GT-N5100 soft bricked by itself - Galaxy Note 8.0 (Tablet) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooti

Hello everyone,
Yesterday when I was going to use my tablet I noticed it was off, but minutes before it was on, so I tried pressing the power button and nothing happened, plugged the charger in, nothing, no signs, it seemed bricked, so I tried to power through download mode and it worked, after that I pressed volume down to cancel it to start normally, the first samsung logo showed up (that one that says the model and stuff), but it was there for really long, i left it running and after 5 mins or so it changed to the pulsing blue samsung logo, left it there and about 30 mins later it was back to the 1st samsung logo again. I also tried a soft reset and booting to safe mode, didn't work either.
This tablet has no custom rom installed (I think it is on stock 4.4.2), the only thing different I installed is TWRP and root, years ago, but I cant boot to TWRP through the vol up+home+power, it doesnt work, tbh it never worked since back then, the only way I found to boot to twrp was thru "adb reboot recovery" using adb, which didnt work in download mode, I want to be able to backup some data before flashing it with Odin, so here are my questions:
1- Is there any other command I could try to force it to boot to recovery?
2- Is there any way to backup data via download mode on this device?
Thank you for your attention

Another Day, Another Problem.. Stuck on Android Robot

So I was stuck in a similar mode (recovery download mode) yesterday, it only show Android robot with spinning gear on his back and a scrolling progress bar. I turn it off (Power + Vol Up) and then no matter what I do, just power or power + vol down all just go back to that damn robot.. Fastboot, adb won't work.. It show up on the computer as HTC Android Phone USB Device in the DVD/CD drives
It refuse to get out of that for hours.. I finally give up and I leave it running and walked away.. somehow when I got back (around 2 hours later) it is booted back to normal and asking for new setup. So I thought is working. So after messing up the initial setup, I when and try to factory reset it this morning.. and again it goes back into a similar mode, but this time it have the word Erasing under it. However this time it won't leave the mode even for 3 hours +. Anyone know how to get it out of that mode and maybe interact with Fastboot or Recovery or bootloader or something
When it is working... I could into booloader and stuff. The phone has been modded to play edition, S-off and bootloader unlocked...
However whenever that happen, if the phone is off but plug into a computer, it show up as QHS_USB_BULK. and then usually turn on and get stuck on that robot again... Also if I just keep pushing up an then power it will say formatting and then backup recovery log and then all the spinning gear and progress bar just stop
I don't get this thing. Please help
So I managed somehow to kick it out again (after waiting for a long time).. but wanted to convert the GPE back to original. Was following this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2733523 but before I could go back into TWRP to load the new rom, I accidentally hit factory reset and it got stuck in the HTC version of that same screen. This time it have one extra line Backup CW Package.
Again can't get into the bootloader.. just stuck on this boot loop.. god damn..
Here is how it looks like

[Q] Galaxy Tab 3 stuck in boot cycle after root

Hi Wonder if anyone can help?
I downloaded mirror beta from the app store to mirror my Galaxy Tab 3 SM-T210 to my apple TV3g.
Once downloaded i was informed that the device had to be rooted, so I used Kingoroot and followed the instructions. Everything was fine during the rooting process and completed informing me that it was successful.
The problem is after this the Tab is stuck in a constant cycle mode of the Samsang GALAXYTAB 3 boot logo.
I have managed to power it off ( Black screen) but have been unsuccessful in getting the device into recovery mode to try an hard reset.
I have tried all the button combinations I could find on Google but it only just shows the galaxy screen. Any help would be much appreciated since it is my daughters tablet and ill be in a valley of it if I cant get it restored.
Thanks in advance
Have you tried to Boot your Tab into Download mode?
If this working , flash Stockrom with Odin.
I'm in a similar situation with the logo boot loop except I am unable to shut it down. I hold the power button for 10 seconds and it reboots right back to the logo again with no shut down. How can I shut this down?

I got in the same situation trying to root my Tab. I wound up holding the power button down a really long time and then gently releasing; then I booted it into recovery and there is an "unbricking your 10.1 " post on XDA that has a stock 4.2.2 link.
Once you get the thing into recovery, and it took several attempts (like for two days)- I had given up and was thinking I had finally truly bricked an android) I got it into recovery and then used Odin to flash the original stock rom and it worked. Then Samsung almost immediately downloaded the OTA and I was at 4.4.2 stock.
The sd card slot is broken, so I am still trying to get the tab rooted, but for now just having it functioning in stock form is better than that Galaxy emblem slowly flashing every 5 seconds until the battery dies (Itried that too, thinking it may somehow recharge and reboot and something would be different-no such luck)
But I found holding the button down persistently made the difference, at least it seemed to.
Good luck

s4 mini i9195 boot loop, no recovery, only download mode

Hey!
I was trying to find this problem all around, but no luck. So I'm setting up new thread. Hope not to get redundant
A never rooted S4 mini died for no reason. In the morning we found it powered off and it couldn't be charged, other battery didn't help, nothing.
Long story short I managed to wake it up after complete dissassemble and playing with the battery connectors.
Now it starts up, but after the Samsung Logo it reboots = boot loop.
When I try to enter recovery, it tries to enter (I can see the blue "recovery booting"), but reboots immediately again.
The only thing that works is Download Mode.
So I used Odin to flash all CWM, PhilZ and TWRP subsequently. I got a bit further: in recovery mode it says "No command", then the usual "# MANUAL MODE #" etc and after few seconds it reboots again. So I still can't use recovery.
Does this all mean that the internal SD is fried?
I just need to recover the photos, that's all...
Thanks!
Marek

anything else i can try?
thanks

I9195 (8Gb) on charge overnight, dead the following morning?

Hi guys,
I left my phone on charge overnight and in the morning it was off and wouldn't switch back on.
A debrick image allowed me to get the phone into ODIN download mode (i couldn't get into the recovery mode though).
I have tried several different roms and now (i think) its on a stock 4.4.2 rom.
Odin seems to flash the phone without any errors but upon reboot shows "Booting Recovery..." then gets stuck in a boot loop.
I have even tried CWM - Odin seems to flash it without a problem but when it reboots it just shows "Booting Recovery..." and gets stuck in a boot loop (I have tried the Up Volume + Home + Power with no success).
Since it was on the stock rom and has never had a custom rom on it (until lately trying to fix it) it seems likely that the flash storage is dead or has bad sectors?
Any ideas? I have never had a phone die like this before
Thanks
I have exaktly the same problem and i think we are not alone.
Have you tried all usual things e.g. battery pull?

Help With Complex Boot Loop

Hey everyone.
I recently just got someone's well used Note 4 because they got it stuck in a boot loop. I powered it on, it'll show the Note 4 boot screen where is shows the title of the device and the Samsung logo, shut off, and then repeat. I attempted to put it into recovery (vol+, home, and power, and when the Note 4 screen comes on, let go of power) but it continued the boot loop.
I can however put it into the custom ROM download mode, and then maintenance mode with vol-, power, and home. However, this arises MORE issues, as when I factory reset it, it made no impact, and when I attempted USB debug mode, it went back into a boot loop.
Any ideas? I've had plenty of experience with a OPO and such, but haven't touched a Galaxy phone in ages until now..
Appreciate it!
I had a similar issue with one of my droids. Consider flashing the stock recovery via Odin, make sure there's no SD card in it and as always clear cache and factory reset via recovery if possible. Good luck!
