Don't sweat it, make sure you have your proof of purchase in digital image format and contact razer chat about an in warranty repair or replacement. In the mean time(and before you send it off) if you need to backup data, get a USB C OTG cable, or a thunderbolt dongle. Then, connect a keyboard and mouse to the dongle and the dongle to your phone. You need SMS backup and restore mainly, contacts you can export in the contacts app, and internal storage just backup to a pc or sd card. Their RMA process may be a pain in the *ss depending on where you bought your phone from but as long as there is no physical or liquid damage you should be covered.
Good luck

Hello all
i have read through these forums found a range of ideas but have found no specific answer to my problem.
heres a few details (i am not up to scratch on the technical details but will do my best)
a coupe of weeks ago i did something to my phone (rooting i thinkit is called ) where i created a partition on my sd card so i could use the app sdlink. the reason for this was after every app update i was getting low memory and my phone was very sluggish so i wanted to shift it all to that partition. i managed to do this no problem, the phone worked absolutly fine afterwards.
over the weekend i was away and i noticed my phone getting slower, when ever i wanted to take a picture the camera would take ages to load. this just got worse and worse to the point of the screen hardly coming on when i activated it, the only thing that got the screen up was sliding the gamepad open and shut a few times.
it also became extremly sensitive, i could use the screen when i got it back on but the slighest nudge on the slide mechanism and it would go blank.
when i got home i tried the repair open on pc companion and it went completly black.
i have tried this a few times, i have flashed with ftf files i have used SEUS many times and nothing. it will occasionally come on, load up but the slighest touch and it goes blank.
Is the phone usesless?
shall i keep trying? i have rang up my insurance and they will want me to send it to them in a few day, i want to keep trying myself though because the excess i cant really afford to pay at the moment.
Thankyou, any help would be greatly appreciated
That sounds like a hardware fault - something wrong with your screen or a cable. I'm afraid your only option is to get it repaired
well, i am going to have to concede its a hardware problem. my phone rang and i didnt even realise it was on. it showed on my screen i lightly touched it and it went blank but continued to ring. thanyou anyway
try this

If the screen came on, then flipped back off, I highly doubt that process will fix it. You're better off just getting it exchanged.
Did you look into a warranty replacement? The phone, itself, is not quite a year old, so you should still be under warranty. Reverting it to stock using the .ftf process would have gotten rid of root, so your warranty shouldn't be voided anymore.
Edit: Maybe the phone is a year old, but do look into it. You have a year manufacturer's warranty that, unless you got the phone right when it was released, should still be in effect.
xperia play dead!!
my case my xperia play is totally off, its only vibrate whn i press power button. Some days ago my play working perfectly but whn i slide up or down my screen display goes off but my mobile is on & thn i press lock button and thn press unlock the screen, but oneday i was using my mobile and suddenly my mobile display off again at tht time mobile on only screen off thn i pulled out battery and restart my mobile but thr was no luck, my xperia play dead only vibrate. i flash my mobile several time through flashtool but no luck. I think its slider cable issue or may be motherboard, is thr any luck to send my mobile to sony repair center bec i am a secnd owner but no purchase slip or any bill. kindly confim me, is thr any chance that sony repair my mobile???
your early response in this regard will be highly appreciated..
The infamous slider flex cable. Same thing wrong with mine.
I'm starting to think that slider is a faulty design. More and more people are having issues. After taking apart my xplay, I can tell you the way it's designed puts a lot of stress on that cable. The engineers weren't doing their job..
Sony needs to do a warranty extension/recall because of this IMO
Maybe we should all make a petition.
So I have a rooted CDMA xperia play running 2.3.3, my question is is it possible to unlock the bootloader of my phone? Cuase from my reading CDMA xperia plays are unable to have the bootloader unlocked

My bro broke his S4 lcd screen 2 times within 1 month. We already had it repaired once that costed over $250 to replace the screen. Somehow tmobile f'ed up when we bought the phones and they did not add insurance to ours plans even though they said over the phone over 5 times that it was on all of phones. We are trying to cut our losses and now we have to sell all of our phones and rebuy them to get the insurance that we requested in the first place. My bro's lcd is still broken and now we are trying to sell it. How can we sell my bro's s4 with the broken screen for the most money so we can throw less money into the pit. I was thinking if we got it factory unlocked we could probably sell it for $100 more. His screen wont turn on at all. It seems that everything is working except the screen. Are there any ways to unlock the phone, back up everything and erase everything before we sell it with a non functional screen? How much do you think that could fetch on ebay and do you think it will sell for less once the note 3 comes out? Thanks.
Have you tried hooking to PC via USB cable to see if you can access the sd card?
That way you can get pictures off the phone and delete the one on the phone.
If you have "wipe device" enable in Google settings you could wipe all the data from the phone before selling it. Without a working screen it's kinda hard to do much. Does the screen still react to touch or is it completely dead?
If the touch screen still works buy an mhl cable and connect to your TV so u can navigate to setting and do a reset or even unlock it.

Is the wipe device setting need to be turned on or is it on by default? How does it work/activate? He somehow needs to get some information from an app. Is there a way that I could just copy the data while connected to a PC and somehow load it on my phone so he can get the info that he needs. I have not used Samsung Kies, do you think that could help me out in any way? Are there ways to control the phone through a command prompt while connected to a PC, his phone is rooted? If somehow I could do a nandroid backup that would help things a lot. If I can't wipe the phone through googles settings should I just delete as many files on the internal sd I can without corrupting the phone. I don't know which files are crucial without breaking the phone. Where should I start? Thank you.

I do have an mhl adapter but I do not think that the screen is responsive. However, the soft keys are reacting. I do not have the mhl adapter with me right now to test it out. Doesn't the screen need to be first unlocked for it to show up on the TV? Lucky, I did not set it up with a complex unlock method. However it still could be very difficult to unlock the screen. If this does not work out do I have any other options? What about the value for resale? Should I try to sell it before the unveiling of the note 3 or do you guys think that the value will not drop much?
I noticed that the screen that was used to replace the original broken screen was a little less vibrant and clear than mine. The repair guy swears that the screen was made by Samsung. Are there other companys now making screens for the S4 that are inferior to the originals? Could that be why the screen broke so soon? Thank you all for helping me.
Wipe device feature would have to be turn on by the user (not default)

Howdy,
My wife's screen got shattered the other day. It turns on, but does not respond to touch at all. When I plug it in via USB to a PC it does not pull up as a drive (only charges). The phone is not rooted, runs stock Sprint firmware, and for some reason I am unable to get into the recovery mode (fast boot or whatever). I was thinking I could buy a female usb to micro usb male, plug in a usb mouse and use that to enable mass storage, but it looks like that isn't supported from what I could tell. Is that correct?
If it isn't supported, any other ideas to try to get data off of the phone?
Thanks!

It is not. I was under the impression that it required root which this phone does not have.

It doesn't. It is in developer settings.
You can not in no way get into bootloader/recovery?

For some reason no. When I try I just get the LG bootscreen and then it cycles as long as I am holding down the vol and power button. Works just fine on my LGoG which is rooted, etc.
Should Plan A not work...
I don't mean to get ahead of you, and I don't know of a way to retrieve your information without being able to select "Connect as Media Device" on your touchscreen...but if you plan on getting the same replacement device from Asurion (Sprint Insurance), you could very easily do a motherboard swap between your defective phone and your replacement.
Assuming you file a claim online or at your local Sprint store, just be sure (if asked) to NOT have your replacement device be sent pre-activated. That way, when your motherboards get swapped between the two devices, your original ESN will still be active in its new body. All of your original data (pictures, contacts, SMS, music, etc) will be there. Device works just like it did before, and you'll be sending back the new motherboard with your broken screen. You get all new parts, like your charging port, speakerphone, LCD\TSP, etc but you get to retain all of your information. Asurion doesn't care what ESN they get back, as long as it's the model\brand device they believe it's supposed to be (Optimus G for an Optimus G).
I've been repairing phones at a Sprint store for over 3 years, so if you cannot get your information retrieved and want to try swapping motherboards, please let me know. The swap would take you roughly 45 minutes if you've never done it before, or bring it to a local Sprint store. I'm sure there are also plenty of others on this site who could help as well, but good luck!

Ha, I just broke mine and had the same problem...I had ADB Debugging checked which allowed me to plug my device in and use a windows program called "MyPhoneExplorer" to bring up the OG screen on my desktop "remote control essentially" and navigate thru my phone like it was in my hand via mouse. Anyway, since you don't have debugging on you might be SOL. There may be other programs that are similar that will work without " Debugging " on. The only other thing that is relatively inexpensive you can do is just buy a new screen or an old OG someone is selling that has a good screen and LCD... I bought one, in good working condition and with a good ESN for $72 a couple days ago....Just swapped out the guts....and Whalla

Thanks for the last resort. I dont think I am that brave though.
I had the same issue without insurance and had to replace screen digitizer. It's not that hard off you can follow instructions and have a hair dryer.lol

So, I got a Tab S a couple of months ago and then about a month ago I started having some trouble with it. Lines flashing down the screen and the screen turning off. I'd have to lock and unlock to get the screen back on. Sent it to Samsung for repair and they sent it back about two weeks ago saying they couldn't find a problem. Well, the problem is definitely still there so today I took a video. Samsung said I would have to send it back in for more tests and that they would not watch the video. I'm afraid they're not going to find anything again so I was wondering if anyone had a similar problem and could help.

That's the video, remove the spaces
Does it still happen when you use power saver mode?
When the display goes blank, you press the power button twice, once to enter sleep mode, and again to wake it up, so it looks like a loose display connection or a faulty display, does the screen ever come back on without pressing the power button.
Does the brightness level effect how often the display goes blank?
John.
Thanks for getting back to me. It does still happen on power saving as it turned that on not long after I took the video. Screen brightness I'm not sure though because I packaged it back up to return or send for repair, whichever I decide is best to do.
This happend to me 2 times in the 6 months I have the tab s, seems more like a software thing for me.
All you can do is a factory reset, then install no apps (in case they cause the fault) and see if the problem is still there, if it is, all you can do if you are still in warranty is get an replacement or repair.
John.
I've got the tablet back out of the box while I wait for my repair packaging. I did a factory reset when I got in from work and restored a backup and straight away I had to the same problem. I've now done another reset but with out restore, I haven't even logged in to my Google account. So I'm thinking it's either an app I have installed, not that there were that many or some of the factory installed apps I disabled/removed. I don't think the restore from backup reinstalled apks such as remote play and show box so they can't have been the problem. Could deleting any of the factory apps cause any problems?
You can only delete factory apps when you are rooted, any you have delete without root will make no difference to your tablet stability, try and use the stock apps and see if the error shows.
John.
I've disabled a couple of them like New York times and the office suite one. It's working faultlessly at the minute. The problem is when it came back from Samsung it was working fine for about a week and then the problem returned so I can't be sure if I've solved anything or its just a ticking time bomb.
I don't know how Samsung tests the tablets, they will just send it back if they cannot find a fault, download a couple of benchmark apps, to stress your tablet and see if the fault shows up, see if increasing the brightness while benchmarking doe anything.
John.

Just ran Geekbench 3 adjusting brightness from lowest to full and nothing, worked fine. I'm at a loss, I know that if I send it back to Samsung they're not going to find anything and spoke to Very today, they won't refund me without Samsung authorising it.
Is that Very UK, if so they send phones and tablets for repair, if they cannot repair your phone/tablet in 30 days they give you a refund unless as you said the manufacture says to refund.
Hopefully your problem will not show again, but it could have been an downloaded app, or an update to an stock app that causes the problem only time will tell.
I suppose you are on lollipop, I decided to stay on Kitkat as it`s super stable for me.

Yeh it is, but I bought it a couple of months ago. And they've have to find the fault first.
Hello i have similiar kind of problem i mean it shows stripes and boom reboot or sometimes screen goes black.I wonder if you found any solution?
Have you done a factory data reset from the settings menu, you will loose all internal user information so backup first.
If you have done an reset and still have the problem and you are on the stock rom and have not flashed an rom and have not rooted then you have an hardware fault.

If you are out of warranty check the battery as it sound like an bad connection or a bad battery, there are guides on youtube on how to get the cover off the tablet, you can buy a kit from the link below for $65 or cheaper on ebay for the battery and pry tool.

Ive only had this phone for 1 month and while I was on my bed using the phone when suddenly my phone just powered off by itself and it wouldn't turn back on. Ive tried plugging in the charger but it didnt do anything. I tried to force it on but it didnt do anything. Also, it wouldnt turn on in any way possible.. I suspect that my battery is damaged but im not too sure since I do not know much about smartphone technology and i think its also because that i used the bluetooth function with my car and i noticed that the phone was slightly hotter than usual, maybe this was the case but i dont know. Please help me out here.
Thanks for your time.
Go to the repair shop official if theirs one, unofficial if their isn't. Or contact those you got it from & let them hassle with it. It could be many things from simple battery ribbon to fried SoC... Anyhow even if you got it on wild still in most countries who ever sold it to you must provide one year warranty by the law.

Got it, and mines official so yeah but I had apps such as Blackboard, Chrome and Google Drive on to check on my assignment work and details. SO if I were to get my phone fixed would they still appear in the background to continue the process?

What's cloud synced is recoverable regardless. As stated before it depends on what is the case of the problem. Could be a power stripe from battery which is easy & you don't lose any data or in the worst case it could be a main bord socket in which case you do as everything is on it (SoC, RAM, NAND...)...
