No SD slot - Connected Car

I have a Sygav PX5(1024x600) -Android 8.0.0 - MTCE_HA_VA_V2.75.1 - Kernel 4.4.93+. There is a new update for it from Sygav but there is no SD card slot on the front of the unit. Question is can I use one of the USB ports or do I have to un-install it and crack open the case to do the update.

Unit Not Booting with GPS SD Card Inserted

Hi,
I have the below unit and after upgrading ROM/MCU I am seeing a peculiar issue where unit will not boot if I leave the SD card in GPS Card slot. As soon I remove the card, the unit boots up fine.
After upgrading MCU I did lose canbus settings and I have everything working now with respect to radio, bluetooth & steering wheel keys after I picked all the options by trial and error (Didn't take backup of canbus setings). Not sure if canbus settings is the issue here.
I installed DSA PreRooted ROM as well factory ROM and this issue is still there. Any suggestions to resolve this issue?

Hello friend,
I have had the same problem with microsd card in GPS slot, problem was in card... please use partition magic or simmilar toool, remove all flags from microsd card, remove filesystem and create a new one. After this, unit works with card in GPS , I mean unit boot normally.

Sim card tray slot problem - there seems to be something in your sim card tray

Hi All,
Would it be possible on root'ed phone to block message which started to pop up after latest upgrade about use of 2xSIM cards + SD Card?
The message blocks completely use of all three at the same time whilst was perfectly working prior update (reports from other users confirm this):
The message says:
"Sim card tray slot problem" there seems to be something in your sim card tray that doesn't belong there"
And overlays completely screen - nothing else is possible.
More details with screenshots under this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s9/help/s9-plus-update-stops-dual-sim-memory-t3813436
It has to be possible - and I truly hope someone can do that, maybe Xposed or something with Magisk could help?
Any hints are more than welcome as currently I've had to pull out second Sim card with SDCard out of the phone (they are glued).
Version which brought this issue first is: G960FXXU2BRG/960FOXM2BRG4/960FXXU2BRG4, size 580.93 MB
Unfortunately I do not know what was original out of the box version. Manufacturing date is: 2018.05.21
Thanks!

Forgot to say, yes, I'll try to do this with Odin (unless anything else recommended) as short term workaround, though it is more important for a long term.
All new releases will include this and the issue is to find long-term fix, hopefully Xposed or Magisk. The issue is that Samsung guys read this forum too and instead of helping, they're blocking us - I've used to use S7 with 2xSIMs and MicroSD without issues for more than a year and was super happy with everything.
On S9 situation - detection seems to be done on logical level, as combos slided into the slot where SD card is covered with thin plastic film, as expected SD card is not detected and both SIM cards work fine. This only proofs that there's no "pressure" sensor and all seems to be verified at logical level, i.e. if SD card and SIM card in Slot 2 is detected at the same time - block usage and popup that nasty message.
Question remains open - how to block that message and be able to use SD cards and SIM in slot 2. Hopefully one of devs might help.
Please see below thread where a lot of people showing their interest to get this fixed, preferably by Samsung, though I'm sure if someone could deliver a fix based on Magisk it would be more than welcome, even if it would require root.

I just tested another Note 9, now with oreo 8.0.1, security pacth of 08/01/2018. It did not work either. Therefore, no stock rom of Note 9 (Oreo 8.0.1) will accept two sims and SD card at the same time. It seems that root is really the only alternative.

Edit: [RESOLVED] Hard brick after attempting to wipe data/cache in recovery

Hi everyone,
I was trying to update my mtcd gs px5 headunit (2gb) that was running malaysk ROM 1.1 (Android 8.0) to malaysk's 3.5 firmware.
I followed the instructions, booted into recovery and hit install update from SD card. It installed successfully with no errors. The next step in the guide said to wipe data so I did so. Unfortunately this led to the unit's screen going black with a flash of text every 5 seconds that reads something like "can't mount cache/recovery/last_locale".
I attempted to create a bootable SD card using the instructions on malaysk's post (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75664396&postcount=3254) but placing this SD card into the GPS slot and attempting to boot only brings up the screen in the picture attached.
I attempted to create this bootable SD using two different SD cards that are freshly formatted as well as a USB drive. I tried booting the unit using the sd cards in the GPS slot and into the regular SD slot. It only goes into that screen if there's a bootable SD card in the GPS slot.
For anyone reading this, It turned out this issue for me was caused by a faulty gps card READER.
Since I have an xtrons unit with two sd card slots (one standard the other gps) I just wired the standard SD card slot into the the GPS slot (they use the same size ribbon cable) and was able to boot from the bootable sd card.
Hope this helps someone.

Samsung A3 2017 Firmware update

Hi Team,
I would like to replace the firmware of my SM-A320F/DS with the European SM-A320FL. As it is Dual Sim phone and I am using the second sim slot for external memory card - 250GB.
Is it going to work? I do not need the second sim option but I need the external card slot.
Many thanks,
Usually is not a good idea to flash firmware for a different model. But let's other say if it will work or not.

Alpine INE-S900R Navigation - new OS Android?

Hello. My car has navigation Alpine INE-S900R.
Currently, the system is running with its own OS, but it is very restrictive. I would like to flash another OS - Android, but still do not know how to do it.
- it has a USB option
- 6.1' touchsreen display
- it has a GPS receiver (12 channel)
- it has Wireless technology (??)
- it has Bluetooth
- it has DVD, CD option
- it has an AUX option
- it has an SD card slot (which I don't think is working, because there is a card with map files, but on the interface is showing that the SD card is not located.)
I can access the back of the navi system with no problem (there is the SD card slot).
Do you have any suggestions from where I can start?
As averiguado algo
