Hi everyone you must have seen this post and I just want to know that out of these mentioned ROMs below, please tell me the bestest ROM for PUBG and overall performance or which kernel + ROM should I install for better performance
As I'm a heavy user and games a lot with using many apps daily so can't test on my own and also I'm a student don't have time to test
ROMs:
1. Bootleggers
2. AEX
3. DotOS
4. Havoc OS
5. MIUI 10
6. PixelExperienceRom
7. RR Rom
8. Jaguar Rom
9. Liquid Remix
Running AiCP 13.1 Latest weekly along with Nameless R17.
Satisfactory performance for me with PubG !!
May not be the fastest there, but coolest (heat management) for sure.
Around 25-30% battery usage per hour.
Running under medium settings as detected and set by the game at first launch !!
Use aosip with stock kernel

I've got to say over the weekend I've tested all the major roms and AEX causes least of the problems
Jaguar - horrible overheating, rom is by far the fastest for gaming
It properly uses fast charge but it's overheating so much it's scary, also substratum doesn't work
AICP - The coolest one(in terms of temps) but is just too slow for games
AOSiP -it's weird it's like improved AICP but I have random problems with my network(I live in Poland and Zuk Z2 doesn't support for B20 so it doesn't have amazing reception)
Bootlegers - has some problems with my apps and just convoluted settings
AEX - steady performance, horrible ram management, after I left phone to charge overnight I guess it stopped charging after 100% because I had 88% in the morning after 7 hours of charging but the games run pretty smoothly, substratum is fully supported, all apps work fine, no cellural problems, but I once phone rebooted so I'm kinda worried
Overall I didn't find one rom without any problems and on all treble roms I have problem that it doesn't charge at full charger possibility :/
If anyone have different good rom please share, I also tested nitrogenos but it was a mess for me so I don't know what else to try which is optimized for Zuk Z2

Did you try changing clock values on jaguar? As it's over clocked by default.
I don't face any over heating on jaguar.. I have been trying roms too and i get back to jaguar everytime. I tried implementing jaguar interactive governor values in other roms but others were not so fluid.
I use default clock values of zuk i.e 2.1 +1.5 ( 1.8+1.2 also work good without stutters) with hotplugging active and i generally play Pubg on ghostpepper / fusion balanced. No over heating faced here

Ex kernel manager. There is a way you can change clock speeds using terminal also. Not sure of that method though.

Hey, thanks for taking out time to try most roms and sharing back. Did you try DotOS ?
AiCP + nameless R17 user here. PubG runs really cool and lag free with medium settings but it's a battery hogger for sure. No OC, all default, no root or any mods.
40%+ per hour while using Mobile Data (AirTel 4G or Jio 4G).
35%+ per hour while 2.4GHz WiFi.
Need to charge often if playing more than couple of games back to back.
Good thing though, 20-80% charge range is done really quickly if using any high AMP (2 or 2.4AMPs) charger !!

Hi everyone. Is the heat persist for everyone. Mine in average 65 degree centigrade and going to Max 73 degree centigrade (through cputemp in status bar xposed module). I'm using telsa rom latest build (based on CM11 R17). I have also tried many custom roms and kernels, mods, underclock but same heating problem. Is there anything I'm missing out. Is there anything really working heat problem solution .
Please help let me know any information to be provided further.
try latest carbon rom... mine doesn't go above 38 deg, 45 deg n 60 deg while idle, while using phone n while playing games resp...
Try Latest Carbon or CM11.
I didn't noticed any heating issues in the latest CM11 builds!
I believe that the price of the phone tells us we should NOT have great expectations.Still,it turned out to be an amazing phone, with a great camera, good performance,no major issues(trust me,i owned an xperia L.that phone has obvious issues and Sony does nothing to fix them.I would sue them if I could for selling that on the market). The heating problem can't be avoided.I'm using latest CM11 and I use mostly balanced profile(1401 mHz top frequncy),and when using the phone to send texts,a little browsing, calls and so on it doesn't get heated up,or it gets a little warmer if you watch youtube videos for example, but when I play games, that's a whole new story. It is obviously that the phone is very hot,way above average. And that's it,we have to deal with it.We can't do anything, that's how the phone was build, the materials they used and so on.On stock the phone has some thermal engine control,if the phone got too hot it dropped the CPU frequency. Now on CM11,there's nothing similar,so we have to be careful to not let it stay hot as hell for too long,it might burn the CPU.I will ask the rom developer about this concern.Hope I helped you.All the best !
The best solution for "Heating Problem And Faster Battery Draining":
1)Flash latest Carbon Rom RC6 4.4.4 (it has its own kernel which is very much optimized and has some more governers)
2)After flashing Carbon Rom click go to settings>about phone> click build number 5 to 6 times to activate Developer options and Performance menu.
3)In performance menu Set maximum speed to 998 Mhz and minimum to 300 Mhz, Set the Governer to "conservative" and I/O Scheduler to "cfq".(If you play games alot then set max frequency to 1190)
4)Install Xposed framework
5)Install Greenify app, now activate its module in Xposed Framwork.
6)Add all applications to greenify list and greenify them. Set the Working mode to Boost. Also check auto hibernation mode.
7)Also create a hibernate now shortcut to homescreen to greenify apps frequently when you dont use them.
Now your phone will never heat and it will increase your battery by 50%
Enjoy

try cm 11 with xcelerate kernel for better batt and heat control
Here is updated Thermanager, which could be flashed in recovery. I have made some changes after I played Asphalt game for about one hour. With this update, on performance governor the temperature never went higher than 58. And we are talking 1 hour straight. I doubt you can have that on stock. What was interesting that performance governor produced less heat than interactive, which supports my claim that when cpu jumps frequencies, it creates additional overhead.
Now, regarding myths and fiction about stock rom not overheating. There are some dudes on this forum who complain that their Z1 overheats to 70+ on custom roms when they play their beloved games; on stock, they say, there is no overheating.
Here is a short answer. You, guys, don't know what you are talking about.
Custom roms (and custom kernels) give you tools that are not available in stock. You just have to learn how to read/use them. Here is one example: some roms allow you to have internal cpu temperature on screen. Now that you have it, you watch. When it hits 70, you panic, but if you touch the back door, it will be barely warm. So, when you are on stock and without temperature reading, you think your phone is not overheating, while it can still have 65-70.
I used a modified version of M5 kernel compiled with GCC 5.2.1 Ubertc; CPU at 2457; performance governor, inteliplug balance with touch boost disabled; GPU overclocked to 600 with msm-adreno-tz idle wait 30 and workload 3; swapiness 10; enthropy 1024 read/write. That was on DU rom, but I bet the result would be the same on Jaguar and some other custom roms.
lol, that dude is Me, and I will try this, in the stock rom I can see an process running as overheat manager or something, I think it might have to do something with it. I'm sure that my device got heated very much, I didn't meant to offense but you seems to got it wrong. btw I will try this. I use Jaguar atm.
Thanks
I don't think that my phone won't reach 60 C on stock, but I like watching YouTube, so I can see how fast it warms. (I have xposed module that shows me cpu temp even on stock). And as much as I can say my phone warms faster on custom roms than on stock. No matter what governor I use.
Also all animations (like status bar showing) are kind of laggy on custom roms. I don't know it it got better in past 2 months, but last time I used custom rom my phone reached 50C even only with chrome.
Interesting thing is that this all (including animations) is not present on 3.10 kernel, but there are no usable roms at the moment with 3.10 kernel, so I have to use stock.

Overheat manager: whatever it is, all it does is throttling and thermanager does the same on custom roms. So, the trick is to throttle enough without you noticing any lags...

It's a YouTube app. Really? It's weird, maybe I'll try, but I can see the difference on battery time when I come home from school - on stock I have ~70% and on custom roms I have ~50. Anyway I'll try and report after few days.
Okay, I can say that custom roms are now ok for me when it come to battery life. I compared usual usage of mine on stock and custom roms and now it really gives me same battery life. The only change I made this time is that I used DU instead of Jaguar and this thermalmanager settings.
Though there are still two things that bother me on custom roms: laggy UI - I don't know what causes that, I tried changing lot of cpu/gpu thing to sort it out, but nothing helped. And the other one is headset connecting - I have to press and hold (for a little while) all the buttons on headset to get it recognized.
I'm returning back to stock, but I can say that now is overheating on custom roms gone.
Thank you, @optimumpro

OK. Nice to hear that about battery life and overheating. With regard to lagging: it is not cpu, but rather animations. Either disable them completely in developer options or in DU you can go to tweaks and pick and choose whatever animation you want. I just disable all animations and have absolutely no lag.

Thank you for effort. Could anybody compare with F1xy kernel?
Thanku @Artemka2008 and @Dblm4pda

Btw Anyone tried antutu with this kernel ?
So far, so good.
I did not yet install the custom powerhal or whatnot. What does it even do?
FYI: You have to reroot the tablet after installing this boot.img.
Anyway, of the performance profiles the high is the only useful if one watches youtube. All other profiles results in occasional jerk/lag in the video.
Deep sleep battery consumption so far has been minimal for me. Usage battery consumption might be a tad higher, at least with the high profile, which is the only useful one unfortunately.
This kernel like f1xy and Foxy all suffer from the same wifi problem that when you wake the tablet from deep sleep and wifi is turned off (wifi option Keep awake: never), it takes 30+ secs for the wifi to activate and reconnect. You can't even enable the wifi by yourself during this time, you basically have to just wait...
I haven't run any antutu etc test cos I don't care what the numbers say. All I care is how it works and feels and how the battery lasts.
I'll keep testing.
I am running LOS14 with the new blobs. Which reminds me, I think I get more of the graphical glitches now than I did before. But this all too subjective atm. to say conclusively if it is the kernel or not.

I am not sure what you mean by "system" in this context.
The particular wifi issue I mentioned above does not happen with a stock kernel, only with custom kernels. And it is the only wifi issue I have encountered. No breaking off, nothing else, just a slow reconnection after deep sleep. But if it is a necessary evil while changing the kernel, so be it cos with stock kernel I have much bigger problems and I rather use a custom kernel to get more fluidity of use.
Spassiba for the kernel komrad!
does this kernel support vulkan API?
I ran into a same kind of issue I have with stock kernel; After waking from deep sleep the mipad is usually slow as hell for a minute or 2. Like everything is lagging. A bit like a cold engine which is warming up.
Anyway, I moved back to F1xy cos of this which doesn't suffer from the same issue.

I've a OnePlus 3 Device.. When I Play Pubg in Med Settings.. it Lags like hell and i turned to Low Preset Still The same any solutions???
There was same problem with me too...
1. Make sure upgrade to v0.4.0.
2. If problem still continues use Elementalx kernel and overclock cpus and also turn on GPU boost to high.
Though regardless to say play on Europe server?
I play with framerate set to HIGH and BALANCED and it runs smooth most of the time.....

i'm on latest OOS beta with Derp kernel, no lag what so ever on PUBG , just played it for the 1st time last night, on HD and medium fps (and one mission on high), no lags what so evert, but here's heating normal and expected with this type of games, but didn't effect the game play.
it'll hit the battery though , i went from 92% to 20% in 70 mins of continues playing on high settings. also make sure if you're on OOS to add it to game do not disturb mode, it helps.
i do have same problem on open beta, ill try to flash costum kernel...hope they fix this on next update...

Sorry to say but it will lag in anyway
Coz it is powered by Snapdragon 820 which just sucks in gaming , not becoz of GPU (Andreno 530 is good enough) but becoz of low cores count and thermel throttle ?
And PUBG mostly depends on multicore performance of the processor, in which sd820 littrely sucks (820=450 in multicore performance)
Snapdragon 660 is much better choice for gaming it's much stable than 820/821
Someone said to me to use GFX Tool on play store and enable the vulkan and see the changes. He said it was lagging but after enable the vulkan it turns out pretty smooth after but pretty much drains the battery.

I second this, used GFX Tool with the following parameters:
PUBG M Version 0.6
Resolution: 1280x720
Style: Classic
Graphics : Balanced
FPS: 60fps
Vulkan : Enabled
Anti-Aliasing: Disabled
Running On DU v12.3
Kernel DU stock
Active battery drain after 33mins of use 9% and lags at all.

I dont know, it was smooth here currently on Nougat Zenity RR. But I do also face the lag when I'm using Unofficial RR Luis and I even overclocked the cpu, but it was smooth on OOS with stock kernel and MSM Xtended so far before. That recommendation to enable vulkan was from someone I haven't test it yet since I dont face the lag right now. Sorry can't help much, I also did not understand much why.

Not true , as mentioned on another post above, I also use the latest oos beta ROM, with derp kernel 4.4 , nonlags what so ever , not even a little ...
I've been playing pubg for a month now , and with the above setup I had no lags... I even use maple I/O sched , which by nature may cause some lag and despite that it doesn't.
onePlus stock kernel specially on beta may have issues from time to time, and a lot of cutom kernels for cutom ROMs are configured more toward battery life...
For stock rom use either derp or blu_spark, they will work out of the box without issues, Blu have more heating though on my experience.
For custom ROMs you'll need to ask the kernel dev what settings anss scheds to use ...I'd imagine flash kernel will be ok right out of the box but will not be as battery friendly as the others .
No
Well if you are happy with 20-35fps performance, than trust me you don't really need a flagship, you will be satisfied even with Snapdragon 450 which can give similar performance to sd820 in PUBG lol [QUOTEuke7;76899133]Not true , as mentioned on another post above, I also use the latest oos beta ROM, with derp kernel 4.4 , nonlags what so ever , not even a little ...
For custom ROMs you'll need to ask the kernel dev what settings anss scheds to use ...I'd imagine flash kernel will be ok right out of the box but will not be as battery friendly as the others .[/QUOTE]
Guys if you want to game dont do it on a mobile device. Let alone a cheap China device with high failure rates on hardware.
Could anyone suggest a ROM / Kernel that is tried and tested to not lag on OnePlus 3T? I am currently using a different phone just to play the game and I really wish to move back to my phone ... Any method that is tried and tested to function properly with no lags on the current PubG update would be really appreciated

You will be hard pressed to find a combo that works. You will most likely need to build a rom made for it as most roms are not made for gaming which to be honest is a sad state on mobile device.

Try msm extended pie and aosp extended pie both with stock kernel runs pubg smooth with hd - high fps
Well i'm baffled with you guys, i ran it just fine, i even downclocked it to 1 & 1,5 Ghz (lil&big). My configs: Omnirom and the included kernel (holydragon) downclocked, display driver updated to V313 (look for adreno driver in mi mix forum) use rev15 as it is less glitchy and even has tangible score boost almost 6000 gain in antutu GPU section. And that's it, HD and High setting acquired, i even get extreme setting when i first install the driver, but somehow it disappears lol. If you want to run it even better, use old gfxtool to old pubg apk, run and then update the pubg, immediately uninstall the gfxtool to avoid ban by the new pubg detection for gfxtool. Sorry too long.

Can you share the rev15 zip of those drivers? I went to that thread and all the dev has right now i rev22 or rev21.
Hi everyone,
I am using Xiaomi Mi 6 and I can't take the "support" Xiaomi has for this phone anymore and I am thinking of changing the stock ROM.
I have never done this before and i'm not sure which one to pick. I am interested in improved battery life and improved camera algorithms (if possible) with camera 2api enabled so I can use GCam as the stock camera now (in MIUI 10) is even worse than it used to be.
I would go for something more MIUIish but I want the best that is out there.
Any suggestions?
i tried all possible rom and kernels for mi 6 and finally can say that the best in my opinion will be PIXEL EXPERIENCE CAF
its the smoothest and stable rom.. eas will give you better battery and gaming performance than interactive( if you use asphalt 8/9 on interactive roms you get fps drop to 26/7 constantly. on eas fps are stable, capped to 30 )
caf based provide very smooth and optimized software than aosp. because is optimized for specified processor
f2fs on data and cache will give you better storage performance especially on write speed and device longevity( now pixel 3 and 3 xl use this for these reasons)
- this rom is underclocked to 2.0 ghz by default. if you want maximum performance you need to unlock the maximum frequency with ex kernel manager
-even with ex kernel manager i reccomend to set on boost cluster section : 1324 mhz for little clusters and 0 to big clusters , boost duration 40 ms ( latest miui is smooth because of these values)
camera photos and videos are amazing. 60fps on video with incredible stabilization. battery is outstanding, even deep sleep, only 3% over night.
pixel experience caf isnt perfect because its the third release but is official and regulary updated. my device is smoother than mi 8 and mi 9.. snapdragon 845 use eas for reasons. our device use the same ufs 2.1 memory. no need to upgrade to latest flagships

yes this is official website of caf builds, i reccomend it
there is also a china website https://sagit.sbwml.net/?dir=PixelExperience/pie , but this is aosp based
select witch you prefer
Hello, I don't want to duplicate thread. I look for best ROM for me. What would you recommend for:
- best battery life
- super light rom without bloatware apps (I'd like to install open gapps pico) - only the most important applications. I use "Nova launcher" for my daily launcher.
Actually I use BaikalOS and it is nearly perfect except some issues with hardware button backlight.
You don't have to use kernel manager to change CPU freq
There is xiaomi advanced menu and the are four profiles battery balance performance and game
Choose what you like.
And yes, ROM is very smooth
I've tried almost all roms, but I always come to Miui based ones. Stock ones feel a little bit unfinished, with some small annoyances, and fingerprint is not as fast as on Miui. Regarding battery I think they are all on par. I currently use "MiRoom 9.4.11", little debloated myself with Titanium backup and installed "NFS Injector" module through Magisk. I get aroud 6h SOT, which is the best I was able to get through months of testing.
P.S. I always have a problem with Gcam not saving photos immediately after taking with Aosp based roms, dunno why...
For me,
Miui Based Rom - Revolution OS (not to be confused with Revenge OS). Gapps included.
and
AOSP Based - AospExtended ROM v6.4 [OFFICIAL (latest) + Open Gapps
These 2 I found are more than stable.
Use appropriate Gcam. Both are Buttery smooth for daily driver.

Is this pixel experience better than miui??
Inviato dal mio MI 6 utilizzando Tapatalk
AospExtended ROM v6.4 is indeed very good for daily usage, stable and with tons of features. The only thing that killed me was the music quality when using my earphones.
For now I am using BankaiOS, the music quality of this ROM is more to my taste. It is battery friendly but it allows less tweaking compared to AOSPExtended.
