Hello
I tried to root my S9 (SM-G960F) and I failed.
After a full wipe , I reinstalled a Stock ROM for french XEF.
After a restart, i can't start some Samsung applications because they detect a root state !
Root checker said me 'Sorry ! Root access is not properly installed on this device'.
What can I do ?
Thanks
You tripped KNOX when you rooted, this is permanent, this is also why you read before doing anything

.
Please could you help me if you can,
Thank you very much in advance
Do you have Superuser installed (not sure if root checker works with or without SU)? Also, do you still have a custom recovery (TWRP, CWM, etc.)?
If not, try installing it from the market and see if you still have root. The boot image didn't get replaced with the stock one when you unrooted.
The best way to set your phone back to a stock unrooted (with counter reset) IF you are not running 4.3 following the instructions in billard412 thread linked below:

Hi, i have a problem with my phone, a Samsung GT-I5510, after updating it with Odin to Android 2.3.6 from Froyo, i couldn't find a single way of rooting it or simply to get root access to cancel or install some apps. Here i post the data of the phone:
GT-I5510
Android 2.3.6
I5510XWKP1
Kernel [email protected]#1
GINGERBREAD.BUKP7
I have tried many ways of rooting it, including rooting from the SDcard with Universal Root or Z4root, and i also have tried with SuperOneClick or SRS-Root from my pc, all failed, and if i try to install CWM Recovery, the screen of the recovery program becomes so dark that it is impossible to read, and i have to hard reste it to unistall CWM.
And i also have trouble if i get into stock recovery mode, after the normal commands, it appear a message under the screen

Can you help me with my device?
Thank You
Hi all. I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini
I9195 since November 2013. I rooted it
about a year ago and installed CWM
recovery. I only had 3 apps that required
root; CPU Master, Samsung Log Converter
and Silent Boot. I was very happy with the
phone except for a problem with tabbed
browsing where I frequently couldn't close
open tabs as the tab button wouldn't work.
I eventually decided to update the software
hoping this would cure the problem. I knew
I would have to unroot the phone which
I did, and I did a back up to the external sd card
using CWM. Then I updated the software with
Kies on my pc. Well now I am running 4.4.2 and
it's terrible. The phone freezes, hangs, locks
up etc. So I tried to get back to 4.2.2 but I see this
isn't too easy. I tried to root the phone again with
Towel root and it says "Device Not Supported".
Then I ttird CF Root but Odin won't do it. I tried using the
CWM back up from the sf card via upload
mode and this had no effect. I have all the
correct drivers on the pc but Odin fails when I select
select the Serranotex file. When I connect the phone in download
mode the I.D Com box turns Blue not Yellow
Is it possible to completely erase the os
and re install 4.2.2? Also my Knox Counter shows 0x0
in recovery mode. Can I
root the phone via a file fom the external sd card?
Also I replaced the hdd in the pc a few months ago with an sdd.
Could this be part of the problem? Fortunately I had my trusty Galaxy
S2 handy as a spare phone. Sorry for the very long post
but its my first one. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Knox 0x0 you're lucky, try wiping factory reset in recovery.
Has your baseband changed?
I think you can downgrade to a one Brazilian 4.2.2 firmware which is Knox bootloader v2.
Rooting 4.4.2 official without triggering knox is tricky, early versions of kk you could use towellroot, ive read newer kk require flashing a early 4.4.2 kernel then use towelroot and flash again your original kernel kernel
Thanks for the reply fburgos . I managed to get it rooted by installing Odin and the drivers on another pc and it worked ok. I'm happy enough for now with my three root apps and Super user disabled Knox for me too.
