ever owned, performance has been great from day 1 to last day and it is still living with a relative of mine, and he is supper happy with it, I have play a lot, like A LOT and it has worked flawlessly every single time.
I got a 9 pro in october past year and it has been a pain in the ass, the poor performance has been annoyingly usual, the only way to play 120FPS in some games is a magisk module intended for a Samsung F62 which I can't figure out why (because I have no knowledge about this) but it makes some game run 120FPS, however performance is really bad, there is frame drops in some points where my couple's nord 2 demolishes with no issue... I can't figure out why a nord 2 outperforms my 9 pro (i know nord 2 is 90Hz but it is much more solid 90FPS being lower tier).
Let me explain, my couple nord 2 remains 90FPS where my 9 pro gets as low as 30FPS, it is noticeable and annoying.
Is there some sort of magisk module or something "comfortable" for newbies which can be enabled or disabled at taste? I don't mind rebooting phone (I do every time i want to play some games with module I mentioned xd)
I did not tinker with kernels (not yet, did in the past with my former LG G2 and Galaxy S3 but it was quite different). I would like to remain in the Oxygen OS path for now too.
I tried lots of things, AI booster for magisk, also Adreno drivers and nothing seems to work, just performance scaling which seems to lower freq in order to improve battery life, but never higher performance (high performance mode in battery settings seems to do nohing, also tried)
Looking for this as well, as well as a module to disable annoying Doze by the SystemUI. I tried a few modules but the devices still dozes.

The links you posted, those articles are not RELEVANT to YOUR issue. The throttling you're experiencing is a thermal throttling behavior that is literally NORMAL and part of EVERY OEM/Phone.
If you're on a STOCK ROM, the only way to somewhat "kill" the default throttling behavior is to disable/freeze the BATTERY package (app) either via Titanium Backup or some other app. That will prevent the phone from throttling based on the SKIN/Battery temperature.
Otherwise, Custom ROMs based on either OOS12 or OOS13 don't have any of that stock OEM throttling behavior.

Is it really thermal throttling? I mean, phone does not get any warmer than usual and for example, Brawl Stars is capped at 60 FPS like most games in BBK phones (but Brawl stars worked 120FPS flawless some time ago, not much, a year ago or so I had a Realme GT Neo 2 which ran games buttersmooth and has basically the same software, color OS, which now has the same issue, games capped to 60 FPS and crap performance)
That is not normal behaviour because Brawl Stars devs claimed the game is fully unlocked and if it works below screen refresh is because of the phone software, that's the "throttling" I mean, don't know if it is because of the famous whitelisting of Oppo.
What I mean is in previous software games worked properly and now performance is a joke (I mention realme GT Neo 2 because is what I could test in the past, I loved it, that's why is a bummer getting a "better phone" which works much worse).

I just want my phone works as it should, I don't care about battery.
Also tried disabling battery app and no difference, same behaviour, I'm in OOS13 latest update.
Maybe I should give a try to custom ROM...

it is because of thermal throttling, literally. The phone doesn't get warmer because it's being limited, hence the point of thermal throttling.
The refresh rate - FPS - in a game depends solely on the devs. If the game has in one device for example support for 120 FPS, and it doesn't have in another device, it's not because of the device but because the developers either didn't "whitelist" that specific device or weren't updated in a longer time.

Hmm...
With the magisk module I mentioned device name changes from LE2123 to SO-52A or something similar, makes also work codm 120 FPS pretty good, much better than brawl stars which is much weaker in terms of graphics quality and detail.
Is there any way to spoof model name to test this? If so devs are lying big time. When launched 9 pro they announced collab with many games, even hypertouch feature which is gone and for what seems now touch sampling rate is just 120Hz from the 360 advertised (monitoring with apps say so).
Also tried to disable battery app and no difference, behaviour is the same.

Disabling the battery app is for the throttling workaround, not to increase the frames in the game that don't support it on your device. lol
Anyways, blame the devs...They're the ones that need to add support for the specific device to go above the XY FPS.
The smartphone wasn't intended to be a gaming device. Chipset and battery not rated for it. Get an Xbox or some similar device for gaming that it was intended for! Just my opinion.
You can test the throttling using a CPU/GPU Throttle Testing app. The OP 9 starts throttling at a low temperature, I can notice FPS dropping in games starting at 38 degrees.
I use a cooling fan attached to my OP to keep the phone at a constant 32 degrees. I also bought a heat dispersion case to help further.
Also using Konabess to undevolt the GPU also helps a bit.

I'm not asking for it to perform in graphic demanding games, I'm telling you even a redmi note 10 pro (that thing is actually not rated for anything) outperforms the 9 pro in light gaming because it is not capped.
Blame the devs, blame OnePlus, I just want to know if there is any solution, I purchased the phone a few months ago and I'm finding stupid behaviours an "allegedly" flagship should not have.
Jeez even my couple Nord 2 is much better in games, that hurts...
And yeah. Get an Xbox blablabla, I do own a PS4, a powerful laptop and a powerful desktop, I just want my stupid phone to do what it should do or at least know why or if it can be solved, this is not r/xbox.
This is an issue many people complain about but OnePlus ever stated anything.
For what I can see my options are getting a cheap 120HZ phone or custom ROM (I saw a blackshark 4 for 200EUR which runs games fine)

The thing is when released the 9 pro, OnePlus brand had collabs with many games, even hypertouch, all of it disappeared into thin air...
That was the main reason for me to purchase, I had a great experience with my former 7 pro and I couldn't even think this could be a thing.
https://twitter.com/i/web/status/1367122914961670156
This thread is of the main dev of the game I'm talking about. He claims the brand has to whitelist app in order to make it work 120HZ/120FPS.
Is there no way to modify that "whitelist"? I've read sometimes about this but rarely found anything (anything users can do about it lmao) and we all know how lazy oppo is with this things, there can be a thousand posts in OnePlus community ther will never answer.

This is a GAME SIDE issue, not a phone-side issue. There is no whitelist on a phone that will enable you the unsupported FPS.

You are totally correct my friend... I have been tinkering with vmos app, I created a virtual machine in my own phone (lmao sounds like science fiction, but damnit this 888 has muscle) and it is just because devs do it intentionally.
I tried different phone makes and models... Casually Snapdragon flagship cap the game to 60FPS, but NORD devices make it run 120 FPS (you can set FPS settings in the VM option).
This is hilarious. Seems to me OnePlus just broke some contract conditions and this is devs punishment... Makes no sense, I have to test further but this is what I found for now. My doubt is if I might get a ban for using the game in a virtual machine... This is not relevant for this post!
Hope it helps someone, for exclusive games working just 120HZ in some devices you can spoof model name without root

If I set up OnePlus LE2123/20/25 game runs 60FPS.
If I set for instance, my couple nord 2 DN2103 runs 120FPS same settings, just device name and brand changed!
Presets for S20, Xiaomi 10, vivo x50 all run 120 FPS.
Which for me is big yikes It is clearly devs fault, there has to be something odd...
