Gcam not installing - Xiaomi Mi A1 Themes, Apps, and Mods

i have flshed 8.5.11v8.1 TISSOT_2 in my Mi A1 and after installing the rom i re locked my boot loader , but now whenever i try to install Gcam either with tool or through twrp fastboot , my phone reset itself to factory data causing lose of my personal data on phone.
please let me know if their is any way to install Gcam in M1 A1 (oreo 8.1) , and what actually is happening with my phone ?
Thanks in advance.

I will recommend you to wipe clean your device once and then use google cam installer tool on your desktop then install Gcam...You can easily find the tool on xda

i have same problem in my Mi A1. My phone automatically reset or format and clean all my data. Again i try to install gcam in my phone then again format my phone. please suggest what i do???

Are you using Mi A1 with May update? If yes, then the rootless Gcam installer isn't working for that patch...

Flash April stock ROM patch via Mi Flash or fastboot, then install GCam, then update to May patch.

And what rom is that because i flashed this one V9.5.11.0.ODHMIFA with mi flash but the patch is still from may

It was rather suprising, when I purged my sister's phone doing the rootless method... ? All she needed was better selfies ??

Questions about upgrading 5T from 5.1.1 to 5.1.3

Hey. I have a rooted with TWRP installed OnePlus 5T on OOS v5.1.1
I've been receiving the 5.1.3 upgrade for a while now and have decided to update. Can i dirty flash the package or do i need to wipe system and data? I'm guessing the root will not be retained and i will have to root again but will the TWRP recovery stay intact? Thanks for your answers
I guess you would be able dirty flash.
You have to flash the twrp and magisk root again. If you are going to flash latest Open Beta 11, you have to flash Beta 10 before to retain data.

I have switched from 5.1.3 to beta11 like;
1- download the rom you want to install from oneplus site.
2- also download the stock recovery image from oneplus site.
3- put both files into the phone.
4- flash the stock recovery you downloaded.
5- boot into stock recovery and install the downloaded rom without wiping or formating anything.
6- enjoy your new rom with all your apps and data.
After the above steps you can install custom recovery and magisk again.
I also highly recommend to take a full backup of your phone .

Well, i always got an error with twrp. No OS installed or something like that. Tried also a dirty flash with twrp and phone was not able to boot. So i found the way with stock recovery.

Rom can be flashed with Blu Spark treble TWRP V8.78not normal TWRP. And after you flash reboot to recovery then flash magisk 15.3 and no verity V2 or version 3 if your not encrypted either work, I used V2 just fine.
If you try to flash magisk right after rom it will probably give you an error. Reboot only to recovery BEFORE letting the rom boot or you loose recovery, then magisk will flash, 15.3 is the least grievous version after a successful boot upgrading to 16.4 is easy.
16.6 has been giving people grief also.

How to update to miui 10 ?

So I'm on miui 9 (9.6.4) rooted with redwolf recovery(note 5 pro).
Can someone please explain to me how do i upgrade to miui 10 since i cannot update through normal OTA .
Also is it worth upgrading to miui 10?
Thanks in advance!
miui10.0.4 is out, its similar to miui9.6.x with few interface differences! still on 8.1 Oreo
since you are rooted.
1. download the recovery version of the ROM from http://bigota.d.miui.com/V10.0.4.0....roGlobal_V10.0.4.0.OEIMIFH_9aa5f799fe_8.1.zip
2. put it on sdcard or usb otg drive
3. simply flash it
4. if you wana do clean flash, you have to re format your data partition
5. once miui 10.0.0.4 is flashed, reboot it, let the first boot done! , once rebooted, come back to recovery again and try to flash magisk or any other kernel...
I magisked my device before rebooting on miui10.x and it went on bootloops! later i had to change my /data parition to-from xfat/ext4 and wipe etc then finally i was able come out from bootloops!
and ofcourse! ALWAYS MAKE BACKUP !! (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED)

the best way is.. to use fastboot rom.. latest 10.0.4 use miflash this will make rom all stock recovery ect.. so if you want to use twrp again and root you must install twrp again since fastboot restores stock recovery.. just make sure in miflash at bottom dont select clean and lock.. or itll lock bootloader..select clean all.

Stuck on MIUI pie latest beta!

Actually I flashed MIUI 10 pie beta yesterday and now because of battery drain issues and bugs I want to go to another ROM which is masik 3.3 which is based on Oreo.
I am not sure what to do.
Should I directly install masik 3.3 by doing clean flash over Miui Pie beta or should I first go to Developer/Stable Oreo based MIUI 10 ROM and then clean flash Masik 3.3?
What abour ARB/firmware?Thanks!
First oreo latest stabil miflash to flash. After install twrp and masik 3.3 clean flash
Second option (I did it already). Flash via Mi Flash latest stable.
The first option will soft brick your device.

I tried using mi flash but device id not showing.
To confirm I type adb devices in command prompt. List of devices attached is showing empty. After that i tried installing new updates drivers but nothing helped. I am on windows 10. ADB drivers are also installed. Platform tools too. I did all but list of devices is showing empty in fastboot mode. Though I can see adb devices when in recovery or in system. I don't know what to do. can you help please?

Well I tried it but didn't work.
Instead now I am flashing Pixel Experience and then after going to pixel experience, I will go to latest MIUI stable ROM available on Xiaomi website and then never go to Miui beta Pie update unless stable version comes. Too much headache. lol
But thank you all who responded
Is it possible to return to Oreo 10.2.2.0 from Pie beta 9.3.28?

I recovered my phone by flashing Stock ROM "miui_HMNote5HMNote5ProGlobal_V10.2.1.0.OEIMIXM_5191f339c3_8.1.zip" via TWRP. It will overwrite TWRP with Stock Recovery, You have to reflash TWRP via fastboot.

I was tried to direct flash with TWRP and softbrick my whyred, but I figured out when I was done flash miui 8.1, I should flash Redwolf recovery which is capable to flash persist partition to fix some of bugs acquired from downgrade. Its work for me, first I tried direct flash to miui 10.2.2.0 and its boot fine, but when I reboot, It doesnt boot up and on my pc detected as 9008 (softbrick?). Then I flash pie twrp thru fastboot and booting to twrp, flash miui beta pie and let it booting,
Second try. Now im on miui pie again LOL. then I flash miui 10.2.2.0 thru TWRP, and flash redwolf recovery, then reboot to redwolf, then flash persist.img. then boot up fine and no bug.

Does fastboot recognized?? If its recognized. U can fix it easily.
I was on same problem as you, but I can flash thru mi flasher. At my second try (to make my phone in same condition as before I fix it), I flash oreo recovery without reboot the device after flashing miui oreo. And then flash the persist img thru advance-terminal and its work and no softbrick anymore.

Well I went to service centre and they flashed it. I am on Stable ROM now. I couldn't through my computer because it's not recognising adb devices but recognising fastboot devices. I can't boot into any recovery other then stock even through fastboot devices. You know why? I can't find any reasons for that.

Hi
My Max3 is in Global 10.3.2 stable and I like to root it. I installed TWRP mod recovery 3.2.3-4 from nijel8 and this works perfect. When I will install SuperSU-v2.82 or Magisk-v19 I have 'failed to decrypt data unable to decrypt with default password. You may need to perform a format data.
But when I format data the Max3 don't start anymore in System mode....
Does anyone have a soloution for this?
Many thanks in advance!!

Re-install the global rom via fastboot. Then, let's start, enable the developer option, USB debugging and installation via USB (there is another option related to USB, but I do not remember ... anyway, enable as well). Then, install TWRP again and format the data via adb (fastboot format userdata). Then enter TWRP and if it is still encrypted, format again by TWRP and restart twrp. After rebooting, you install magisk and restart the system. For me it worked, but I no longer use the global rom because it encrypts the data again.
On the Xiaomi.eu ROM Magisk worked as expected for me.
My friends hi. I flashing phones for years and many xiaomis but this phone have the antiroll protection. I want to flash the revos miui rom or the aicp but the second can't find.. anyway I'm afraid to do it.The ROM devs sad to me that they disable the antiroll back but I'm still afraid what you think?
If you have the decrypting error you can just sideload the SuperSU magisk zip. Just go to the sideload option in twrp then sideload the zip from adb on your PC. Worked just fine for me. I have root, xposed, and magisk running just fine.
There is no need to wipe and back up data. Ez pz.

Hi! Same problem here! Had to switch to MM3 6/128 because I broke Zenfone 3 Ultra crying and had a hard time rooting it! Only way: Magisk via Sideload
Flash dozen of times with standard twrp way and SuperSu zip: no way! 10.3.2 is pretty ****ing hard to "rape"

use this method to decrypt your phone ( from the chapter "Format Data Partition and Disable Encryption (Android Pie only)" ) on this link :

it works perfectly on my mi max 3

Flashing xiaomi.eu_multi_HMNote8Pro_V11.0.2.0.PGGCNXM ROM on Redmi note 8 pro EU

Has someone managed to flash xiaomi.eu_multi_HMNote8Pro_V11.0.2.0.PGGCNXM ROM on Redmi note 8 pro EU version which runs global ROM V11.0.3.0.PGGEUXM? I tried several times but didnt succeed. I have TWRP 3.3.1 and installing went good without any errors but when I want to reboot there is warning "No OS installed". If I reboot TWRP doesnt work anymore like at beginning, cant flash nothing anymore so I have to flash fastboot Global ROM back with Mi flash tool. Does anyone knows how to solve that? Thank you!

how?
I didn't click on Format data before flashing EU ROM. Also need to enter Advanced Wipe and wipe Cache, Dalvik, Data, System and Internal storage. If you dont do that new ROM will not install properly. It's very odd that no one here knows that and did not reply with proper procedure instructions.
Hi, everyone,
No need to delete the internal storage, in my case, I came from version 10.4.5.0.PGGEUXM, with unlocked bootloader, recovery and root. To install the update I did it from the recovery LR Team.
1. Enter Advanced Wipe and Wipe Cache, Dalvik, Data, System.
2. Install the .zip of the update (androidfilehost.com/?fid=4349826312261648579). It is NOT FOR THE INDIAN VERSION, ONLY GLOBAL.
3. Then return to the main menu and under Advanced enter the Install Root.
4. Then a normal restart.
5. The first start takes a few minutes, then ask to enter the MI and Google account.
To install this ZIP you must be from an older version or the same. Otherwise you will probably brick your phone.
Where can I have that Xiaomi EU ROM Link for Global? May you be willing to share it?

Hello there - did u manage to install it?
What are your impressions compared to the 11.06PGGMIXM (miui 11, android 9 global) - is it worth the risk?
thanks and regards
why do you need to install V11.0.2.0.PGGCNXM on device with V11.0.3.0.PGGEUXM ? Both are android 9. EU versions receive android 10, global version still on android 9.
Its better to explain how to update from 11.0.2.0.PGGCNXM or 11.0.6.0.PGGMIXM to Android 10 V11.0.2.0.QGGEUXM
