Which die hard tried the radio Murata for a better radio?
Mate. do not even try. ok?
Diamond is MSM 7500 platform, while Murata radio is for MSM 7200 platform. no chance, do not even go there. Well.. if you would, mak sure that you know how to un-brick the damned thing.
I am sorry fo being too much straight forward.
I hope it helps
Please do not sorry the fact that you are too much straight forward. i only want to know if its possible to use it and if not, if someone plans to make such tool for the Diamond

I thought the exact same. What a very random thing to say.
An application which makes the radio better like Murata did? Or an modified radio. Simply because everyone has problems with the signal of their GSM.

for that you'll have to wait for HTC.
it is possible it is a hardware limitation (don't know how the antenna is put in) but most probably the 0.93/1.00 radios are just a bit too early releases.
Let's hope for a better release then..the TC and TD are almost the same, so my guess is that it's not the signal for hsdpa or 3g which sucks down the reception.
Wierd but the reception on mine is very good (T-mobile US). Better than my touch or Nokia N78.....
Could you tell me which radio you have, which band you use and if you can use hsdpa etc.?
thank you very much!

Ah, de EDGE is doing it. If i put my phone on band GSM i have full signal also, but i want my hsdpa ofcourse
I've tested with batterystatus and when the diamond have 1 signal bar it says 46%, 2 signal bar it says 74%...
We dont know if there will be any real difference between the vzw and sprint one except for frequencies we know ..... Will the roms for vzw be able to be used for sprint if they are alike except for freq.... and sprint having google wallet enabled ... I am thinking of getting it since developement will be really good if you can use existing roms ... thanks for any replies

No, you cannot use existing ROMs. Sprint uses a weirdo RIL that makes it difficult the carrier difficult to program for.

if it is the same phone except for frequencies then the Radio interface layer should be the same should it not ? Sprint should have nothing to do with that as google is the one doing software for it not sprint

If the frequencies are different, the radio interface layer would be different because the radio will have to communicate with different frequencies.
It says here that the RIL is radio agnostic. I assume that would include frequency agnostic. I could be wrong because I had to Google just to figure out what a RIL was.

I believe there is something strange with Sprint's radios or RIL, I remember reading them being harder to code for as well. That could be because of that bum Wimax they were pushing though.

I am thinking that because there are only small freq changes that the roms here should work ... most problems i think were because of wimax and these phones are probably going to be identical .... i will try when i get it if it isnt too long ...
Is there a way to force my SGS3 to use 3G instead of 4G? At work I cant get 4G but my Vibrant picked up 3G perfectly. Just wondering. Thanks

Do you mean "2G/Edge"? There really is no 4G on T-Mo, it's just their marketing name for 3G HSPA+.

Yes, I know there is not "TRUE" 4G.. But it does pick up a different signal than my Vibrant "3G/H". No i do not mean edge. I want to pick up 3G not 3G+...

That won't make a difference. It is not possible to limit one of them because they are the same technology.

So I'm trading with my mother her T-Mobile sim for mine. She's going to take over my contact from Att and I'll take hers. Reason is her job well pay her bill but they want Att for some weird reason Lol. And i want the unlimited data with T-Mobile. So my question is once I unlock both phones, well I still be able to use my current rom? witch is avatar latest with KKO kennel. Would I just use an T-Mobile modem and radio or just stick with the Att radio/modem?

yea ROM shouldnt matter. Its all about the baseband or modem. Might want to hop over to the T mobile forums and ask them. Another thing you want to do with your AT&T Note is hack it so you can use T Mobiles AWS bands. The Chip in our phones is disabled right now but we have the hardware to use the T mobile bands.

Yea I'm going to. I seen an thread bought the aws band witch I plan on doing. I'm actually kinda glad my mother wants to switch the 3gb data is kinda killing me Lol. But I think an Att radio/modem should be just fine or i could be wrong.
It's actually very easy to enable the AWS band on the AT&T Note 2. T-Mobile LTE works out of the box, but for 3G (HSPA+), you need to flash a file from your computer. You don't have to be rooted though. It shouldn't void your warranty either or trip the flash counter: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2068041

Yea, that the thread I saw. My mother gets 4g on her T-Mobile s3 and in live like 15 minutes from her so i should get it also. When I do switch should I just stick with my Att radio/modem?

Flashing another Note 2's radio (as in another carrier's/model's) to your AT&T Note 2 can actually damage it. Not physically, but you'll lose your IMEI for example and probably get stuck in a bootloop. Stick with AT&T modems. You have to reapply that flash from your computer any time you flash or reflash a modem though. But seeing as how most custom ROMs don't come with a modem, you won't be doing that often anyways.

Yea that make perfect sense. If im understanding corectly, since im going to be sticking with this rom for awhile. Once i do the aws band mod all i got to do is put the sim card in and i should be good to go.

Yes. Although you can change ROMs freely. This mod will stick until you flash a different modem (which is separate from a ROM), at which point you just flash it again.

Yes. Modems rarely need to be changed and are in a separate file 99% of the time. Kernels and ROMs and anything else can be changed as many times as you want.
What area are you in? You might see how it works stock unlocked on the refarming first. I'm quite happy with how my i717 does in Chicago.

I did this to my phone actually. The housing is slightly different for the phones so I had to use a dremel to grind away some walls inside the housing for motherboard components to fit. The antennae cable is a little shorter and has a tighter fit due to slightly different configuration on the N7105 board. You need to replace the charging port from N7100 to N7105 because they are not compatible (was less than 5 bucks). Overall, it worked hardware wise, but I don't know if it's the motherboard I bought or something else; I can't connect to 2.4 ghz wifi and 5ghz wifi connection is somewhat spotty. I also do not have 4g capability for some reason, only Edge, despite changing to the appropriate APN, mobile network, and having it on the 4g setting.
I may try flashing a new ROM on it later to see if that fixes things.
were u successful at this? I am in a similar situation
