Has anyone tried any battery cases for their Pixel 2 XL? I'm going to be taking a vacation here soon and was looking to see any options people have experience with.

Nope but a USB-C 10000 mAh portable battery is a good alternative. I carry one on days I know I'll take lots of videos and pics.

I saw this one. Wasn't sure how well it performed and is quite hideous. I may just get some extra battery packs
Battery pack equals unsightly. Not sure there's any way around it. My ZeroLemon battery case was also very ugly for the pixel XL. This one has that weird cut out which allows you to more easily use the fingerprint sensor. But it is bulky. I put it on for a couple of hours if I'm in desperate need and it works well. I also have done a ghetto DIY battery pack. I took a 2000mah external battery and stuck it to the back of my phone with a sticky pad cut to fit , with a 3in MicroSD to type c cable. The big fat battery case is far superior

True, but in practice, since it is designed to be attached to your phone, it shouldn't matter as much. As opposed to an external battery which is a pain to carry around while charging.
Anyone tried charger of 27w or 45w?
Everyvbody knows of original Google charger is 15w...maybe with 27w or 45w the charger will be fast?

It doesn't matter how fast your charger is. The Pixel 2 is capped at 18w.
Like @PuffDaddy_d said, it won't charge faster. And it doesn't even use the 18w the whole time, as some tests showed. I own a 45W charger by myself and can tell you, it really doesn't charge faster.

Mine charges really fast, don't understand why people are having such trouble? It's a huge battery and charges around 1:45. Haven't found a quicker charging phone, my S8+ charges about the same???
On a side note, the ifixit tear down shows that the Pixel has a Qualcomm SMB1381 Quick Charge 4 IC, which if you look it up is Quickcharge 4 chip.

Perhaps you should take a look at VOOC charging from OPPO
What I've noticed is that from about 0-60% it charges super fast, which makes sense. Then 80-100% is the slowest portion. I would say it fully charges in about 1.5 hours.

No one is saying it doesn't charge quickly. We're just answering the OP's question: this phone won't charge any faster, even with a faster charger.
Also, the pixel 2 is NOT compatible with any Qualcomm Quick Charge, Samsung Fast Charge, Oppo VOOC, One Plus Dash Charge, or Huawei Fast Charge versions. It only accepts the USB Power Delivery standard for fast charging.

You've both gone 0% (or near 0%) to 100% under 2 hours? I've never heard anyone claiming that before.

LOL okay but I guess that counts? Might give that a try tomorrow just to see. This afternoon I just went from 1-100% in 2 hours and 8 minutes with phone in regular standby use, screen off, Ambient Display, WiFi and mobile network on. Would be nice if the tech sites posted something about the improved charging speed compared to the initial release. Especially when it used to take nearly 3 hours.

I tested three separate pixel 2 xls with original and replacement batteries. No matter what phone the original battery is in, it fast charges. If I put a replacement battery in, it writes "fast charging" but can't go over 1,500 Ma vs 2,500 on the original and this is with Anker PD chargers and the original pixel 2 xl PD charger. If anyone has a solution for this that would be great!

My opinion, but I don't think so. It is possible, but I'm not sure what their incentive to do so would be. Where did you purchase the replacement battery? Did you test different replacement batteries, or just the same brand? You might just be proving the brand purchased is not a quality product. On the Nexus 6P the market became flooded with bunk batteries and it was near impossible to find a genuine, quality replacement. Another thing to measure is the replacement battery's capacity compared with the original. Not that it would necessarily stop fast charging but would be a measure of the battery quality and meeting the nameplate spec. I haven't replaced the battery in my P2XL yet but I had 2 N6P's and went through several batteries before finding a good one. I still have one of those and the replacement battery has 106% capacity and does charge rapidly.
same issues here, i tried 2 batteries and got same result.
Manufacture date both are 2018/6/2x. ( I forget real day.)

My 10 months old Pixel 2 XL hasn't been showing a flat battery graph for a while (unless in safe mode), and as much as I check BBS or batteryhistorian, I can't figure out where the drain trend comes from. So I started suspecting that the battery capacity is just not the same anymore, and I'm starting to think about replacing it.
So, how long did your original battery last until needing a replacement?

I am going to revive this thread from the dead, just in case.
So, since the Pixel 2 XL has been my daily driver for the past two years, the battery capacity has degraded enough to warrant a replacement. Thus I had my original battery replaced by a technician at a service store with this one: https://ebay.to/2S37lB1
However, after receiving the device back I noticed it would not fast charge anymore. I am following the battery conditioning instructions to the letter, having let the device fully discharge and the recharge for more than 8-9 times by now. So, while the "Charging rapidly" indication appears on the screen when charging, the actual charging time of the replacement (zero to full in ~4h) is much longer than the original battery (zero to full in ~1h 30m).
I'm trying to figure out what is happening here. Is the "genuine" battery I purchased crap? Could the technician have done something wrong during the placement/connection process? Is it something with the Pixel 2 XL device itself, not allowing new batteries to function properly?
Any ideas will be appreciated!

It doesn't support 27w charging. It comes with an 18w charger but is capped at 10.5w I believe.
Definitely go for the 2XL over the 3. There are a ton of reports that the 3 is bricking all over the place out of nowhere. Plus, imo, the 2XL is better anyway. I have one and it's still running great. The 3 is probably the worst in the series so far, imo.

It's simply a question of 10 vs 23 Watts, even though the latter comes in with a fan on top of it, lol.
Yes to the difference in wattage but the size difference will make the next gen easier with a larger phone.
I use the OG Pixel stand on my 6 Pro. I have no desire to pay $80 for the new one. I couldn't care less about the charging speeds.
I use original Pixel stand with major complaints. I sometimes do have a hard time getting the alignment right though and the phone keeps nagging me to realign it.
I use the OG pixel stand for night time charging so speed doesn't matter at all. The second gen charger would be good at my desk where I have less time to wait for a full charge before hitting the road
I've switched to the Lenovo smart clock 2 with the wireless charger. Truthfully, the features that came along with the stands were never consistent. They would often have to be set up all over again after a few days or so. It has the same features, plus the feeling of a bedside clock and nightlight. Not sure if it charges at the same speed, but it gets me to 100% by the time I've gotta get to work!
