I am on AEX 4.4. I always had unstable signal but recently people started complaining that they can't hear me well on call and Ive been noticing the signal icon bouncing a lot more.
How could this be fixed? I read 'baseband' somewhere but a) I am not confident that that's the solution and b) I can't find a guide on doing it properly.
I would really really appreciate some advice here! Thank you!
Ah, I ordered the phone from China and I am in Europe, if that is important

Hello folks,
I know this is one of the most repetitive questions asked in this forum but mine is slightly different. I read many posts which says you have to test all the radios yourself and decide what suits you. I am running AOSP GB ROM.
I tried the latest 27.03 then went to 5.14.05.17, both seemed good and I was having good coverage for mobile/GPS. But the main problem is when I want to use 3G for mobile browsing. I see full coverage, H and everything, but when I try to browse something, nothing happens, its like no data is sent/received...It'll stay like that for few seconds sometimes a minute too and then does send/receive which annoys me a lot and prefer a consistent 2G connection which works 100% even though its slow. It happens quite regularly. This is irrespective of which ROM I use so it may be to do with -
a. Radio
b. Phone
c. T-Mobile UK
Btw, I am on "unlimited" data plan.
So just want to know if there are any T-Mobile UK users who don't have this problem and would wish to know which radio suits best for them and then I may try that n see if that helps or infact anything to boost 3G data transfers ?
Help much appreciated.
Cheers,
RD
..... I will say what you said and a lot of people said. Try each radio to see which suits you the best.
If your still having issues (which you are) then give T-Mobile a call. They do diagnostic checks and everything so they will be able to help you out more than what we can.
i find 32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2 seems to hold a constant H
Hey Thank you both for replying. John, I flashed the radio you said above and it is behaving good so far. Will test this throughout the day but initial impressions are definitely better.
i will definitely second that. i have been using 32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2 for a long time on my Desire (TMobile) and its the best i have tried.
Is 32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2 'compatible' with 2.3.3 Gingerbread ROMs?
I am so glad you have created this thread as I havn't got round to it. This problem is a constant pain in the ass, and is driving me nuts.
You have mentioned, if it was to do with 'T-Mobile UK' themselves as I believed it was. I've contacted numerous times regarding this matter but they hadn't a clue what I was on about and I presumed it was to do with the recent merge up with 'Orange UK' to create Everything Everywhere that I signed upto, so I had requested to opt out but they're demanding me to tell them what the reason and issue was, so I did, but they did not respect my decision of wanting to opt out, so I didn't take it any further. If you are signed to Everything Everywhere, then we may have something there...
So, I left that to be... until I investigated the other possibilities... I tried flashing other ROM'S but the problem kept persisting.
However, I have never discovered it could be to do with the 'Radio' I'm using, hopefully it is as it will be less of a hassle for myself and others alike.
I await a solution...;(
Anybody can help assist me? Thanks

no radio is going to fix the issue, i've had that problem since i had the htc hero, tried all the radios, they all the same , can;t really see the difference .the same thing with the desire. what made it worse since the merged with orange.
the only good thing about orange , i get good reception indoors, good for making or receiving calls, no internet .
indoors wifi . oudoors hsdpa(t-mobile) when you a good signal is good . i wouldn't bother flashing more radios, it's t-mobile's **** coverage.
hope this helps
Thanks for your reply.
My first instincts was that is was to do with the Orange merger. If there is a slight improvement by flashing a different radio I would be grateful, if however as you say it makes no difference I'd leave the radio as it is.
It would be great if others can confirm/post a solution.
Thank you.
Hey guys, First time poster but not exactly new here. I finally got around to Rooting my phone and replacing the ROM with CM7. I'm in love with CM7 and I haven't had any problems with it except for the Reception. The 3G and 4G seem to be duking it out for control over my phone and its killing my battery, at least think that's whats killing my battery. I tried to adjust the APN settings but it slightly worked the signal still alternating between 4g,3g, and Edge. Sometimes it seems that the 4G only kicks in when needed, but that was not the case because i was trying to browse the internet and it kept jumping around again and stopped on edge Im hardly getting any 4G . The Wifi is working fine though. Anyone else having this problem. Im sorry if im reposting anything >.> but i really have been looking for help for the past 2 days and have found nothing if there is a fix or patch can you point me in the right direction?
try flashing a new radio?
+1 for new radio. Over the past week I have been exploring different radio. I started with 12.28b.60.140e_26.03.02.26 which came with my phone, jumped to 12.52.60.25_26.08.04.30 which most people find to be best for them but this was worse for me (speed was significantly worse, signal slightly better), and finally tried the newest one, 12.56.60.25_26.10.04.03. For me the newest one is by far the best in terms of speed and signal. But of course which is best for you depends on your location and what not. Thanks hopefully this will solve my issue if i can figure it out.
When i first got my Note 2, everything worked like a charm. But then, over the curse of a a week or so, the WiFi signal significantly decreased in strength. So much that it is basically unusable now, it can only be used when the phone is right next to the router - and what's the point then?
I donno what to do, i am thinking about returning the phone. But seriously, this can't be. WiFi works, it just has very, very bad reception. Any1 got suggestions? Or any ideas why it may have such bad reception? I have not dropped it or anything.
This is a serious problem for me, and i have not yet found a solution for this. I have even been contacted by other forum members, if i have found a solution yet, but i clearly have not - hence starting this thread.
Heeelp! :silly: :fingers-crossed:
Hey guys, my dad has a HTC10 and he is having a really annoying problem.
he can call people and at random times the calls will just disconnect, he has no signal issues so that kinda made me think it wasn't the common LTE faults, can anyone suggest anything?
Thanks in advance.

perhaps
rooted?
custom ROM?
bad service area?
You've provided no relevant info
my apologies, i should have included more info on the device.
phone is stock, only a few months old, no root and running standard rom and no custom launcher.
service in the area is fine, and it happens everywhere he goes, signal doesnt seem to make a difference, i've got him to keep an eye on the signal strength when it happens but he said the bars are always full.
thanks
Hello,
Is there any modems that I can try loading to improve reception? I had a Moto Z Play before this and got great reception. Now, when I visit my second company site, sometimes I wont get texts or calls for hours because I am not getting reception... In my main company location, I struggle to get reception too, but it works...
Maybe any Rom suggestions that may improve my reception?
Thanks!
Joshua

well i'll go ahead and tell you that Oos will give you slightly better signal than most custom roms (at least in my experience). but thats not saying theres not anything out there that I haven't seen...... but AFAIK no.
Stay on OxygenOS, but you can't do miracles because our op5t is not exactly a champ in signal reception. In my experience it's easily beaten by Xperia xz1 and Galaxy S7, and that is something the "reviewers" forget to mention, though.
Agreed with the latest 2 comments, nothing much you can do, but I've tried several roms, and found out the best experience is yet with OOS roms.

Hey All ,
I dont really have bad reception but when my signal drops like gone and I get back into a better area it takes forever to reconnect. Sometimes i just toggle flight mode but it's really annoying . Is this my 5t having a hard time or could it be a carrier thing ? Using O2 in Germany
Thanks

Same here, I feel your pain, my car is parked in my garage where I have no reception at all, every time I get out with my car it takes forever to reconnect and for Waze to find traffic information.
Not your device bro, not your carrier either, just regular OP5T daily issue. Using Orange in France.
