When I woke up today, my honor 7X was reset somehow. This should be impossible because I have 3 securities to unlock it (face, pin and finger) so I couldn't have done it in my pocket.
What the hell could have cause this!? I never had a phone do this before. I had a backup already, but that's not the point.
By the way, this restore took off my unlock!
Your phone was hacked lol
Or it was a hardware problem? My Honor 7x has never reset itself.

Hi,
Some people said that every Nexus 5X will got a bootloop issue after 1-2 years.
Google said a "very little number of Nexus 5X having this".
Then what?
And other question about bootloop issue, if i can switch to recovery and it says "no command" if Stock or entering TWRP if i have costum, that mean it's not a hardware issue, just need to reinstall the rom?
And also, warranty gone if i unlock the bootloader? Can I relock if i got hardware issue to have again warranty?
I want to buy a 5X, but now i'm afraid about this.
Of course you can relock the bootloader and send it to rma, after having deleted every sign of root to ensure they'll accept your device (factory reset). However, they can't refuse it unless they prove that the defect is caused by your software manumission (as far as EU regulation is concerned, I don't know if other countries has different rules).
I don't know if I'd recommend buying a 5X; it's a Nexus, and it's a great device...until it works. When you have a defective one, you're through. I had to send mine three times to rma; moreover, if they change the main board you'll be unable to unlock bootloader due to their block.
It's because solid connection is disjoin from the mainboard if you reheat with heat its will work for a week
This happen with previous G3 its screen faded and bootloop.

Hello
My fingerprint scanner is not working at all. It used to work but after a while it stopped. I have tried removing the persist partition with no luck. I'm at the point where I believe it is hardware based. Does anyone know if there is a way of removing the fingerprint scanner from the screen?
Hi, I'm having a similar issue too. But I couldn't erase persist partition because I couldn't enter EDL mode. Do you have any guide to enter EDL mode? Sorry, I couldn't solve your problem but I believe you tried similar thing that I'll try.

I also have this problem. I flashed china developer rom via EDL mode but no sucess with fingerprint. No other solutions on forum, so i think it must be hardware problem. I asked for repair price, but it's too much, around 200 euros because sensor is glued to the screen so i would have to change fingerprint sensor and lcd screen.

did you try "fastboot oem edl"?
Wait, how? You said it's not working at all. Did you do something and damage to the phone? Shouldn't they RMA it? In my country, there is no official distributor for Xiaomi. Importer guy (very big firm, but again, it's not the distributor) exists and shouldn't they repair the phone? Because, I couldn't manage to enter EDL mode no matter how hard I tried, and it(the issue) happened out of blue. I didn't drop the phone even once and used all the time with case and screen protector.

My phone is in hard case and with tempered glass. I dropped it few times but i think it isn't something that would damage fingerprint sensor. When i didn't use phone it would vibrate every once and while like when someone else try to unlock your phone with his fingerprint. I thought it was firmware problem and it will disapear with new firmware/rom because i changed roms very often. But it didn't, tried different firmwares and roms. After some time it stopped working at all and i couldn't add new fingerprint.
In my country there is no official distributor and i bought my phone via oppomart.com. It was year ago (they offer 1 year warranty), i'll try to RMA it, but i don't think it will accept it.
When i was buying new phone i couldn't decide between mi5 and mi5s. I bought mi5S because of newer camera sensor and ultrasonic fingerprint, but it was dumb mistake. This ultrasonic fingerprint is crap, xiaomi redmi 3s (my dad has it) has better unlocking time and it's 100$ phone. So i think i'll skip future xiaomi "flagship" phones like this.
Sorry to hear that . I didn't try different ROMs and firmware, it is stock as it came out from the factory. Mine is 3months old, I'll try to RMA but phone's box is not with me. Hopefully, they accept that. And hopefully, guys in your country solve your issue too.

Try to flash latest china developer rom via EDL or you can try this method: http://en.miui.com/thread-478922-1-1.html
I managed to get in EDL mode, flashed Chinese Developer ROM. At the first hour I didn't see any issue about fingerprint, but now, it has the same issue. I'll probably call "RMA guys".
After upgrading my XZ1 Compact to Pie I get "Incorrect PIN" although I enter the same PIN I've had since I bought the phone a year ago. I'm not the only one having this problem.
(should be a link to the thread at Sony Mobile Talk here, but I'm not allowed to post links)
The phone somehow sees the PIN as correct, since multiple attempts doesn't trigger the 30-second wait. But still it says "Incorrect PIN".
Might be a good idea to turn off the PIN feature before upgrading.
Interesting...my case is slightly different.
The "password-loop" happened to me too, but only once. I simply turned off and on the screen. It happened only the first day I upgraded to pie (ota) and only once, in fact I almost forgot about it, before reading your post.
Maybe it's worth mentioning that after Pie update, I immediately did a full reset, maybe that's why...?

Yup, so far that's the only way to solve the problem. I'm hoping for a better solution to show up.
Yikes, thanks for the heads up.
I assume this is the thread? https://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-XZ1-Compact/Can-t-access-phone-after-updating/m-p/1351581
It's always best to backup everything before upgrading, especially when it's a major version jump, and perform a full reset to clean everything up.

Yup, thanks for posting it.
A little update:
The password loop, still happens to me, although very very rarely. I'd say once a month, so I have to quickly turn off and on the screen and the problem is gone. So, of course, beeing like this, it's not a big deal and I think I'm just gonna keep it like this until Android O will arrive and I will have to reset everything again (I really don't have time / patience to full reset again) and hope that will fix it completely.
Again, nothing particularly serious but I thought it was worth telling u this, guys.
Sony are filthy shisters.... 7 months after this bug was been identified back in Novemeber of 2018 they are still rolling out the android update without warning customers! This same problem just happened to me tonight. After waiting for 6 months for the update to come to my XA2 I finally got the option to update today and tried just 30 minutes ago!!
What can I say but Sony are filthy scum! Lost a lot of data on my internal memory if there is no way to reset my pin. Not buying Sony again! They can go to hell.

I know it's no consolation, but you'd have probably had to do a factory reset anyway. Pie as an OTA upgrade has lots of reports of being glitchy, only cured by a full reset.
Edit: if you knew that the OTA had a pin code problem, why didn't you take it off before the update?
I bought my wife a Redmi Note 8T for xmas, and unfortunately it's been an absolute nightmare to operate ever since she received it. It works perfectly after a reboot, but after a few hours or perhaps half a day of use many of the apps on the phone refuse to open, they just display an all white screen or sometimes the logo of the app, but never open fully. You can close them, or press the home button to go back to something else but that app will not open unless you reboot the phone again.
I did multiple factory resets and re-set everything up but the problem always comes back. I ended up returning it to the retailer (I'm in Australia but the retailer was overseas), but they insist they couldn't re-create the problem, and refused to tell me if they were actually using the phone for a few hours before trying the apps...they seemed to be only ever trying it out after a reboot. I won't name the retailer but their customer service is extremely poor and I certainly won't be using them again. In the end I asked them to send the phone back to me, at which point they demanded $70 to return it as "there were no issues found". I paid it, got the phone back and then cancelled the charges on my credit card just to annoy them.
Anyway...I got the phone back a couple of days ago and set it up again from scratch, MIUI 11.0.5, added my wife's google account, installed half a dozen of her apps (FB Messenger, Whatsapp, Bring shopping etc)...she used the phone for about 2 hours then Messenger and Bring refused to open with the same problem. I can only imagine it's some kind of CPU or RAM issue. It's the 4gb/64gb model so it should be very capable of handling such a light load. Model M1308C3XG.
I figured I'd cut my losses so went and bought her the Mi 9 Lite from a local retailer yesterday morning and it's been working perfectly ever since. Cost twice as much as the 8T but at least I'm not copping an earful any more!
So...I have a new 8T that's has nothing to do....figured I might unlock the bootloader and try TWRP, see if it makes any difference. Did the unlock last night but it tells me I gotta wait 168 hours. Sigh. Anyone got any ideas in the meantime feel free to throw them my way.
Hi Bro.
Me also facing this problem. I am using redmi note 8 (Indian verison)4/64GB variant
I faces the the same problem u mentioned above.
Me also reseted the mobile but the problem still occurs.
Also me unlocked the bootloader and installed the original fastboot flash ROM. But still the problem occurs.
I don't know how to solve this problem.
If you got some solutions suggest me....

I never did get it solved mate, but you know what's interesting is that I can't recreate the issue without a SIM inserted in the phone. I transferred the SIM into the new Mi 9 Lite and it's working fine, and I have been playing with the Note 8T without a SIM...the issue hasn't come back. So my guess is this is a fault with the GSM hardware in this model of phone...it might only happen if you're using a certain frequency which is why not everyone has the problem?
Hi, I'm having exactly the same issues, even though I changed ROM. Seems like a hardware issue. Did you manage to fix it?
Hi there,
A few days ago my fingerprint scanner just stopt working.
So does anyone know what is going on and if I can repare this problem easily?
*#*#64663#*#* use this code to test the fingerprint hardware.
Input it in the dial in the phone app.
I had the same issue for quite awhile, a factory reset seemed to have sorted the issue but it started to be hit and miss again not long after. I've replaced it with the X3 Pro now so don't know if it's returned full time.
Oh, maybe just take it in for repair and see what their opinion on it is.
Is actually very easy to replace the FP scanber in this device and AliExpress has the part for sale
Best get it repaired at an authorized dealer....
Unless getting fake stuff from aliexpress :/
