Turn down whatever is causing the clipping or distortion. Could be gains or eq levels too high, or bass level above the recommended. Could be you have multiple things leveled up to high, like eq gain, subwoofer option on and maxed, and or many things. I'd clear cache & data, that will reset to fresh start then slowly increase things until you reach optimal sound.
Best of luck!
First... This is very old topic...
Second if anyone have that problem:
For me distortion was caused by our DTS.
If you can disable DTS by comment library eagle
and effect eagle_pipeline in audio_effects.xml or through system props
ro.product.lge.globaleffect.dts=false
ro.le.globaleffect.dts=false
Then you will amplify your audio with any equalizer.
If you have magisk and module, and i assume that you have then create file called system.prop paste these two props, save, set permission of the file to 0644 or rw-r--r-- and reboot.
You will lose DTS:X, equalizer (system), but possibility to adjust audio without distortion and quad dac is still working.

Thank you very much.
The lowest possible volume setting (before silent of course) on the M9 speaker is too loud for me. Is there any way to lower it further? Is there a specific file that controls the volume that I could modify?

Yeah, I already have it on Music mode. Still way too loud.
There must be a config file that has the sound levels in it that we can edit, no?
I just looked at Dragon-fi Audio, thanks. It seems like that has many more modifications that what I'm looking for. I just need a way to lower the sound level of the minimum volume.
you can edit a file called something with mixer_path.xml . but i forgot which exactly it was.. but yea Dragon-fi is really nice and awesome and really helps with static noise on m9...also anything else is much more improved *_*
Hello everyone,
Would you please, tell me, if there is anything I can do to have the lowest volume, a bit lower??
It's way too loud, even if the volume slider it's on lowest..
Thank you
I personally use ViPER4Android FX as a Magisk module which allows you to set the Output gain (under Master gate) to as low as -40.0 dB, which is plenty silent.
Just remember to turn on Master power.
Hi,
I have issues with Sss-sibilants at phone calls: they are too loud for my ears through the speaker of the OnePlus 7T even at the lowest speaker volume.
So, I have the idea to lower the volume of specific speaker's frequencies [around 4-10 kHz].
Is there a way to this?
I can't find a possibility in the audio controls of the Oxygen OS.
Maybe there is a possibility using "MagiskHide Props Config" or there is a simple equalizer which works at system level to control the speaker for phone calls.
Thanks in advance for any ideas/solutions.
How to improve speakers quality (balance, bass, clarity) [7 / 7T / 7 Pro]
It's possible to significantly improve loudspeakers sound quality and fix imbalance with hidden Dolby Atmos settings. Follow any or both steps below (good for all Oneplus 7 series). STEP 1: Fix stereo imbalance (ROOT is required) The top...
forum.xda-developers.com
Edit: I haven't tried it yet so use at own risk... Though I may give it a go yet cause I like to play
Thanks for the link =)
I'll give it a try.
Hopefully the settings also normalize the hearing experience while having phone calls...
Hello
The lowest possible speaker volume is too loud when listening to anything, Sirius or iHeart. My previous OP7P's volume was lower for the first volume setting.
Is there anything I can do to lower the decibels a bit?

Did you install the dolby atmos mod or viper4android?
Is this over wired usbc headphones, bluetooth, or the speaker?
There is a Bluetooth volume control in developer settings if it's bluetooth/headphone related.
The atmos or viper4android mods can make the volume a lot louder. I go turn my atmos from custom back to voice or movie.
It may help to post what version of android you're using and if you're rooted, for more help
Thank you App
I mentioned my op9p that, yes I'm rooted.
I'm on A112 and did install the Dolby mod you helped me with in another thread.
I am referring to the volume of the phone's speaker as I listen to Sirius, for example.

I must have missed it. I didn't recognize the name but try changing your dolby atmos setting to another preset setting or turn off "volume leveler" or "dialogue enhancer" and see how it sounds then
Thank you App
That did it. It was the volume leveler setting, I think.

Happy to help! Sorry I didn't recognize your name from the other thread or I would have said try that before asking about your viper/dolby.
I asked because I had the exact same issue. I was laying down with my kids like 'damn, this is awfully loud for volume 1' . I remembered the Dolby install earlier that day and that was my issue.
It's good to know it worked the same on a11 and a12 for future people wondering the same thing.
I had something similar happen on Viper on an older phone with my aux cable, it would sound distorted until adjusted in viper but only in my car aux. Not wired headphones or bluetooth
