Somebody can share with me a receipt for warranty? - Nexus 5X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi.
I've got a disease of wild bootloop too. I can't even try to flash bootloader, as mine USB port doesn't work too, don't know why. Unfortunately, previous owner didn't gave me a receipt, i know only that phone is still on warranty, or it's just after, as he bought it somewhere in the middle of 2016. Is there anybody from UK who has a receipt for 5x without IMEI wroten on it, still on warranty, and can share it with me? I'll send You "thank You" by PayPal

Need help! desire always rebooting. warranty

I'll try to explain as best as possible. Im from portugal and i bought my desire (second hand) in ebay uk in february. When i recieved the phone I opened the box and I saw that there wasnt a invoice, not from the purchase between me and the seller but between the seller and the store where she purchased but also do not know if it was mandatory to include and also the thing that was least bothered at the time.
The phone came branded to t-mobile but i s-off and rooted, so it was not a problem.
The problem is that a few months back here the phone starts to reboot itself. I had to take the battery to stop. But starting from yesterday has worsened a lot, anything I do, the phone restarts and does nothing but this, sometimes he even starts but after entering the PIN, it restarts again. I know its a hardware problem more precisely the motherboard, right?
Already contacted the support of HTC in my country but they tell me to go to the store where purchased, and then they send it for repair. And this is a big problem because as you know I live in Portugal and I can not go to the store where the phone was purchased. Then they told me that I could send to the repair center in my country, out of warranty. Once i have investigated further the identity repairs in Portugal, I saw lots of complaints services, such as unresolved issues, products that come worse than when they were, high prices, etc. Anyway, I better not try their services.
The only solution is to buy another mobile phone, or is there a light at the end of the tunnel? I love this phone and I do not like the idea of having to buy another much more cheaper because I can not buy an equal or similar at the moment. And I'll be very frustrated when using it, after having the experience of using a Desire.
Thank you.
P.S: btw, who does the repairs in Portugal is the Arvato Services.
Anyone?....
try cyanogenmod - it's a faultless ROM.
If the issue persists then you may send it in for repair since I doubt there's anything else for it.
Sounds like the problem I had with my first Desire. It finally was a hardware problem and I got it replaced via my warranty.
In the first couple of weeks everything was fine but then it became really instable and rebooted in loops. Sometimes it run flawless for some hours and then again rebootet and rebootet. Partially even while booting, it restartet again. It became unusable and I had to send it in. Sorry to tell you that.
It was checked and replaced by Arvato Germany

About warranty and replacement of my HOX

Hi there, first poster here ( but I have been browsing this forum for more than a year)
I bought a HOX on August 16th, from Infinite Mobile in Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur. But never opened it till 26th because I was so busy and was away at the time my bro bought this for me. Picked it up after I got time, went out of country, opened it on 26th, and what did I find? DOUBLE YELLOW HAZES! I know this is a very common issue and is discussed here. If I'm correct, this is a hardware issue and somewhat related to heat and the screen. The only way to get this fixed is to get a replacement right? Now my question is, as I am currently out of country would that have any effect on the warranty. Because, I'm thinking of going to the store to get a replacement after I get back to Malaysia. But the problem is, I wont be returning until 1st October. And I couldn't register within 7 days like the sticker on the box says, to get 1+1 year warranty. But I do still get 1 year standard warranty right? And through that I should be able to get a replacement when I get back right? Can anyone here shed some light on this?
Also I did use the search function, but couldn't find anything useful, that's why I posted here. Also I emailed to HTC and to sis to about this a few days ago, but haven't got a reply. Much is appreciated.
Regards

I would contact the shop you bought it from.
..
Thank you for the reply. I tried to contact them but I cant seem to find any contact number or email. Guess going there is the only option. Can anyone confirm ( one from Malaysia preferably ) about my warranty. Will it get void if I go out of country? I am going to return on first October you know, it will be a bummer if it does void it.....

You should be ok taking it to your local HTC centre. Contact them and ask.
Taking a phone out of the country won't void the warranty, just might make it harder to get the warranty, if you know what I mean.

Thank you for clearing that up. Also I don't think there is a local HTC centre where I am currently. Guess my only option is to return to Malaysia and go to the store where I bought it from.
P.S : Just wanted to say I just now got the update, 140mb in size and currently downloading. If I remember it correctly, im in the 707 zone.
Thanks again

If you cant get hold of the seller, then call HTC Malaysia, not sure what type of a warranty you got, some countries/retailers provide international warranties as well, so you might be able to get it fixed somewhere else.

Bootlooping not sure if caused by me or the hardware fault?

Model H815, bought the device at launch. From UK.
So a couple weeks ago I was messing around with rooting and all that, managed to flash a bad file and ended up in a boot loop. Fixed it using LG Bridge, flashed all the right files and was running a rooted device fine.
Then maybe a week after that whilst just using the phone normally, it freezes, the speakers make a weird buzzing noise and then the phone turns off. Ever since it has been bootlooping. I tried fixing it using LG Bridge again, using the 'Update Error Recovery' option with the device in download mode, it says it was successful but the device still bootloops.
Not sure what to do? Will LG replace the board if it is a hardware fault even though the bootloader is unlocked? I may have also taken the phone apart with the intention of baking it, but never did. Would they be able to tell that I did that and then not repair it?
How much would a repair cost if for some reason it wasn't covered? What's the best way to get it repaired? I got it on contract from O2.
Also, if anyone knows where I can buy a motherboard that would be great, as I'd rather just repair it at home instead of sending it off to LG not knowing if they are going to charge me or not.
Thanks in advance.
It is caused by hardware fail, not by you.
Some people admitted that LG repaired their phone with unlocked bootloader, no luck for me, trying to argue with them.
They'll give you a number to SBE (Their 3rd party repair service), again few people admitted that they repaired their phones for freaking free. No luck for me as well here. They've said "It's unprofitable for them to repair it". I actually think they are retarded, thats a quote of first 2 sentences from their response to me: "hank you for your email. If your handset is still in warranty we would ask that you contact LG customer services for further advice, as we only carryout non warranty repairs on behalf of LG. If your handset is out of warranty by date unfortunately we may be unable to offer a viable repair solution." - WTF is that?
Lastly there is no official place where you can buy a mobo, asked LG about 2 weeks ago - no response...

[Warranty] Have you ever got LG to repair your phone with an unlocked bootloader?

My phone fell prey to the ILAPO issue where a faulty motherboard causes the phone to bootloop endlessly. I had unlocked my bootloader and was running imperium ROM previously. LG said they'd repair my phone under warranty, but I'm afraid once they get it they'll change their mind once they see that I unlocked my bootloader ("Bootloader Unlocked!" text is still visible while phone bootloops.)
The way I see it, I have two options:
Send it in and pray they only inspect the hardware (they asked me to send it in without a battery, anyways....)
Bake the motherboard in my oven in hopes of destroying any trace of data (but could this temporarily fix my problem by re-seating the connections and cause LG to decide I don't really need a repair?)
What do you think? Have any of you got your phone repaired after unlocking the bootloader?
EDIT: I ended up sending my phone in and it was repaired even though the bootloader was unlocked! Waiting to receive it in the mail
depending on how much warranty time you still have, maybe you could wait a week or 2 and then relock bootloader method will be published, start watching this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/h815-relock-bootloader-t3506634
@OmnipotentPilot : I did and they did.
I had same issue and sent it in and they fixed it and returned it.
I also bought mine 2nd hand so I had no receipt or anything. I went to website and filled out service request, put a date within a year in where it asked purchase date (or something like that), then it says picture of reciept, and didn't provide one. Then i put the IMEI number in and it came back as repair covered...
also for service requested i picked ( i think it was hardware issue or something like that. then "other" so I could type in that it had the "motherboard bootloop issue".
I got a shipping label thru email, sent it in, it was in the facility 12 hrs (they provide a tracking number once recieved), and shipped back out 2day. whole thing took about a week. but I don't think they actually go thru them once it's approved and recieved. Because when you get the shipping label it says what to make sure is in the box when you send it and it specifically says "receipt" but I didn't have one, so it wasn't in there, but everything got done. I think they actually have a bunch of boards and they just put a new one in and flash the IMEI number or something and send it back out. Because my sd card bracket was bent and broken too and that was fixed as well. But I know the glass and frame / bezzel was mine because I had a small scratch that was still there when I got it back.
My Phone had the bootloop issue, It was 10 days out of warranty (just over a year since purchase) and I had unlocked bootloader and Genysis ROM, Sent it in and it looks like they replaced the insides. It's got a new serial number but i still recognised the same little marks on the outside. It came with Lollipop on so had to re unlock bootloader and install genysis again.
Oh and I also dropped the phone in a stream a few months before but got it out within a couple of secs so i don't think it affected it. But they didn't pick up on that either.
Hello,
No problem for me. 10 days and my phone is back with a new motherboard AND new battery (mistake may be for the battery...).
My phone was unlocked with a custom rom.
Have a nice return
Since LG G4 bootloop had gave us trouble last year, now LG realised their mistake.
So LG should repair whether with warranty or not! Root or not , locked or unlocked. They should repair for free
Yep, I bootlooped mine trying to update CM13 when it was in nighly and they replaced it with no problems XD
repaired no problems
i had same issue sent it in with unlocked bootloader and got it back repaired in 9 days
Sorry to bump but I wanted to let everyone know that I ended up sending in my device. I received an email yesterday that repairs are complete and it's on the way back to me! Will edit original post.
No such luck with mine unfortunately, sent it back stating that it was rooted and therefore warranty was invalid.
Depends on the technician I guess. Mine was unlocked, without any OS and it got fixed (over one year to warranty expires). My friend had no luck though. His claim was rejected despite locked bootloader. What is more, the technician claims the phone was water damaged.
In the EU , the SELLER have to change or repair your device for free in warranty time...I live in hungary...my H815 bootlooped...The LG refuse the service...the Official LG repair shop refuse too...Then i research a little....
Read this: https://www.piana.eu/root/
Tomorrow i'll go to the seller (mobile company, Telenor Hungary) and let's the game begin!
Yes. My carrier unlocked/bootloader unlocked/TWRP recoveried H815 that I bought off Swappa was replaced by LG with no issues. They say they replaced my motherboard, but the entire device is new. New EVERYWHERE. I had an H815, now this device has H811 all over it. They couldn't send an H815, so they asked me what I wanted. I opted for the H811 so I can unlock the bootloader (screw AT&T and their restrictions).
New device is already bootloader unlocked, TWRP installed and running stock rooted ROM until the carrier unlock goes through. Then it will be all ResurrectionRemix.

warranty after service applied

Hello , When you send a lg phone for service with issue in motherboard(aka bootloop issue) and they replace it.Service guys associate the new imei and serial number with the old ones ? So if 2 year warranty is over but the new mainboard is much newer, in case of another issue ,for example screen flickering, could we send to it another service center and just don't tell them that the mainboard is replaced?

If im not mistaken it should be from the time they send it back the waranty should basicly be reset. Again if im not mistaken
There have been users send there g4 in multiple times over the last couple years. And ive never heard anyone complain of that.
To make things more clear,
Does service keep record globally to lg the mainboard replacement? So can I claim warranty for screen if passed 2 years from the day I bought it but the replaced mainboard serial number says that I have warranty till August of 2018?Maybe somewhere else from the service shop where I sent it for the bootloop issue because they will not know that mainboard is replaced.
Thanks.

Ill thank that response. That is a very good ? I would like to know that myself.
I was always under the assumption tbat yes any time u send a device in on a waranty and a poce with any kind of serial nums gets replaced the new serial is the new waranty date. I dont think the old imeis are any good any more as people with locked bootloader try to use old unlock bins. Have to update theyre device id and imei with lgs unlock site as their old ones arent reconized any more after mb replacement.

No. Your warranty will not extend to "forever" (if we assume you have a repair once a year.. ) or being reset just because something get replaced. I can speak for Europe only but I don't believe that any other country will do it different. Normally all vendors record the device warranty globally because if not they would loose many money. I say I don't believe but only LG knows for sure.
The bootloop issue is another story. This gets even repaired when outside of warranty e.g. in the USA due to the signed law suit. That's why this is not an issue for the most people.
